"True Blood" star Stephen Moyer takes the lead in director Darren Lynn Bousman's Jersey Devil-themed nightmare Devil in the Woods (known in the US as The Barrens; review here), finally making its way to DVD in the UK.

Look for the release on 3 March 2014 via the folks at Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment.

Synopsis:
Richard (Moyer) is eager for his new wife (Mia Kirshner) and their combined family to get along so he plans a vacation to the reclusive Pine Barrens.

Desperate for real solitude, Richard leads them deeper into the woods, where it quickly becomes clear that all is not peaceful as animals are found mutilated and horrifically killed. Struck down by illness, Richard and his family are stranded as the local legend of the ‘Jersey Devil’ that stalks the darkened woods starts to haunt their thoughts.

What started out as a peaceful family trip ends up being a deadly nightmare.

The original Predator will be hitting stores in 3D on Blu-ray this coming December 17th in an amazing way, but you don't have to wait that long to start your hunt. In fact, you can begin right now!

Game Synopsis
Over the course of three weeks, fans will follow Dutch and a CIA whistleblower in their attempts to expose the government cover‐up of the Predators and help him wipe out the Predators who survived the nuclear explosion at Val Verde. Fans will be challenged to search across social channels to uncover clues on the Predator’s location while learning more about the traits that make the Predator such a formidable enemy.

Once they decipher the clue, fans will receive orders from Dutch, the protagonist of Predator, and be given the opportunity to “kill” a Predator in a first-person panorama built over Google Maps street‐view technology. Fans must be on their guard as the Predator will strike back if the hunt takes too long.

Just when you thought it was safe to start mocking the water, another new shark film is on its way with a bone to pick... out of one of its many rows of teeth. Read on for the first details of Brett Kelly's Raiders of the Lost Shark.

Here's what we know... NOTHING. At least plotwise. Scott McClelland, Jessica Silver, and Faith Rayah star in the flick, which will be released on VOD and DVD by Wild Eye Releasing later next year.

Honestly though... do you really need to know much else other than a giant shark is gonna be eating scantily clad women? That alone is enough to get us to tune in.

A new trailer has been released for the upcoming indie werewolf flick Hunger Unholy, and as you'd expect, we have it for you fresh, on tap, and waiting to sprout fur regardless of the current lunar cycle. Check it out!

Shot entirely in Ottawa, and fresh from its world premiere screening at The Mayfair Theatre, the retro-style comedy Attack of the GORILLA! has been released via the online portal Vimeo on Demand for purchase or rental.

A comedic salute to 1950's "Monster on the Loose" B-Movies (with modern twists), Attack of the GORILLA! tells the tale of Anna, a young woman who discovers an escaped gorilla is killing her friends and family. Her only hope to stop the beast is booze-hound TV show host Riggs Deardon, who tussled with another gorilla 20 years previously. Anna enlists the help of her sarcastic boyfriend Stephen, Riggs' lost in the Rat Pack-era ex-wife Mimsy, and not quite with it cop Officer Landis to stop the beast before it kills again!

“I came up with the idea while working at a local legitimate theatre,” says writer/director Dave Shaw, 44. “I knew I had no idea how to direct a play, but I had some experience in movies. The cast was primarily local theatre actors, and I had worked with (co-producer and editor) Julian Adderley before on a TV show I hosted and he cut. I was very lucky they all came aboard.”

The film had its world premiere this past summer 2013 at Ottawa’s Mayfair Theatre. “People laughed and enjoyed it,” recalls Shaw. “I can’t speak for everyone who worked on it, but for me it was tremendously gratifying to see a local crowd supporting the film and getting a kick out of it.”

Before shooting began, the producers found an innovative way to raise production funding by offering Executive Producer credits to anyone willing to invest $20 or more. After several local media outlets picked up the story, individual investors donated several thousand dollars in increments ranging from $20 to $5,000. Every one of them can now see their name on screen, in good old fashioned black and white.

Attack of the GORILLA! stars theatre and film veterans Sara Duplancic, Francis Fisk, Paul Washer (Shoot ‘Em Up, 16 Blocks), Sherry Thurig (The Bonesetter), and Penu Chalykoff. The film was written and directed by Dave Shaw and produced by Shaw and Julian Francis Adderley.

As reported by Screen Daily, AV Pictures has just inked a trio of deals on Brian O'Malley's Let Us Prey, which stars The Woman's Pollyanna McIntosh and Liam Cunningham ("Game of Thrones"). Alamode/Pierrot Le Fou has acquired rights in German-speaking Europe, Premiere TV Distribution has picked up Benelux rights while Falcon Films will distribute in The Middle East.

