The upcoming sixth season of the hit HBO series "True Blood" may just be the bloodiest yet. Why? Because it sounds as if things are getting ready to come to a head and some big characters are about to meet their doom.

Rumors are flying within the "True Blood" fanbase that none other than Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård) himself will be meeting his maker in the afterlife... or afterunlife if you will. This began when Joe Manganiello, who plays werewolf Alcide Herveaux, told TVLine the following, “We’re getting to the point in the season now where people are starting to die. The table reads are starting to get smaller, and I’m sure they will continue to do that.”

The site goes on to say that Episode 7 of the upcoming season is entitled "The Funeral." While that doesn't sound like a definite end to Eric's reign of blood, it does sound like a major player is getting set to die so anyone is on the chopping block.

The usual gang - Sookie, Eric, Jason, Tara, Lafayette, Pam, Jessica, Alcide, Sam, and a new and improved(?) Bill - return in Season 6 along with the previously announced newbies Rutger Hauer (as a mysterious figure with deep ties to Sookie and Jason), "Rubicon"’s Arliss Howard (as Louisiana Governor Truman Burrell), "Friday Night Lights" star Jurnee Smollett-Bell (as do-gooder Nicole), Karolina Wydra (as Violet, a strong, sexy, possibly dangerous vamp), Luke Grimes (as a circa ’70s-made vamp who is smart, spiritual, and emotionally deeper than any other bloodsucker we’ve seen before), and "90210"’s Amelia Rose Blaire (as Howard’s onscreen daughter).

We've been talking about a possible Doctor Strange movie for a long time now. Years even. However, it's looking like we're getting a bit closer, and Marvel may have even found a star to play the devilish superhero.

According to C.H.U.D., a trusted industry source (take that for what it's worth) told them that Marvel is eyeballing someone that they already have a relationship with for the lead in a confirmed Phase Three project: Doctor Strange. His name? Actor/screenwriter Justin Theroux (pictured). There’s no word on whether or not he is the only one being looked at for the part of Stephen Strange, but the site reports that there is strong interest over at Marvel in seeing Theroux become the Sorcerer Supreme. In fact, it’s quite possible that he is already at work on the script.

We'll file this one under rumor for now and keep our ears open for more.

Created in 1963, Doctor Strange is the story of an arrogant surgeon who is injured in a car accident and goes on to become the Sorcerer Supreme of the Marvel universe. Using his magical powers, Strange protects the Earth from attacks from other realms.

From the twisted minds of executive producer Eli Roth and novelist Brian McGreevy comes Netflix's latest series, "Hemlock Grove," which will be released in its entirety on Friday, April 19th (look for a review of the first three episodes later this week).

"Hemlock Grove" stars Famke Janssen, Dougray Scott, Bill Skaarsgard, Landon Liboiron, Penelope Mitchell, and Lili Taylor and revolves around the mysterious murder of a teenage girl and the investigation into who - or what - may have caused her untimely and gruesome demise.

Dread Central recently chatted with co-stars Janssen and Scott about what attracted them to "Hemlock Grove" and the creative freedoms that working on a serialized show allowed them both, and they gave us a hint about their characters and what fans can expect from the first season.

Dread Central: I was able to see the first three episodes and really can't wait to finish the season up- it's really different than I was expecting, which I'm sure is something you've probably heard a lot today. Was the fact that this wasn't your typical drama a huge appeal to you?

Dougray Scott:Definitely. I also saw this as a new beginning in some ways; with the way that Netflix has begun distributing original programming, I really think it allows fans or audiences a way to see dramatic shows much differently than they used to. So that for me was what excited me the most.

Then when I realized that this was also based on a novel that was also really well done, I just knew we had an opportunity to do something different that had powerful and unique storytelling behind it, which is always something you hope for as an actor. So all those positive elements, plus working with Famke of course (laughs), were hugely influential in me taking on this role.

Famke Janssen:I completely agree with Dougray; for me, there were many reasons why I wanted to be a part of this show.  The one thing I always start with is, ‘Can I live with this character?’ When I realized I could, that was the first step. Then I looked at the novel, and that made my decision MUCH easier because it was so compelling.

But what I really appreciate about these stories and "Hemlock Grove" in particular is that it’s not the show you’re necessarily expecting. We take a lot of conventions and audiences’ notions of genre stories and characters and turn them completely on their head. Audiences are going to realize at the end of the 13 episodes that these characters they thought they were starting off with are nothing like they ever imagined once the first season is wrapped up.

I’m just really proud to be in the company that I’m in on "Hemlock Grove," and I think what Netflix is doing with their new distribution model, first with "House of Cards" and now with us, is really different and could change a lot of things in the industry. Plus, with the way that I’m designing my life now since I’m also directing and producing, to shoot all these episodes like we did all at once really gave me a lot of freedom to continue to pursue other avenues of my career at the same time, and with a lot of network shows you don’t get that kind of flexibility.

