Acclaimed horror artist Wes Benscoter made a film entitled Hold Your Fire a few years ago. It had a lengthy festival run and won many awards. But it was never widely available to the public… until now. Dig it, Dreadies - Hold Your Fire.

This is a powerful piece of filmmaking that makes the mind wander back to Metallica's legendary video for their song "One." It won best live action short at the Fantasia Film Festival in 2009. Hold Your Fire stars Rie Kato, Lee Grayson and Steve Musti. It was written and directed by Benscoter with the special effects created by D.P.M. F/X. Do yourself a favor and watch this film.

We're just a week and a half out from the premiere of the CBS adaptation of Stephen King's "Under the Dome," and on tap for you today we have some character bios, a new sneak peek, and Stephen King giving his behind-the-scenes take on the show.

Synopsis:
"UNDER THE DOME" is the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. Fans of Matt Damon should be very pleased with this latest IMAX one-sheet for Neill Blomkamp's Elysium. Everyone except Jimmy Kimmel of course, who would be no doubt visibly shaken by this much Damonage.

Remember those Gamera and Godzilla X-ray posters we've seen for a couple of years now? Well, artist Brad McGinty has taken that medium and given it a Spielbergian twist by creating stunning anatomy charts for Mogwais and Gremlins. Dig it!

"I went over-the-top on the details here. I created fake over-printing and ink bleeds and used brown kraft paper to make these instructions look especially flimsy and cheap,” he says of the Gremlin print, adding, “While I want the Gremlin and Mogwai to fit right into the anatomy collection, I made these two prints a little bit different so they could stand on their own.”

Regarding the Mogwai: “I think the Mogwai might be my favorite of the anatomy collection so far. This print is a guide to the care and treatment of your pet Mogwai, complete with explanations of his inner workings in terrible Mandarin, and the three rules that you MUST follow to keep your Mogwai manageable.”

The opening and closing night films for one of the best damned horror movie film festivals in the world, the UK's Film4 FrightFest, have been announced; and we have new stills and details for you right here!

This year’s festival opens with the world premiere of The Ford Brothers' THE DEAD 2: INDIA, the first-ever international production of a zombie film shot in India.

Howard and Jon Ford, the British director, writer and producer team behind the acclaimed African-set zombie road movie The Dead, said today: “It's truly an honour to be the opening film – mind-blowing! Being at FrightFest for The Dead was such an incredible experience for us and one of the highlights of our whole journey with the film. It's an awesome event with a brilliant crowd, and we both sincerely cannot wait to see you all there!”.

The film follows the story of India-based American engineer Nicholas Burton (JOSEPH MILLSON) in a race against time to reach his pregnant girlfriend, Ishani Sharma (MEENU). Burton enlists the help of orphan street kid Javed (ANAND GOYAL), and together they make a perilous 300-mile journey across deadly landscapes as a zombie apocalypse threatens to engulf the entire nation.

Film4 FrightFest will close with the UK premiere of directors Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado’s extraordinary revenge thriller BIG BAD WOLVES. Soaked in twisted tension, fairytale myth and seat-edged suspense, the film follows the lives of three men on a collision course following a series of brutal murders: the father of the latest victim now out for revenge, a vigilante police detective operating outside the law, and the main suspect in the killings - a religious studies teacher arrested and released due to a police blunder.

Aharon and Navot said today: “We always dreamt of having a film which would be good enough to be shown at FrightFest, but not even in our wildest dreams did we think that a Hebrew-speaking revenge thriller would get us there. FrightFest is really making history here. As a token of our appreciation we promise to give everyone there a night they won't easily forget”.

From what we've seen so far, Season 6 of "True Blood" seems to focused on the vampire-human war, but hopefully our favorite werewolf packmaster, Alcide, played by Joe Manganiello, will get some screen time this year.

