Walmart Fears Mike Mendez's Ass - Censors Big Ass Spider! Artwork; New Clip!

Walmart Fears Mike Mendez's Ass - Censors Big Ass Spider! Artwork; New Clip! You never know what you're gonna find in Walmart. Among all the chicks with Wolverine-like sideburns and Nascar jackets, our own Foywonder came across the Blu-ray for Mike Mendez's latest flick, Big Ass Spider! (review), and noticed a pretty interesting (and senseless) change to it.

Apparently the retail chain (a.k.a. the 7th circle of hell) has taken issue with the word "Ass" in the film's title and changed the cover art via a family-friendly(!) graffiti font to read BigGEST Spider!. However, they did add the film's correct moniker under their bastardized title hackjob anyway.

This leads us to only one possible conclusion - Walmart fears the usage of Mike Mendez's ass. What we wouldn't do to see that written on an employee picket sign the next time the chain treats its workers like crap and they decide to strike! SAY IT LOUD!

If that isn't enough, we have a new clip for you too featuring Troma's Lloyd Kaufman tangoing with the multi-legged tyrant!

Big Ass Spider! WalMart

Battling the beast are Greg Grunberg ("Heroes", "Alias") and Lombardo Boyar ("The Bernie Mac Show"), who star as Alex, an exterminator, and Jose, his security guard sidekick, respectively. The unlikely heroes team up with an elite military unit that includes genre vets Clare Kramer (The Gravedancers) and Ray Wise (X-Men: First Class, "Twin Peaks").

Check out the official Big Ass Spider! website here! Visit it now, or we will personally come to wherever you are just to shoe you swiftly in your genitalia.

Synopsis
Surviving extermination by nuclear eradication, a horrible alien mutation in arachnid form is now growing at an exponential rate and making its way toward downtown Los Angeles. Hot on its spindly heels is a crack military unit with absolute authority, led by an obsessively driven commander and his beautiful but lethal sidekick. Unfortunately for them, this mutant spider has an array of deadly defenses including the ability to virtually disappear through camouflage. But the creature’s real adversary quickly turns out to be a hot-shot local exterminator armed only with cocky attitude, some fast one-liners and his homemade gadgets. Joining forces with the military team, this blue-collar hero sets out to exterminate what has now become a monstrous 10-story tall MEGA SPIDER.

  • Full Moon in a State of Delirium This February

Full Moon in a State of Delirium This FebruaryCharles Band and Full Moon Entertainment have infected just about every possible medium that they could have with their unique brand of lunacy, but they're getting ready to head out into a new frontier with the magazine Delirium.

    From the Press Release
A brand new, bi-monthly, FULL COLOR, cult, horror, sci-fi and fantasy PRINT magazine that scours true tales from the legendary Full Moon archives… and beyond.

For over four delirious decades, filmmaker Charles Band has steadily pumped out a dizzying wealth of some of cinema’s weirdest and wildest horror, fantasy and exploitation genre movies with his iconic labels “Empire Pictures” and “Full Moon Features.” Along the way he has nurtured and enabled such talents as Stuart Gordon, Barbara Crampton, David Schmoeller, Demi Moore, Michael Pataki, Helen Hunt, Viggo Mortensen, Christopher Lee, Tim Thomerson, John Carl Buechler, Don Mancini, Timothy Van Patton, Jeffrey Combs, Michael Moriarty, Andrew Prine, Klaus Kinski, Sherilyn Fenn and hundreds upon hundreds of others in films as beloved as TOURIST TRAP, RE-ANIMATOR, GHOULIES, DOLLS, FROM BEYOND, PARASITE, PUPPETMASTER, SUBSPECIES, HEAD OF THE FAMILY and THE GINGERDEAD MAN. Many of these pictures are considered bona fide classics, and some even cited as landmark dark fantasy entertainments, but all are fascinating works of bizarre pop art, each one a story with dozens of sub-stories to be told.

But to tell them all would require space to do so.

Band’s universe, and the storied alumni that reside within, is so dense with history, you could make a magazine and never run out of material.

So… that’s exactly what we did.

