Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, "The Walking Dead" stars Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Chandler Riggs, Lauren Cohan, Scott Wilson, Iron E. Singleton, Melissa McBride, Morrissey, and Gurira. The series is executive produced by showruner Glen Mazzara, Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, and David Alpert with Greg Nicotero, Denise Huth, and Evan Reilly as co-executive producers.

Synopsis:
The 16-episode Season 3 of "The Walking Dead" will air in two parts with the first eight hours kicking off October 14th and returning in February, 2013 with the final eight episodes. Today's the day, kids! Dredd (review) is officially available for mass consumption, and we have a few videos with the stars and a quick look behind the scenes. Watch them now. Pass judgment later.

Karl Urban stars in the Dredd 3D title role along with Lena Headey, Olivia Thirlby, and Domhnall Gleeson. The flick is based on the acclaimed comic series by John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra. Look for it in theatres on September 21st.

A bit of cool distribution news has come out of Fantastic Fest as Magnet Releasing has snapped up North American rights to Adrian Garcia Bogliano’s Here Comes the Devil (review). Read on for details.

The Wagner/Cuban Company’s Magnet Releasing announced last night at Fantastic Fest – as part of the film's introduction at the US premiere -- that it has acquired North American rights to Adrian Garcia Bogliano’s HERE COMES THE DEVIL. The announcement was made to an excited crowd at the 11:20 pm screening at the Alamo South Lamar. Director Bogliano, producer Andrea Quiroz Hernandez, and stars Francisco Barreiro and Lura Caro were on hand as the announcement was made by Fantastic Fest lead programmer Rodney Perkins. Tim League marked the occasion by having Bogliano saber a bottle of champagne as flutes of champagne were served to the audience as part of a mass toast.

Already lauded by the crowd who loved its spirit, scares, and sensibility at the Toronto International Film Festival, HERE COMES THE DEVIL combines modern indie filmmaking and storytelling with a hint of ‘70s-styled psychological horror that may not just be psychological. Barreiro and Caro are parents whose preteen son and daughter inexplicably reappear after being lost overnight on a desolate, cave-riddled mountainside after a casual hike became every parent’s nightmare. The good luck and good fortune of their return soon changes, as the children’s behavior suggests ominous and unspeakable events the night the children were lost that continue even now. Synopsis

It would be unfair to judge Amy Heckerling's Vamps just yet as we haven't watched it, but after seeing the new one-sheet and this trailer, yeah, we can tell you that the whole affair looks to be very sex and the shitty.

Anchor Bay Films is sending Vamps out in a limited theatrical release on November 2nd, followed by Blu-ray/DVD on November 13th. Look for the specs to be revealed shortly.

Principal photography began recently on British writer/director Mark Murphy’s horror movie debut, The Convent, featuring an up and coming British cast lead by Nicola Posener (Payback Season) and Mark Harris (GBH).

Produced by Yvette Hoyle, the movie is scheduled to film on location in London for three weeks. The cast also includes Peter Woodward (Fall of the Essex Boys), Natalie Stone (Werewolf in a Woman’s Prison), and Lucy Drive (The Borgias).

The Convent blends classic supernatural horror with a modern found footage twist. Murphy, whose docu-drama Casanova’s Love Letters starred Patrick Bergin and Armand Assante, commented, "Marrying the found footage genre with a more traditional theatrical style into two inter-lapping stories is one that I am sure audiences will get excited about. When your high concept is Paranormal Activity meets Blair Witch meets The Exorcist, you know the opportunity to tell a great horror yarn is there for the taking."

Synopsis
The Convent tells two interconnecting stories played out in parallel, intersecting with each other. The first story follows five twenty-somethings, who, on the hunt for some excitement, break into an abandoned church/convent only to become the victims of the horrors that lurk within. The second story follows the church’s investigation into the tragic "accident" that resulted in the deaths of the group that broke into the church.

Some pretty nifty genre news is coming out of the currently happening Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas... a new production deal has just been signed that will no doubt result in plenty of horrors to come. Read on for details.

MPI's Dark Sky Films today announced that it has entered into a co-production agreement with producer Zak Zeman's company Site B to make the genre feature film LATE PHASES, which will be directed by rising star Adrian Garcia Bogliano (Penumbra, Here Comes the Devil). Best known for being the executive producer of the much talked about horror anthology V/H/S, Zeman will now lend his talents to this new production, which will be directed by one of the most creative young voices in filmmaking today. The script is written by Eric Stolze, and shooting is scheduled to start in 2013.

The deal was negotiated at this year's Fantastic Fest by Zeman, MPI Executive Vice President Greg Newman and Bogliano.

Late Phases will tell the story of Ambrose McKinley, a blind war veteran, who moves into a community where the residents have been dying in increasing numbers - oddly, all have supposedly been the victims of dog attacks. But after barely surviving his own attack on his first night there, Ambrose discovers that the assailants are not just canines - they are entirely different and far more terrifying.

