Synopsis
Magnet Releasing is handling North American distribution for the acclaimed comedy/horror film BAD MILO, directed by Jacob Vaughan, written by Vaughan and Benjamin Hayes, and starring Ken Marino and Gillian Jacobs. BAD MILO features notable puppetry by Frank Langley and Bob Mano.

Duncan’s (Ken Marino) life is a real pain in the ass. Tormented by his manipulative, crooked boss (Patrick Warburton); a nagging mother (Mary Kay Place); a deadbeat new age dad (Stephen Root); and a sweet, yet pressuring, wife (Gillian Jacobs), his mounting stress starts to trigger an insufferable gastrointestinal reaction. With incredible turns in "True Blood" and "American Horror Story" Season 1 (for which he received an Emmy nomination), it's a no-brainer that Denis O'Hare would be asked to return to "AHS" for Season 3, subtitled "Coven."

Showrunner Ryan Murphy broke the news on Twitter that O'Hare, who played poor doomed Larry Harvey during the series' first season but didn't appear in "AHS: Asylum," joins perennial returnee Evan Peters as the only male actors announced thus far for "AHS: Coven." They're going to need each other when they face all the formidable women who have already signed on: Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Gabourey Sidibe, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, and Patti Lupone.

Get ready for a new blast of Canadian chills to be headed your way as D Films has announced that their new thriller The Scarehouse has begun pre-production and will start principal photography on August 20th in Windsor, Canada.

The flick will be directed and co-written by up-and-coming Canadian filmmaker Gavin Michael Booth. The project was fast tracked following the success of Booth’s latest short film, To Hell, With Love, which has generated significant buzz and positive critical response from the Canadian film festival circuit.

The film will receive a North American theatrical release in Q1 of 2014 by D Films with Universal distributing the film subsequently in North America through physical and digital Home Entertainment channels. D Films is handling international sales.

Created by Kailey Marsh, The Blood List has quickly become to go-to source for the film industry to find new filmmakers who have their fingers planted firmly on the pulse of what's going on within the horror genre today. It's that special time of year again. Do you have what it takes?

As Halloween is fast approaching, so is the release of The Blood List 2013. For those not in the know... the list is made up of the top 13 unproduced horror screenplays of the year. The list is created by literary manager and producer Kailey Marsh (pictured; Station 3). Once the goods are gathered up, over 100 executives are asked for their top three favorite dark genre scripts of the year, and then the list is compiled based on those votes.

But things are a little different and A LOT more accessible this year!

In an effort to widen the script and writer pool to lesser known screenwriters, Bloodlist.com is offering a service where you can have your script covered and rated. At the beginning of the voting cycle (September), the top 10 highest rated script loglines will be sent out to the voters, and they will have the option to read the screenplay for contention to make it on this year's list. It's a cool way to gain exposure for new writers and their work in the horror genre. Who doesn't need that, right?

The bottom line is you never know where the next John Carpenter or George A. Romero will be coming from. This is your chance to put your skills to the test, and it's far better to try than never know.

The film community has lost another valued one of its own as the lovely and Oscar-nominated actress Eileen Brennan has passed away at age 80 in Burbank, California, after a long battle with bladder cancer.

Eileen's most celebrated role will always be that of Capt. Doreen Lewis in 1980's Goldie Hawn vehicle Private Benjamin, and of course who could possibly forget her portrayal of Mrs. Peacock in 1985's Clue? While those roles were rock solid, horror fans will always remember Ms. Brennan as the delightfully crazy cat lady in 2001's Jeepers Creepers as well as her standout role in HBO's "Tales From the Crypt" during the "Till Death Do We Part" episode in Season 5 as Ruth Sanderson.

Dimension Films has announced today plans to bring a new terror to life in conjunction with Jason Blum and Blumhouse Productions. Read on for your first details regarding the next face of terror known only as Pest. And no, we're not talking about a remake of that horrid John Leguizamo film.

Dimension Films and IM Global announced today that Dimension has acquired U.S. distribution rights to the horror thriller PEST, directed by Mark Tonderai (HOUSE AT THE END OF THE STREET), from IM Global and Blumhouse Productions. Octane, the genre division of IM Global, a subsidiary of Indian conglomerate Reliance ADA, will fully finance the film which will be produced by Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions (SINISTER, INSIDIOUS, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, THE PURGE) and Sherryl Clark of Busted Shark (CLOVERFIELD). Blumhouse International is overseeing foreign sales. BHI has a worldwide distribution and servicing deal with IM Global. IM Global CEO Stuart Ford, Charles Layton and Matt Kaplan are executive producers. PEST is based on Barbara Marshall’s original screenplay, which appeared on the Black List, the Blood List, and the Hit List in 2012. Discussions are underway for the lead roles with some top talent in consideration.

In PEST, when a deadly virus invades their hometown, a teen documents her family's new life in quarantine and tries to protect her infected sister as society begins to crumble outside.

“I was captivated by Marshall’s screenplay. There is a complicated family drama amidst a terrifying and tense story of an outbreak that is unleashed. I’m excited to be working with Jason Blum and Stuart Ford again to bring this terrifying thriller to audiences,” said Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company.

During the network's presentation for the Television Critics Association's Summer 2013 Press Tour, it was announced that Josh Hartnett and Eva Green are the first stars to sign on to the hotly-anticipated new psychosexual horror series.

"Penny Dreadful" is created, written, and executive produced by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan (Hugo, The Aviator, Gladiator) and executive produced by Oscar winner Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Skyfall) and Neal Street's Pippa Harris (Revolutionary Road, Call the Midwife). Bayona is an acclaimed and award-winning director, best known for his work on the hugely successful 2007 horror film The Orphanage and the 2012 Oscar contender The Impossible.

"Penny Dreadful" will begin filming in October and premiere on Showtime in 2014. Look for lots more soon!

Synopsis:
In "Penny Dreadful" some of literature’s most famously terrifying characters – including Dr. Frankenstein and his creature, Dorian Gray, and iconic figures from the novel Dracula – become embroiled in Victorian London. According to author Drew Magary himself on Twitter, Derrickson has scored the film rights to Magary’s The Postmortal, which is also known as The End Specialist in the UK.

Evil Dead remake director Fede Alvarez is in the news again, and this time it has nothing to do with Sam Raimi's legendary franchise. Read on for the first details on Machina, his sci-fi project!

According to THR, Alvarez has sold Machina, a sci-fi action project, to MRC. Logline details are being kept under wraps, locked in the basement of a cabin in the woods. It is known, however, that Alvarez will co-write the script with his partner, Rodo Sayagues. Alvarez is also attached to direct.
