#SDCC 2013: Hands-On with Dead Rising 3

$

#SDCC 2013: Hands-On with Dead Rising 3There I was walking around the Hard Rock Hotel when I saw a HUGE Xbox One sign plastered above a ballroom. I immediately inquired what was going on and was told it was a closed-door showcase for select members of press. Now, me? I'm big, mean looking, and strangely charming. Of course I talked my way in!

The one game I have been waiting for since its announcement is Dead Rising 3. The game will star new character Nick Ramos in Los Peridos and be available exclusively for the Xbox One this holiday season. There were tons of games working and on display, such as Forza, which was BEAUTIFUL, and Project: Spark, which was pretty damned impressive in its own right, but for me? It was all about Capcom's latest undead foray.

My initial impression of the Xbox One itself was that it is a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Truth be told, it may just be slightly larger than current 360s, but it was WHISPER quiet while running, and the controller? Believe me when I tell you guys if you thought the 360 controller was pretty sweet, they've taken an already amazing controller and made it more comfortable and rock solid. It was love at first feel.

Now on to the game...

At E3 we saw an impressive, yet quick demo. Here I had the game in front of me with two of the developers. Simply put, if you thought the game looked cool before, you cannot even begin to wrap your head around how absolutely psychotic it was in front of me. Essentially I got to drool my way through 30 minutes of absolute zombie carnage. Limbs, blood, and grue were flying EVERYWHERE. Seeing the sledge saw in action? It was like sampling a fine red wine. Even the hand-to-hand combat was designed with a true bloodlust. I cackled with delight as Ramos came up behind a member of the undead, inserted his fingers in its nostrils, and pulled the top part of its head clean off while blood literally soaked the screen. From there we ended up in a graveyard complete with hearse. Of course I got in that thing post-haste and immediately started mowing down the dead through a cemetery as both bodies and headstones alike were getting thrashed and crushed.

Speaking of the dead, in the entire 30 minutes I was privy to, I honestly did not see a single repeat zombie, and there were hundreds of them on the screen. I asked what the maximum onscreen zombie infestation is, and one of the devs turned, looked at me, smiled, and quipped, "A shitload." He wasn't kidding either. These things were everywhere! It was like a veritable sea of various degrees of decomposition. Textures were spot-on, the music was pounding, and the game ran like butter. But little did I know the best was yet to come...

Smart Glass. You know that little app that's available for your tablet and smartphone that is horridly underutilized on the 360? For Dead Rising 3 there's an option to have it fully integrated into the game. Yes, you can play the game without it, but you'd be missing out on the immersion. Need to know where the nearest gun shop is? Tap your phone or tablet, and a marker will pop up on your screen. Low on food or blunt objects? Again, they're just a tap away. Need to call in an airstrike to an area that's just way too overrun to even dream of getting through? Weapons of mass destruction are a tap away, and when they hit, they come in a glorious flurry of fire and violence. Even cooler? You know how in past Dead Rising games your main character's means of communication was via cellphone? Well, guess what! You can use your smartphone or tablet as that game phone. With Smart Glass open, your phone will actually ring and you'll get instructions. You'll even be getting text messages from characters in the game!

Add on full drop-in, drop-out co-op through the story mode; and we've got hours of zombie killing mayhem ahead of us!

With that, my time was up. I didn't want to leave. I wanted this now. I wanted to leave a tiny basket of fruit in front of the Xbox One. Life was good, and November cannot get here soon enough! Get set, zombie fans! Dark days are coming, and they're ever so sweet!

#SDCC 2013: A Few Tasty Morsels of What's Ahead in Hannibal Season 2; Watch the Entire Panel

#SDCC 2013: A Few Tasty Morsels of What's Ahead in Hannibal Season 2Horror fans love to discuss, debate, and disagree; however, one thing we all seem to be in agreement on is that we can't get enough of NBC's "Hannibal"! Here are a few tidbits of what's ahead in Season 2.

Yesterday we took part in roundtable interviews with series star Hugh Dancy (Will Graham), creator/showrunner Bryan Fuller, director/exec producer David Slade, and exec producer Martha De Laurentiis at San Diego Comic-Con. They couldn't divulge a lot of details, but we did learn enough to whet our appetites even more for the continuing adventures of Dr. Lecter and Will.