In Let Us Prey, currently in post-production, an enigmatic stranger is detained in the cells of a remote police station one fateful night. From his basement dungeon the charismatic loner begins to take over the minds of his fellow inmates and those of the police officers. He influences them to bend to his evil will, and their latent inner demons explode in a crazed night of blood-spilling and mayhem.

The website also reports that Manuel Martin Caneca's Cannibal has found a home courtesy of North American company Film Movement. They plan on releasing the twisted tale of romance, centering on a cannibal who falls in love with a victim, in both the US and Canada in the third quarter of next year. A VOD and DVD release will follow.

Fans of old time radio will remember The Shadow fondly! People who saw the 1994 film starring Alec Baldwin as Lamont Cranston, everyone's favorite crime fighter with supernatural powers... eh... not so much. Has time been kind to this feature film? Only The Shadow knows!

We don't know about you guys, but we are more than ready to kick 2013 straight in its ass! At least 2014 is already looking better, and even the Antichrist is ready to cheer in Radio Silence's feature film debut, Devil's Due. Speaking of which, here's a new trailer for you!

Devil’s Due, featuring “Terra Nova’s” Allison Miller (pictured) and “Friday Night Lights” star Zach Gilford, is expected to open in theaters everywhere January 17, 2014.

Penned by Lindsay Devlin, Devil’s Due is described as female-driven with horror elements. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett directed for Radio Silence.

Synopsis:
After a mysterious, lost night on their honeymoon, a newlywed couple find themselves dealing with an earlier-than-planned pregnancy. While recording everything for posterity, the husband begins to notice odd behavior in his wife that they initially write off to nerves, but as the months pass, it becomes evident that the dark changes to her body and mind have a much more sinister origin.

It's been well over a year since we've had anything to report about Universal's Ouija, based on the popular Hasbro board game. Finally the spirits are talking to us again. Read on for the first casting announcement!

"The Secret Life of the American Teenager" star Daren Kagasoff has just signed on for a role in the flick, reports Deadline. The young actor will play Trevor, a man who is skeptical about reaching out to the dead.

Written and directed by Stiles White and Juliet Snowden (Boogeyman, The Possession), the film follows a group of teens playing with a Ouija board, making contact with an evil spirit, and desperately trying to close the door they’ve opened before meeting their own fate.

Producing will be Jason Blum through his Blumhouse Prods. shingle, Michael Bay through his Platinum Dunes banner along with Platinum partners Andrew Form and Brad Fuller. Hasbro president-CEO Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir will also produce. Plot details are being kept under wraps, although indications are it will be in keeping with the high-concept, low-budget model Blum has used with success for the Paranormal Activity franchise.

2013 has been a pretty big year for witches with both Rob Zombie's Lords of Salem and "American Horror Story: Coven" delving into the land of broomsticks and evil spells. Today we learned that HBO will soon be getting in on the fun. Find all the bewitching details here!

As per The Hollywood Reporter, "Weeds" and "Orange is the New Black" creator Jenji Kohan is prepping a drama for HBO set in Salem, which is being described as a provocative period piece. The untitled Salem period drama explores the circumstances surrounding one of the most compelling chapters in American history, when intolerance and repression set neighbor against neighbor and led a town to mass hysteria.

Kohan will pen the script with Bruce Miller and Tracy Miller, and it will be a part of her deal with Lionsgate TV.

A few weeks back it was reported that both Jonah Hill and Emma Stone were offered parts in Ghostbusters III. Today more non-news surrounding this casting update has come to light, and we still don't care.

According to Schmoes Know and their tipster known as The Phantom, Emma Stone is passing on the role of “Anna,” but Jonah Hill still has an offer out for “Jeremy”. Interesting enough, Sony wants two big stars signed on, or they will not greenlight the picture."

Ivan Reitman will direct the movie if it happens. Men in Black 3 scribe Etan Cohen had been tapped to rewrite Ghostbusters III for the studio. You know all the rest.

Following up on yesterday's first casting news for Duncan Jones' big screen adaptation of the Blizzard Entertainment video game juggernaut World of Warcraft, another casting update has made its way online.

THR reports that Dominic Cooper (pictured) is in final negotiations to join the fantasy opposite the previously announced Ben Foster ("Six Feet Under,"Pandorum, Rampart), Travis Fimmel ("Vikings,"The Experiment), Paula Patton (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol), Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), and Rob Kazinsky ("True Blood,"Pacific Rim).

Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) has closed a deal with Legendary Pictures to bring a live action version of WoW to the big screen. Charles Leavitt (The Seventh Son) came on board last August to pen the script. Legendary, which picked up film rights to adapt the popular fantasy video game franchise back in 2006, said it's planning for a summer 2015 release.

"American Horror Story" co-creator Ryan Murphy had his usual post-mortem chat with EW following last night's episode of "Coven," and in addition to providing some teases of what ahead for the witches, he touched on casting for "AHS" Season 4.

What can we expect in the winter cliffhanger episode called “Head”?
We follow the travails of Kathy Bates’ head, and things happen to other characters’ literal heads or intellects or brain power. She’s such a villain; yet, Kathy’s so empathetic so it’s become this weird thing where I’m shocked that people are rooting for Madame LaLaurie. I think what happens in the winter cliffhanger “Head” is beyond hilarious... Fiona (Jessica Lange) certainly doesn’t want her head in the house. It’s just sort of like one of those bad Christmas sweaters that keeps getting passed from person to person. Ultimately you’ll see what happens with Gabourey Sidibe, but it’s my favorite thing of the year—well that and Stevie Nicks... It sounds funny, but ultimately where that winter cliffhanger gets to is incredibly moving and very dramatic, and it’s about something that I think is very profound. You’ll see.

Will we see more interactions between Fiona and Spalding (Denis O'Hare)?
Yes. You’ll see more of Spalding and more of Spalding with other characters as well. Now that he’s a ghost in that house, he can really watch over them. He has his favorites.

Any hope for a Fiona/Cordelia truce?
No! They’ll never be on good terms. That’s one of my favorite relationships on the show. I think just when you think Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) has forgiven Fiona, something comes up, Fiona tries something else. Cordelia in the last four episodes in January finds out something even darker about her mother that turns things upside down. This isn’t "Gilmore Girls." We don’t have a mother/daughter relationship that you love.

Speaking of bad moms, what's up with Joan (Patti LuPone) and Luke (Alexander Dreymon)?
In the next episode Joan is alive, and her son is in a coma. She finally has to deal with the fact that the ladies next door are witches whom she hates but who can help her, particularly Nan (Jamie Brewer), who is a clairvoyant. Also, we give the nation and the world Patti LuPone singing a spiritual, which is a great moment for her. I think “Head” is my favorite episode of the season. What Patti LuPone does. The return of Myrtle Snow. There’s some great stuff—Jessica stuff, Sarah stuff, Emma stuff. I’m really excited for people to see that winter cliffhanger because it’s pretty amazing. Angela stuff. Gabourey. It’s some of the best work of the season.

Will anyone who dies this season stay dead?
There are a lot of deaths in “Head”... It really sort of turns the season on its ear and sort of sets up the last four episodes in a very clear, interesting way... some of them die and don’t come back.

Anything else about Stevie Nicks' appearances?
Stevie will be in Episode 10 (airing January 8th), and then we have Stevie for another one, doing an idea that she came up with that I thought was too perfect to say no to. Hilariously, Stevie read some of the scripts and called up and said, “Are you aware that one of the things you’re doing I actually wrote a song about?” I’m like, “You’ve got to be kidding.” Then I remembered the song. We have something cool that was her idea.

Do you know who'll be back in Season 4 yet?
I’m already coming up with titles, and I invite people when we have a character for them. People should never read into that; just because some of your favorites haven’t been announced doesn’t mean anything. It’s a slow build, and I keep adding on. Angela is coming back hopefully. Kathy is coming back hopefully. Jessica, Sarah, Evan. Franny Conroy we want to come back. We have a great part for her. And new people too! I love an actor I did The Normal Heart with, Finn Wittrock.

Not to be confused with the Lydelle Jackson and Cezil Reed flick of the same name, word has just hit the wire that X-Men director Bryan Singer is producing a new low-budget thriller from Adam Robitel entitled The Taking. Read on for details.

The Robitel-directed thriller shot quietly in North Carolina this week. The film, also written by Robitel and Gavin Heffernan (The Steaks), centers on the supernatural happenings in a small Southern community. Further plot details are being kept under wraps.

Singer kept The Taking quiet. It’s Robitel’s feature directing debut, a character-driven project that Singer produced through his Bad Hat Harry shingle. Jeff Rice is also a producer, and executive producers are Jason Taylor and Jonathan Stein, Lati Grobman and Christa Campbell, Rene Besson, Luke Daniels, Alex Cutler, and Dana Guerin. Nu Image/Millennium Films is handling worldwide sales.

Killers stars Ray Sahetapy, the veteran Indonesian actor who played the crime boss Tama in The Raid.

Developed by The Mo Brothers from a story by Nightmare Detective producer Ushiyama Takuji, Killers is a dark psychological look into the minds of two men with nothing in common: Nomura, a self-obsessed serial killer residing in Tokyo, and Bayu, a failing journalist and a struggling father in Jakarta. Connected through violent incidents, both men inexplicably start to feed off each other. As their lives become more uncontrollable, each of them starts to journey into a maze of violent self-discovery.

We told you that the filmmakers behind the wildly successful film You're Next are back with a new project entitled The Guest a few weeks ago, and now we have the first stills just in time for the flick's premiere at Sundance 2014.
