The amount of zombie content Activision packs into its Call of Duty games is pretty staggering, and this latest bit looks to be the wildest entry yet as the setting moves to the Old West as part of the new Vengeance DLC!

Call of Duty®: Black Ops II Vengeance, the newest downloadable content (DLC) pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops II, is available now on the Xbox Live® online entertainment network from Microsoft. The record setting title from Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard (Nasdaq: ATVI), and its award-winning studio Treyarch adds its third DLC pack, Vengeance, to its already action-packed season of downloadable content. Call of Duty: Black Ops II Vengeance delivers four new, diverse multiplayer maps that will challenge even the most seasoned players:

"Uplink,"- In this re-imagined adaptation of the fan-favorite multiplayer map "Summit" from the original Call of Duty®: Black Ops, players clash deep in the rain-soaked jungles of Myanmar, high atop a hi-tech mountain facility.

With "Buried," Treyarch yet again expands the canon of zombies fiction in brain-twisting ways. Players meet up with old characters and will encounter new ones as they face off against the undead residents of an abandoned underground Old West mining town. A healthy arsenal of equipment and weapons that will be at players' disposal, but with one very special addition - something so powerful it will also appear in all other Call of Duty: Black Ops II zombies maps (with the purchase of Vengeance DLC): the Ray Gun Mark II.

Some new casting news landed in our inbox today for HBO's "True Blood." Read on to see who's joining the fight between vamps and humans in Season 6!

Award-winning star of stage and screen Valarie Pettiford is joining the cast of HBO’s top-rated Sunday night drama "True Blood" in a recurring role for the sixth season. She will appear in a two-episode arc starting in Episode 7, “World Without End,” which is scheduled to air on July 28, 2013.

“Working on this show has been a delicious experience,” says Valarie. “It has been an absolute joy to work with a cast of this caliber. Everyone has been so lovely – they say it starts at the top, and on 'True Blood' it really does.”

From the Broadway stage to independent short films, from blockbusters to music video cameos, this Fosse-trained dancer’s work draws attention. Valarie has a long list of accolades, including a Tony Award nomination, NAACP Awards nominations, and Best Actress honors for the festival short The Response. Valarie’s resume boasts national tours (Dancin’, Show Boat), hit sitcoms ("Half and Half,""House of Payne"), and big-budget studio films (Stomp the Yard, Jumping the Broom). Her second album, Velvet Sky, a collection of original lullabies, was released last fall. Additionally, she has been sanctioned by the Fosse/Verdon estate to reconstruct the maestro’s choreography for a new generation of dancers in master classes in New York City. She is teaching with fellow Fosse-alum Lloyd Culbreath.

The first trailer for The Asylum’s masterpiece Sharknado has finally arrived. Technically, it’s a 30-second spot for the film’s July 11th Syfy premiere. The world gets Sharknado and Pacific Rim all in a span of 48 hours. What a time to be alive!

If you’ve read my 4-1/2 out of 5 review of Sharknado, then you know I wasn’t being sarcastic when I used the word “masterpiece” above. I really mean it. It’s 85 minutes of non-stop LOL, OMG, and WTF moments. Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, and John Heard star in this cult classic in the making. Let me again quote my review of this unhinged piece of b-movie pop art:

There are sharks everywhere. Everywhere, I tell you. Nobody is safe anywhere. Not on land or in the air. Not in a boat. Not in a car. Not in a helicopter. Not in a building. They’ll get you in the ocean. They’ll get you on the streets. They’ll get you in the air. They’re coming through windows. Out of the sewers… Out of drainage pipes… Out of swimming pools… Into your living room… On top of your car… On top of you! They’re falling from the sky. It’s raining sharks, hallelujah!

And that aspect of the film is what’s showcased in the 30-second TV trailer Syfy has at long last released for Sharknado. I assure you what you see here is but a mere drop in the bucket of the supreme lunacy that gets unleashed.

Sharknado premieres on Thursday, July 11th, on Syfy at 9/8 Central. Unless you’re part of the protest group that want their Syfy original movies back on Saturday nights (instead of the ratings bomb combo of “Sinbad” and “Primeval: New World”) who have taken to DVR’ing the films on Thursday and then gathering together on social media the following Saturday at 9/8 Central to watch and live riff on the films. Fight the power!

Another new one-sheet has checked in for Machete Kills and it features Carlos Estevez as The President - who incidentally couldn't possibly do a worse job than either Bush or Obama. Open Road Films will open the flick in theatres on October 4, 2013.

Yes, the original ThanksKilling was far from something to write home about, but we cannot help but applaud the audacity it takes to make a second sequel that goes in search of the first sequel. And now? Now it's on its way home.

The "Raunchiest Puppet Movie Ever Made*", ThanksKilling 3, debuts for the first time on DVD this October just in time for the holidays. The comedy/ horror spoof sees the return of original creators Jordan Downey and Kevin Stewart to the cult slasher series that follows Turkie, the fowl-mouthed Thanksgiving villain.

The original ThanksKilling was made for the minuscule budget of $3,500 while Downey and Stewart were still in college. After years of marketing it themselves, and with the help of distributor Gravitas Ventures, the film went on to gain a massive cult following for its purposeful "so bad it's good" vibe. It quickly rose to over 170,000 ratings on Netflix and was featured in Maxim Magazine, Fangoria, and on TMZ. The movie's Facebook page, with over 10,300 likes, features fan-made puppets and artwork, theme song remixes, and even pictures of ThanksKilling related fan tattoos.

Using the fan base to their advantage, Downey and Stewart were able to raise over $100,000 on Kickstarter to make their ambitious follow-up, ThanksKilling 3 - the first movie ever to skip its own sequel! Now that The CW has announced its fall premiere schedule, the network has also released new promos for upcoming shows "The Originals" and "The Tomorrow People." They aren't much different from what we've already seen, but being completists, we have them both for you here.

Look for "The Tomorrow People" to premiere on Wednesday, October 9th (along with "Arrow"), with "The Originals" making its bow on Tuesday, October 15th (paired with "Supernatural").

"The Tomorrow People" Synopsis:
They are the next evolutionary leap of mankind, a generation of humans born with paranormal abilities — the Tomorrow People. Stephen Jameson stands at the crossroads between the world we know and the shifting world of the future. Nope, this isn't a resurrection of Marilyn Manson's Phantasmagoria project from a couple of years back, nor is it the return of the much beloved PC game. What we have here is a beast of a different sort. Read on for details.

Do you believe in ghosts? The company M International has launched the production of new horror feature film Phantasmagoria: 3 shocking tales of horror that will get you beyond fear. From the mind of filmmaker Domiziano Cristopharo (House of Flesh Mannequins, Bloody Sin of Horror, Poe: Poetry of Eerie) and Mickael Abbate (Festival Director of "Samain du cinéma fantastique"), Phantasmagoria is a Franco-Italian co production. Tiziano Martella (Legio XIII; Make-Up Artist from Zombie Massacre, Eaters) has also joined the team. The movie specifically aims at bringing a revival of the "hair-raising" movie genre by allowing the largest possible number of spectators to rediscover fear and other extreme feelings on screen (and beyond).

Federico Bebber did the artwork for the below teaser poster for the film. The production starts in September in Rome, Italy, and Nice, France, with a 2014 theatrical release planned for both countries.

I was saying to my buddies over a year ago, "You know... someone's gonna eventually shoot an entire movie on their mobile devices," and since then several have appeared. If only now I could predict winning lottery numbers. I'd buy each of you a pony.

L.A. Weekly has brought the first film shot entirely with an iPad2 into the spotlight, and we have a look at it for you right here. Below you'll find Aaron Mento’s Standards of Living. According to the filmmaker the movie is a horror/comedy "about this stand-up comedian who's really bad" who gets a mysterious phone call from a man named Mr. Randall, who says he can make things disappear and have them brought back, improved.

Sound interesting? Of course it does! Big props to Mento for pulling this one off... Cue copycats in 5... 4... 3... 2...

Synopsis
To enhance his ability to make people laugh, a struggling comedian takes part in a teleportation experiment that "improves" whatever cargo is being teleported... but the results are no laughing matter.

Gareth Evans just shared via Twitter a new image from his upcoming flick The Raid 2: Berandal, and it introduces us to the character of Prakoso. We don't know who this Prakoso is or what he does, but I tell you this... we wouldn't wanna mess with him.

Synopsis
PT Merantau Films and XYZ Films have teamed up for THE RAID 2 (Indonesian title, THE RAID 2: BERANDAL), the sequel to the wildly popular international hit THE RAID (aka THE RAID: REDEMPTION). The film reunites writer/director Gareth Huw Evans with actor Iko Uwais, who will be reprising his starring role. Ario Sagantoro is producing for PT Merantau Films along with Nate Bolotin, Nick Spicer, Aram Tertzakian, and Todd Brown for XYZ Films. Executive producing are Rangga Maya Barack-Evans and Irwan D. Mussry.

In addition to Uwais, the international cast includes Tio Pakusadewo, Putra Arifin Scheunamann, Julie Estelle, Alex Abbad, and Roy Marten. Line producing the film is Daiwanne Ralie with Matthew Flannery and Dimas Imam Subhono serving as directors of photography.