Manganiello recently chatted with Larry King and shared a few choice tidbits about the upcoming season, which you'll find in the first video below. After announcing the 12 projects that comprise its Frontières selection of film projects in May, the Fantasia International Film Festival's Frontières International Co-Production Market’s team has now revealed the event’s Off-Frontières line-up of 12 projects. Read on for the details of this latest dirty dozen.

The first Frontières announcement contained new projects being pitched by Joe Dante, Bobcat Goldthwait, Richard Stanley, and more. The following Off-Frontières projects come from such amazing talent as Larry Fessenden, The Rasmussen Brothers, and Josh Johnson.

Montreal's Fantasia International Film Festival, widely acclaimed as one of the largest and most influential genre film festivals in the world, introduced its Fantasia Industry Rendez-Vous, including the Frontières International Co-Production Market and the Fantasia Film Market, in 2012. Frontières is the first international co-production market to connect North America with Europe, in an environment focused specifically on genre film production. Now Frontières has become a circuit in-between Fantasia, in July, and the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, in April (starting in 2014). This initiative was made possible by funding from the MEDIA Mundus program of the European Commission.

The Fantasia Industry Rendez-Vous will take place in Montreal from July 25 to the 28 at the mid-point of the 3-week run of the Fantasia Festival, running from July 18 to August 6, 2013. International producers and sales agents, distributors, broadcasters, talent agents and festival programmers will converge over four days that will be packed with a pitch session, meetings, conferences and cocktails, along with the festival’s regular schedule of premieres. Accreditations are free of charge and are currently under way. They must be applied for by June 21 for the participant to be listed in the Market Guide.

The Maniac Cop will soon be back in blue again - on Blu-ray by way of Blue Underground, that is. Maniac Cop 2 and Maniac Cop 3: Badge of Silence are coming via the company run by the director of the franchise, William Lustig, so you know he’ll do them justice.

Blue Underground will release both the criminally underrated Maniac Cop 2 and the nearly criminally sabotaged Maniac Cop 3 as Collector’s Edition Blu-ray/DVD combo packs later this year. In the case of Part 3, this is its first appearance on DVD as well as Blu-ray.

An official release date, technical specs, and supplemental features will be announced shortly. I think we can pretty much count on commentary tracks by writer Larry Cohen and director William Lustig. Such a commentary for Maniac Cop 3 would be quite interesting considering its troubled history.

MANIAC COP 2 - This sequel to Maniac Cop pits Matt Cordell (Robert Z'dar), the crazed, murderous "Maniac Cop" of the first film (now horribly disfigured after a particularly brutal stay in prison), and Turkel (Leo Rossi), a serial killer who likes to murder strippers, against a frenzied NYPD detective, Sean McKinney (Robert Davi), who is just one step ahead of a nervous breakdown.

MANIAC COP 3: BADGE OF SILENCE - When Officer Katie Sullivan storms a hostage situation, she is shot by the supposed victim, who is apparently an accessory to the crime. She manages to return fire before slipping into unconsciousness, ultimately killing her shooter. The whole incident is captured on tape by an unscrupulous media crew who edit the footage to show Katie killing a helpless victim. Now in a coma, Katie's only hope is another detective, McKinney, who tries to clear her name. Unbeknownst to him, Matt Cordell, the "Maniac Cop," takes it upon himself to clear Katie and exact revenge upon those responsible for smearing her name. His vigilante mission takes a twisted turn when he kidnaps Katie from the hospital and prepares for an unholy wedding in an abandoned church. When McKinney interrupts Cordell's deranged plan, an explosive confrontation may finally send the Maniac Cop to his final fiery doom.

Dark Horse Comics’ toys and collectibles imprint, Dark Horse Deluxe, is proud to offer new items based on NBC's "Grimm." The "Grimm" collectibles from Dark Horse are licensed through NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products.

