A New Peek Inside the House of Last ThingsMore news has come in for the Oregon-based film House of Last Things (review) - the flick has been picked to be a part of the Fantasy Filmfest Germany, playing all the major cities in August. Good on all parties concerned. How about we celebrate with some new images?

Directed by Michael Bartlett, House of Last Things is a mind-bending thriller set in Portland, Oregon, about an unspoken tragedy and its effects on a house, its temporary caretakers, and the owners, a classical music critic and his wife on a recuperative trip to Italy.

For more up-to-the-moment info, visit the official House of Last Things Facebook page. For more on the fest, visit the official Fantasy Filmfest website.

Synopsis
Alan (Randy Schulman) is a successful classical music critic, as reflected in his spacious Portland home. His wife, Sarah (Diane Dalton), is an obsessively grieving woman, struggling with an unspoken tragedy even after months of institutionalized therapy.

Upon Sarah's release, Alan forces Sarah into a trip to Italy. He has already arranged for a house sitter in Kelly (Lindsey Haun), young and lonely for commitment and the better things in life. Kelly is quickly joined by her younger brother, Tim (RJ Mitte), and her trashy boyfriend, Jesse (Blake Berris). It’s not long before the trio find themselves drawn into a web of disturbing revelations. Jesse suddenly decides to kidnap eight-year-old Adam from the supermarket. But not all is what it seems with Adam. There is nothing of him in the news, and from the moment he arrives, he seems to radiate innocent control over the hapless occupants.

Sarah’s depression returns in Italy, and Alan suddenly reveals a horrible truth. But that truth about a boy and the freakish accident that claimed his life proves not to be nearly as disturbing as just who that boy was. Little Adam, clearly in control now as Kelly, Jesse, and Tim find themselves caught in a netherworld between hallucination and reality. Kelly and Jesse are eerily unaware as they lose themselves to the house while Tim’s future is far less certain in a House of Last Things.

Japan Gets R.I.P.D. with New One-SheetThe Japanese poster for the upcoming horror comedy R.I.P.D. has been released, and it's pretty much the same as its American cousin. Check it out now as a means to show your support for the Rest in Peace Department!

Universal Pictures'R.I.P.D. stars Ryan Reynolds, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon, Stephanie Szostak, Mary-Louise Parker, Marisa Miller, Mike O'Malley, James Hong, Tobias Segal, and Robert Knepper.

Robert Schwentke directed the project, which follows a murdered cop (Reynolds) who is recruited to work in the Rest in Peace Department, a police force comprised of ghosts who battle spirits unready to depart this world. Jeff Bridges plays Reynolds' ghostly partner.

Universal Pictures' supernatural farce has been scheduled for July 19, 2013.

Synopsis
Nick is dead — at least, that’s how he remembers it — and teams up with another deceased detective, a gunslinger from the Old West (played by Jeff Bridges), to work for an elite task force, the Rest In Peace Department (hence the title), to track down the dead on Earth. (Due to overpopulation, some unsettled spirits haven’t gone where they’re supposed to and are hiding out). Technically, R.I.P.D. officers (who are overseen by Mary-Louise Parker) aren’t allowed to kill anyone living and aren’t supposed to interact with anyone from their previous lives, but Nick is haunted by the fact that he was murdered by another cop (played by Kevin Bacon) and can’t let it go.

Guillermo del Toro Feeds His Frankenstein Benedict Cumberbatch

Guillermo del Toro Feeds His Frankenstein Benedict CumberbatchIt's been a long while since last we've heard anything about Guillermo del Toro's version of Frankenstein, but with Pacific Rim on deck and Crimson Peak gearing up, the man spoke a bit about the flick and has zeroed in on his Doctor F!

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph out of the UK, Del Toro revealed that "he is hoping to direct Benedict Cumberbatch again [after Crimson Peak] in a new film version of Frankenstein [as the doctor]." Honestly? That's a pretty great pick if you ask us, especially since Cumberbatch already starred as both the monster and the doctor in Danny Boyle's stage version of Frankenstein. We caught that performance, and believe us when we tell you this dude has the chops to pull it off.

