Embrace Your Demons with a New Promo and Go Behind the Scenes of A&E's Those Who KillIt's demon against demon in this new promo for A&E's upcoming "Those Who Kill." Plus we have co-stars Chloe Sevigny, James D'Arcy, James Morrison, and Bruce Davison discussing their characters.

"Those Who Kill" premieres March 3rd at 10/9c following the Season 2 premiere of "Bates Motel."

"Those Who Kill" Synopsis:
Based on the Danish crime series format inspired by the bestselling work of author Elsebeth Egholm, the ten-episode serialized drama is set in Pittsburgh.

As a freshly minted homicide detective, Catherine Jensen (Sevigny) has garnered a reputation for overstepping her boundaries in her unrelenting pursuit to solve Pittsburgh’s most gruesome murders. Motivated by her past, including the disappearance of her brother and the suspicion that her stepfather is a serial killer, she often finds herself emotionally connected to the victims she’s investigating.

Jensen enlists the help of Thomas Schaeffer (D’Arcy), a forensic psychologist who has a tumultuous relationship with the police department, to provide insight into her cases and her personal investigation into her stepfather. He, too, finds himself deeply connected to each case, but often through the killer, which proves to be a hazardous undertaking.

The pair shares a skewed sense of judgment that often puts them, and sometimes even their families, at risk. As these two captivating yet flawed characters come together, their bond often rescues them from their individual demons but may be the source of more harmful tribulations.

“Those Who Kill” is produced by Imagine Television (“24,” “Friday Night Lights”) and Fox 21 (“Homeland,” “Sons of Anarchy”). Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo are executive producers for Imagine Television. Glen Morgan (“The X-Files,” “Millennium”) wrote the pilot episode (directed by Joe Carnahan; The Grey) and also serves as executive producer/showrunner. David Petrarca serves as executive producer and directs several episodes. Peter Bose and Jonas Allen are executive producers for Miso Films.

Musical Version of King Kong May Be Opening on Broadway This December!

Musical Version of King Kong May Be Opening on Broadway This December! Now that Spider-Man: The Musical has official shut down and shit the bed, the Big Apple has a monster-sized hole in it just waiting to be filled. Enter King Kong. Holy cow, that sounded inadvertently dirty.

The sky-high $75 million cost of Spider-Man was incurred in large part by a long, haphazard development process for a show that opened cold on Broadway, with all those expenses folded into the New York production’s budget.

By contrast, King Kong has already been developed in a Melbourne, Australia, production (said to have come in at around $30 million), so the capitalization of the American staging, while still poised to be high by Broadway standards, won’t be weighed down with those expenses. And since the heavy lifting required to mount Kong has already been accomplished once, there’s zero likelihood that previews will stretch over months as they did with Spider-Man.

Incidentally, "mounting Kong" sounded even more inadvertently dirty.

Global Creatures (the production company behind King Kong) chairman Gerry Ryan, in an interview on Melbourne radio station 3AW late last week, stated King Kong will be opening at the former home of Spider-Man: The Musical, Foxwoods Theatre on Broadway, this December. Officially, however, neither the dates nor the venue has been officially confirmed.

Look for more soon!

Penned by critically acclaimed television and comic book writer J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5, The Amazing Spider-Man, Superman: Earth One), the script is a perfect blend of humor and horror, drama and lighthearted action-packed adventure.

Rising India-based artist Sid (Siddharth) Kotian will be providing the artwork that brings Straczynski’s stories to life with color by Bill Farmer and lettering by Troy Peteri. Issue #2 follows on March 5th.

Being a fourth generation super-sleuth, she’s followed in her father’s footsteps (and his father’s footsteps and his father’s footsteps…), bravely taking on the most heinous creatures the dark side has to offer.

Her latest assignment promises to be her biggest one yet. When a mysterious figure gets his hands on the Book of Keys, whose secrets can cause the destruction of the world, Al is the only one who can stop him. Her journey takes her through a world populated by zombie cops, machine gun-toting imps, techno wizards, closet trolls, demonic theme parks, other dimensions, Ultimate Darkness, and, perhaps worst of all, an undead ex-boyfriend.

The Adventures of Apocalypse Al marks J. Michael Straczynski’s return to his own imprint, Joe’s Comics, which has been dormant for seven years. The Joe’s Comics mission is to create stories free of Event Fatigue, corporate interference, and editorial agendas, with an emphasis on innovation, experimentation, and fun. It’s all about capturing the imagination and attention of the readers and telling good, quality stories.

Clive Barker Jacqueline EssAs Clive Barker himself works on scripting a remake to Hellraiser, another one of his stories is about to find its way in front of the cameras. Want details? Read on!

Screen Daily reports that Raven Banner Enterainment has optioned Barker's short story "Jacqueline Ess: Her Will and Testament," which originally appeared in his anthology novel The Books of Blood. Many stories from the anthology have been turned into feature films in the past, including Rawhead Rex and Midnight Meat Train.

"Jacqueline Ess" tells the story of a beautiful woman with the ability to horrifically change people’s body shapes simply with her mind. Her ability gives her the power to grant men the ultimate sexual experience, albeit one that always proves fatal. It’s a story of sex, power, and the extremes that await us at the limits of desire.

Raven Banner will produce with Barker’s Seraphim Films on board to executive produce. The deal was negotiated by Raven Banner partners Michael Paszt, James Fler, and Andrew Hunt, with Noor Ahmed of Reder & Feig LLP negotiating on behalf of Seraphim.

The film is currently being scripted and is slated to go into production in the fall of 2014.

Supernatural Thriller Don't Knock Twice Haunts Content FilmAnother horrifying urban legend comes to life in Don't Knock Twice, which has just been picked up by Content Film and will be haunting the hallowed halls of the upcoming European Film Market. Read on for all the paranormal details!

From the Press Release
Content announced today that it will be reuniting with Caradog James and John Giwa-Amu of Red & Black Films on their latest title, DON'T KNOCK TWICE, with worldwide pre-sales to begin at the European Film Market in Berlin.

Caradog James (THE MACHINE, LITTLE WHITE LIES) will direct from a script by Mark Huckerby and Nick Ostler. DON'T KNOCK TWICE will be produced by John Giwa-Amu and Seymour Films' Claire Moorsom. Content’s Jamie Carmichael will serve as executive producer.

Content first partnered with Red & Black Films on Caradog James’ sci-fi action thriller THE MACHINE (review here), which had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film festival last year.

Content's Jamie Carmichael said: "We’re really happy to be working with Crad and John again and [are] delighted that Claire is on board. DON'T KNOCK TWICE has all the high concept scares we love.”

No Foolin' - King Kong vs. Godzilla and King Kong Escapes Will Be on Blu-ray April 1st

0

No Foolin' - King Kong vs. Godzilla and King Kong Escapes Will be on Blu-ray April 1stThe headline says it all. Expect more and more classic Godzilla titles to find their way to Blu-ray in the coming months as the May release of the big budget American reboot approaches.

Even King Kong is getting some hi-def lovin’ thanks to the King of the Monsters' resurgence.

King Kong vs. Godzilla may not ever get critical respect, but it has more than earned its status as one of the all-time great b-movies. The forerunner to the Alien vs. Predator, Freddy vs. Jason, Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys, and Batman vs. Superman of today, the King of the Monsters and the 8th Wonder of the World squared off for the one and only time in this 1963 Toho monsterpiece.

Synopsis:
When an underhanded pharmaceutical company goes to a remote tropical island to steal King Kong for advertising purposes, they get more than they bargained for when the gigantic ape attacks an unsuspecting village and an enormous octopus. Meanwhile, far below the sea, a submarine crew unleashes reptilian terror when they melt a block of ice and release the ferocious Godzilla from his icy lair. When both destructive monsters descend on Tokyo, it's a fight that holds the future of mankind in the balance in this knock-out film that was the first theatrical release to bring its larger-than-life contenders to the big screen in glorious color.

Toho's less-than-kingly take on King Kong would return again to the big screen to do battle with dinosaurs, a robot version of himself, and a diabolical supervillain named Dr. Who in 1968’s King Kong Escapes. The movie, co-produced by Rankin/Bass, aka the folks behind countless classic stop-motion Christmas specials like “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” was designed to be a big screen version of a popular “King Kong” Saturday morning cartoon of the era.

Synopsis:
King Kong, having fallen in love with the beautiful Lt. Susan Watson (Linda Miller), is kidnapped from his Mondo Island home by the evil Dr. Hu (Eisei Amamoto) to dig for precious gems in a mine when the robot MechaKong is unable to complete the task. Soon, though, the machine and the real Kong engage in a tremendous battle that threatens to level Japan.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment is wasting no time getting these two onto high definition before Godzilla comes stomping back on the big screen this summer. Both films will be released on Blu-ray April 1st in 1080p with a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono track. Alas, both will come barebones with no special features. That probably explains why they’re both currently available on Amazon for the bargain price of $13.99 each.

Well then. Hot on the heels of Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster, Godzilla on Monster Island, and Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster, that now marks four vintage Godzilla movies announced for Blu-ray in less than a week. What will next week bring hi-def word of? I’m hoping for Godzilla vs. the Cosmic Monster and Terror of Mechagodzilla, myself.

The forthcoming $15 million reboot starring Nicolas Cage, Ashley Tisdale, Chad Michael Murray, Nicky Whelan, Lea Thompson, and Jordin Sparks, according to producer Paul LaLonde, aims to be more mainstream in its sensibilities by weaving End Times “Rapture porn” with traditional disaster movie tropes.

Synopsis:
An airborne 747 is heading to London when, without any warning, passengers mysteriously disappear from their seats. Terror and chaos spread not only through the plane but also worldwide as unusual events continue to unfold. For those who have been left behind, the apocalypse has just begun.

It's been a long time since there’s been anything to report about the reboot of the popular Christian franchise – until today, when the first new Left Behind clip surfaced via Coming Soon. If this is a sign of things to come, then we’re in for some classic Caginess. LaLonde specifies that the music is temporary and the image has not been color corrected. He fails to explain why he felt this was a good clip to sell the general public on.