Slade kicked things off by discussing the look and tone of the show, which he attributes to Fuller being such a visual writer. Bryan gives them all the pieces to create a mini-horror movie each week; his and the other directors' job is to ground it in reality. All the episodes are shot in a specific way so that while everyone talks about how surprised they are such a "gory" show is allowed on network TV, audience members really just think they are seeing much more than they actually do. Things are suggested or blurred or shot a bit out of frame to get past the censors but still keep the horror crowd happy and engaged.

Filming kicks off September 10th, and Slade will direct the first two episodes, the Season 2 finale, and possibly more depending on his schedule.

Dancy was up next, and he said we have a fair distance to go before we get to see Hannibal behind bars. Will still has to go through a trial and convince others of his belief that Hannibal is the killer. All of his relationships are fractured, especially with Jack, who is now moving much closer to Hannibal. He's even separated from his dogs!

De Laurentiis touched upon the trial aspect during Season 2 and said we don't need to worry about it becoming more of a procedural type show. Things will wrap up fairly quickly in that regard. We'll learn more stories from Hannibal's past, including his relationship with Gillian Anderson's Bedelia Du Maurier. Nothing in the show is filler; themes that were introduced in Season 1 will come back later. There are a few loose ends: We still haven't seen Abigail's body, nor do we know exactly where Eddie Izzard's Dr. Gideon is. And let's not forget about Miriam Lass. And what about tabloid blogger Freddie Lounds? She's complicit in Hannibal's shenanigans, but as a friend who truly cared about Abigail, she want to find out what really happened so she'll keep digging around.

Fuller provided us with the most "meat" in our discussions. Season 2 has been fully arced out with up to Episode 3 completely written and Episode 4 being broken now. As for when "Hannibal" will return, NBC is still deciding if it will be in the spring (like Season 1) or possibly held until summer, which seems to be all the rage right now.

#SDCC 2013: A Few Tasty Morsels of What's Ahead in Hannibal Season 2Since Will has no proof of Hannibal's guilt, the good doctor is feeling safe for now, but he still has to be savvy and stay one step ahead of Will. If Season 1 was all about their bromance, Season 2 is their nasty breakup. Will comes out swinging, and there will be a different dynamic. While he has limited resources, we will see Will's relationship with Dr. Alana Bloom evolve.

What about guest stars? They'd love for Lance Henriksen to come back. We've heard rumors of David Bowie playing Hannibal's uncle, and they're still hoping that will come together. If not, Fuller will "park" the character for a while until Bowie is available. And Gillian is in talks to return - they're just working on the dates. He said they have a great storyline for her. She's a good foe for Hannibal and will not fall prey to his traps. How much does she know? How much is she figuring out? That is the stuff Fuller's most excited about. Despite of them being very cold characters, there's a very sexy heat between them. When asked if possibly Will might share some moments with Dr. Du Maurier, he said he would love to get those characters in a scene together.

Speaking of sex, when asked about Hannibal continuing to pursue Alana, Fuller said he definitely wants "more sexy" in Season 2. So "stay tuned for who is going to be doing who!"

As for whether Hannibal is a sociopath, a psychopath, or what, Fuller feels Hannibal is unique and uncategorizable - a "total work of fiction." Hannibal works in a way that he is protecting the beauty of the world. He sees himself as an elitist and "better than," but he is also capable of caring. His caring for Will is genuine, and part of his radically unorthodox therapy of Will is to get him to accept all parts of himself. Hannibal is curious more than anything else. He is curious about the human condition, how he feels, how other people feel.

With Will in prison and Hannibal on the outside, the roles we're used to seeing them in have been switched where characters will be approaching Will in the institution and seeking advice on cases. He is kind of taking Hannibal’s place. Fuller called the scenario "inversions that will be really fun to explore."

Fuller wrapped things up with some remarks about how, after working on this show, he looks at food so much differently now. Yeah, Bryan, so do we! Thanks for messing with our heads; we can't wait to see what sick and twisted, yet tasty, treats await us next year!