Still, we are pretty far away from this happening, so who knows? In any event Pacific Rim hits theatres this Friday and Crimson Peak will star Cumberbatch with Jessica Chastain and Charlie Hunnam. More on that one and this as it comes.

Panic Productions and Hutson Ranch Media have launched pre-orders for Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th on its official website. The documentary, inspired by Peter M. Bracke’s bestselling book of the same name, promises to be the definitive retrospective on the long-running Friday the 13th franchise.

The Blu-ray/DVD combo pack showcases the extensive feature, which runs approximately 420 minutes. When purchased through the website, buyers will also receive a bonus DVD with nearly 4 hours of extended interview material. The film will be officially released on August 27, 2013, via 1428 Films with a list price of $29.95.

Corey Feldman (star of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter) narrates Crystal Lake Memories, which features interviews with approximately 150 cast and crew members from all twelve Friday the 13th films and the syndicated television series, many of whom have never before appeared in on-camera interviews. Interview subjects include Kane Hodder, Robert Englund, Tom Savini, Danielle Panabaker, Sean S. Cunningham, Derek Mears, Betsy Palmer, Wes Craven, Robert Shaye, Alice Cooper and many more.

Crystal Lake Memories is written and directed by Daniel Farrands and produced by Thommy Hutson, who previously teamed up for the award-winning Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy. "As lifelong fans, we couldn't let 2013 pass us by without giving Jason his due," explains Farrands. "I hope that Crystal Lake Memories will serve as a fitting tribute tribute to one of this generation's most iconic bogeymen."

"We're thrilled that we are able to bring all the incredible stories from the cast and crew to life, showcasing why the Friday the 13th franchise is still going strong decades later," adds Hutson. "It's a testament to the blood, sweat and tears that went into making summer camp, and eventually a hockey mask, both terrifying and fun."

In the 33 years since the original Friday the 13th premiered in May of 1980, the slasher franchise has grown to include twelve feature films, a television series, novels, comic books, merchandise and memorabilia. In addition to staggering box office success, the films turned Jason Voorhees and his signature hockey mask into a pop culture icon. Now fans can get an in-depth look that spans the entire history from those involved.

Second Teaser Trailer for Being Human on BBC America Begins the Final Season CountdownIt's almost here! The final season of "Being Human" (UK) premieres this Saturday, July 13th, on BBC America, and we have a second teaser trailer to share.

The fifth and final season of "Being Human" premieres July 13th at 10:00pm ET/PT as part of BBC America's Supernatural Saturday.

Synopsis:
At the end of Series 4, viewers witnessed former housemate and ghost Annie (Lenora Crichlow) meeting her supernatural end when she saved the world from being ruled by the powerful vampire group “The Old Ones.” Now Hal (Damien Molony) and Tom (Michael Socha) have a new ghost in the midst of their Honolulu Heights home in Alex (Kate Bracken), a vibrant tomboy who lost her life to a vampire’s fangs in retribution for a crime Hal committed 100 years earlier. After being marooned to the afterlife by Hal, their former romance turned sour. With Hal reeling from guilt and desperately trying to tame his thirst, this season sees him conflicted between his hedonistic vampire instincts and being an upright citizen. Meanwhile, Tom’s ambition is to gain confidence and progress in life. He is determined to get noticed by his peers and prepared to take action to make it happen – but at what cost?

With bills to pay, Hal and Tom find new employment at the Barry Grand Hotel. The hotel, however, is the home of a poisonous retiree, Captain Hatch (Phil Davis, "Whitechapel,""Sherlock"), who on the surface seems to be a grumpy old man. But unbeknownst to them, he hides a dark secret that threatens not only the housemates’ friendships but the entire world. Obscurely, Captain Hatch manipulates the way the trio feels about each other, and suddenly minor disagreements turn into major conflicts. Gradually their treasured trust decreases; and Hal, Tom, and Alex’s common goal – to find humanity – becomes more distant than ever before.