Dread Central: So let's talk about your characters; they're both parents who are definitely struggling with a lot of things both in their own lives and with their kids--

Famke Janssen:Yeah, I’m not really sure we can say either one of them are very good parents at all (laughs).

Dougray Scott:Yeah, I think there’s a certain sense of tragedy to what both of these parents go through in this show, and in some ways their children are dealing with tragic circumstances because of those decisions we made. What’s really funny to me is that Norman is the guy who is the first to criticize Olivia (Janssen’s character), but he’s just as guilty as she is. Just because maybe he isn’t necessarily ‘evil’ or whatever, you don’t necessarily see that in him at first, but yes, he’s completely messed up as a parent. And we play with those ideas a lot in this show.

Famke Janssen:And I would say that Olivia is overbearing and a bit manipulative, but what’s great about the character is that she’s always hard to figure out. She never shows the hand she’s playing with, which is a great thing to get to do as an actress. Sometimes it’s hard to tell if certain things are affecting her on an emotional level, but they really are; she’s just able to put forward that brave face so that you always think she’s in control of the situation…even when she’s not.

Dread Central: Does working in the television format allow you guys a lot more creative freedom then?

Dougray Scott:Absolutely; it’s also a great opportunity to dig deeper into characters and story when you have more time, and it’s even better when you’ve got a story that takes all these characters on some very interesting and engaging journeys like we have. Norman really does go through hell in the first season of "Hemlock Grove" so it will be interesting to see what happens next. If we get a ‘next’ that is (laughs).

Famke Janssen:Even though it's gotten better, there really are a lot of restrictions on network TV. "Hemlock Grove" feels very much more like a cable show since we were able to take a lot of risks, and that’s really appealing I think. And the format definitely does allow you that benefit of time to develop characters that maybe don’t seem important when the story first begins but as things unfold, you realize that all along the things that you may have thought going into this series aren’t true at all. We were also given a lot of room to do some wild and inventive things, and when you have such a talented cast, like you do with every single one of my co-stars, then only good things can happen.

Dread Central: Can you discuss what fans can expect from the first season of "Hemlock Grove" without giving too much away?

Famke Janssen:It's pretty crazy (laughs); some things do get wrapped up, but we also leave so much open to explore in a second season. All the characters really transform too - in more than one way in some instances - and I'm really proud of our work on it. And with Olivia, we definitely find out more about her, but because she's so complicated, I do hope I get to explore her world more in the future.

Dougray Scott:There's a lot of material in the novel, but there's also a lot of ways we can take these stories in the future too. I also think people are going to be blown away by the werewolves- that was something from the novel that I wasn't sure how it would translate onto the screen, but it really works. Did you get to see it?

Dread Central: I did; it's really a different approach, which I thought was pretty cool.

Dougray Scott:Me too; I love that it's a really violent process but visually striking too. I've never seen anything like it before.

Synopsis:
"Hemlock Grove" is a riveting one-hour murder mystery that revolves around the residents of a former Pennsylvania steel town. When 17-year-old Brooke Bluebell is brutally murdered, any of Hemlock’s peculiar inhabitants – or killer creatures – could be suspects. Through the investigation the town’s seamier side is exposed, revealing nothing is what it seems. Beautiful, terrifying, and graphic, "Hemlock Grove" is unlike anything else in its genre.

Well... that was even faster than we thought. Apparently, if you have Amazon Instant, you can head on over and watch the pilot episode of their new series "Zombieland" right now. Or at least that's what the trailer suggests. Check it out!

“Zombieland” is based on the hit Columbia Pictures movie of the same name and finds four survivors outwitting zombies and searching for a place to call home. The Zombieland pilot comes from the feature film’s original creative team, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (G.I. Joe: Retaliation,"The Joe Schmo Show"), and producer Gavin Polone (“Gilmore Girls,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm”). Eli Craig (Tucker and Dale vs. Evil) directed the pilot.

For those of you thinking I meant to write "Hostile" instead of "Hostel" in that headline, you're mistaken. Also mistaken is the person who designed this next one-sheet for No One Lives if they think it's original. I guess a little Hostel Part II goes a long way.

No One Lives, written by David Cohen and directed by Ryuhei Kitamura, is a smart and original horror movie with at its heart a killer in the grip of a dark and twisted love affair.

A couple of days ago we brought you the first - slightly blurry - look at the official sales one-sheet for Where the Devil Hides (formerly The Occult and The Devil's Rapture) from the Las Vegas CinemaCon. Now we have a better look. It's like putting on glasses for the first time!

Synopsis

Synopsis
Heidi, a blonde rock chick, DJs at a local radio station and, together with the two Hermans (Whitey and Munster), forms part of the "Big H Radio Team". A mysterious wooden box containing a vinyl record arrives for Heidi, "a gift from the Lords". She assumes it's a rock band on a mission to spread their word. As Heidi and Whitey play the Lords' record, it starts to play backwards, and Heidi experiences a flashback to a past trauma.