Picking up right where the first film ends, The Raid 2 follows Rama (Uwais) as he goes undercover and infiltrates the ranks of a ruthless Jakarta crime syndicate in order to protect his family and uncover the corruption in his own police force.

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA) acquired the film for the United States, Spain, Latin America, and South Africa; and Sony Pictures Classics will once again release the film theatrically in the United States.

The film marks the directorial debut of Scott Walker, who also wrote the script which is based on true events surrounding Alaska’s most notorious serial predator, Robert Hansen. Radha Mitchell, Vanessa Hudgens, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson also star.

Synopsis:
The film follows Alaskan detective Glenn Flothe (Nicolas Cage) as he sets out to end the murderous rampage of Robert Hansen (John Cusack), a serial killer who has gone unnoticed for 13 years. As the bodies of street girls start to add up in Anchorage, fear strikes a chord with the public. Risking his life, Detective Flothe goes on a personal manhunt to find the killer before the next body surfaces. When a 17-year-old escapee reveals key information about the case, Flothe is finally able to trail the killer. But will he catch him in time to save the next victim?

Millennium Entertainment is pleased to reveal the final artwork and announce details for its upcoming high-definition release of the classic 1966 Hammer film Dracula: Prince of Darkness on September 3rd. Directed by Terence Fisher and starring the iconic Christopher Lee, Barbara Shelley, and Andrew Keir, Millennium's Collector's Edition of Dracula: Prince of Darkness marks the first time that horror fans in the US will be able to enjoy the film on Blu-ray. Millennium is also planning to release several other Hammer Films on Blu-ray later this year including Quartermass and the Pit, The Plague of the Zombies, and The Devil Rides Out.

Synopsis

Robert Schwentke directed the project, which follows a murdered cop (Reynolds) who is recruited to work in the Rest in Peace Department, a police force comprised of ghosts who battle spirits unready to depart this world. Jeff Bridges plays Reynolds' ghostly partner.

Universal Pictures' supernatural farce has been scheduled for July 19, 2013.

Synopsis
Nick is dead — at least, that’s how he remembers it — and teams up with another deceased detective, a gunslinger from the Old West (played by Jeff Bridges), to work for an elite task force, the Rest In Peace Department (hence the title), to track down the dead on Earth. (Due to overpopulation, some unsettled spirits haven’t gone where they’re supposed to and are hiding out). Technically, R.I.P.D. officers (who are overseen by Mary-Louise Parker) aren’t allowed to kill anyone living and aren’t supposed to interact with anyone from their previous lives, but Nick is haunted by the fact that he was murdered by another cop (played by Kevin Bacon) and can’t let it go.

Man cannot live on bread alone. It's true. And thanks to the folks at Sinister Pointe, man won't have to… because their upcoming venture, Spirit Lounge, will have plenty of hooch and grub to go around when it launches this fall in Brea, CA. Read on!

Here's another great event for you folks in the Burbank area. The Hyaena Gallery is currently featuring an art show paying tribute to legendary horror creator Guillermo Del Toro. The exhibit is on display now with an opening reception scheduled for July 6.

Into the Labyrinth & Mind of Guillermo Del Toro runs from now through July 31. The reception on July 6 is from 8 pm to 12 midnight, and as always, admission is free. The exhibit features the art of Chogrin, Robot Soda, German Orozco, Dienzo, Hellosobre, Kasey Tararuj, Pakoto, Jorsh Pena, Carlos Lerma, Glen Brogan, Walrus Felts and Anita Mejia.

Guillermo Del Toro, is a true master of horror, but his influence and scope go far beyond that genre into the realms of fantasy and sci-fi. His films combine original concepts with gorgeous art direction and always an emphasis on storytelling. It’s the passion he pours into each project that sets his films apart in the eyes of his many fans, and the quality of his work helps illustrate that he is just as big a fan of this stuff as we are. Guillermo Del Toro has continuously brought our imaginations to dark and wondrous places, so it is an honor to present this art exhibit as a tribute to his legacy: Into the Labyrinth & Mind of Guillermo Del Toro.

Curated by Chogrin (of Cartoon Network’s "Regular Show"), this exhibit is a true labor of love and focuses on three films that, in our opinion, encompass the totality of Del Toro’s vision as both a writer and director: Cronos, The Devil’s Backbone, and Pan’s Labyrinth. Featuring only Latino/Spanish artists, this show is in response to the support which Guillermo has always given to artists and is a nod to his proud Mexican heritage. It is a thank you to Del Toro for the years of inspiration he has provided for all of us… and with his new film, Pacific Rim, opening this month as well as the Criterion Collection Blu-ray release of The Devil’s Backbone, it looks like we have many years of inspiration to look forward to in the future.