A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.

The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine, is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White (Moore) and her daughter, Carrie (Moretz). Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin (Judy Greer) tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson (Portia Doubleday, Youth in Revolt), but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell (Gabriella Wilde, The Three Musketeers), regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross (newcomer Ansel Elgort), to take Carrie to prom. #SDCC 2013: Dawn of the Dead 3D Conversion on its WayIn what is probably the most unexpected news of the San Diego Comic-Con, word has come that George A. Romero's seminal classic, Dawn of the Dead, is next in line for 3D treatment!

According to Deadline Richard P. Rubenstein, who produced Dawn of the Dead and owns the rights to Romero’s 1979 classic, is in the homestretch of a 3D conversion of Romero’s groundbreaking followup to Night Of The Living Dead. Rubenstein started this crusade in 2007, and while he’s not sure what he will do with the refashioned film, he so far has one hour and 31 minutes converted of a two-hour, six-minute film. He expects the conversion to be done by early fall.

"It is proving to be more 3D friendly than many films, because George’s style was to compose within the frame, rather than across frames,” Rubenstein says. “That means there is a lot of action within each frame, from front to back and it makes the conversion process more friendly. It’s like you’re moving the audience closer to the movie. What I didn’t want to do is not edit anything George did in his original movie, and nothing has been altered in this process,” with the exception of a couple of technical credits of the conversion companies that became partners in this effort. They are the Korea-based Stereo Pictures Media Inc conversion house with backing from DNext Media. Converting the film has cost in the $6 million range, which is something considering the original cost around $685,000.

Rubenstein said the next step is figuring how to theatrically re-introduce the forerunner to zombie films who weren’t born when Dawn Of The Dead came out. He is content to move as slow as a Romero zombie if necessary to do it right. “We want to get our partners’ money back but since no financing came from distribution sources, we’re totally free,” he said. “It is getting the same kind of care, love and attention to detail that went into converting The Titanic,” Rubenstein said.

#SDCC 2013: RoboCop Rating RevealedEvan Dickson from our brothers in harm Bloody Disgusting just checked in with a quick tidbit of news from the San Diego Comic-Con concerning the much talked about remake of RoboCop. Read on for details.

Director Jose Padilha said they were pretty much aiming for a PG-13. “We were shooting the movie to be seen by the broadest possible audience, which means PG-13. This whole idea about ‘RoboCop’ has to be “R” because the first one was amazingly violent… I never really bought into that. You know, ‘The Dark Knight’ was PG-13, so you can get away with a lot.”

Sam Jackson added, “It would be “R” for its time, not “R” now." Padilla agreed, “Yeah, maybe now it isn’t.”

Jose Padilha's film stars Joel Kinnaman as the title hero plus Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Jay Baruchel, Michael Keaton, Michael Kenneth Williams, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Abbie Cornish, Aimee Garcia, and Jackie Earle Haley.

#SDCC 2013: New Red-Band Riddick Trailer Brings the GoodsIf you weren't excited for the flick before, then this new red-band trailer for Riddick should more than do the trick for you. Check it out and start counting the days to getting some good old fashioned R-rated action!

Riddick stars Vin Diesel and is based on a script by David Twohy, who wrote both Chronicles of Riddick and Pitch Black, where he first created the character of Riddick.

Joining Diesel are a returning Karl Urban (Star Trek) as Vaako; Jordi Molla as Santana, the arrogant captain of the mercenary ship; Matt Nable (Killer Elite) as Boss Johns, a man looking for answers; Katee Sackhoff (TV's "Battlestar Galactica") as the Nordic mercenary Dahl; and Bokeem Woodbine (Total Recall) as bounty hunter Moss. Rounding out the cast are Dave Bautista (The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption), Conrad Pla (Immortals), Raoul Trujillo (Apocalypto), Nolan Funk (Aliens in America), and two-time Grammy Award-nominated singer Keri Hilson.

    Synopsis:
Riddick, the latest chapter of the groundbreaking saga that began with 2000’s hit sci-fi film Pitch Black and 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick reunites writer/director David Twohy (A Perfect Getaway, The Fugitive) and star Vin Diesel (the Fast and Furious franchise, xXx). Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Riddick, a dangerous, escaped convict wanted by every bounty hunter in the known galaxy.

