The Arnold Schwarzenegger zombie flick Maggie may have found its titular character at last. The one-time Little Miss Sunshine is all grown up and ready to... rot.

THR is reporting that Abigail Breslin (The Call) is in talks to play a young woman who realizes she will slowly join the ranks of the undead.

The film is based on the Black List script by John Scott 3 and is set during a time when a “walking dead” virus has spread across the country. Schwarzenegger, who recently closed a deal to appear in the fifth Terminator, will portray the father on a journey to help his daughter come to terms with her infection as she slowly becomes a zombie. Chloe Moretz had been in negotiations last year to play the zombie lead but now is not appearing due to scheduling issues.

The film will be directed by commercials director Henry Hobson with production set to commence in the fall. Schwarzenegger is producing alongside Pierre-Ange Le Pogam, Matt Baer, Trevor Kaufman, Colin Bates, and Joey Tufaro. The movie will be executive produced by Bill Johnson, Jim Seibel, Ara Keshishian, Hubert Gibbs, Claudia Bluemhuber, and Scott 3.

Being a huge fan of director Aharon Keshales'Rabies, I've been anticipating his follow-up feature for what feels like an eternity. After feasting my eyes on this awesome poster, I'm all the more stoked to see this sucker!

Directed by Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado, Big Bad Wolves (review here) stars Lior Ashkenazi (Footnote), Tzachi Grad (The Flood), Rotem Keinan (The Exchange), and Dov Glickman.

After looking at this poster for the upcoming giallo The Strange Color of Your Body's Tears, I only have one question: Where can I purchase this poster?

The giallo throwback stars Klaus Tange, Jean-Michel Vovk, Sylvia Camarda, and Sam Louwyck and centers on the surreal drama that follows a husband who plunges into a world of nightmare and violence while searching for his missing wife.

A woman vanishes. Her husband inquires into the strange circumstances of her disappearance. Did she leave him? Is she dead? As he goes along searching, he plunges into a world of nightmare and violence...

After watching this new trailer, we're kind of digging the look and tone of this remake, which looks to be staking a claim in some pretty dark territory. Hard to call it for sure, but we're certainly interested in seeing this updated version of Patrick.

At the helm of the remake is Mark Hartley (Not Quite Hollywood), and the flick stars Richard E. Grant (Dracula, Corpse Bride), Rachel Griffiths (Blow), and Sharni Vinson (You're Next).

Synopsis
After killing his mother and her lover some years before, Patrick is the comatose patient in Room 15 of a remote, private psychiatric clinic run by the secretive Dr. Roget, who treats him as guinea pig in his bizarre studies of life and death.

When Kathy, a nurse who has recently separated from her boyfriend, begins working at the clinic, she is instructed to care for Patrick. She is disturbed by Roget’s treatment of him and somehow feels that Patrick is trying to make a connection with her. When Kathy realizes that the lifeless murderer can communicate, she is shocked but compelled to prove her theory. Patrick has psychokinetic powers, which he uses to talk to Kathy by transferring his thoughts to her computer. As Patrick’s communication becomes stronger, strange and terrifying events begin to occur. Patrick has feelings for Kathy, and his affection is about to manifest itself as a deadly, bloody obsession.

We haven't heard much about Jim Mickle's We Are What We Are remake lately, but with a September 27th release scheduled for NYC and LA and a nationwide roll-out to follow, we thought now was the perfect time to meet the film's characters.

Premiering at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and screening at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival's Directors' Fortnight, Jim Mickle's We Are What We Are is a Gothic drama told through the eyes of the Parker daughters (played by Julia Garner and Ambyr Childers). Synopsis

Per Deadline, Rebecca Creskoff (pictured right; "Hung") will play Christine, who befriends Norma and pulls her into the upper circle of White Pine Bay Society. Charming, witty, and intelligent, Christine is the first female friend Norma has ever had.

Kenny Johnson (below left; "Sons of Anarchy,""The Shield"), who is also recurring on the final season of "Dexter," joins the Bates clan as Caleb, Norma’s estranged brother.

The first bit of casting news for Sean Carter's upcoming thriller Home Invasion has busted in, and it involves a Disney Channel ingenue who's ready to dabble once again in the horror genre.

Per Deadline, "Shake It Up" star Bella Thorne has scored a lead role in Home Invasion, Carter's debut feature about a family imprisoned by intruders who play a life-and-death game in which the mysterious rules become clear as the night unfolds. Thorne (who previously appeared in horror films Forget Me Not, Craw Lake, and The Seer) will play Jamie, a disillusioned teenager intensely guarding a personal secret.

Voltage Pictures is financing the project, written by first-time scribe and co-producer Joseph Dembner, and producing with Silver Pictures’ low-budget label Zinc Entertainment. Silver Pictures’ Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman will produce with Voltage’s Nicolas Chartier and Craig Flores. Joel Silver, Steve Richards, and Michael Fiore will exec produce.

A new still has come from Warner Bros. for Prisoners that features stars Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal in what is no doubt a heated conversation. Something tells us neither of these guys will be able to be ignored.

The flick, directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Aaron Guzikowski, stars Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Melissa Leo, and David Dastmalchian. Warner Bros. has set a September 20th, 2013, release date.

Synopsis
How far would you go to protect your child? Keller Dover (Jackman) is facing every parent’s worst nightmare. His six-year-old daughter, Anna, is missing, together with her young friend Joy; and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had earlier been parked on their street. Uncork’d Entertainment proudly announces the multi-platform release of Byron Turk’s (Storm Chasers, Flipping Boston) The Bates Haunting, dubbed by the director as “Scream meets Scooby Doo”. The indie thriller was shot in rural Pennsylvania at Arasapha Farm’s original Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride, one of America’s top Halloween attractions. The Bates Haunting will be available August 6 for rental and digital and available for sale on DVD a few months later.

Agnes Rickover (Jean Louise O’Sullivan; Valley Peaks, Bullrun) visited the Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride looking for some Halloween fear and fun. Instead, she witnessed a tragedy: the fiery death of her best friend Lily making her dramatic debut on the Hayride. After a year spent obsessing over the horrible accident, Agnes takes a job at the Haunted Hayride, hoping to face her trauma and exorcise her demons. She thinks this could be an investigative opportunity as well, and when her new co-workers end up victims of mysterious accidents, she knows it is. With her new sidekick Clyde, Agnes must figure out who – or what – is behind all of this mayhem before more people die.

Mark Webber (pictured; Bomb the System, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) is set to star in and exec produce indie horror/sci-fi flick Welcome to Willits, which Metamorphic Films and Real Horror Show Pictures have slated for an October production start.

Webber plays pot farmer Brock, who along with some unlucky campers runs into mysterious creatures in the Northern California woods that are responsible for several abductions and attacks. The project is described as capturing a throwback feel with a dash of comedy mixed in with the horror.

Willits will film in LA and Kern County’s Sequoia National Forest under helmers Trevor Ryan and Tim Ryan, aka the Ryan Brothers, who wrote and will direct the movie together. Teresa Zales will produce for Transmedia Content and management company Metamorphic Films alongside Tim Ryan’s Real Horror Show Pictures. The team has tapped Monster FX’s Ron Karkosa and Mark Villalobos to handle creature design and special effects.

Modernciné announced that JUG FACE, the tense horror-thriller written and directed by Chad Crawford Kinkle, will have a national theatrical rollout on August 9th through its domestic distribution arm Modern Distributors. The film was produced by Andrew van den Houten (Funeral Kings, The Woman) and Robert Tonino (Home Movie, Ghoul) for Modernciné and stars Lauren Ashley Carter (The Woman), Sean Bridgers (“Deadwood”), Sean Young (Blade Runner), Larry Fessenden (I Sell the Dead), and Daniel Manche (The Girl Next Door). JUG FACE tells the story of a pregnant teen trying to escape a backwoods community when she discovers that she may be sacrificed to a mysterious pit. The entity in the pit requires a life for keeping the community safe. The face of the person to be sacrificed is crafted onto a ceramic jug. When ignored, the entity unleashes an evil onto the community. Now no one is safe as tragedy befalls each member one by one, and they soon realize that the pit wants what it wants.

Synopsis
The pit has spoken. Dawai, the potter of a backwoods community, has crafted a face on a ceramic jug of the person that the pit wants sacrificed. Ada, pregnant with her brother’s child, has seen her face on the jug and hides it in the woods, determined to save the life of her unborn. If she does not sacrifice herself, however, the creature from the pit will kill everyone in the village until she does.

The search was ongoing for a while, but finally 20th Century Fox has found the actor they believe to be the right person to play Victor Von Frankenstein alongside Daniel Radliffe’s Igor in the Paul McGuigan-directed Frankenstein.

Per Deadline, the studio has chosen its X-Men: First Class star James McAvoy to portray the good doctor, and final negotiations are under way.

Paul McGuigan is at the helm of this revisionist take on Mary Shelley's masterpiece. Based on a script by Max Landis (Chronicle), this adaptation of Shelley's novel of the same name puts a more sci-fi spin on the classic story about a creature produced through a scientific experiment.

The film is currently slated to arrive in theatres on October 17, 2014.

As the titles of this story suggests, a new not safe for work trailer for Thanatomorphose has come our way, and as per usual we have no clue what we're looking at, but we like it! Hell, we can barely even pronounce this flick's title, but who cares? This looks nuts!

The film stars stars Kayden Rose, Davyd Tousignant, Émile Beaudry, Karine Picard, Roch-Denis Gagnon, Éryka L. Cantieri, Pat Lemaire and Simon Laperrière.

A Cronenbergian smorgasbord of rancid flesh and sexual gratification, Thanatomorphose, by Canadian director Eric Falardeau, picks up where Nekromantic left off. “Discovering several bruises on her body after a night of rough sex, a young woman is shocked as, rather than heal itself, her body begins rotting from the inside out. She faces a terrifying and gory descent into a living death, as her putrefying body begins to literally ‘fall off the bone’.”

A strange and claustrophobic tale of sexuality, horror and bodily fluids, Thanatomorphose will not only make you wince, but is strangely uplifting in its take on mortality. The title means the physical signs of a body’s decomposition, caused by death.

Synopsis

When her sister, Lara (Barton), tries to investigate the mystery of what happened, she moves into the same apartment and encounters the odd neighbors in the building, including an eerie nine-year-old girl who seems to somehow know the real reason for Janet’s fall. Lara soon realizes that her sister’s death might spell the same fate for her unless she can overcome the strange events that are terrorizing the inhabitants in Apartment 1303.

The second trailer for the latest flick from Alex de la Iglesia, Spain’s most prominent black comedy helmer, has arrived; and we have your first look at the goods! Check out the latest on Las Brujas de Zugarramurdi (Witching and Bitching).

The flick centers on a band of thieves trying to flee to France after purloining 25,000 gold rings from a Spanish city. A curse is placed on them, and they fall into the clutches of the witches of the Navarrese town of Zugarramurdi.

Witching's ensemble cast boasts some of Spain’s biggest film and TV stars, such as Mario Casas (I Want You), Hugo Silva (Sex, Parties and Lies) and Carmen Maura, who earned a Best Actress award at San Sebastian in 2000 for her role in Commonwealth. Further cast members are Terele Pavez, Carolina Bang, Secun de la Rosa, Pepon Nieto and Jaime Ordonez.

According to De la Iglesia, Witching and Bitching is a mix of his 1995 groundbreaking hit The Day of the Beast with multi-awarded 2000 comedy Commonwealth. “It is an outrageous comedy, in the line of ‘It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World,’ but a horror comedy,” De la Iglesia explained.

The Weinstein Company will distribute Snowpiercer in North America, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.

The English-language directorial debut of Bong Joon-ho (The Host), the film stars The Avengers’ Chris Evans, The Help’s Octavia Spencer, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Alison Pill, Tilda Swinton, and Song Kang-ho. Based on the graphic novel Le Transperceneige, Snowpiercer is set in the not too distant future, where a new Ice Age has wiped out most of the human race. With a revolt brewing onboard, the Snowpiercer is a train of Earth’s lone survivors that travels around the cold world.