Later Whitey plays the Lords' record, dubbing them the Lords of Salem, and to his surprise, the record plays normally and is a massive hit with listeners.

The arrival of another wooden box from the Lords presents the Big H Team with free tickets, posters and records to host a gig in Salem. Soon Heidi and her cohorts find that the gig is far from the rock spectacle they're expecting: The original Lords of Salem are returning, and they're out for BLOOD.

We haven't talked much about Dead Mine, a co-production of HBO Asia and Singapore-based Infinite Studios, but with XLrator Media poised to release the Indonesian flick on Blu-ray and DVD in the US on May 28th, we've gotten our hands on its trailer and artwork.

Directed and co-written (with Ziad Semaan) by UK director Steven Sheil (Mum & Dad), the film stars cult Japanese action star Miki Mizuno (Bayside Shakedown), Ario Bayu, UK actors Sam Hazeldine and Les Loveday, and Malaysian actress Carmen Soo.

Dark Horse Comics and Sequential Pulp Comics proudly announce THE HALLOWEEN LEGION™, a new graphic novel written by Martin Powell (Mars Attacks Popeye), illustrated by Thomas Boatwright and Diana Leto.

The sleepy rural town of Woodland is protected by a mysterious group of extraordinary guardians. They come from a place of eternal October, where orange, gold, and crimson leaves follow you in the autumn breeze.

THE HALLOWEEN LEGION characters - The Skeleton, The Witch, The Ghost, The Devil, and Autumn the Black Cat - are the creations of writer Martin Powell and illustrator Diana Leto, who share a passion for All Hallows' Eve.

“I had the notion for The Halloween Legion, a team made up from Halloween archetypes, when I was still in high school, but it’s taken this long for me to know who they really are,” Powell explains. “Diana has added considerably to their visual and personal charm. She instinctively knows the World’s Weirdest Heroes as well as I do, and they are very real to us. The art by Thomas Boatwright captures the HL’s whimsical nature without diluting the darkness lurking within our little group of weirdos. At last, they are ready to be born into comics and graphic novels – and now every day will be Halloween!”

Also included in the full-length graphic novel is Martin Powell’s autobiographical “Once Upon a Halloween,” illustrated by Diana Leto. The eerie tale is, according to Powell, his very own origin story.

"This is such a wonderful project to work on,” adds co-creator Leto. “The story really brings back some magical childhood memories of Halloween, and the message that Martin's ‘weird’ characters deliver is an important one for children and adults."

Sequential Pulp Comics is a graphic novel imprint distributed by Dark Horse Comics, specializing in works of classic and new pulp literature. Producer Michael Hudson says, “Martin and Diana’s characters have depth and soul. I fell in love with them from day one. The stories are pure pulp fun that will hook everyone.”

No firm release date has been announced other than "soon" so keep it here for more as it comes.

Universal Pictures'R.I.P.D. stars Ryan Reynolds, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon, Stephanie Szostak, Mary-Louise Parker, Marisa Miller, Mike O'Malley, James Hong, Tobias Segal, and Robert Knepper.

Robert Schwentke directed the project, which follows a murdered cop (Reynolds) who is recruited to work in the Rest in Peace Department, a police force comprised of ghosts who battle spirits unready to depart this world. Jeff Bridges plays Reynolds' ghostly partner.

Universal Pictures' supernatural farce has been scheduled for July 19, 2013.

After just one episode (albeit one that helped set a record), Starz has greenlit a second season of its original series "Da Vinci's Demons." We guess genius like Da Vinci's really can't be contained!

Starz Chief Executive Officer Chris Albrecht announced a second season order for the Starz Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons” following its recent record-setting first season weekend debut on Friday, April 12. The historical fantasy created by David S. Goyer and produced by Adjacent Productions follows the "untold" story of the world's greatest genius, Leonardo da Vinci, during his turbulent youth in Renaissance Florence. More than 2.14 million total viewers tuned in opening weekend to “Da Vinci’s Demons,” making it the highest-rated premiere weekend ever for a Starz Original series.

Production of Season Two of “Da Vinci’s Demons” is expected to begin in Wales in May 2013, with an on-air return expected on Starz in 2014.

“'Da Vinci’s Demons' serves up action, adventure, and history in a unique and highly entertaining way that only someone like David S. Goyer can,” said Albrecht. “The first season premiered to strong audience engagement, and we are excited to bring the next chapter of Leonardo da Vinci’s adventures to audiences around the world.”

For our money the most interesting character on "The Following" is Joe's right-hand man, Roderick, portrayed by Warren Kole. Fox must agree because they've released a behind-the-scenes look at his recent escape.

As the video demonstrates, in Episode 1.13, "Havenport," Roderick showed himself to be even more dangerous and deadly than anyone thought previously. You can check it out below, but if you missed the episode, it repeats this Saturday night, April 20th.

The Havenport Police Department is brought onto the case, and Roderick’s (Warren Kole) role as sheriff is called into question, which leads him to make a shocking decision that threatens the safety of Joey (Kyle Catlett).
