Four young pals set out to have a great time in Las Vegas, but soon all bets are off in the one-of-a-kind sci-fi thriller comedy UNIDENTIFIED. It arrives on Digital Download and DVD from MPI/Dark Sky Films on February 11, 2014.

UNIDENTIFIED, the feature directorial debut of Jason R. Miller (co-producer and second-unit director of the hit horror films Hatchet II and Frozen), cleverly mixes sci-fi, suspense and laughs to create a truly unique take on an otherworldly encounter.

During a wild weekend in Las Vegas, four young friends get into trouble with a loan shark and must skip town in a hurry. But gambling debts may be the least of their worries after they get stranded in the vast Nevada desert. One of the guys discovers a mysterious metal fragment and then promptly goes missing during the night. When the remaining three catch up with their lost friend, they notice something oddly different about him. As his condition worsens, the others realize that some unearthly being may be stalking them in the wilderness.

At The CW's TCA presentation, network president Mark Pedowitz touched upon just how much gas is in the Winchesters' tank now that the show is enjoying its ninth season. He also shed a bit of light on the "Sueprnatural" spin-off series announced last summer. Read on for details.

Said Pedowitz to the Television Critics Association gather for their 2014 Winter Tour, "As a fan of the show, who’s seen every episode, as long as I’m here and those numbers hold, God bless them. They can go as long as they want."

In terms of the spin-off which will be set up in a backdoor pilot this season, Pedowitz was asked if that was still in play, and he replied, "Yes, very much so. It's set in Chicago. Hunters, monsters... The script just came in."

As for whether any of the main "Supernatural" characters would appear in the spin-off, which will be centered around new characters, Pedowitz said, "In the spin-off episode, they'd be in it. Whether they're in the series... For me, for spin-offs to work, you have to stand them on their own two legs, so you can only do those crossovers when the time is right, like we did with 'The Originals.' We didn't see Michael Trevino's character, Tyler, until the seventh or eighth episode. By that time, the show was standing up on its own two legs."

The end of another stellar season of "American Horror Story" is in sight, but before we get there, the next "Coven" episode is promising to take us to hell and back. Of course that could be figuratively, but you just never know with this show.

A while back we told you that the role of Jessica's new vampy love interest on "True Blood," originally played by Luke Grimes, was being recast, and today we have the name of the actor who's filling the vacant spot. If we didn't know it was a different guy, without looking at them together we wouldn't even have noticed.

TVLine reports that "Bunheads" barkeep Nathan Parsons (pictured) will step into the series regular role previously played by Grimes when the HBO hit returns with its seventh and final season this summer.

Grimes asked to be released from his "True Blood" contract due to the creative direction of his brooding, soulful vampire character.

"True Blood" returns for its farewell season in June 2014.

Synopsis

Vampire films have become tired and boring over the years, we must admit. But vampire films written and directed by Jim Jarmusch? Well, that's an entirely different story!

Jamusch's first horror film, Only Lovers Left Alive, premieres this coming May at the Cannes Film Festival, and we invite you to sink those pearly whites of yours into the brand new trailer for the flick!

Only Lovers Left Alive stars Tilda Swinton as Eve, a grungy but erudite vampire who's married to a forlorn vampire musician, Adam, played by Tom Hiddleston. Several-hundred-year-old Adam (of Biblical fame) has been living quite happily ever since being expelled from the Garden of Eden--that is, until the 21st century came along with its excesses and greed and pushed him into a full-flung existential crisis. He cracks and orders a wooden bullet to kill himself.

Adam and Eve are not about blood-sucking and murder but are refined lovers of literature, science, music, and learning in general. When Eve's estranged sister (Mia Wasikowska) "drinks" Ian, a friend, to death, Eve tells her off, saying that in the 21st century people won't understand such barbarity. It's not like they can just dump the bodies in the Thames with the tuberculosis sufferers like in old times, she says. Now, in the 21st century, they get their blood from the transfusion section of a hospital. Alongside this, John Hurt plays a vampire Christopher Marlowe, who's still bitter that Shakespeare became more famous.

In the film vampires elegantly cover their mouths and have a strange ritual with gloves that goes unexplained, but at heart it's the story of Adam and Eve, who try to rekindle their love despite living in different places, he in Detroit and she in Tangiers. It is as touching as it is odd. The love story between immortal beings also raised philosophical questions for leading man Hiddleston, who said playing Adam was a "fascinating prospect"— a chance to break away from his more conventional superhero roles like Loki in Marvel Studios'Thor films. "The idea of exploring love in the context of immortality — is (it) a blessing because it recurs, and what does that do to your commitments?" he said.

It took Jarmusch seven years to find a backer, and he explains why: "I wanted to make a vampire love story... The reason it took so long was that no one wanted to give us the money. It's getting more and more and more difficult for films that are maybe a little unusual or not predictable or not satisfying the expectations of everybody — which is the beauty of cinema, discovering new films of all forms."

No stranger to devious and terrifying goings-on, Silent Hill star Radha Mitchell is about to come face to face with the Devil. Read on for details about her Sacrifice!

Screen Daily reports that Mitchell will star in the adaptation of S.J. Bolton's novel of the same name, alongside Rupert Graves and Colm Meaney. Mitchell will play a consultant surgeon trying in vain to have a child with her husband, played by Graves.

Her discovery of a mutilated woman’s body leads to shocking revelations as her husband, boss and local police try to persuade her to drop the matter.

Peter Dowling (Flight Plan) wrote the screenplay and will direct, and production is scheduled to begin in Dublin in late March.

Arnold Rifkind’s Cheyenne Enterprises will produce with Ireland-based Subotica.

Though we've still got no Cabin Fever: Patient Zero release date here in the states, we recently learned that the infection will spread to the UK on March 17. A Canada release won't be far behind, and you'll find all the info by reading on!

Raven Banner Entertainment has picked up Canadian rights to Cabin Fever: Patient Zero, part of the popular horror franchise originally created by Eli Roth. Directed by Kaare Andrews (Altitude and The ABCs of Death) penned by Jake Wade Wall (The Hitcher), and stars Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings Trilogy), Currie Graham, Ryan Donowho, Brando Eaton and Jillian Murray.

The deal was negotiated by Michael Paszt, James Fler, and Annick Mahnert from Raven Banner Entertainment, and Kevin Hoiseth from Voltage Pictures on behalf of the producers.

When a cruise ship in the Caribbean collides with an abandoned research vessel, a deadly virus is unleashed. Passengers must find a way to survive before the flesh eating disease consumes them all.

Raven Banner is set to release Cabin Fever: Patient Zero in early 2014 in 28 theatres across Canada as part of its Sinister Cinema series with partnersCineplex Entertainment.

Guys. Guys! It’s finally happened! Scream Factory just announced on their Facebook page that Ravenous, the cult Guy Pearce-starring cannibal thriller set during the Mexican-American War and one of my favorite films of all time, is hitting Blu-ray in June!

According to the Facebook post, it will include a slew of all-new extra materials. Beyond that, the only information available right now is the art for the Blu-ray, which will use the original – and inferior – poster key art.

Sadly, director Antonia Bird passed away last October. For those who didn’t know, she was actually the second director on the film, replacing director Milcho Manchevski at the behest of star Robert Carlyle. The film received mixed reviews upon its release, but has since gone on to become a cult favorite among those who like their horror gritty and philosophical.