"Grimm" is a cop drama inspired by the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tales, following Portland homicide detective Nick Burkhardt into a reality he never knew existed. Once he discovers this new world, and his role in it, he has to deal with much more than the usual criminals and investigations. With his partner Hank and ally Monroe (who is also a magical creature called a Blutbad), Nick delves into cases involving bees, bats, bears, and more!

“As Portland residents, we feel a special kinship with a series filmed in our hometown,” Dark Horse Product Development VP David Scroggy observed, “although we would have been drawn to 'Grimm' if it were filmed in North Dakota. The production team has been most accommodating, inviting us to visit the sets, examine the props, and meet with the key design and VFX staffers to help inform our line. This kind of cooperation is rare, and it has ensured a great accuracy down to the smallest details.”

Dark Horse Deluxe is launching the "Grimm" line with an assortment of products. The centerpieces of this first wave are sculpted, wearable pin replicas of Nick’s key (see below) and one of the coins of Zakynthos.

Nick is bequeathed the key as his dying Aunt Marie introduces him to his destiny as a Grimm, warning him to guard it with his life. The key is revealed to have a map carved on the outside, which is etched into the replica pin’s surface. Two small loops on the key allow the wearer to easily convert it from a pin to a hanging pendant.

The mysterious, ancient coin of Zakynthos has a long history of bringing a bad end to its possessors, although the Grimms seem strangely immune. While its purpose remains a mystery, various dark forces are seeking it and will kill to attain ownership of it. Two things have always remained with me from Geoff Murphy's 1992 sci-fi action flick Freejack. The first is how Rene Russo’s character was supposed to age 18 years, but only her hairstyle changed. The second is “Hit Between the Eyes”, the title song provided by the Scorpions.

Based on Robert Sheckley's novel Immortality, Inc., which was set thousands of years in the future rather than 18 years later, Freejack stars Emilio Estevez as a racecar driver teleported at the moment of his fiery fatal car wreck from 1991 to the futuristic world of 2009, a time in which the hole in the ozone layer has ravaged the impoverished populace, bubble cars are the most popular vehicle, and dying billionaire Anthony Hopkins plans to transplant his mind into Estevez’s body. Emilio escapes, is branded a “freejack,” and now finds himself pursued by evil bounty hunters called “bonejackers” led by Mick Jagger in a role that will help remind you why he didn’t star in too many movies.

I take it back. There are actually three things I always remember about Freejack, and the third is seeing Estevez promoting the movie on some entertainment show and being very candid about his own low opinion of the film. “If this doesn’t work, I’ll just try something else,” he stated somewhat dejectedly. It didn’t, and he did.

The odd thing about the Scorpions’ music video for “Hit Between the Eyes” is that they chose to use a live version of the song rather than the studio recorded track heard in the movie. Who knows? Maybe they weren’t completely satisfied with the song any more than Estevez was with the film.

Time for another quick look at what's coming this fall in Fox's new take on "Sleepy Hollow" from a powerhouse Hollywood trio comprised of co-creators/executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and director Len Wiseman. Expectations are pretty high!

The first custom one-sheet made specifically for the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con has hit the Internet, and it's in promotion of Vin Diesel's latest turn as the intergalactic outlaw Riddick! Get ready to rule the dark!

Riddick stars Vin Diesel and is based on a script by David Twohy, who wrote both Chronicles of Riddick and Pitch Black, where he first created the character of Riddick.

Joining Diesel are a returning Karl Urban (Star Trek) as Vaako; Jordi Molla as Santana, the arrogant captain of the mercenary ship; Matt Nable (Killer Elite) as Boss Johns, a man looking for answers; Katee Sackhoff (TV's "Battlestar Galactica") as the Nordic mercenary Dahl; and Bokeem Woodbine (Total Recall) as bounty hunter Moss. Rounding out the cast are Dave Bautista (The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption), Conrad Pla (Immortals), Raoul Trujillo (Apocalypto), Nolan Funk (Aliens in America), and two-time Grammy Award-nominated singer Keri Hilson.

Synopsis:
