We're not exactly sure who's craving Outpost III: Rise of the Spetsnaz after the horrid second film, but hopefully this Nazi zombie-driven train can be saved from derailment. That being said, here's the trailer.

An official trailer for Renny Harlin's The Dyatlov Pass Incident has come in from the cold courtesy of our friends across the pond, and we have every frigid and frightening second of it right here for your mass consumption. Dig it!

The fact-based film concerns a mysterious incident in 1959, when nine experienced hikers were found dead. It finds contemporary students on a trek to investigate the mystery. Producers are Alexander Rodnyansky, Kia Jam, Harlin, and Sergei Bespalov.

Harlin said: "I was fascinated by this story, which remains one of the great unsolved mysteries of modern paranormal lore. The facts, the script, and the very dramatic setting convinced me that there is a thrilling movie there, just waiting to rivet audiences."

Want to know a bit more? In a nutshell the Dyatlov Pass Incident (as it is known) refers to an unsolved mystery that occurred in the northern Urals which saw a group of ski hikers tear open their tent from the inside and leave barefoot in a heavy snowstorm. Though there was no sign of a struggle, two victims had fractured skulls, one was missing her tongue, and clothing belonging to the victims contained high levels of radiation. Soviet investigators concluded that "a compelling unknown force" had caused their deaths.

Synopsis
The Dyatlov Pass Incident follows a group of students on a trek to investigate the true life mystery of nine Russian skiers who befell an unexplained death while skiing in the Russian mountains in 1959. To this day, their deaths have been one of the most bizarre unsolved mysteries of the 20th century.

It's nearly impossible to talk about the original classic flick The Lost Boys without either mentioning or secretly thinking about the EPIC SAX MAN. Note my usage of CAPS LOCK to underline his significance. One clever YouTube user by the name of Yeedeed remembers all too well.

Below you'll find a video which he edited together of EPIC SAX MAN, real name withheld to keep his mystique intact, seducing one of the film's main characters, Michael, who was played with gusto and engorged hormones by a really young Jason Patrick. Clocking in at just over three minutes, we hope that one day Yeedeed revisits this video and turns it into a ten-hour long remix filled with man lust and feverishly thrusting hips.

The director of Cockneys vs. Zombies, Matthias Hoene, has a new short that's getting ready to air on the UK's Channel 4 and GiffGaff, a mobile network, and we have a teaser for it right here.

Entitled Don't Be Scared, the short airs tonight, Wednesday 29th May, at 10.15pm. As soon as it hits online, and it inevitably will, we'll bring it to you. Why? Because it has zombies in it, and zombies are one of the few things that make us smile ear-to-ear. Maybe even wider than that. Stay tuned for it!

Ready for another look at "In the Flesh," BBC America's three-night zombie event that begins next week? In England the dead aren't just rising from the grave... They're returning home!

Synopsis:
"In the Flesh" explores a post-zombie-uprising - from the zombie’s perspective. The series follows 18-year-old Kieren Walker (Luke Newberry; Anna Karenina, Quartet), a Partially Deceased Syndrome (PDS) sufferer who, now treated with the medication Neurolax, is deemed ready to return to his parents’ home in the small village of Roarton. Since the passing of the PDS Protection Act, the government has set an agenda of acceptance and tolerance, one that is at odds with the communities abandoned at the time of The Rising and the bloody battle between zombies and humans that ensued. Feeling trapped at home, Kieren escapes to his grave, where he is reunited with his old hunting partner, Amy Dyer, who persuades him to take a dangerous day trip. Kieren discovers that Rick, his former best mate who died in Afghanistan, is back in town. Amy convinces Kieren to go and see him at The Legion. After an awkward reunion, Kieren finds himself on an HVF hunting mission in the woods, where the night patrol has reported live rabid zombies roaming free.

After visiting the supermarket where he used to hunt with Amy, Kieren remembers that Jem once spared his life. Together, brother and sister confront the demons in their pasts and visit Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster (the parents of the girl from Kieren’s flashbacks, who fell victim to Kieren and Amy in the supermarket). Kieren feels momentarily better but then has to say goodbye to Amy, who is leaving Roarton in search of The Prophet. Will Kieren and Rick be able to find peace and acceptance as PDS sufferers in this highly-charged new world?

Synopsis

This year we’ve decided to do Limited Edition Steelbooks for both DEMONS and DEMONS 2, with exclusive new cover art by the amazing Wes Benscoter. Just a few months ago Dread Central was invited on a visit to the set of James Wan's highly anticipated sequel Insidious Chapter 2, which was using the super creepy (and most likely haunted) Linda Vista Hospital in Los Angeles as its primary shooting location.

During our set visit we had the opportunity to tour Linda Vista, which is not only being used for a hospital setting but is also being utilized as a soundstage of sorts, with sets being constructed inside the hospital that incorporate locations we first saw in Insidious (more on that soon). As someone who has been lucky enough to tour Linda Vista for several other productions, it seemed like an unusual choice to build an entire living room or bedroom inside the hospital, but in reality it was a decision that was demonstrative of the production's indie roots, which chose to go the creative route for their flashback scenes.

We also toured parts of the hospital that were being used that day and featured returning co-stars Leigh Whannell, Barbara Hershey and a new character named Carl (Steve Coulter), who are having a discussion about an unfortunate soul who castrated himself.

OUCH!

After we finished up watching more shooting with the trio, we headed into a press conference-style room to chat with Whannell, Hershey, Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, producer Jason Blum and director Wan, who joined us just a little bit later on in our conversation with the gang from Insidious Chapter 2. During the conversation, we heard more on what fans can expect from the sequel (which also happens to be kind of a prequel), their thoughts on collaborating and much more. Wan also hinted to us during the set visit that this sequel might be his last horror film (we of course now know that Wan has picked up the Fast & Furious mantle for part 7, which THRILLS us to no end) and both he and Whannell discussed just what makes them click as collaborators.

Read on for a breakdown of the five major things we learned during our set visit, and tomorrow we'll be posting a Q&A with the cast as well as Blum and Wan for Insidious Chapter 2. Look for the sequel's trailer to debut soon with the film arriving in theaters on September 13th.

Here are the five things we learned:

The Entire Original Cast is Back:Insidious Chapter 2 is a direct sequel to Wan's original 2011 film; when we meet with the cast at the conclusion of our tour of Linda Vista, they're all wearing the very same clothes we saw them in at the conclusion of Insidious and inform us that a few of these characters are now stuck in "The Further" and others are left picking up the pieces in real-life. Whannell commented on the continuation by saying, "It's surreal to see everyone; this is a sequel that brings back everyone from the first film so it just feels surreal. And they're also all wearing the same clothes they wore in the first film so as you can tell, they're stuck in 'The Further.'"

Insidious Chapter 2 is Also Prequel of Sorts: During our set visit tour, we learn that the story in the sequel return to the family's second home living room which was reconstructed inside the hospital for a scene that further explores just what really happened to Lin Shaye at the conclusion of Insidious. Those shots will be used specifically to marry the two films together.

Later on in the tour, we also visit the chapel inside the Linda Vista where production has reconstructed Callie's bedroom from the first home for another special scene. There are also some pivotal flashback hospital scenes from the 1980's involving Barbara Hershey's character interacting with other recognizable faces from the first Insidious, but the iconic actress will be portrayed by rising star Jocelin Donahue (House of the Devil, The Burrowers) for those scenes.

The Linda Vista Hospital is Not Only the Primary Shooting Location but Also a Creepy Prop House: During our tour, we visit a records room that will serve as a location for Insidious Chapter 2 but rather than haul in thousands and thousands of sheets of paper and folders, production utilized the real records they discovered left behind throughout the Linda Vista, some even dating back to 1905. We were also told that some of the prop guys reportedly sensed something around them as they culled the entire facility for records so it was now a rule on set that everyone travels in groups of two or more.

Expect More of "The Further" in Insidious Chapter 2: Whannell explained during our interviews that audiences will be experiencing more of the other-worldly realm in this second chapter in their story. "It's hard to say without ruining it but I would say that this film definitely spends a little more time. At the end the first Insidious, we just follow Patrick's character in there and I'd say this film starts from a point where we have more knowledge of this place. I feel like everyone's living in this world and trying to take it seriously so hopefully this second film, even though it includes these ideas like The Further, will still feel like it's firmly based in reality."

Whannell added, "One of the great things about a haunted house movie is watching unsuspecting people slowly uncover something is wrong. With Chapter Two, we're using the same family and we're missing the lack of knowledge you would normally get; we're not changing to a different family so we needed to come up with something really scary. So when something peeks around the corner, they're not like 'What's that?'

"They know exactly what it is (laughs). But I do think we came up with something that could scare the family anew; something that could turn it around and different angle and it almost takes the film into a new genre. Almost.

The Ghosts at Linda Vista are (Un)Alive and Kicking: While this writer remains a total skeptic when it comes to the world of the paranormal, a few stories were exchanged while visiting the set of Insidious Chapter 2 that gave me goosebumps, including one from Whannell who described a spooky encounter he and his wife had one night while doing some ghost hunting.

According to Whannell, "So I've been here twice after midnight with ghost hunters- we found these guys on the internet and we went to dinner with them and then they brought us here to Linda Vista, which I didn't know existed at the time. The one security guard lets us in and we walk into this ostensibly abandoned hospital where all the equipment and files have been left as they were on the day it closed down. So then later, I came here with my wife and we sat in the surgical room which is supposedly the most haunted room according to these guys; we sat in the dark for an hour going, 'is anyone there?' and lo and behold, no one says 'yes.' So we leave and my wife said, 'that was such a bummer, I wanted to see a ghost.' She said she was sitting there so excited to see a ghost and kept said 'if there's a ghost in here show yourself- possess me, do whatever you have to do.'"

"So then a few months later her friend buys her a voucher to go see this psychic and he basically asked her, 'have you been to this place recently?' She said, 'we kind of went on this ghost hunt' and the guy was like, 'you can never go there again. You came this close to taking something home with you.' He asked her if she had seen any blue lights and she told him that she had remembered looking up and seeing these little blue pin lights; she thought it was when you can't see anything and see all these shapes and colors happen in front of your eyes. And he said, 'that was your aunt and your stepbrother holding back the spirits.'"

The famed horror team of director James Wan and writer Leigh Whannell reunite with the original cast of Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, and Ty Simpkins in Insidious Chapter 2, a terrifying sequel to the acclaimed horror film, which follows the haunted Lambert family as they seek to uncover the mysterious childhood secret that has left them dangerously connected to the spirit world.

Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions is producing (with Alliance financing). FilmDistrict will distribute the film theatrically in the United States, with Sony handling the majority of domestic ancillary rights. Alliance will distribute in Canada, the U.K. (through its Momentum Pictures subsidiary), and Spain (through Aurum); and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions will distribute in all other international territories.

Trion Worlds'Defiance has experienced crippling problems since its launch from server instability to outages. However, even with all of these problems at hand, Trion Worlds plans to bring the game to next-gen consoles. Read on to learn more.

"At a point in time when those consoles are in the market, we'd very much like to be on them," Trion World's Executive Producer Nathan Richardsson said. "You should be able to continue your PS3 experience on the PS4, and the 360 experience on whatever it is that's coming out. The way we'd do it is, the first iteration would be using the same client that we have. There shouldn't be any need for a port. We're essentially just moving our client between consoles — it's the same client."

It stars Ethan Hawke, Lena Headey, and Adelaide Kane.

Synopsis

Synopsis

Written and directed by Sonny Laguna through Swedish-based production company Stockholm Syndrome Films, the English-language film premiered at London’s FrightFest in 2011. With a classic, terrifying villain, Blood Runs Cold showcases the far-reaching talent of its filmmakers to deliver a film that truly keeps you chilled to the end. Written and produced with frequent collaborators Tommy Wiklund and David Liljeblad, Laguna continues to put an excited spotlight on the Swedish horror scene. Influenced by the works of Raimi and Carpenter, Blood Runs Cold follows a successful artist looking to get away, who is joined by some friends in a rented cabin in a remote village. Mireille Enos ("Big Love", "The Killing") plays his wife, a mother of two girls. Their co-stars include Eric West, Matthew Fox, David Morse, and James Badge Dale.

We've all seen bumper stickers that proclaim, “My kid is on the honor roll at H.P. Lovecraft Elementary" (not a real school, calm down). If you're like me, your first thought is, “Yeah, and your kid is going to need therapy in ten years for not meeting your unreachable expectations."

Be honest, though; don’t you wish you could brag about your kid to unsuspecting drivers? But, you say, all my kid does is just sit, stare at the wall and talk to an unknown friend. Well, never fear - your child might be more special than you know!

According to this article on New Jersey Online, Jason Hawes (pictured; "Ghost Hunters") believes most kids are more open to the spirit world than adults.

“Many times, when I am contacted by someone having a paranormal situation, I am informed that their child or children are playing with invisible friends and that they talk to things that are not there,” Hawes wrote. “People want to understand why their children are doing this.”

See? Now you can you can put this on the back of your car: “My kid can talk to an 18th Century dead Revolutionary War general; what can yours do?”

Actually, we like that more than the honor roll thing. Hawes goes on to note that parents should be open-minded and not be so quick to dismiss their child’s imagination. He believes parents should nurture kids’ ability to talk to spirits...

Unless it’s the ghost of the parent you hit with your car for their obnoxious honor roll bumper sticker. That might get awkward.

Yesterday we brought you the preview for Matthias Hoene's new short that was getting ready to air on the UK's Channel 4 and GiffGaff, a mobile network. Today we're gonna stop the teasing and bring you the whole damned thing!

As previously reported, the flick is entitled Don't Be Scared, and it aired yesterday. We promised you that as soon as it hit online, we'd bring it to you. Why? Because it has zombies in it, and zombies are one of the few things that make us smile ear-to-ear. Maybe even wider than that. Now stop jabbering and start watching!

Following up on the news that came out of the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival that filming on Jim Mickle's adaptation of Joe R. Lansdale's Cold in July is set to begin in late July, we now have word on the first actor to join the cast.

Per Deadline, Michael C. Hall, whose final season as Showtime’s signature serial killer "Dexter" starts June 30th, has just landed the lead role in the film. He'll play the protagonist, Richard Dane, who shoots and kills an armed burglar in his living room. It’s a clear-cut case of self-defense to everyone but the burglar’s father, who vows Old Testament-style eye-for-an-eye justice, which means son for son. The cops, the feds, and the Dixie Mafia all play a part in the ensuing mayhem.

Paris-based Backup Media has teamed up with Memento Films International to finance Cold in July. Adapted by Nick Damici and Mickle, the film is being produced by Belladonna Productions’ Rene Bastian, Adam Folk, and Linda Moran — frequent Mickle collaborators.

Memento Films International will handle foreign sales and team up with WME Global on the domestic end, as they did on the eOne deal for Mickle’s last film, We Are What We Are.