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.

Helmed by Jon Wright and penned by Kevin Lehane, the creature feature stars Richard Coyle (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time), Ruth Bradley (Flyboys), and Russell Tovey ("Being Human" UK).

    Synopsis:
Ciarán O’Shea, the handsome though washed up policeman of sleepy Erin Island, has a daily routine consisting mainly of hanging out at the pub with the local drunks and various other charmingly eccentric characters. But his day is about to go horribly wrong.

Teamed up with the unwanted help of Lisa – an uptight workaholic policewoman from the Irish mainland – they suddenly find themselves dealing with dead whales, decapitated fishermen and weird alien creatures or “grabbers”. Like a giant squid with tentacles, fanged jaws and a three-foot barbed tongue, they’re making mincemeat of the locals.

Faced with another imminent attack, O’Shea and Lisa figure out that the only person to survive the last onslaught only did so because he was so drunk his blood was literally toxic to the monsters. So there is only one thing for it: They have to get the entire village as drunk as possible in order to survive the night ... a task that the villagers apply themselves to with gusto.

But one person must remain sober so for the first time in years O’Shea has to face up to things without a drink. When things don’t go to plan, an extremely drunk Lisa and a very sober O’Shea have to reconcile their differences and somehow save the day.

#SDCC 2013: Rodar Y Rodar Begins to Crawl to MeWell, not really. They're not crawling to me... that would just be awkward. What Rodar y Rodar is doing though is adapting another bone-chilling graphic novel for the screen. Read on for details.

    From the Press Release
The Orphanage producer Rodar y Rodar has teamed up with Crawl to Me creator Alan Robert and his producing partners Jeff Mazzola (Descent) and Chris White (My Super Psycho Sweet 16 franchise) to adapt the critically acclaimed IDW Publishing graphic novel.

Victor Garcia, who helmed the upcoming Gallows Hill (starring Twilight’s Peter Facinelli), is in the director’s chair for the character-driven psychological horror film with a screenplay penned by TJ Cimfel and David White. Glenn Allen, Co-Founder/VFX Producer of Emmy-award winning Brainstorm Digital (Boardwalk Empire) is on board as VFX Supervisor. Producers aim to shoot interiors on a sound stage in Spain, where Rodar is based, and exteriors in Canada.

In 2011, the Crawl to Me comic book miniseries, written and illustrated by Robert, was published by award-winning IDW. The series was later collected into a graphic novel and sold out within days of its January 2012 release. IDW followed up its success with three more editions: an oversized hardcover Evil Edgar Edition, and two more top-shelf versions through their IDW Limited division.

The film takes place in an isolated country town during the frigid winter months. It centers on a young family as they cope with a series of disturbing events that force them to question their relationship, their faith and their very existence.

“Being a part of the process in making this film a reality has been an amazing journey for me,” said Robert. “We’ve built a team of incredibly talented people around this project who are all super passionate about telling this story. The dark subject matter is extremely delicate and had to be handled right. It is in excellent hands.” Robert recently announced his fourth partnership with IDW to publish his next horror series The Shunned One in 2014.

New Illustrated One-Sheet for Chastity Bites DeliversTwo new one-sheets for the latest flick from John V. Knowles, Chastity Bites, have arrived featuring artwork by illustrator Tim Seeley. Check 'em out!

    From the Press Release
In celebration of San Diego Comic-Con 2013 (SDCC 2013), Weirdsmobile Productions is thrilled to unleash exclusive CHASTITY BITES character art inspired by the feminist, ‘girl-powered’ heroine of the film LEAH, played by Allison Scagliotti (“Warehouse 13’), and her virgin blood-obsessed arch nemesis LIZ, played by Louise Griffiths (“The Revenant”). Created by comic book artist Tim Seeley of “Hack/Slash” fame, these designs sparked a unique collaboration between Team Chastity Bites and the popular artist after finding out about all-Geek podcast/radio show Fandom Planet’s campaign to encourage the producers of the “Hack/Slash” movie to cast Scagliotti in the lead role of Cassie (hashtag: #AllisonScag4Cassie).