This final season also sees Mr. Rook, the shady figure whose government department protects the world from supernaturals, battling to hold on to his power. Much to his horror, the government intends to close his organization due to high running costs. Attempting to justify his association’s existence and keep his job, Mr. Rook creates problems to prove the danger posed by supernaturals.

In a town where a threat is lurking around every corner and where the Devil is growing stronger each day, Hal, Tom, and Alex need to overcome their differences and unite in order to save themselves and the world from destruction. Even the best of friends can become enemies in a ruthless world, but collectively they will try to rise against the evil like true heroes.

"Being Human" is produced by Touchpaper Wales (part of Zodiak Media Group), Cymru Wales for the BBC and co-produced by BBC AMERICA.

EPISODE ONE – SATURDAY, JULY 13, 10:00PM ET/PT
Chained up like an animal, Hal frantically requests to be set free by best friend Tom and new housemate Alex. Once released, Hal is accidentally involved in innocent bystander Crumb’s (Colin Hoult) death and “saves” him by recruiting him as a vampire. But the disobedient vampire proves to be difficult to handle. Meanwhile, Mr. Rook (Steven Robertson), a civil servant in charge of keeping supernaturals at bay, is told that his secret department is being shut down.

EPISODE TWO – SATURDAY, JULY 20, 10:00PM ET/PT
Alex feels like the house is haunted by another ghost, but Hal and Tom aren’t convinced. Besides, they have more important things to think about, like the Employee of the Month competition at the hotel they are desperate to win. In the interim, Captain Hatch secretly turns Hal and Tom’s contest into a competitive battle… Meanwhile, Mr. Rook has a plan to justify his secret government department by using the new and slightly unhinged vampire Crumb to show the importance of keeping supernaturals under control.

EPISODE THREE – SATURDAY, JULY 27, 10:00PM ET/PT
Television weatherman Larry Chrysler (Julian Barratt, "The Mighty Boosh") is successful – beauty-queen wife, sharp suits, and flashy cars – but he is also untrustworthy and not what he seems. However, Tom doesn’t realize any of that because he is enamored with Larry and sees him as a new mentor. Meanwhile, Hal meets his old ghost friend Lady Mary (Amanda Hale, "Ripper Street"), which sparks intense jealousy from Alex.

EPISODE FOUR – SATURDAY, AUGUST 3, 10:00PM ET/PT
Mr. Rook is desperate as his government department inches closer to its end, and in order to prevent it from happening, he sets off searching for private investors. Ahead of his trip, he leaves Bobby (Ricky Grover, "EastEnders") – a werewolf who has been on lockdown for decades – under Tom’s supervision. However, Captain Hatch has other plans for Bobby. While Hal is entrusted with getting vampire Crumb in order, Alex is not so sure he can be managed.

EPISODE FIVE – SATURDAY, AUGUST 10, 10:00PM ET/PT
Tom falls for new hotel staff member Natasha (Kathryn Prescott, "Skins"), but she has come to the attention of Hal for seedier reasons. Meanwhile, Alex is positive there is something suspect about hotel resident Captain Hatch. Reeling from unfortunate occurrences at the hotel, Alex is determined to get to the bottom of it, even if it means putting her safety at risk.

EPISODE SIX – SATURDAY, AUGUST 17, 10:00PM ET/PT
In the shocking series finale, hotel resident Captain Hatch is determined to cause as much chaos and devastation as possible. While Hal is turning excessively malicious, Tom has returned to his default setting – vampire killer. Alex, knowing the truth about Captain Hatch, needs to join the trio in order to prevent Captain Hatch’s plan, but at what cost to humanity?

Written and directed by Mancini, Curse of Chucky finds a family imperiled by the murderous doll that launched a generation’s nightmares – determined to finish a job that was started long ago. The film stars Fiona Dourif (The Master, “True Blood”), A Martinez (“Longmire,” “General Hospital”), Danielle Bisutti (Get Smart, “CSI: Miami”) and Brennan Elliott (“Flight 93,” Double Jeopardy), with Brad Dourif (The Lord of the Rings) once again providing the voice of Chucky, the homicidal plaything inhabited by the spirit of notorious serial killer Charles Lee Ray.