Zak Zeman got his start as an executive producer on A Horrible Way to Die. In addition to being part of the producing team for the horror anthology V/H/S, he also produced the action thriller The Aggression Scale, starring Ray Wise and Dana Ashbrook of "Twin Peaks."

Speaking on Late Phases, Zeman said, "I've always been drawn to the horror genre, and with a great partner like Dark Sky Films, we once again have all the right elements in place to create another successful hit."

MPI's Greg Newman added, "Adrian's vision has proven to be a repeated success while Zak's creative voice and outstanding work has convinced us that his taste in film development aligns with our own. We're confident that this partnership will make Late Phases another audience favorite."

Our friends over at Empire Online just scored themselves a look at the UK quad one-sheet for Rodney Ascher's experimental documentary about Stanley Kubrick's The Shining called Room 237, and we have it for you here!

IFC Films has picked up Room 237 and will roll it out later this year via a theatrical/day and date VOD release. The flick is also playing as part of this year's Fantastic Fest, currently under way in Austin, Texas.

Synopsis:
A subjective documentary that explores the numerous theories about the hidden meanings within Stanley Kubrick's film The Shining (1980). The film may be over 30 years old, but it continues to inspire debate, speculation, and mystery. Five very different points of view are illuminated through voice-over, film clips, animation, and dramatic reenactments. Together they'll draw the audience into a new maze, one with endless detours and dead ends, many ways in, but no way out.

Sumthing Else Music Works has released Resident Evil The Darkside Chronicles Original Soundtrack. Read on to learn more about the soundtrack and the game and how you can get your claws into a CD!

Sumthing Else Music Works, through its licensing relationship with Capcom U.S.A, Inc., proudly presents Resident Evil The Darkside Chronicles Original Soundtrack featuring the original music score from Capcom's on-rails arcade shooter in the groundbreaking survival horror video game series. Celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, the Resident Evil series has sold over 47 million units worldwide and has a long history of offering dark, immersive soundtracks. The original soundtrack from The Darkside Chronicles was composed by Shusaku Uchiyama (Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City) and Takeshi Miura (Resident Evil Code: Veronica). Resident Evil The Darkside Chronicles Original Soundtrack is scheduled to be released on October 9th to retail outlets through Sumthing Else Music Works, and for digital download at Amazon MP3, iTunes and other digital music sites.

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles sends a full cast of characters into a world where the lines between good and evil are blurred and the potential to go to the dark side lies within everyone. Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Jack Krauser, Steve Burnside, and Chris Redfield all play their part in an engrossing storyline that will fill in the missing pieces from Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. This chapter in the Resident Evil series retraces the terrifying ordeals of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil Code: Veronica, but this time from an all-new perspective.

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is available for the Wii system from Nintendo and PlayStation3 computer entertainment system.

Dead Souls stars Jesse James (The Amityville Horror, The Flyboys) as Johnny, Bill Moseley (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, The Devil's Rejects, House of 1000 Corpses), Magda Apanowicz (The Butterfly Effect, "Caprica"), Noah Fleiss (Brick), Jaiden Kaine (Hellbenders), and Geraldine Hughes (Rocky Balboa, Gran Torino). Adapted from the novel by Bram Stoker Award finalist Michael Laimo, the film is written by John Doolan and directed by Colin Theys; Andrew Gernhard and Zach O’Brien produce for Synthetic Cinema International.

All the way from across the pond comes the UK quad one-sheet for Stitches (review), and we have it here for you free of Kate's nipples and Prince Harry's winkie. Though we tried getting them for you, too, if only for shits and giggles.

Stitches stars popular British comedian Ross Noble and Tommy Knight of "Doctor Who" and "The Sarah Jane Adventures" and is directed by Conor McMahon (Disturbed, Dead Meat). The film, which is a Dark Sky Films original production in partnership with Fantastic Films and the Irish Film Board, tells the macabre story of Richard "Stitches" Grindle, a jaded workaday kids' birthday clown, whose one-liners are witty in a way that's just not for kids. Stitches falls victim to a fatal party mishap at the hands of a group of particularly nasty children. Years later the group of now teenagers attend a party at which Stitches is the uninvited guest of honor, returning to avenge his untimely death.

The movie is the latest original production coming from MPI Media Group's Dark Sky Films, whose recent productions include The Innkeepers, Stake Land, Hatchet II, and the upcoming Hatchet 3 and Frankenstein’s Army. Dublin’s Fantastic Films, run by John McDonnell and Brendan McCarthy, has produced many successful genre films, including Hammer Films' Wake Wood and Outcast.

Prolong your time with Death starting next week with the first downloadable content pack for THQ’s Darksiders II (review here). The Argul's Tomb DLC pack launches on Tuesday, September 25th, for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Darksiders II follows the exploits of DEATH, one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, in an action-packed tale that runs parallel to the events in the original Darksiders game. This epic journey propels DEATH through various light and dark realms as he tries to redeem his brother WAR, the horseman blamed for prematurely starting the Apocalypse in Darksiders.

Synopsis:
