Atlas Independent, the affiliate company of Charles Roven’s Atlas Entertainment, announced today that they will produce SANCTUARY VS. SANCTUARY, which will be directed by Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego (APOLLO 18, OPEN GRAVE) from a script written by Ryne Douglas Pearson (KNOWING).

William Green and Aaron Ginsburg will produce for Atlas Independent. Atlas Entertainment’s Richard Suckle, Unbroken Pictures’ Bryan Bertino (THE STRANGERS) and Adrienne Biddle will executive produce. Highland Film Group (HFG) will handle worldwide sales and will introduce the film to international buyers at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin.

SANCTUARY VS. SANCTUARY follows three documentarians who travel to South America to investigate a town which mysteriously disappeared from the map. The trio are led to the ultimate enigma after a series of misfortunate occurrences: an immense concrete structure located in the middle of the missing town, with no entrances or exits.

“We intend to make a commercial horror film with one of the leading directors of the genre at the helm," said Atlas Independent’s William Green and Aaron Ginsburg. This will be the third collaboration between Atlas Independent and Gonzalo following OPEN GRAVE and THE MAN ON CARRION ROAD, which will begin production in April.

XYZ Films announces that it has picked up worldwide sales rights to writer/director Christopher Denham’s latest horror/thriller, PRESERVATION, starring Wrenn Schmidt ("Boardwalk Empire"), Aaron Staton ("Mad Men"), and Pablo Schreiber (HBO's upcoming "The Brink,""Orange Is the New Black").

Jennifer Dubin and Cora Olson of Present Pictures are producing, with executive producing duties handled by Connie Cummings and Anne Renton of Certainty Films. PRESERVATION will be introduced to buyers by XYZ Films at the European Film Market in February.

In the film, Wit (Schmidt), a brainy anesthesiologist, heads out on a hunting trip in a forest preserve with her husband, Mike (Staton), a hedge fund manager, and his brother, Sean (Schreiber), a former Marine. But when the brothers are stalked and captured, Wit must unleash her own animal instincts or else end up a trophy.

"Chris has crafted a stylish and incredibly suspenseful piece of storytelling that takes the genre conventions and turns them inside out. With memorable performances that stand out as some of the best we've seen in a long time, we're proud to collaborate with such a clever filmmaker," said XYZ Films.

“Chris is a filmmaker we are extremely excited about. We’ve been fans of his script for a long time and are over the moon to have had the opportunity to produce this movie with Certainty Films. We’re thrilled to partner with XYZ at this stage to bring this movie and Chris’ unique voice to the market. We think it’s going to turn some heads,” said Dubin.

Denham recently wrote and directed the critically-acclaimed HOME MOVIE (released by IFC Films), for which he won the Citizen Kane award for “Best New Director” at the Sitges International Film Festival and the Silver Audience Award at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival. Additionally, he appeared in Ben Affleck's Academy Award-winning ARGO, for which he received a SAG Award for Best Ensemble Performance.

The film’s cinematographer, Nicola B. Marsh, also shot this year's Oscar nominated documentary 20 FEET FROM STARDOM.

XYZ Films executive produced and handled international sales on the hit action film THE RAID: REDEMPTION, which was released by Sony Pictures Classics. They are also handling international sales on the recent Sundance competition film LIFE AFTER BETH, starring Aubrey Plaza, Dane DeHaan, Anna Kendrick, John C. Reilly, Molly Shannon, Matthew Gray Gubler, Cheryl Hines, and Paul Reiser. At the EFM they will also be selling Kevin Smith’s horror film TUSK and the Maori actioner THE DEAD LANDS from director Toa Fraser.

XYZ Films produced and is handling world sales on THE RAID 2 from writer/director Gareth Huw Evans as well as KILLERS, which is co-directed by Timo Tjahjanto and Kimo Stamboel (The Mo Brothers). Both films were world premieres at Sundance.

Back in November we learned that The CW was developing "iZombie," based on the Vertigo comic characters created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred, and now they've given it an official pilot green light. But that's not all...

In addition to fast-tracking "iZombie" (more on that below), the network has given the tentative title of "Supernatural: Tribes" to the backdoor "Supernatural" spinoff episode set in Chicago, written by Andrew Dabb and directed by Robert Singer. Look for it later this season.

Now, as for "iZombie," it's being written by "Veronica Mars" creator Rob Thomas and his frequent collaborator Diane Ruggiero. Thomas and Rugierro, who co-wrote the upcoming Veronica Mars movie, are executive producing with Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge.

The potential series from Warner Bros. TV and Rob Thomas Productions, is a supernatural crime procedural that centers on a med student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity, but with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories. With the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head.

Nobody does supernatural horrors better than Blumhouse Productions, who have brought us flicks like Paranormal Activity and Sinister. They're set to return to ghostly territory with Home, which has just secured itself a star. Read on!

THR reports that Topher Grace will star in the supernatural thriller, which Blumhouse will produce and Universal will distribute. Patricia Clarkson is also in negotiations to co-star in the film, to be directed by Dennis Iliadis (Last House on the Left remake).

Adam Alleca penned the script, which centers on a man (Grace), recently released from a mental institution, who inherits a mansion after his parents die. After a series of disturbing events, he comes to believe it is haunted.

Jason Blum is producing with Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Killoran and Graham King.

If there's one thing we've come to expect from Christoper Gans (Brotherhood of the Wolf, Silent Hill), it's visually rich films that are a real treat to look at. Up next for the French filmmaker is a stylish new take on the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast, titled La Belle et La Bete.

Starring Vincent Cassel (Black Swan, Irreversible) as The Beast and Léa Seydoux (Inglourious Basterds, Robin Hood, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol) as Beauty, this film promises to be a unique retelling that also keeps its roots in the classic tale.

According to Gans, this will be a darker look at the classic story. "Although I will keep to a form of storytelling of this timeless fairy tale that is in keeping with the same pace and characters as the original, I will surprise the audience by creating a completely new visual universe never experienced before and produce images of an unparalleled quality," Gans said. "Every single one of my movies has presented me with a challenge, but this one is, by far, the most exciting and rewarding."

One thing's for sure about CBS's upcoming new series "Extant": its cast is one of the best looking on TV! Joining star Halle Berry are the recently announced Goran Visnjic, playing Berry's husband, and Michael O'Neill. Read on for the details.

Back in 2011, LEGO launched a pretty awesome project called LEGO CUUSOO, which gives fans the opportunity to design their very own LEGO sets. How it works is that once any given mock-up receives a certain number of votes, LEGO will consider making the concepts a reality. Pretty cool, right?

As per Idle Hands, a fan-submitted concept for Ghostbusters LEGOs indeed did receive the necessary amount of votes last year, and the company has just announced that they will be releasing the iconic Ecto-1 vehicle, along with miniature yellow Ghostbusters.

"We’re thrilled to take the ECTO-1 and minifigure characters from Brent Waller’s Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary project and release them as the next LEGO CUUSOO set," said the company. "This is an amazing model, and the set will be a fantastic representation of the cult classic film. Supporters know that Brent put a lot of love into this, and the final model, which we can’t reveal quite yet, will be largely based on his original car design. The final design, pricing and availability are still being worked out, and the set will be released later this year, so stay tuned!"

Whether you liked it or you hated it, last year's Uwe Boll-produced Zombie Massacre proved to be a success on home video and VOD platforms, which means a sequel is on its way. But that's the bad news.

The good news? The sequel isn't so much a true sequel, but rather another zombie film that's more or less borrowing the title. I guess we can live with that.

Already sold in the US, Canada and Germany, Zombie Massacre 2: The Fourth Reich will again be produced by Boll and directed by Luca Boni and Marco Ristori.

In Fear is a tense psychological horror about a young couple's fight to make it through the night. Home invasion, but in a car. In real-time. Tom (De Caestecker) and Lucy (Englert) are trapped in a maze of country roads with only their vehicle for protection, terrorized by an unseen tormentor hell-bent on exploiting their worst fears. Driving, lost and tormented in the night, primal fears of the dark and the unknown give way to fear that you have let the evil in, or that it is already there.

So, what did everyone think of the "American Horror Story: Coven" finale? Personally, I'm ready to look ahead to next season, and so is exec producer Ryan Murphy, who teased a few tidbits about the upcoming Seasons 4 and 5...

In his typical post-mortem chat with EW following last night's reveal of the new Supreme (be sure to hit the link below for all the gory details), Murphy revealed the following about what's ahead for fans of the show:

Can you say anything about who’s returning next year definitely?
RM: I don’t wanna say because we haven’t even started the deals, and I literally just locked this thing on Monday. I’m meeting with people too and the writers haven’t even started yet.

Do you still think next season will be darker?
RM: Hmmmm. I don’t know what to say. It’s a combination of things. It’s a combination of two time periods, with the main one being the 1950s. I don’t know. We haven’t started writing it yet, so I don’t really know the tone. I like that we had a lot of comedy in this year, and I like the comic characters, so I think that will remain... Next year will be equally as challenging [as "Coven" was] because so much of it is period and bizarre and crazy and Gothic. My feeling is, if you loved this season, you’ll love next season. It has the same sort of comedic tone to it.

People seem to really want American Horror Story: Circus.
RM: I saw those posters. I don’t know where people came up with that idea. Sometimes I think its people wanting us to do topics and doing fan posters. No one has completely guessed what it is.

But you already know what Season 5 is?
RM: I do, because it’s a radically different idea from the stuff we’ve been doing and it will take a lot of playing.

Synopsis
