Horror franchise producer Jason Blum recently sat down with Crave Online to offer updates on the long talked about The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes and even a possible Insidious television series.

When asked the status of the Amityville project, Blum shared this with fans... “[It's] still going, still going, still going, still going. We’re going to make that movie, and it’s very cool. But I don’t quite know yet when.”

The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes will showcase the events after the time of the original The Amityville Horror book and movie through found-footage dating back to 1976.

In other news, Blum revealed that he’d be open to an Insidious television series. “I’d like to do that. [But] I don’t think you can do that while we’re still making movies,” he explains. “Now Leigh [Whannell] is writing the third Insidious, so we have to see how far we can take the series of movies... but I believe very strongly that once that kind of comes to a close, you can do a series; and I think soon we’ll be in a place where you can have a series at the same time. Although right now people are too nervous to have that.”

According to Variety, a March 28, 2014, release date has been set for Gareth Edwards' sequel to The Raid: Redemption, entitled The Raid 2: Berandal. Celebrate now by venturing outside and karate kicking the first thug you see.

Synopsis
PT Merantau Films and XYZ Films teamed up for THE RAID 2 (Indonesian title, THE RAID 2: BERANDAL), the sequel to the wildly popular international hit THE RAID (aka THE RAID: REDEMPTION). The film reunites writer/director Gareth Huw Evans with actor Iko Uwais, who reprises his starring role. In addition to Uwais, the international cast includes Tio Pakusadewo, Putra Arifin Scheunamann, Julie Estelle, Alex Abbad, and Roy Marten.

Picking up right where the first film ends, The Raid 2 follows Rama (Uwais) as he goes undercover and infiltrates the ranks of a ruthless Jakarta crime syndicate in order to protect his family and uncover the corruption in his own police force.

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA) acquired the film for the United States, Spain, Latin America, and South Africa; and Sony Pictures Classics will once again release the film theatrically in the United States.

Besties is coming to VOD January 21 from Phase 4 Films, and right now we have nearly a dozen new stills for you guys to befriend. You know you want to. Everyone needs somebody, right? Especially a psychopath.

But it’s really all about the colossal creatures they have to contend with, the majority of which were inspired by classic movie monsters from the Fifties, Sixties, Seventies, and Eighties.

Finally, Thanatomorphose (review) is hitting DVD Stateside, and we have a look at the artwork for you right here. Surprise! It's not as horrid as the UK art, which we LOVED.

The film stars Kayden Rose, Davyd Tousignant, Émile Beaudry, Karine Picard, Roch-Denis Gagnon, Éryka L. Cantieri, Pat Lemaire, and Simon Laperrière.

A Cronenbergian smorgasbord of rancid flesh and sexual gratification, Thanatomorphose, by Canadian director Eric Falardeau, picks up where Nekromantic left off. Look for it on DVD on January 21st from Unearthed Films.

A strange and claustrophobic tale of sexuality, horror, and bodily fluids, Thanatomorphose not only will make you wince but is strangely uplifting in its take on mortality.

When Warner Bros. released its remake of Clash of the Titans a few years ago, the plan was to do a trilogy of films. Thus far we had a single sequel in Wrath of the Titans and no word on the proposed third film until now.

IGN recently caught up with Basil Iwanyk, who produced both Clash and Wrath. Here's what he shared regarding completion of the trilogy.

"In terms of Clash of the Titans 3, it's one of those situations where we've seen it a million times; a movie will kind of float away and then come back when it's supposed to come back. You'd think that there was three and a half, four years of nonstop Clash of the Titans activity, and I think it is, "Okay, what's the new idea? How do you make it fresh?" You know, a lot of movies have come out in that world, including Immortals and 300. So there will be a time and place where someone will come up with a great idea for it and how to make it feel different and fresh from the previous ones. Then we'll hopefully move forward on that."

While the first film from 2010 -- a remake of the 1981 Greek mythology opus -- was successful at the box office with a $493.2 million haul worldwide, its 2012 sequel, Wrath of the Titans, exhibited a slide in interest from audiences, making $305.2 million.

We haven't heard much about John Soto's new film The Reckoning lately, but here to kick off your holiday week we have the new teaser trailer and some additional artwork to share.

The UK's BBC Two has a new TV movie airing on Monday, 30 December, titled The Thirteenth Tale; and we have a look at two clips from it right here. Hopefully it'll be heading Stateside via BBC America shortly!

Castiel (Misha Collins) arrives at the bunker and suggests they try to separate Sam's brain from the angel's so they can talk to Sam and have him expel Gadreel. However, there's one small problem: The only person who knows how to do that is Crowley (Mark Sheppard).

Robert Singer directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb.

The inductees for the 29th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame include Kiss, Nirvana, Peter Gabriel, Hall and Oates, Linda Ronstadt and Cat Stevens. The induction will take place April 10th and will air on HBO in May.

Swedish post-metal band Cult of Luna are going on a hiatus of sorts. Read the band’s statement here.

Bane have entered the studio to record their fourth - and final - album, Don't Wait Up. It will be released next year via Equal Vision Records.

Earth Crisis will release Salvation of Innocents on March 4 via Candlelight Records.

NECA Toys has unveiled your first look at some of its new figures for 2014, and though you cannot dig your claws into these goodies yet, just seeing them puts the ho-ho-ho in horror! Check 'em out and feel your wallets start burning.

NECA has revealed packaged shots of the second series of its Aliens line. According to Figures.com these bad boys are due out this February, and the assortment includes Colonial Marine Sgt. Craig Windrix along with the star of the 1979 film Alien, the Alien itself, aka Xenomorph. The third figure (not pictured) is a new Alien Warrior featuring blue highlights.

Also coming is Retro Ash from Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. The doll has real cloth that’s similar to the retro-styled Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees versions announced this past fall.
