Synopsis
Only a few weeks after Annie Barlow exterminated the plague that was the Judas Killer, we meet June, a woman whose carefully constructed life in Los Angeles is beginning to unravel due to lucid nightmares so awful they disturb her waking life. When Special Agent Kevin Dickey, the FBI agent assigned to wrap up the case of the newly deceased Judas Killer, shows up at June’s door, he brings with him some terrifying news – there is a Judas copycat killer on the loose in her neighborhood! In the course of his investigation, Dickey shows June a picture of the copycat killer’s victim, and she is stunned to see that it’s the same woman she saw brutally murdered in her nightmares.

A series of hauntings begin to torment June, growing in frequency and ferocity over time. Now, not only does she see murder victims, but her dreams put her in the role of the murderer. June fears that the spirit of the Judas Killer is the architect of some greater plan in which she must now play a part. June struggles to maintain her grip on sanity as she plunges into her own investigation of these events. No matter the result, the truth will be horrifying - either there is true evil inside of her, or someone, or something, is determined to destroy her… IT’S NOT OVER.

B-Sides: Lair of D'Ampton Worm

B-Sides: Lair of D'Ampton WormThis weekend’s B-Sides is without question the peppiest song and dance number ever put to music or film about a monstrous, man-eating worm. If you’ve never seen The Lair of the White Worm, then you’re in for a fun treat because both the song and the British hoedown scene in which it plays are a gas.

Before he made a name for himself as a romantic leading man starring in Four Weddings and a Funeral and then nearly destroying that box office fortune by getting busted having sex with a street hooker nicknamed “Pancake”, Hugh Grant starred in Ken Russell’s trippy 1988 big screen version of Dracula author Bram Stoker’s lesser known 1911 novel The Lair of the White Worm. The title refers to the legendary “D’Ampton worm”, a gigantic serpentine creature legend claims lives in the caverns beneath manor lord Grant’s estate. Grant and the future Mrs. Casper Van Dien, Catherine Oxenberg, will soon find themselves contending with this monstrous white worm and a seductive serpentine vampire lady.

But first, they dance!

Emilio Perez Machado and Stephen Powys perform the song; a take-off of “The Lampton Worm”, an actual Northeastern England folk song, which itself was the inspiration for Stoker’s novel. See how it all comes back around?

More Talk about Season 4 of The Walking Dead from Exec Producer Gale Anne Hurd

$

More Talk about Season 4 of The Walking Dead from Exec Producer Gale Anne HurdWe have a few "The Walking Dead" Season 4 teasers from Robert Kirkman here and here, and now it's time to hear from exec producer Gale Anne Hurd, who says it's a good bet the zombies, who stayed on the sidelines a lot during Season 3, will become more threatening. Read on for more.

Hurd spoke at length with IGN, and here are some highlights, mostly with regard to what's ahead and how the post-apocalyptic tale reflects the real world's current conditions and fears. But for more, especially pertaining to the Season 3 finale and some of the choices made over the course of the year, be sure to hit the link at the bottom of the page.

Why keep the Governor alive? Is it that he provides a strong counter to Rick and what he brings out in him as a character?

Hurd: "The Walking Dead" will never do what’s expected of us. You always expect that the big bad will be killed in the finale. It’s really unlikely we’re going to do that. I think that there’s more to be done with not only the character but with the conflict that we get to see, the difference in leadership between the Governor and Rick.

With the Governor still out there, how will the tone or nature of the show change going into Season 4?

Hurd: I don’t think it’s changing... Yes, there will more than likely be a passage of time. It’s unlikely to follow to directly after the end of [the finale].

It doesn't seem like it will be about Rick and the Governor. Rick and Carl seem to be coming to the forefront as having two contrasting viewpoints about how to handle this world. Do you feel like what Carl did was the right thing?

Hurd: It’s complex. It’s clearly right in his mind. In his mind, he personally saw how walking away, as he walked away from that walker that killed Dale, was the wrong thing to do. And he felt that Rick, his father, should have just killed another man in cold blood, and that that would have been the right decision. That’s unlikely something that Rick is going to do. And we’ll have to see more of parenting in the apocalypse and how Rick deals with that.

One question a lot people have, because it happened off-screen, is: Why bring Woodbury to the prison? Why not just relocate to the town and take it over?

Hurd: Who knows? The Governor is still out there with Shumpert and Martinez. They’ve still got significant firepower. If they go to Woodbury, at this point, Woodbury’s not as protected as it used to be. I think everyone was traumatized by what happened, and I think they feel safer in the prison.

So, is the whole population now in the prison, or are there still people left in Woodbury? And have you begun for all the new roles yet

Hurd: I couldn’t tell you that, to be honest. I think that’s a decision we’ll come to find out in the new season, [and no], we haven’t cast anyone yet.

How are you going to handle having all of these characters to introduce along with all the characters that already need to be served?

Hurd: You’ll see. [Laughs] We have a few interesting things up our sleeve.

About those "more threatening" zombies, is that a result of it seeming like they've become so comfortable with the fact that they’ve got the situation handled, in a way?

Hurd: Yeah, I think we’ve come to discover that in a post-zombie apocalypse you can never get too comfortable with anything.

The rise of zombies in the media is kind of interesting, in itself. World War Z director Marc Forster was talking about how in Romero films zombies represented consumerism. For him, in his film, what they represent is overpopulation and limited resources and the drive to grasp at the last resources. What do you think the zombies themselves represent in "The Walking Dead"?

Hurd: I think that they tap into the fear that I know most of my friends have, that something awful -- even more awful than what’s been happening now -- is right around the corner. There’s been the financial collapse, there’s been the global economic collapse, there’s been the hurricanes, the floods, the volcanoes, the earthquakes. I think it’s the fear that we won’t escape, that we won’t escape some sort of cataclysm, and that we will be reduced to living in fear, and even greater fear that it’s going to be personal.

Then the responses of the characters reflect how people are responding in various ways to the real world crises?

Hurd: Yes, exactly. Yeah, there are people who are all in it for themselves, there are people who are trying to do the right thing, there are people who are holed up by themselves, there are people who are giving up -- all of that I think is reflected in our characters.

We've seen Daryl become a better man, and there’s a lot of Team Daryl for leadership out there...

Hurd: And he’s also the most well-equipped to survive in this world. Some people have that kind of skill set. And you’re right, he went from being a character who really didn’t want to be a part of any kind of society to someone who is not only integrated, but everyone has come to rely on, who clearly cares deeply about the group. We’re going to see how his brother’s death affects him in the new season. But you know what? Is he someone who really wants that responsibility? We’ll have to see.

Box Office – Evil Dead Groovy, Jurassic Park 3D Anything But Extinct

$

Box Office – Evil Dead Groovy, Jurassic Park 3D Anything But ExtinctIt was a big weekend for Hollywood with three films coming in at over $20 million and a 3D re-release nipping at their heels. But it was Evil Dead that swallowed the box office’s soul in a big a way.

The ultra gory remake of the horror classic Evil Dead was the easy winner at the box office sitting atop with $26 million. The Sony’s TriStar/FilmDirect/Ghost House production did $1.8 million alone just in midnight sneak preview sales. Not only has the redux already made its reported $17 million budget back, that’s more than the original The Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn, and Army of Darkness combined.

The year hasn’t been great for Hollywood so far this year but it’s shaping up that one of the biggest winners of the first quarter of 2013 will be Sam Raimi, director of the global blockbuster Oz: The Great and Powerful and producer of this remake of the film that pretty much launched his career three decades ago.

What now will remain to be seen is whether Evil Dead has legs or if they’ll get lopped off like so many limbs in the film. Horror movies tend to drop-off big in the second weekend and odds are it could be really big for Evil Dead considering it only garnered a very disappointing “C+” Cinemascore, an indication that word-of-mouth is not particularly strong. Could that be a backlash to the bold marketing that showcases a poster declaring the film will be “The Most Terrifying Film You Will Ever Experience”? You want to talk about setting the bar so insanely high you’re practically begging for a backlash.

These days you don’t even need to go the remake route anymore to milk a few more dollars out of a name property. Not when you can convert it to 3D and rerelease it to theaters 10-20 years later. Trailing behind Evil Dead, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and The Croods in fourth place with $18.2 million was Jurassic Park 3D - the adventure 30 million years in the making, now a 3D conversion 20 years in the making. That opening is better than both Titanic and Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace did the opening weekends of their 3D conversion rereleases.

3D dinosaurs > 3D shipwrecks > 3D Jar Jar Binks.

When you take into consideration that Jurassic Park already grossed more than half a billion dollars in 1993 dollars upon first release this 3D revival is merely extra gravy on an already mega profitable gravy train and an appetite wetter for next year’s Jurassic Park 4.

Should also make not that while it may be on its way out of the top 10, Brad Anderson’s thriller The Call has proved to be a minor hit, taking in around $43 million. Halle Berry should call Vince McMahon to tell him WWE Studios finally helped produce a money winner.

Next weekend we’ll see how well Evil Dead holds. More importantly, we’ll see how many suckers actually flock to see Scary Movie 5. You know who you are. Don’t be that person.

Lineup Announced For Hudson Horror Show 7, June 8 in Poughkeepsie, NY

Creepy Story Trailer Arrives For PuppeteerEasily one of the best film festivals in upstate New York, the Hudson Horror Show will be rearing its ugly head once again as the seventh installment of the event will be held at the Silver Cinemas in Poughkeepsie, NY on June 8. And what a lineup they have!

Headlined by a 20th anniversary screening of Army of Darkness, the lineup for Hudson Horror Show is, as fans of the event would expect, a combination of the classic and obscure in horror and sci-fi. Advance tickets can be purchased for just $26 on the official Hudson Horror Show website and you can 'like'Hudson Horror Show on Facebook and followHudson Horror Show on Twitter (@HudsonHorror).

From the Press Release
Listen up you primitive screw heads! The greatest horror and exploitation film festival in the Hudson Valley, Hudson Horror Show, returns to the famed Silver Cinemas South Hills 8 in Poughkeepsie, New York on Saturday, June 8th, 2013! This show is lucky number seven and it will feature five full length classic genre films along with shorts and drive-in style trailers, all on rare 35mm film prints!

As the saying goes, either you are in, or you are in the way! Well, Pope Benedict is out and in his honor we are proud to present the Hudson Valley premiere screening of Gone with the Pope! Duke Mitchell, who directed and starred in the legendary Massacre Mafia Style, also stars and directs this similarly themed but seldom screened exploitation flick. The film was thought to be 'lost' as it was made in the 70’s, but not released until 2010! The discovered film was put together by the great folks at Grindhouse Releasing (including Academy Award winner Bob Murawski) and garnered rave reviews. This screening will be the first time Gone with the Pope has ever played in the Hudson Valley.

Reaction to the trailer at our last show was so over whelming, we had to find the full-length feature of the monster movie classic, Infra-Man! Starring Danny Lee from John Woo’s The Killer and featuring a pack of Asian monsters that specialize in Kung Fu, Infra-Man (also known as Super Infra-Man) is a 70’s drive in schlocktacular from the legendary Shaw Brothers. Editorial: Missing the Mark: Why Evil Dead 2013 Doesn’t WorkThis piece contains some spoilers. When referring to Sam Raimi’s film, I will use “The Evil Dead,” while the remake will dispense of the definite article.

The notion of remaking Sam Raimi’s seminal 1981 splatterfest The Evil Dead was met with derision by many fans as soon as it was announced; the subsequent news that Ash would not be in the film certainly didn’t help assuage their fears. To die-hard fans, The Evil Dead IS Ash, his absence rendering any attempt to reboot the franchise a pointless endeavor. As the film went into production with an untested short film director at the helm, opinions were tempered as news and footage slowly revealed the film to be something to get excited about. It was dark, it was violent, and perhaps most importantly, Bruce Campbell gave the film his blessing, ensuring us that Fede Alvarez had crafted a suitable follow-up to The Evil Dead, yet with a number of crucial changes to distinguish itself from being a mere copy. The final product, however, is a different beast entirely.

Editorial: Missing the Mark: Why Evil Dead 2013 Doesn't Work

Alvarez created a pastiche that, although visually impressive, fails to be fully reconciled with the changes he made to the story. One such change is the set-up, which sees the addition of a subplot surrounding a forced detox, rather than a simple vacation, to get the quintet into the cabin. Addicted to drugs, Mia meets her brother David, his girlfriend Natalie, and friends Olivia and Eric at the cabin in a final attempt to break her habit cold turkey. In the throes of withdrawal, Mia begins to see and hear things, and, convinced she’s losing her mind, makes an attempt to escape before crashing the car into a lake. Meanwhile, the group discovers the Naturon Demonto and, as the resident academic, Eric feels compelled to examine it, unwittingly unleashing the demonic force spoken of in the book. It becomes drawn to Mia, tracking her down and possessing her in cringe-worthy fashion, kicking off a deluge of blood and violence that puts the original film to shame.

Perhaps the most striking difference between the two films is tone. While The Evil Dead is a horror movie through and through, Raimi’s love of The Three Stooges peeks modestly through the fountains of blood to provide subtly comedic elements that are not brought front and center until The Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn. The remake contains some humorous lines (Diablo Cody’s contributions can be pointed out with ease), but rarely is there an attempt to approach everything with the sort of levity brought about by the original’s low budget, its somewhat comical effects, and Bruce Campbell’s natural comedic sensibilities. As such, some of the more objectively weaker parts of the original film can be forgiven, and in some cases seen as an advantage, due to the context in which it was made.

Evil Dead is not afforded this luxury. With a $17 million budget at his disposal, Alvarez opted for a grittier and darker aesthetic, amplifying the violence and gore and invoking gravitas over the playfulness seen throughout the original, however subdued it may have been. Raimi and Co. give off the vibe of simply having fun, whereas Alvarez, burdened by the weight of updating an important franchise, dispenses with frivolity in an attempt to craft a serious and dark film. Unfortunately, this amounts to less an update than it is an homage to practical effects, which in turn comes at the expense of story, characters, and dialogue.

Preceded by an unnecessary pre-credits scene to help establish the mythology of the book and the house, the first act comes off as rushed and disjointed, hitting the necessary beats - arriving at the cabin, finding the book, the initial possession - at breakneck speed before getting to what can ostensibly be considered the real reason people are seeing the film: pure, unbridled carnage. This causes the detox subplot to lack any real merit; by the time Mia is possessed, it’s all but completely abandoned in favor of gallons of fake blood. The subplot is essential to the characters’ growth, yet by ignoring it for most of the film Alvarez is diminishing Mia’s struggle and her relationship with David to nothing more than a lazily written pretext to get them into the cabin.

For many, however, that’s irrelevant. It may lack quality acting, rich characters, and a compelling story, but so long as it pushes boundaries and hits a few nerves, it doesn’t matter. As such, many may choose to view the remake in much the same fashion: the gore the merrier, and to Hell with everything else. But is this a fair assessment to make? Should acting and dialogue and story be forgiven if it’s bloody enough? No, of course not, especially since falling back on this tired and frankly insulting argument dismisses the depth found in Raimi’s original script, specifically in his characters.

While Raimi’s story possesses an innately uninspired quality, he makes up for it by clearly defining his characters and their various roles, giving them a purpose extending beyond mere demon fodder. Ash is the shy and reluctant hero, madly in love with his bubbly girlfriend Linda; Scotty is the asshole who has absolutely no qualms with chopping up his girlfriend Shelly with an axe; and Ash’s sister Cheryl is the impetus through which Ash naturally progresses from reserved lover to heroic fighter.

These traits helped inform their actions and growth, bolstered by believable performances that added depth to a film that might have otherwise been devoid of it. Hoping to distance his film from the original while still paying homage to its characters, Alvarez took these various roles and traits, mixed them up, and assigned them to his own in an effort to serve his subplot, the speedy dismissal of which results in hollow and wooden characters that barely extend beyond clichés. They’re not characters, they’re punching bags.

Furthermore, this conflation of attributes doesn’t allow for an obvious hero. Cheryl is a catalyst for Ash, allowing him to evolve from a weakling to a lead worth celebrating, whereas Mia’s transition from victim to pseudo-hero does the exact opposite, killing any momentum the film might have by establishing David as the new Ash. Instead, Alvarez is too preoccupied with exceeding the original film’s sadistic tendencies to realize that without a clearly defined hero, all he has is a hodgepodge of gruesome death scenes tenuously strung together. By the time the third act arrives, we’re no longer rooting for David, we’re rooting for blood, and that’s not enough to sustain this film.

For the gorehounds, however, all of this might not even matter. Thanks to a higher budget and modern special effects techniques, Alvarez pushes the boundaries set by Raimi even further by re-creating the film for a world that has become all but completely desensitized to what The Evil Dead initially represented. It’s exceedingly visceral, with blood spraying from every orifice in gleeful fashion as the actors are put through much of the same Hell that befell their 1981 counterparts; if the point of the film was to drown you in blood, then it succeeded admirably. If anything, it’s a clarion call for those who seek to bring horror back to its dark and dirty roots when karo syrup was a horror filmmaker’s best friend.

