The final bit of key casting news for NBC's supernatural western pilot "The Sixth Gun" has arrived with Elena Satine signing on to play the “widow” Missy Hume, a powerful Madame who runs the town of Brimstone kept unnaturally youthful by being in possession of the Fifth Gun.

Missy is a cold, stunningly beautiful woman of great cunning who is unafraid to use whatever means necessary to collect all Six Guns for her own dark purposes.

Written by Ryan Condal based on the comic, directed by Jeffrey Reiner, and produced by Universal TV, the supernatural Western follows the story of six mythical guns, each with its own other-worldly powers. When the Sixth Gun, the most powerful and dangerous of the group, resurfaces in the hands of an innocent girl, a farmer’s daughter named Becky Montcrief (Laura Ramsey), dark forces reawaken. Pedro Pascal, Aldis Hodge, James LeGros, and Chin Han also star.

The Sixth Gun Volume #1 Synopsis:
During the darkest days of the Civil War, wicked cutthroats came into possession of six pistols of otherworldly power. The Sixth Gun - the most dangerous of the weapons - vanished. A few years back Wes Craven went all remake happy, but thankfully cooler heads prevailed and the trend stopped with A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Last House on the Left. Still, there's one more movie in his canon he wanted to have another go at...

"I’d like to redo Shocker just to get the special effects right because we had a real special effects disaster on the film," Craven tells Crave. "The guy who was doing all the visual effects kind of flamed out, had a nervous breakdown because he was attempting more than he could actually do. When he told us towards the end of the movie that not a single one of the special effects was actually working, he was working on a new technique; my son’s job specifically became just to find all the negative. It was all around town in unmarked boxes and under people’s editing [benches]. It was a nightmare itself. We pulled every favor in town to get all those special effects done very quickly, and some of them are pretty sketchy."

Wes Craven's 1989 flick Shocker focused on a murderous TV repairman, Horace Pinker (Mitch Pileggi), who was killing people in a small town originally in human form and then eventually via supernaturally charged electricity.

Bloody Disgusting Selects is set to release Sonny Laguna's psycho looking slasher flick Blood Runs Cold (review) here in the States, and we've got an official image gallery for you open for some truly disturbing business.

The Collective, a leading entertainment management and production company, and top horror website BloodyDisgusting.com bring you the new, horrific cabin-in-the-woods slasher Blood Runs Cold as part of their Bloody Disgusting Selects film series.

Written and directed by Sonny Laguna through Swedish-based production company Stockholm Syndrome Films, the English-language film premiered at London’s FrightFest in 2011. With a classic, terrifying villain, Blood Runs Cold showcases the far-reaching talent of its filmmakers to deliver a film that truly keeps you chilled to the end. Written and produced with frequent collaborators Tommy Wiklund and David Liljeblad, Laguna continues to put an excited spotlight on the Swedish horror scene. Influenced by the works of Raimi and Carpenter, Blood Runs Cold follows a successful artist looking to get away, who is joined by some friends in a rented cabin in a remote village. It's been awhile since we've heard anything from director Ben Katai, who last dabbled in our genre with 30 Days of Night: Dark Days, but that's about to change as he has a new flick lined up with the Revolver Picture Co.

According to Deadline, Katai is on board to direct the horror-thriller Beneath. The flick focuses on a team of coal miners and a headstrong female lawyer who are trapped underground when the mine collapses. Turns out they are not the only ones who want to get to the surface. Patrick J. Doody and Chris Valenziano wrote the screenplay on spec, and former Dimension Films and Screen Gems executive Nick Phillips and veteran casting director Kelly Wagner’s recently formed company picked it up late last year.

Come April 5th the iconic Book of the Dead, which we first met over 30 years ago now, will set its sights on a new batch of victims to torture in Fede Alvarez's reboot of the Evil Dead.

Co-written by Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues, Evil Dead follows a group of five friends who travel to a remote cabin in order to help one of them (Jane Levy) kick her deadly drug habit. But what starts off as a normal intervention quickly escalates into something far more sinister when they discover the aforementioned Book, which unleashes a demonic force that wants to send all their souls straight to hell.

Evil Dead also stars Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas and Elizabeth Blackmore; during a recent press day at the 2013 SXSW Film Festival, Dread Central caught up with the cast of the remake to hear more on their thoughts about being involved with one of the most beloved horror franchises of all time, how prepared they were for their hellacious shoot which pushed them all physically and mentally, and much more.

Synopsis

Production began in late February in Wilmington, N.C., on "Under the Dome," a new CBS drama series based on Stephen King's novel. Niels Arden Oplev is helming the first episode of the show. Oplev directed the original Swedish version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Synopsis:
"UNDER THE DOME" is the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The town’s inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers to what this barrier is, where it came from, and if and when it will go away.

"UNDER THE DOME" is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Amblin Television. Neal Baer, Stephen King, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stacey Snider, and Brian K. Vaughan, who wrote the television adaptation, serve as executive producers. Acclaimed director Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) directed the first episode.

To say that we're excited about a new Godzilla movie being filmed is a bit of an understatement. We told you yesterday production had started in Vancouver, Canada, and now today several paparazzi images from the set have surfaced as well as a Gareth Edwards greeting video! Check it out!

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have announced the final principal cast for the upcoming tent pole Godzilla. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, and Juliette Binoche are starring in the film, with David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston.

The companies also announced that principal photography has begun on location in Vancouver.

Gareth Edwards is directing the film from a screenplay by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont, and Dave Callaham. Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are producing with Mary Parent and Brian Rogers. Alex Garcia and Patricia Whitcher are serving as executive producers alongside Yoshimitsu Banno and Kenji Okuhira.

A presentation of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, Godzilla will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, except in Japan, where it will be distributed by Toho Co., Ltd. Legendary Pictures is a division of Legendary Entertainment.

Slated to open on May 16, 2014, the film is expected to be presented in 3D.

Around here we've always considered the R.L. Stine Goosebumps books akin to horror training wheels. You gotta bring the young pups up right, ya know? And now kids everywhere will be able to enjoy these wonderful tales in a whole new way!

Deadline reports that Sony Pictures is negotiating with Rob Letterman (Monsters vs. Aliens, Shark Tale, Gulliver’s Travels) to helm Goosebumps, a feature film based on the R.L. Stine young adult fright book series.

Goosebumps will be produced by Neal H. Moritz, and Sony Pictures is making the film with Scholastic Entertainment.

The Goosebumps series — which comprises more than 50 books that often pay homage to classic sci-fi/horror movies such as Night of the Living Dead and Invasion of the Body Snatchers as well as the twist endings of “The Twilight Zone” — have grossed hundreds of millions for Stine and Scholastic, second only to the Harry Potter series. Stine recently published a new 12-book series, Goosebumps in HorrorLand, and Scholastic plans to launch a video game in the fall.

Ghost House Pictures is producing the much anticipated remake of The Evil Dead, the film that effectively launched the careers of Sam Raimi (Spider-Man franchise, Darkman, Drag Me to Hell), Rob Tapert (30 Days of Night), and Bruce Campbell, who played the Ash character and was co-producer of the original. They are now back to produce an Evil Dead for today's audience that's high on the horror, gore, plot twists, and more from a screenplay written by Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues with Diablo Cody. Synopsis
In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.
