Overall it's a great next entry in the fun and craziness that is ‘Holliston,’ but being a special episode, we've also created something a bit more emotional than the norm. We're all incredibly proud of this one-hour episode and grateful for the chance to do something so unique this early in the series' life."

It's been a really long time since Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer director John McNaughton made a horror film. Hell, it's been over a decade since he's made any kind of film for that matter. Thankfully both of those facts are about to change.

Variety reports that after an 11-year absence from the big screen, McNaughton is set to return for psychological horror thriller The Harvest, for which Michael Shannon and Samantha Morton have come aboard to star alongside Natasha Calis.

Living Out Loud Prods. is financing The Harvest for under $10 million, while Elephant Eye Films will handle international sales. In addition to Calis (The Possession), the flick co-stars Charlie Tahan (Frankenweenie), Leslie Lyles and Meadow Williams.

Written by Stephen Lancellotti, The Harvest stars Morton and Shannon as a married couple with medical backgrounds and a sick son (Tahan) who lives secluded in a controlled environment until a young girl (Calis) moves in next door and gives him hope of a better life. As the teens grow closer, the tight-knit world his over-protective mother has created begins to unravel.

Production is under way in New York.

"This is the first horror script I've been interested in in 25 years, so it's kind of cool to return to the genre," said McNaughton, whose debut feature, the controversial 1986 pic Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, earned widespread acclaim.

"I got the script a few years ago and loved the story, which is dark and has a great twist. It's like a cross between 'Hansel and Gretel' and 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf," explained the helmer.

Elephant Eye spent five years developing the project before attaching Shannon, whose involvement led to Morton signing on, as the duo had long wanted to work together.

Imagine sitting at your job waiting for the phone to ring. Someone somewhere will be needing your assistance. That's what you're being paid for, right? Every work environment has its share of excitement, but one in particular is about to have its share of scares with Devil May Call.

Variety reports that Esperanza Films and Thai company Angel Bear Prods. are teaming to produce and finance a slate of films for 2013, starting with horror thriller Devil May Call.

The film, currently shooting in Los Angeles, is directed by Jason Cuadrado from his own script with Corri English, Tyler Mane and Traci Lords starring. Devil May Call centers around a young blind woman who works at a suicide hotline.

The CW is heading out into the wilderness with its new one-hour reality series "The Hunt," which was announced today. It sounds an awful lot like The Hunger Games, which is why we're mentioning it here.

"The Hunt" is an intense wilderness competition taking place over one month as 12 teams of two are provided no food, water, or shelter but must compete in a game where they'll rely on their physicality, survival skills, and hunting skills to endure their conditions, capture one another, and ultimately win a huge cash prize. Executive produced by David Garfinkle (“Ready for Love”), Jay Renfroe (“Ready for Love”), and Greg Goldman (“Ready for Love”), "The Hunt" is from Renegade 83 and Blackbird Television in association with Warner Horizon Television.

Described as "Band of Brothers" meets "The Walking Dead,"War of the Dead is hitting Blu-ray and DVD just after the first of the new year from Entertainment One, and we have all the info you need on the film right here, including a trailer and some stills.

In the Wayans family tradition of successful movies like Scary Movie 1 & 2, Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, and, most recently, Dance Flick, Marlon Wayans co-wrote the script for A Haunted House along with Rick Alvarez, who has produced several Wayans family movies.

Open Road Films will release A Haunted House– which stars Marlon Wayans, Cedric the Entertainer, David Koechner, Nick Swardson, and Essence Atkins – nationwide on January 11, 2013, pitting it directly against Dimension Films’ Scary Movie 5 release, which opens the same day.

Synopsis
In an outrageous send-up of the Paranormal Activity movies, The Devil Inside and other "found footage" movies, A Haunted House features young couple Malcolm (Marlon Wayans) and Kisha (Essence Atkins), who have just moved in to their dream house. As they settle in, they quickly find they’re not alone. But it’s not the house that’s haunted; it’s Malcolm’s girlfriend who is possessed by a demon. Malcolm hires everyone from a priest to modern day ghostbusters to rid her of this unwelcome intruder, determined not to let the evil spirit ruin his relationship… or, more importantly, his sex life.

More casting news has hit the interwebs with regard to Insidious Chapter 2, and we have the skinny on more returning cast members who are ready to take yet another trip deep into The Further. Read on for details.