Announcing “Full Moon presents DELIRIUM,” a breathless, bold, bloody, beautiful, brainy and ballistic bi-monthly 21-gun-pulp-fiction-salute print periodical dedicated to exploring and celebrating the uninhibited joy of making outrageous movies while high-fiving the fevered audiences who just can’t seem to get enough of that far-out stuff…

Published by Band, produced by the Full Moon Features team and edited by filmmaker, film journalist and Fangoria Magazine EIC Chris Alexander, DELIRIUM is a passionate work of lurid wonder, jam-packed with exclusive interviews, bizarre stories, garish photos from Band’s expansive and foreboding vaults (many of which have never, ever, EVER been seen before), posters, retrospectives, special FX make-up secrets, laughs, shocks, thrills and chills. DELIRIUM aims to chart indie horror and fantasy’s secret history using the Empire/Full Moon/Band legacy as the foundation but then careening madly into unexpected directions.

“I couldn’t be more excited about DELIRIUM,” says Full Moon founder and President Charles Band.

“2014 is going to be an exciting year for us here at Full Moon and the birth of DELIRIUM magazine is a big part of that. The wealth of material we have at our fingertips, the hundreds of films we’ve produced, the rare stills, rarer interviews and support of our celebrated creative alumni will serve as the backbone for what we hope will become a thrilling new addition to the cult film magazine universe.”

The limited edition ISSUE #1 features a cover story on Band’s immortal, 1985 Stuart Gordon directed masterpiece RE-ANIMATOR, featuring massive new interviews with Gordon, Barbara Crampton, composer Richard Band, actress Carolyn Purdy-Gordon and many others and is jammed with gory, gorgeous photos, including a crazy cool centerfold poster! Elsewhere in DELIRIUM #1 you’ll find an exclusive chat with actress Celeste Yarnall on her signature role in 1971’s THE VELVET VAMPIRE, an ongoing column called “Bring Me the Head of Stuart Gordon,” an in-depth examination of the 1979 shocker TOURIST TRAP plus a peek at the brand new indie horror films from the rebirthed WIZARD Studios line and so much more!

DELIRIUM will be published 6 times a year and WILL NOT BE SOLD ON NEWSSTANDS.

The only way you can get your clammy mitts on this exciting new magazine is to SUBSCRIBE today at Delirium online. Individual issues will be available to order online as well. Or come pick up a copy in person at the Full Moon booth at one of the near 200 fan conventions we’ll be appearing at nationwide!

Preview of American Horror Story: Coven Episode 3.11 - Protect the Coven; What's Ahead in the Final Three EpisodesWell, last night's "American Horror Story: Coven" episode was certainly a treat! What's in store in Episode 3.11, "Protect the Coven," and beyond? Here are a preview and a few hints.

Exec producer Ryan Murphy has his usual post-show chat with EW, and here are the highlights. Be sure to hit the link at the bottom of the page for the rest, including more about Stevie Nicks' appearance in last night's episode.

First off, Stevie is supposed to be back for one more episode; which one?
RM: She’s the complete cold opening of the last episode... It’s a Stevie Nicks music video extravagaaaaanza!

Misty met Stevie and then was buried alive by Madison. Is that the last we’ve seen of her?
RM: Well, there’s two things going on with Misty Day. How does one get out of a tomb? Can she get out of it, or is she buried alive? We’ll revisit her torment as the clock is ticking.

Speaking of people dying, is Joan really dead?
RM: Yes, that is the end of Patti LuPone’s character this season.

And Nan? Is she definitely dead?
RM: Nan is sadly gone for good. I can confirm that Nan is no more.

    Will Papa Legba be back?
RM: Oh yeah. Papa is back.

Will the truce between Marie and Fiona hold?
RM: Well, we have been building towards a truce, and I think the viewers want there to be. If you’re watching the show, you’re very invested in these two powerful women joining forces because then they would be unstoppable. But Fiona is not to be trusted, and neither is Marie. Is it real? Do they have an agenda, and what is that agenda? We explore that in the next couple of episodes.

We missed LaLaurie this week; when will she be back?
RM: Next week is Kathy’s heaviest episode that we’ve ever done with her on the show. It’s a great episode for her. It’s really upsetting because a lot of it is about the origin story for Madame LaLaurie. We read a lot about her, and the question I always had is: 'How does this woman who’s a cultured socialite and someone educated become such a brutal serial killer monster? Where does that come from? What was the first moment where she did what she did?' We see that; we explore that. It’s a great Kathy Bates gets her revenge moment.

We didn’t see Queenie either. Is there a chance we’ll see her again?
RM: Yes, Queenie is in the next episode. We find out what happens to her.

Will things get better for poor Cordelia?

Mick Taylor Readies for the Hunt in Latest Wolf Creek 2 PosterThis year Mick Taylor returns with a few days to kill, and as huge fans of the first Wolf Creek, we can't wait to see the next batch of twisted shit he's got up the sleeves of his flannel shirt. In the meantime check out the brand new poster art for the sequel here!

Directed by Greg Mclean, written by Mclean and Aaron Sterns, and produced by Helen Leake (Swerve, Black and White, Heavens Burning), Greg Mclean, and Steve Topic (Crawlspace), the sequel has started production seven years after the original Wolf Creek hit screens internationally in November of 2005.

The original not only gave Australian audiences an appetite for their own horror movies but showed the world a fresh, daring take on the genre. Selected to screen at Sundance and the Cannes Film Festival, it was supported by The Weinstein Company, who presented it to an international audience. It then went on to claim the title of the number one Australian film in 2005 and also became the highest grossing Australian R18+ film of all time.

Wolf Creek 2 will be distributed in Australia by Roadshow Films. International sales are being handled by Arclight Films. The sequel will hit Australian theatres on February 20, 2014.

    Synopsis
Lured by the promise of an Australian holiday, backpackers Rutger, Katarina, and Paul visit the notorious Wolf Creek Crater. Their dream Outback adventure soon becomes an horrific reality when they encounter the site’s most infamous local, the last man any traveler to the region ever wants to meet: Mick Taylor (John Jarratt).

As the backpackers flee, Mick pursues them on an epic white-knuckled rampage across hostile wasteland. Only one will remain to be dragged back to his lair to witness the true magnitude of his monstrosity. And if the last man standing is to have any hope of surviving where no one else has survived before, he’ll have to use every ounce of cunning to outwit the man behind the monster and become every bit as ruthless as the monster inside the man.

Luke Evans Follows The Crow CloselyThe remake of The Crow is perched and nearly ready to go, and as a means to quell some fan hesitation, Red Carpet News caught up with the new Eric Draven himself, Luke Evans, to find out what fans can expect!

“Well, we just want to be as authentic and loyal to the original comic as possible, and that means the story will be different,” says Evans.

“It’ll be different from what people are expecting. It’s not about us ripping off the Brandon Lee movie; that stands alone as a brilliant piece of cult film and a great performance, but we’re going back to the book, the original book. And that’s exciting because we’re bringing to the screen a lot of parts of the story that were never really told. So yeah, it’s our chance to do it, to do it differently, but to be as loyal and respectful of the original storyline as we possibly can.”

In terms of the look of the character and makeup usage:

“It’ll be interesting, won’t it, to do that? I don’t know how it will feel; I’ve yet to think about that too much. I’m just prepping; it’s all very physical at the moment.”

    Watch the whole interview below.

The film is being produced by Ed Pressman, Kevin Misher, Relativity’s CEO Ryan Kavanaugh, and Jeff Most. Exec producers include Relativity’s president Tucker Tooley, The Weinstein Co.’s Harvey and Bob Weinstein, and Farah Films’ Dan Farah. F. Javier Gutiérrez is at the helm.

    Look for more soon.

Mark Romanek Will Come Face to Face with The Boston StranglerThe Boston Strangler has been the subject of a handful of films over the years, so named because of the way he strangled 13 female victims in the early-mid 1960s. ...but that's neither here nor there. What we're here to talk about is the latest film based on the string of stranglings, which has its sights set on a director.

As reported by Variety, Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo) is currently in talks to bring Warner Bros.'Boston Strangler, which is set to star Casey Affleck (pictured), to the big screen. Affleck will also executive produce the crime drama, with Kevin McCormick producing through his Langley Park banner.

The Chuck MacLean-penned film will follow a detective trying to uncover the identity of the Boston Strangler. Sources have compared the script to films like Seven and Zodiac.