For others, it’s a major bone of contention, and enough to miss the proverbial “forest for the trees.” Despite setting a new standard for what can be done without resorting entirely to CGI, Alvarez’s vision of “the ultimate experience in grueling terror” is little more than uninspired fan service, ultimately failing to fully distinguish itself as either a remake or a reboot. Instead, it’s an amalgamation of both, directionless and oftentimes boring, relying on admittedly impressive violence and gore to distract the viewer from its poorly conceived and executed subplot and underdeveloped characters. Evil Dead simply doesn’t work.

Meaghan Rath and Amy Aquino Talk the Being Human Season 3 Finale, if Donna Might Return, and Lots More

Meaghan Rath and Amy Aquino Talk the Being Human Season 3 Finale, if Donna Might Return, and Lots MoreThe Season 3 finale of "Being Human" airs tonight on Syfy, and one of its stars, Meaghan Rath, and guest star Amy Aquino sat down for a chat about what we can expect in the episode, entitled "Ruh Roh," and shared lots of other info from the show.

Q: What can you tell us about what we have to look forward to in the final episode?

Meaghan Rath: I think it's pretty obvious to everybody that things are coming to a head right now, especially for Sally. She's made this decision that she's going to let herself die and decompose. And she's forced to go through Donna's door and face her. So there's a big showdown. And more people are involved than you think. A lot of people are involved.

Q: In the finale are we going to see some new things popping up to possibly carry us into the next season? Or are we just going to wrap up the current business with Amy's character?

Meaghan Rath: Oh, come on. You actually think we would end the season without a cliffhanger?!?

Q: What would you say were the main themes for this season?

Meaghan Rath: Well, the theme for the season is ‘Be careful what you wish for.’ For the last two years we've seen these characters strive so hard to just retain a sense of the life that they've lost. And they wanted so bad just to fit in, and this season they've gotten what they wanted. And I think we're kind of realizing that we're in for more than we bargained for.

I think that to have the life that we really want comes at a big price. And it's kind of tragic because I don't know that these people will ever be happy in the way that they once were when they were human. And that's really what drives them. But I don't know that it's possible for them.

Q: What has been the weirdest scene that you got to do this season?

Amy Aquino:: Oh my God. Where do I begin? Kind of like eating sawdust off the floor was very interesting for me. It wasn't exactly sawdust, but it may as well as been. Being transformed physically was actually the really weirdest thing for me and really exciting and fun. It's a pretty extreme transformation, and I was really psyched about it, being able to do these prosthetics, and we had these brilliant makeup artists. And I had a very cool time sitting in the basement on those locations an hour outside of Montreal in the dead of night - and I'm talking about 3 a.m. surrounded by these three hot women and this very cool guy, with music blaring, turning me into a 200-year-old woman. It was very cool -- very cool. Got it on my phone.

And it was a lot of fun for me as Donna to be able to be involved with so many really cool people, I'll put it that way. I've spent most of my career, you know, playing judges who tell people to go to hell. And now I actually get to send them there. It's so much fun. It really is. I'm not a genre person just in terms of my own consumption nor in my career so I wasn't quite sure what to expect, and what I found were just tremendous, great, professional, sweet, really talented people who really give a crap and just give it 100%.

Meaghan Rath: And I think for me - [we have] to talk about the stuff that I've eaten this season. I've eaten everything… I've eaten 11 waffles and I threw up. I've eaten a mouse. The mouse scratched my face and shat all over me. I've eaten Sam Witwer. I'm mean it's really just adding up at this point.

Q: If you could title your characters' autobiographies, what would they be?

Amy Aquino:: I know mine -- "I'd Like to Have You Over for Dinner."

Meaghan Rath: That's really great. Mine would probably be called - probably something like "Living Dead Girl” or something… just “Living in a Material World” or like "Sally Malik: The Truth Behind Ghost Boners."

Meaghan Rath and Amy Aquino Talk the Being Human Season 3 Finale, if Donna Might Return, and Lots MoreQ: Meaghan, when we talked to Sam Witwer earlier in the season, he spoke about filming his favorite scene, and now that we've seen it, we're pretty sure he was talking about his conversation with you in the kitchen where you share your theory with him that his problem is that he's "backed up."

Meaghan Rath: Yes.

Q: Can you provide your perspective on that scene as well?

Meaghan Rath: Well… I definitely don't think that the writers meant for that to be a scene about sexual harassment in the way of Sally towards Aidan. It just sort of turned into that. It was just that kind of morning. And I think I started doing it as a joke in one of the rehearsals. And I just kind of went to a really interesting place, and that's what's so amazing about the man who directed that episode… he saw us doing this really weird stuff and was like, "Yes, go with it."