According to Bloody Disgusting, Leigh Whannell, Angus Sampson, and Andrew Astor have officially joined Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, Ty Simpkins, and Barbara Hershey in James Wan’s Insidious Chapter 2. Whannell and Sampson return as the investigative team of Specs and Tucker, respectively, and Astor returns to reprise his role as the young Foster Lambert, the boy whose body is “haunted.”

Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions is producing (with Alliance financing). FilmDistrict will distribute the film theatrically in the United States, with Sony handling the majority of domestic ancillary rights. Alliance will distribute in Canada, the U.K. (through its Momentum Pictures subsidiary) and Spain (through Aurum), and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions will distribute in all other international territories.

Production on the sequel is set to begin on January 15, 2013, in Los Angeles. Look for it in theatres on August 30th.

Missed the ridiculously bad Silent Hill: Revelation when it was in theatres? Well, it will be available on 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, On Demand and Digital Download on February 12, 2013, from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. You may want to miss that, too.

Open Road released Silent Hill: Revelation (review) on October 26th. Sean Bean, Deborah Kara Unger, and Radha Mitchell return from the original film. In the sequel, directed by Michael J. Aliens: Colonial Marines will release for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U on February 12, 2013. SEGA has released a slew of new screenshots for the upcoming title for a closer glimpse into the Xenomorph Hell to come!

Stitches stars popular British comedian Ross Noble and Tommy Knight of "Doctor Who" and "The Sarah Jane Adventures" and is directed by Conor McMahon (Disturbed, Dead Meat). The film, which is a Dark Sky Films original production in partnership with Fantastic Films and the Irish Film Board, tells the macabre story of Richard "Stitches" Grindle, a jaded workaday kids' birthday clown, whose one-liners are witty in a way that's just not for kids. Stitches falls victim to a fatal party mishap at the hands of a group of particularly nasty children. Years later the group of now teenagers attend a party at which Stitches is the uninvited guest of honor, returning to avenge his untimely death.

The movie is the latest original production coming from MPI Media Group's Dark Sky Films, whose recent productions include The Innkeepers, Stake Land, Hatchet II, and the upcoming Hatchet 3 and Frankenstein’s Army. Dublin’s Fantastic Films, run by John McDonnell and Brendan McCarthy, has produced many successful genre films, including Hammer Films'Wake Wood and Outcast.

Synopsis:
A supernatural love story set in the South, Beautiful Creatures tells the tale of two star-crossed lovers: Ethan (Alden Ehrenreich), a young man longing to escape his small town, and Lena (Alice Englert), a mysterious new girl. Together they uncover dark secrets about their respective families, their history, and their town. Oscar nominee Richard LaGravenese (The Fisher King, P.S. I Love You) directs from his adaptation of the first novel in the best-selling series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. The film stars Alden Ehrenreich (Tetro), newcomer Alice Englert, Academy Award winner Jeremy Irons (Reversal of Fortune) Oscar nominee Viola Davis (The Help, Doubt), Emmy Rossum (TV's "Shameless"), and Academy Award winner Emma Thompson (Howard's End, Sense and Sensibility).

Margo Martindale plays Lena's Aunt Del, who helps to protect her from the family's dark side, and Zoey Deutch portrays Emily Asher, Ethan's ex-girlfriend and the ringleader of the high school's popular clique that conspires against Lena. The film co-stars Kyle Gallner and Thomas Mann.

Synopsis
Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story described in the book House of Darkness, House of Light: The True Story by Andrea Perron, The Conjuring tells the horrifying tale of how world renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.

From New Line Cinema comes a feature film drawn from the case files of married demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren. The Conjuring stars Academy Award nominee Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air, Orphan) and Patrick Wilson (Hard Candy, Insidious) as the Warrens, and Ron Livingston (HBO’s “Band of Brothers”) and Lili Taylor (Public Enemies) as Roger and Carolyn Perron, residents of the house.

Joey King (Crazy, Stupid, Love), Shanley Caswell (Detention), Haley McFarland (TV’s “Lie to Me”), Mackenzie Foy (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn), and newcomer Kyla Deaver play the Perrons’ five daughters, and Sterling Jerins (upcoming World War Z) is the Warrens’ little girl, Judy.

James Wan (Saw, Insidious) directs from a screenplay by Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes (The Reaping). The film is produced by Peter Safran, Tony DeRosa-Grund, and Rob Cowan with Walter Hamada and Dave Neustadter serving as executive producers. Reuniting with the director are members of his Insidious creative team, director of photography John Leonetti, editor Kirk Morri, and costume designer Kristin M. Burke, and his Saw production designer, Julie Berghoff. The music is composed by Joseph Bishara.
