The first clip has come for the documentary West of Memphis, which opens on Christmas Day courtesy of Sony Pictures Classics; and we're pretty sure it will provide one of the most intense, powerful movie experiences this year. Check it out!

West of Memphis was written and directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Amy Berg (Deliver Us From Evil) and produced by first-time filmmakers Damien Echols and Lorri Davis, in collaboration with the multiple Academy Award winning team of Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh.

Synopsis
Starting with a searing examination of the police investigation into the 1993 murders of three, eight-year-old boys - Christopher Byers, Steven Branch, and Michael Moore - in the small town of West Memphis, Arkansas, the film reveals the story from the inside. West of Memphis uncovers new evidence surrounding the arrest and conviction of the other three victims of this shocking crime – Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley, all three of whom were teenagers at the time of their arrests and all three of whom were imprisoned for crimes they did not commit.

The first official trailer for Nicolas Lopez's Aftershock (review) has hit the interwebs, and we have it right here for you. Whatcha waitin' for? Start shakin', baby!

Aftershock, an earthquake thriller scripted by Cabin Fever and Hostel's Eli Roth, Nicolas Lopez, and Guillermo Amoedo, revolves around an insane asylum on an island, where the inmates escape during the quake.

It’s the next "Eli Roth Presents" film, and it marks the English-language debut from director Nicolas Lopez. His last two films, Que Pena Tu Vida and Que Pena Tu Boda, were the highest-grossing Chilean films of 2010 and 2011. Roth most recently produced The Last Exorcism, a microbudget film that grossed $70 million worldwide.

Roth and Lopez wrote the story together, inspired by the latter’s experience when an earthquake devastated Chile in 2010. In his first big acting role since Inglourious Basterds, Roth plays the lead. Among the other cast is Selena Gomez, who was in Chile doing a concert and came over to do a cameo. Lopez’s frequent collaborators Ariel Levy, Nicolas Martinez, and Lorenza Izzo also star along with Natasha Yarovenko, Andrea Osvart, and Miguel Asensio.

But when an earthquake ravages the underground nightclub they are in, a fun night quickly turns to terror. One generic title has been exchanged for one cliche title as the Jennifer Carpenter spooker has gone from being known as The Occult to The Devil's Rapture. Maybe the studio should go to the well a third time?

That's not the only change, however, as the release date has been moved as well. You'll now find The Devil's Rapture to be in theatres on October 11th, 2013.

We told you about the film adaptation of the Richelle Mead novel series Vampire Academy a while ago, and the project has gathered quite a bit of steam over the last few months. Read on for the latest.

When Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) father, Rudy Owens (guest star Rick Worthy, “Supernatural”), accepts the role of Interim Mayor, he makes it a priority to protect his daughter, who isn’t at all comfortable with the role he suddenly wants to play in her life. Professor Shane (guest star David Alpay) continues to encourage Bonnie to believe in her powers, but he soon finds himself in danger when he reveals too much to the wrong person.

Later, Caroline does her best to comfort Tyler (Michael Trevino) after a violent confrontation. Meanwhile, at the lake house, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Matt (Zach Roerig) train Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), trying to raise his game as a hunter, but Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is impatient with their progress and intervenes to speed up the process. David Von Ancken directed the episode written by Brett Matthews.

With the Mayan scare behind us, we can finally focus on the holiday season completely. And for you doomsdayers out there… Wrong again! The next film in the Slays of Christmas collection was recommended by none other than The Woman in Black herself: the Dutch holiday nightmare Sint.

Sint (aka Saint, aka Saint Nick) was written and directed by Dick Maas (keep your chuckles to yourself, please) and takes a couple of liberties with the Sinterklaas traditions of the Netherlands. Instead of being a fun-loving, gift-giving guy, Sint's portrayal of Sinterklaas is initially that of a murderous, looting gang leader in 1492 and then as a murderous zombie-like beast as the film moves into Amsterdam in the present time. According to the film, whenever there is a full moon on December 5 (the day Sinterklaas is traditionally celebrated), he arises and basically kills as many people as gruesomely as he can. And you thought your grandmother's fruitcake was a tough holiday tradition to swallow!

Basically what happens in 1492 as the film begins is Sinterklaas leads his gang of thugs (Black Peters) into villages with a list of demands that must be fulfilled each full moon. If the villagers don't comply, bad things happen. Well, as the movie starts, the villagers are pretty much sick of Sinterklaas' bullshit and decide to rise up against him. Sint wastes no time in getting right to the action with a shovel in the head and a burning alive in the first five minutes of the movie. Sinterklaas' spirit, however, is so evil that, even after being burned alive, he returns to kill again and again.

Although the film is a bit slow in the middle, the action scenes definitely make up for it. The undead Sinterklaas is a great, creepy character and looks very impressive, especially upon his trusty steed! In fact, when the film was released, a legal complaint was filed that stated the movie poster was unsettling for children, showing Sinterklaas with a mutilated face and malevolent look. During the court case, Dick Maas (that's right, I worked it in one more time) stated that if parents could make children believe that Sinterklaas existed, then he was sure they could make the children understand that the man on the poster was not really Sinterklaas. The jury ruled in his favor, stating that the mutilated face was barely visible on the poster. A victory for common sense.

A truly fun, horrific romp with a great adventure, Sint is certainly one to add to your holiday viewing list immediately! Vrolijk Kerstfeest!

Of course Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan appear in the Scary Movie 5 trailer, which focuses its spoofs on the Paranormal Activity franchise and also offers nods to Inception and Black Swan. Check it out and decide whether you'll see it or the Evil Dead remake on April 12, 2013.

Malcolm Lee directed Scary Movie 5 from a script penned by David Zucker. It stars Ashley Tisdale, Erica Ash, Heather Locklear, Terry Crews, Jerry O'Connell, Kate Walsh, and Jasmine Guy. The plot involves three dancers — one veteran performer and two upstarts who are also best friends — who vie for the lead in a new production from a snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed director. It spoofs Black Swan, Paranormal Activity, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, 127 Hours, and lots more.

Fans of ABC's cancelled series "666 Park Avenue" are going to now have a much longer wait before achieving any sort of closure as the network has suspended broadcasts of the show until the summer of 2013.

According to TVLine, instead of beginning to air the remaining episodes of "666" next month as originally announced, unaired installments won't arrive until the warmer months. Look for the exact dates soon.

Synopsis:
