It may just be an "appearance" or it may be an actual recurring role, we can't be sure, but at least word has come from Ryan Murphy himself that yes, Jessica Lange will be returning to "American Horror Story" for Season Two.

During a recent visit to Bravo's "Watch What Happens: Live", "AHS" creator Murphy told host Andy Cohen that Lange will be back, but of course no other details were revealed. It really shouldn't be a huge surprise considering all the acclaim she's received for playing Constance during the show's first season, but having firm confirmation sure did make our day... our week... hell, our month!

A new viral video in promotion of Adam Green and Joe Lynch's new show for FEARnet, "Holliston", has hit the interwebs; and it could be the funniest thing you've seen all week. Check it out!

"Holliston," from the twisted mind of genre favorite Adam Green (Hatchet, Hatchet II, Frozen), makes its official debut on FEARnet television Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012, at 10:30 p.m. ET, with a special sneak preview event hosted by Green and co-star Joe Lynch (Knights of Badassdom, Wrong Turn 2), on Sunday, April 1st.

“Holliston,” FEARnet’s first original scripted television show, is a riotous and offbeat multi-camera, buddy comedy set in the town of Holliston (near Boston). Described by its creators as "The Big Bang Theory" meets Evil Dead II,” the series shines a light on the post-college life where everything is a struggle, and nothing works out like it’s supposed to, with terrifyingly funny results as Adam and Joe struggle to become big-time horror filmmakers and make ends meet.

“Holliston” stars Green and Lynch along with Corri English (Unrest, The Bedford Diaries, lead singer of Brokedown Cadillac), Laura Ortiz (The Hills Have Eyes, Horton Hears A Who), Dee Snider ("Celebrity Apprentice", Twisted Sister, Strangeland, radio/television personality), and Oderus Urungus (Alien lead singer from legendary heavy metal band GWAR). The regular cast will welcome a bevy of guest stars and celebrity cameos during its first season. Upcoming guest appearances include:

· Colton Dunn (Hatchet II, “Parks and Recreation”)
· Danielle Harris (Halloween 4 and 5)
· Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th Parts VII and VIII, Hatchet)
· John Landis (An American Werewolf in London, Animal House)
· Derek Mears (Friday the 13th)
· Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects)
· Brian Posehn (“The Sarah Silverman Show”)
· Parry Shen (Hatchet, Better Luck Tomorrow)
· Tony Todd (Candyman, Hatchet)

Jurassic Shark Trailer Now With Actual Shark Attack Footage

$
0
0

When last we heard about Brett Kelly’s Jurassic Shark it was the end of November when the first trailer surfaced online – a trailer for a killer shark movie with very little shark in it. This new trailer is more or less the same but with the computerized shark actually doing more than just swimming about not doing anything.

When an oil company unwittingly unleashes a prehistoric shark from its icy prison, the Jurassic killer maroons a group of art thieves and college students on an abandoned island.

Emanuelle Carriere, Christine Emes, and Celine Filion fill some of the bikinis potentially on this prehistoric shark’s dinner menu.

The previous Jurassic Shark trailer was quite underwhelming because it was mostly a collection of reaction shots, hints of potential carnage, and random shots of a digital shark swimming about not really doing anything. This new trailer actually shows us a few of the shark attacks and some of the other tricks this monster shark has up its fins.

If anything, the differences between the two trailers should be a lesson to indie filmmakers not to release the first trailer for their movie to the public before they’re really ready to show off their movie goods.

Thanks to Avery Guerra for the head’s up.

Sarah Greyson Grabs Role in Live-In FearBrandon Scullion is proud to be making his feature writing and directorial debut with the upcoming movie Live-In Fear. The film is currently in pre-production as roles are being defined. Aside from Scullion helming the project, horror veteran Maria Olsen is in the cast and now a new name has been added.

Hollywood veteran Sarah Greyson will take on a lead role which will have her traipsing around the Utah wilderness fighting off all kinds of nastiness. You can read more about the film at the Live-In Fear movie blog.

From the Press Release
Brandon Scullion’s so-cool-it’s-frozen horror feature Live-In Fear announces the casting of one of its four leading roles!! Sarah Greyson – a veteran of the Los Angeles theater scene with at least ten years of experience in fighting in the LA theatrical trenches – has landed the breakout role of Rebecca, a morbidly obsessive actress who finds herself wandering the Utah wilderness facing murderous cults, vengeful gods and unfaithful boyfriends. Greyson’s combination of winning looks and acting chops will, no doubt, combine to make her performance as Rebecca one that will stay in the viewer’s mind long after the film’s final credits have rolled.

Greyson’s experiences in the Hollywood acting scene have, to date, been many and varied, and, apart from her stage pursuits, they include television series and documentaries. She is a native of Edmond, Oklahoma and currently based in Los Angeles, CA and has been working in the film and television industry for the last 10 years. A graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Theater, she can be seen in various plays, films, and television commercials and is an alumni of MTV's "Road Rules" and "The Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet". She's looking forward to working in the beautiful Utah mountains with such an exceptional cast and crew!

Live-In Fear is being co-produced by Scullion’s own production company, Iodine Sky Productions, and Maria Olsen’s production liaison company, MOnsterworks66. Olsen, best known for her roles in the awesomely creepy Oren Peli-horror Paranormal Activity 3 and the fantasy-adventure epic Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, should also be visible in Rob Zombie’s brilliantly bewitching masterpiece, The Lords of Salem.

Michael Sheen Offered Lead in Hammer's The Quiet OnesWe have more possible casting news for The Quiet Ones with word coming in via Bloody Disgusting that Michael Sheen has been offered the lead role in Hammer's new flick, putting to rest rumors of Nicolas Cage joining in.

From the Press Release
Guy East and Nigel Sinclair, Co-Chairmen of Exclusive Media and Simon Oakes, Vice-Chairman of Exclusive Media and President & CEO of Hammer announced today that Hammer’s latest supernatural thriller/horror, The Quiet Ones, will be presented for the first time at the upcoming European Film Market (EFM).

Written and to be directed by John Pogue (Quarantine 2) and produced by James Gay-Rees (Senna, Exit Through The Gift Shop), The Quiet Ones marks Hammer’s follow up to Daniel Radcliffe starrer The Woman in Black, which was released last weekend in the US on 3,000 screens grossing an outstanding $21M.

Inspired by true events, The Quiet Ones tells the story of an unorthodox professor who uses controversial methods and leads his best students off the grid to take part in a dangerous experiment: to create a poltergeist. Based on the theory that paranormal activity is caused by human negative energy, the rogue scientists perform a series of tests on a young patient, pushing her to the edge of sanity. As frightening occurrences begin to take place with shocking and gruesome consequences, the group members quickly realize they have triggered a force more terrifying and evil than they ever could have imagined.

Exclusive Media’s President of Worldwide Production & Acquisitions, Tobin Armbrust, will oversee production alongside Director of Development, Shira Rockowitz. Nancy Nayor has commenced casting on the film, which is currently in pre-production and will start shooting in May 2012 in South Africa.

Alex Walton, President of International Sales and Distribution, will handle the international sales at EFM.

John Pogue said: “The Quiet Ones will take its audience on a thrilling ride of jumps, scares, and eerie tingles which, combined with set-pieces of unbearable tension, will propel them through the shadowy chambers that imprison the tortured mind. It’s a dark and claustrophobic picture which will portray how human desire can become trapped in an insidious world of its own creation and how you should always…be careful what you wish for.”

Simon Oakes, President & CEO of Hammer and Vice Chairman of Exclusive Media said: “We can’t wait to showcase The Quiet Ones at EFM. It’s an incredibly chilling and sinister picture that we are proud to be a part of.”

Elizabeth Olsen, Glenn Close, and Tom Felton Get Haunted in Therese Raquin

Elizabeth Olsen, Glenn Close, and Tom Felton Get Haunted in Therese RaquinWith ghosts stories flexing their box office muscles for the last few years, you're going to be seeing many big stars getting haunted on the big screen. Speaking of which ...

According to Deadline, Tom Felton is in negotiations to star opposite Elizabeth Olsen (pictured right) and Glenn Close in Therese Raquin. Written and set to be helmed by acclaimed theater director Charlie Stratton, the film’s being produced by William Horberg and Mickey Liddell.

Close is attached for the role of Madame Raquin and Olsen for Therese, who, with her lover Laurent, murders her husband (Felton), a sick boy that Madame Raquin forced Therese to marry. After Therese later marries her true love, the couple is haunted by the ghost of the dead husband, and it poisons their love into all-consuming hatred.

If the title sounds familiar, it's because Therese Raquin has been around since 1867. It was first a novel and then a play by French writer Émile Zola with numerous adaptations over the years; even the 2009 Korean horror film Thirst borrowed a number of plot elements.

Rather than list them all here, we recommend you browse the official South by Southwest lineup for all the details on the narrative shorts, documentary shorts, SX global shorts, animated shorts, midnight shorts, music videos, Texas shorts, and Texas high school shorts.

“The shorts selected this year truly maximize the form’s potential. They employ clear directorial vision and draw the audience in with original characters, revealing the constant struggle to define identity,” said Shorts Programmer Claudette Godfrey. “While many of these films exist near the boundary between narrative and documentary, they ultimately cultivate their own terms, which is exactly what SXSW is all about.”

Widely regarded as the worst film ever made, the Ed Wood classic Plan 9 from Outer Space is on its way to Blu-ray so you can see all those cardboard sets come to life in glorious 1080p!

Look for the flick starring Bela Lugosi, Gregory Walcott, Tom Keene, Mona McKinnon, Duke Moore, and Carl Anthony in stores on March 6, 2012 from Legend Films. No word yet on special features if any at all.

"This is it! The most popular Atomic Age cult film of the twentieth century. Winner of two Golden Turkey Awards for Worst Picture and Worst Director of All Time, the immortal Edward D. Wood, Jr.! It's all here, the not-so-special effects, aliens in skating skirts zooming around in string-powered flying saucers to implement the ninth plan of Earth's conquest (the first eight failed) with an army of zombies (well, three actually), Vampira, Tor Johnson and Bela Lugosi in his legendary "postmortem" performance (with Ed's chiropractor standing in for Bela after his death). This truly original movie, Ed Wood's "Citizen Kane," is a hymn to all those who have ever tried to create something intelligent and meaningful, only to fail miserably every step of the way."

Hammer Films to Develop and Produce Ian Fried's Gaslight

Hammer Films to Develop and Produce Ian Fried's GaslightTalk about timing! Just last night I jokingly accused someone of trying to "Gaslight" me, and now comes word of a new project coming our way from Hammer Films with the same title. Read on for details!

From the Press Release:
Simon Oakes, Vice-Chairman of Exclusive Media and President & CEO of Hammer, and Guy East and Nigel Sinclair, Co-Chairmen of Exclusive Media, have announced that iconic production company Hammer Films, an Exclusive Media company, has acquired the rights to GASLIGHT, an original screenplay written by newcomer Ian Fried. Hammer will develop and produce GASLIGHT for the big screen.

The screenplay landed on Hollywood’s Black List of the best unproduced scripts in 2011 and is an atmospheric thriller in the vein of From Hell meets The Silence of the Lambs. Secretly imprisoned in a London insane asylum, the infamous Jack the Ripper helps Scotland Yard investigators solve a series of grisly murders whose victims all share the iconic death brand: dual puncture wounds to the neck.

Tobin Armbrust, President of Worldwide Production & Acquisitions of Exclusive Media, Hammer’s parent company, will oversee the project for Hammer. He commented, “Ian's script is an atmospheric thriller that reads like a Gothic Silence of the Lambs. He does a fantastic job of weaving iconic characters into a plausible and entertaining story.”

Fried is currently writing an original supernatural action project called Spectral for Legendary Pictures. His previous script, The Ever After Murders, featuring fairy tale characters investigating murder scenes, also landed on Hollywood’s Black List in 2010.

Relativity Finds The Wright GirlsAnother J-Horror remake is on its way from Relativity Media just in time for the European Film Market, and we've got the scoop on what's next on the old Americanized platter for ya. Check it out!

According to Bloody Disgusting a remake of the Japanese flick 2LDK is gaining momentum. Andy Fickman is currently in close talks to helm the redo that's being sold in Berlin under the title The Wright Girls.

Relativity Media is brining the project that's slated to begin production this coming May. Bert Royal (Easy A) penned the current draft about two actresses rooming together who are both competing for the same part in a film and, while waiting for the answer as to who gets the role, turn on each other in their apartment in a flurry of violent-erotic behavior. The Japanese title 2LDK refers to "two bedrooms, living room, dining room, and kitchen."

While no offers have been made, Relativity is looking to Megan Fox to fill one of the rooms.

Fragile Alliance: A competitive race through a number of checkpoints spread across the map. You can interrupt other player's progress by attacking each other. The increase of environmental hazards and enemy spawn points will keep you on your toes.

Onslaught: Unlock the entire Asylum level section-by-section by defeating all enemies.. Demon-seals that block off areas will dissipate as you defeat enemies from the previous area, providing more-controlled player movement and encounters.
