In the Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart, you'll follow the story of an ancient pirate with a forbidden passion. The pirate was cursed and died. His soul never found rest without the accompaniment of his long-lost love.

You begin this adventure-hybrid game as the director of a nautical museum buzzing with excitement over its newest exhibit: the mummified remains of the notorious 18th century pirate, Captain Remington. In a twist of the supernatural, the pirate awakens and kidnaps her daughter and makes off with her aboard his ghost galleon to his hideout on Skull Island. You soon find yourself aboard his ship, bargaining with skeletons for a map and listening, enthralled, to an undead dwarf as he recounts an unlikely story of romance. You'll travel throughout the Caribbean to some numerous locals as you try to lift the curse and discover more about this ghostly pirate along the way. It's a tale of murder and mayhem upon the high seas and you help to make the story right, in the end.

Gameplay is a bountiful blend of exploration, mini-games, and a choice between hidden object searches or mahjong solitaire. While you can complete the game in a traditional hidden object game fashion, exploring the game's 45 locations and playing its 39 hidden object scenes, you can also switch to a Mahjong-style mini-game where you'll take items from hotspots and can use them elsewhere in the game, like in its 16 puzzles or mini-games.

Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart, Collector's Edition brims with atmosphere and an in-depth story that you'll enjoy right from the start. The game is developed by Artifex Mundi and published on Nook by G5 Entertainment.

Capcom has released a brand new developer diary entitled Becoming Dante for DmC: Devil May Cry. This new video focuses on the video game's protagonist Dante and the mysterious Phineas. Read on to learn more!

The next instalment of the multi-million selling Devil May Cry franchise, DmC sees Capcom collaborating with UK based Ninja Theory to explore new frontiers for the series. DmC is in development for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system.

From its debut on PlayStation 2 in 2001, the Devil May Cry series has been synonymous with stylish action, rewarding combat and a brash, smart-talking protagonist. This ‘Devil May Cry DNA’ remains but is now injected with a dark and brutal gameplay that promises to redefine the franchise.

Set against a contemporary backdrop, DmC will depict a duplicitous world where nothing is ever as it seems and the line between good and evil is constantly blurred. Spurred into action by the promises of a trusted relation, Dante bursts into this world intent on revenge at any cost. DmC will retain the series’ signature mix of sword and gunplay but add additional weapons, all new powers and a revitalized gameplay system as players encounter the game’s devilish mix of enemies and navigate the rich, interactive environment.

A true collaboration, DmC sees the team at Ninja Theory joined by key staff from Capcom’s R&D division. Creative direction for the title will be undertaken by Ninja Theory’s Tameen Antoniades and overseen by Hedeaki Itsuno, who has worked on all previous titles in the series. DmC is being co-produced by Capcom’s Japanese and North American development operations.

Independent horror film Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection opens in a limited theatrical release in UK cinemas on Friday 30th November 2012.

The film is a British version of the 1968 zombie classic, directed by James Plumb from a script co-written with Producer Andrew Jones.

UK distributor 4Digital Media will open the film in 6 venues across the UK with a DVD and Video On Demand release to follow in early 2013. The film will screen at 4 branches of UK chain Cineworld from Friday 30th November 2012 to Thursday 6th December 2012.

Synopsis

Over the weekend news broke that the good folks over at the UK's Bloody Cuts would be venturing into feature film land with a project named Scarecrows. While that is great news, it didn't sound right to us so we did a little digging...

We contacted over buddies across the pond to get the skinny, and here's what they had to say:

"It's actually a little bit of false info to be honest. There is some truth in that we've written a script called Scarecrows (in fact, we've written lots of scripts!) and that it's being looked at for production for next year. If it goes ahead, it'll be a co-production between MFX, us and two other partners. But it's a little way off, and that article was way too premature."

Alarmed by the vivid nightmares he’s having, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) turns to Matt (Zach Roerig) for help, but the situation escalates sooner than anyone expected.

Olympic Gold Medalist Gabrielle Douglas also makes an appearance. Jeffrey Hunt directed the episode written by Caroline Dries and Elisabeth R. Finch.

A big batch of new photos has surfaced from the upcoming "Bates Motel" series on A&E, and we have them all right here for you. Get to know the cast, and look for more soon as the premiere is set for early 2013.

"Bates Motel" is a Psycho prequel series from Carlton Cuse ("Lost) and Kerry Ehrin ("Friday Night Lights") that is currently filming in Vancouver. "We think our take on the Bates family will both be surprising and subvert expectations. We can't wait for people to check in," Cuse recently told The Hollywood Reporter.

There's no doubt that "The Walking Dead" has invaded every facet of pop culture as we know it, spawning hundreds of bits of merchandise, its own talk show, etc., the reason being that it's some of the best damned storytelling you're likely to find anywhere. But let's look at the lighter side...

The original Lost Boys is a classic in every sense of the word. Its sequels? Not so much, though the third one was a vast improvement on the insipid second film. So where does that leave us for the fourth film? Nowhere fast.

Movie Web caught up with series star Corey Feldman, who had this to say regarding another trip into the world of the Nosferatu...

“People love it. People want to see more of it. Jamison Newlander and I are always down to get back into bed,” he tells the site. “But that being said, it’s Warner Bros. that drives that boat. It is a Warner Bros. film, it’s a Warner Bros. franchise. Without Warner Bros. behind it, there are no more Frog Brothers. The Bros. Warner need to get back into bed with The Bros. Frog. Then we can all have a great big movie orgy. Until then, we are all left as homeless Frogs.”

Well now. That's a pretty damned bizarre answer, but it sounds as if the franchise is done... until the eventual reboot we all know is coming sooner or later.

Though it's pretty much the same one-sheet that we have here, the Thai poster for Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters has also added the forever hot Famke Janssen to its eye-popping scheme; and that's enough to get our attention!

Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton star as the famous siblings, and the storyline picks up 15 years after their traumatic gingerbread house incident, which provoked them to become witch bounty hunters. Famke Janssen, Peter Stormare, Thomas Mann, Derek Mears, and Ingrid Bolsø Berdal also star.

With The Twilight Saga officially over (at least for now), its stars are moving on to other projects, hoping that the screaming chicks follow. Next up for Kellan Lutz? A role as a supernatural assassin in a flick called Tatua.

According to Deadline, Lutz has signed to star in the indie genre flick that's based on an original concept by comic book creators Paul Jenkins and Rob Prior. Tatua is about a man with a rare blood type that allows him to be tattooed with a powerful ink. He is able to pull those weapons straight off his skin, giving him an enviable leg up as a covert assassin.

Aaron Sims, the vfx wiz who helmed the viral sensation short Archetype (see below), is set to make his directing debut on the film, says Rick Schwartz, whose Overnight Productions has lined up the financing for a March production start in Toronto.

There's nothing quite like seeing innocent, unsuspecting people having the shit scared out of them. That's exactly what you're gonna get, too, in this frightening six-minute clip from a Brazilian talk show hosted by Silvio Santos.

Given that lots of people are scared of elevators to begin with, this is nothing short of a piece of chicken fried gold. The setup is deliciously simple...

During an elevator ride, the lights go out on the passenger. When they come back on, a ghostly little girl is found standing beside them. The reactions to this scenario are absolutely priceless and better than anything you're likely to see on that tepid "Scare Tactics" show, etc. Sit back. Relax. And enjoy.