Says producer and screenwriter Lotti Pharriss Knowles, "Tim Seeley obviously loves genre material and strong female characters as much as we do, so we were over the moon when he said he'd create artwork for us!".”

"CHASTITY BITES had me at horror, lesbians and Alison Scagliotti!" said Tim Seeley. “I was honored to work with these talented filmmakers to make some cool art for the movie!"

Horror-comedy CHASTITY BITES turns its lens on notorious serial killer Elizabeth Bathory, who believed that bathing in virgin blood would keep her young and beautiful forever. Still alive today, she's found a perfect hunting ground for her "botox" as an abstinence educator in conservative America...but will a brave young blogger and reporter for the high school paper finally put an end to the “Blood Countess’” reign of terror and save her best friend from becoming the next victim? The film, written and produced by Lotti Pharriss Knowles (producer on HBO Documentary Films'"Vito" and "I Am Divine"), marks the feature film directorial debut of John V. Knowles (short film "SHADOW.NET"). The film and Team Chastity Bites are currently on the film festival circuit slaying audiences in Salt Lake City, Philadelphia and North Carolina with more film festivals to be announced soon!

The film stars Allison Scagliotti (SyFy's "Warehouse 13"), Francia Raisa (ABC Family's "Secret Life of the American Teenager"), Louise Griffiths ("The Revenant"), Eddy Rioseco (ABC's "Parenthood"), Amy Okuda ("The Guild"), Sarah Stouffer ("Bloomington"), Lindsey Morgan (ABC's "General Hospital"), Laura Niemi (upcoming “Jobs”), Jennifer Gimenez (Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills"), Greer Grammer (MTV's "Awkward.") and Stuart Gordon ("Re-Animator").

Attending SDCC 2013? Make sure to show your support and visit the Image Comics booth to meet comic artist Tim Seeley all weekend, and don’t miss the official “Warehouse 13” panel with Allison Scagliotti and cast IN PERSON on Saturday, July 20, at 5pm, Indigo Ballroom of the Hilton Bayfront.

#SDCC 2013: The Walking Dead - Casting News and Up-Close Insight into Season 4

    $

    0

#SDCC 2013: The Walking Dead - Casting News and Up-Close Insight into Season 4After attending “The Walking Dead” roundtables at the SDCC, we came away with some casting news we hadn't heard yet, a few inklings of what's in store for fans of the show come October, and a bit more info about the tone of Season 4.

First to join our table were new showrunner Scott Gimple, comics creator Robert Kirkman, and the dreaded Governor himself, David Morrissey. If you watched the new Season 4 trailer (and if you didn't, do so immediately – we'll wait) and have also read the comics, you probably noticed a lot of elements from them in the footage. Gimple's philosophy in that regard is to incorporate big moments from the source material with different characters and different contexts but keep them recognizable. They have to change, of course, due to the fact that we have characters who are now dead but still living in the comics and vice versa as well as characters like Daryl who exist only in the TV world.

One question everyone had after watching the trailer is: Where's the Governor? What's his mindset now? Morrissey said he's in a “deeply traumatic place.” His actions have had consequences on his soul and are a burden. He still has some great, complex things to do, but past events have taken a toll. For instance, after killing his own people, who is he?

Kirkman added that one of the things he's most excited about in the new season is, of course, the return of the Governor, but also the presence of Tyreese, who will be stepping up and taking a more central role as the character is integrated into the cast. He did say the best part about adapting the earlier issues of the comics was the opportunity to revisit the Governor.

The Walking Dead Season 4 San Diego Comic-Con Poster

We asked about how they're bringing in all the new characters from Woodbury, and Gimple mentioned one of them, Zack, will be played by Kyle Gallner (A Haunting in Connecticut, Jennifer's Body) and have a romantic relationship with someone (we're thinking possibly Beth).

But the biggest thing they talked about (without actually talking about it) was a “new threat” being introduced this season You can't stab it in the face like a zombie or reason with it like a person – it could very well be the “most deadly” thing our survivors have faced yet.

When asked about taking on his new role as showrunner, Gimple said it's really all the same stuff he was already doing, just more of it, with time management being his biggest challenge.

Next we chatted with Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Steven Yeun (Glenn), and Scott Wilson (Hershel). You might have noticed Hershel getting around a bit better than we've previously seen him in the trailer. Wilson confirmed that Hershel is adapting to the loss of his leg and is becoming more agile.

Cohan and Yeun described Maggie and Glenn as facing Season 4 “solidified, united, and together.” Maggie is stepping up a bit more as far as helping out Rick and the others. She's more capable than ever and renewed, with Rick able to rely on her, filling the void left by Andrea's death. Yeun mentioned that for Glenn, it's a more civilized environment they find themselves in, but danger's always around. He's especially anxious to see what happens with Carl and what he's turning into. People are put under pressure, and how they respond to it is not necessarily what you'd think. He believes Glenn reached his breaking point – or at least very close to it – but he has resiliency and is able to come back from it.

The Walking Dead Season 4 San Diego Comic-Con Poster

Then we were joined by Chad Coleman (Tyreese), Andrew Lincoln (Rick), and exec producers Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert. Chad said how thrilled he was to film his scene in the trailer, which is of course a total homage to the comics. He described the new season as “epic and gut-wrenching,” with Hurd nodding vigorously in agreement. She said Season 4 is a true hybrid of past seasons: “character-driven with seminal moments of horror, scope, and action but all in service to the characters.”

Lincoln told us with regard to Rick's mental state that they are reeling him back him so he can reclaim what he once was. He's a man “trying to be a single dad in the apocalypse.” We'll get a little sense of the old sheriff he was. The death of Andrea and Carl becoming a murderer are the catalysts to his return to who he was. He's a man “wrestling with lots of things,” but he's a born leader so that hasn't changed but his responsibilities have.

Coleman chimed in that “conflict makes drama,” and we'll see Tyreese wrestle with the rules of engagement around him and how he fits in. He'll be tested as “no one goes unscathed.” Lincoln (despite Hurd kicking him under the table to watch what he's saying) told us to watch out for Episode 3 as Chad does some especially excellent work.

The Walking Dead Season 4 San Diego Comic-Con Poster

As for how the zombies are evolving, Lincoln warned that they are behaving in different ways. But again, Hurd mentioned how this season there are “threats from within and without.” Lincoln added that we'll see “more horrifying things that have nothing to do with fighting zombies.” The horror element is back more than ever with no safety in the world of the living or the world of the dead. There will be constant tension between deciding whether to keep moving or stay put and attempt to build some normalcy. Andrea's death gave them the opportunity to look at the story from a different angle and approach, and best of all, nothing is a repeat of what we've seen so far.

Our last group was the always entertaining special effects makeup supervisor/exec producer Greg Nicotero and fan favorite Norman Reedus (Daryl). As we already knew, Greg directed the first episode of the new season, and he promised as the episodes unfold, we'll see dozens of new sculpts, puppets, and even some zombie mouths that move. The zombies are decomposing more and getting really nasty. All the new gags are intrinsic to the storytelling.

As for that “new threat” everyone kept mentioned, Nicotero said we'll find out what it is by the end of the first episode.

Reedus was asked how he thought Daryl felt after finding his brother, Merle, only to have him taken away so quickly. He said that he had already accepted Merle's death, and yes, to lose him again hurts, but after being in this world so long, he loses people all the time.

The Walking Dead Season 4 San Diego Comic-Con Poster

And how does Daryl feel about Tyreese, another Alpha male, joining the group? Reedus said it's not really like that; it's more about how to continue on rather than who's going to be the leader. As for Daryl's leadership style, Reedus said it's different. If things needs to be done, he'll do them, but he's not a “look in your eyes, tell me your feelings” kind of guy.

Nicotero said the overall theme of Season 4 is: What will you do to keep someone you love safe? How far will you go? Norman gave us the two-word description: “sympathetic loss.” Nicotero left us with the reminder that everybody has had to do terrible things to survive. Can you come back from that? Do they make you less human by doing them?

I guess we'll find out come October, and we can't wait!
