Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and the BAU team track a serial killer whose bloody ritual includes cutting the victims' back flesh and stretching it to look like angel wings. Returning to the field weighs heavily on Will's psyche, and Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) tries to drive a wedge between Will and Jack (Laurence Fishburne).

Meanwhile, Jack Crawford's wife, Bella (Gina Torres), pulls away from him and begins seeing Hannibal as her therapist in an effort to come to terms with the fact she is dying. Beverly (Hettienne Park) tries to connect with Will on a more personal level. Also starring Caroline Dhavernas, Aaron Abrams, and Scott Thompson.

Super7 has updated its website with some hero shots of the company's upcoming action figure line based on the original Alien, and we have all the images for you right here. Prepare to drool like a Xenomorph if only because of their retro-style kitsch value!

The year was 1979. Toy giant Kenner was presumably searching for the next action figure line to rival its own success with Star Wars. Along came another science fiction spectacle in the shape of Ridley Scott's Alien. An odd choice for a line of children's action figures, but Kenner designed prototypes for five figures to be made once the larger Xenomorph did a market trial run. For whatever reason, they were never made.

Fast-forward 33 years, and enter Super7, who managed to unearth these designs with the intent of making them a wonderful reality! With official permission from 20th Century Fox, Super7 is producing the full set of Alien figures as a subset of its Reaction series (a line of all retro figures).

This means you can own 1979 incarnations of Ripley, Dallas, Ash, Kane in Nostromo Suit, and of course, the Big Chap (on-set name for the xenomorph). Excited? Super7 says other Alien merchandise will follow, and we'll be sure to keep you updated on every piece of it.

These are due out this summer priced at an SRP of $19.99 each. The series consists of what would have been the entire first wave.

A bit of distribution news has come our way from the Tribeca Film Festival... Anchor Bay has acquired all North American rights for the film Mr. Jones, one of the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival's Midnight selections.

"This is a unique and original film that will keep horror fans guessing throughout. [Producer] Ross [Dinerstein] has once again demonstrated his talent and passion for producing genre films,” says Anchor Bay’s Kevin Kasha.

Mr. Jones, from writer/director Karl Mueller, stars Sarah Jones, Jon Foster, and Mark Steger and is a journey into a nightmare that’s so real, even daylight brings no relief.

Synopsis:
Scott and Penny just moved to a remote cabin to escape the pressures of the world and breathe new life into their art. Their only neighbor for miles is a strange hermit who only comes out at night, under the shroud of darkness. As Scott and Penny get deeper into his world, they start to suspect that this man is actually an infamous artist known only as "Mr. Jones" and they've stumbled across a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to document his bizarre existence.

So what if movies like the recently released Evil Dead have raked in millions at the box office? I mean, who cares, right? Apparently not theatre owners, who have pleaded their case at CinemaCon Vegas that they need fewer R-rated films to help falling ticket sales bounce back.

At this year's event John Fithian, president and chief executive of the National Association of Theater Owners, used the spotlight to complain about a glut of R-rated films. He said attendance had suffered this year because of “the weight of too many R-rated movies.”

“Make more family-friendly films and fewer R-rated titles,” Fithian said. “Americans have stated their choice.” North America is down 12 percent in box office sales so far this year compared to last. So of course R-rated movies are the problem. It couldn't possibly be anything else like the advancement of home theatre technology and not having to deal with the constant annoyance of some morons and their friends texting each other and using their cellphones. No, that couldn't be it at all. I mean, spending a ludicrous amount of money between ticket prices and concession stand goodies just to be completely distracted by a sea of dickheads with no regard for anyone but themselves is definitely not part of the problem. Why should the experience be enjoyable?

Not to mention the (poor) quality of the movies being churned out as a means to find the next phenomenon amongst young adults that are complete shit and under-perform because they suck and are sub-par pieces of bullshit with a neatly placed Hollywood bow on top. No way that could be part of the problem. It HAS to be the rating! Who cares about the millions brought in by movies like Ted, Evil Dead, and The Hangover franchise? Those are clearly just isolated instances. It's the friggin' R rating man! It has to be!

Last summer we learned that Christopher Rice would be releasing The Heavens Rise, his first supernatural novel, this year, and now we have more details on the story's synopsis, artwork, and release date.

Midnight Releasing’s next big horror film release Hayride will be hitting shelves on May 7th, 2013. Hayride will also be available for rental at Redbox and is currently able to be saved in your Netflix user’s queue.

Hayride was filmed in Southern Alabama and is loosely based on the childhood experiences of the director, Terron R. Parsons, whose family used to have an annual haunted hayride attraction. The cast includes Mississippi native Sherri Eakin, who is no stranger to independent horror movies, Jeremy Ivy, and veteran actor Richard Tyson (Kindergarten Cop; Black Hawk Down; Me, Myself & Irene). The film follows a college student returning home for Halloween who is forced to face his childhood fears when an escaped killer takes refuge in his family’s haunted hayride attraction. Just like Thomas, the Gladers don’t know why or how they got to the Glade. All they know is that every morning the stone doors to the maze that surrounds them have opened. "Defiance" introduces a world where humans and aliens live together on a planet ravaged by decades of war and transformed by alien terra-forming machines. It centers on Jeb Nolan (Grant Bowler), the law-keeper in a bustling frontier boomtown that is one of the new world’s few oases of civility and inclusion. Nolan is a former Marine who fought in the alien conflict and suffered the loss of his wife and child in the war. The trauma transformed him into a lone wanderer in the wilds of this new and dangerous world.

The series stars Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, Stephanie Leonidas, Tony Curran, Jaime Murray, Fionnula Flanagan, Mia Kirshner, and Oscar nominee Graham Greene. "Defiance" is executive produced by Rockne O’Bannon ("Farscape"), Kevin Murphy ("Desperate Housewives,""Caprica"), and Michael Taylor ("Battlestar Galactica"). Kevin Murphy serves as showrunner. "Defiance" is produced by Universal Cable Productions.

On May 10th The Paley Center for Media is celebrating "Bates Motel" with a special episode preview screening and conversation with members of the cast and creative team.

Developed by executive producers Carlton Cuse ("Lost") and Kerry Ehrin ("Friday Night Lights"), "Bates Motel" serves as a contemporary prequel to the genre-defining Alfred Hitchcock film Psycho, giving viewers an intimate portrayal of how Norman Bates’ psyche unravels through his teenage years. Centered on one of the medium’s most deeply intricate mother-son relationships, "Bates Motel" has reinvented the world around its core characters, placing Norman (Freddie Highmore) and his mother, Norma (Vera Farmiga), in the context of the eerily “perfect” town of White Pine Bay and populating that town with residents whose own personal mysteries unfold in surprising ways.

Executive producer Carlton Cuse notes, “Norman Bates is one of the more iconic characters in the history of cinema.