You know, he really embraces creativity and he loves when things go strange. So that's what happened with it. And we did end up ad-libbing some of the lines towards the end of the scene, but the real chunk of it was written. And just kind of turned out, you know, kind of in a way that Sam and I are in real life.

What I love most about it is that they kept it and it wasn't explained, never. And you see in the following couple of episodes we sort of do that little more. And by that I mean Sally sexually harasses Aidan a little bit, verbally. But I love that we never talk about it, because that's what it is in real life. You have, you know you live with somebody and you develop this relationship with them and a sort of shorthand and no one ever talks about it. So that's what I like about the show -- real, as real as it can get.

Q: Meaghan, can you talk a little about what it's been like for you to change your wardrobe finally?

Meaghan Rath: Everyone knows that by no means is our show a fashion show. It's not "Gossip Girl" or anything like that. But I think after two years of seeing me in the same thing, I wasn't the only one who was sick of that outfit -- all the fans were. And they were waiting for me to wear something else. That was the most popular question I got: Are you tired of wearing the same outfit? And yes, I was. So I was really excited when I was given this freedom to really create who this person is through her fashion sense. Because now we're really getting a sense of what Sally was like when she was alive and how she dressed herself and how she expressed herself.

And fashion for me is a huge part of my life because I feel like I can express myself that way. So I felt grateful when they gave me the opportunity to sort of create her look with our costume designer, Janet Campbell. And together we sort of decided on what kind of stuff she would buy, and it was a mix of some of the guys clothes and thrift shop finds, Janet went out and found some really amazing stuff for me and basically gave me the freedom to style it the way I wanted to and express myself in that way. So I felt really lucky to be a part of that process.

Q: You two have a great chemistry - what was it like working together?

Meaghan Rath: What's funny is that Sally and Donna's story is intertwined, and it has been the entire season, but Amy and I didn't really get a chance to work together until the end of the season. When I was brought back from the dead, that was Josh and Nora who were really dealing with Donna. She was definitely a presence in Sally's story but without ever really having that many scenes together.

So it was only at the end of the season that we got to come together. But I had a great time. And, you know, we might not have seen the last of Donna, which I'm really excited about because I'd love to work with Amy some more.

Meaghan Rath and Amy Aquino Talk the Being Human Season 3 Finale, if Donna Might Return, and Lots MoreAmy Aquino:: It’s mutual. I've done a lot of guest starring on shows. That's how I make my living. And you just never know how… especially when it's a tight cast that's been together for a long time, you don't know how you're going to be accepted. And I could not have been more warmly received by everybody. And obviously including Meaghan, we have just had a great time. We have a very similar sense of humor. We approached it very much the same way, and we had to get very close in certain ways.

We will see if we get to develop that further because Donna's a lonely girl. It's hard. She does not have this whole kind of Wiccan thing. She doesn't have any coven. She's like all on her own in a soup kitchen. So I'm sure she would like to have company - and she sees I think in Sally this fire and this spark and intelligence and courage that she admires and probably wants to kind of keep her around -- stay close to her. So we'll see. I don't know. Anything can happen in this damn show.

Q: For Amy, did you do any research to prepare for this role? It's the first time that you played a witch, right?

Amy Aquino:: It is. In terms of my research… I did some work on the Latin. I went to a Latin scholar who's a freshman at Columbia who did all my translating and helped me with that. But I'm not going to say that I did a whole lot of research on witches. I felt like… as much as they are not real… there was some leeway in how I portrayed her. I also felt like because this show is "Being Human," the more grounded and the more just absolutely matter of fact and humanoid she could be, the better off we were. So that the things she did that were witch-like were coming out of a place of being of what a human would do.

I thought it was very important to not make her too "out there" supernaturally. It's like, well, what would I do as a person who was hungry? You know, approach everything I needed to do as a human being would. I'm just doing different activities involving like hearts and sawdust and things like that.

Q: Any last thoughts on the season?

Meaghan Rath: Well, without revealing too much, I don't how much detail I can go into without ruining it. But… It's very scary. It was really physically demanding for all the people involved.

Amy Aquino:: I [was] ambivalent about the idea of possibly being destroyed as a character. But… on this… it's one of the very few shows where you know being killed has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not you're going to come back. Not that I'm killed or anything, but there's certainly this big standoff between me and Sally and various of her compatriots. And it doesn't necessarily turn out all that well for me… but who knows if dead is dead on this show. Damn.
