Directed by Guillaume Lubrano, Metal Hurlant Chronicles stars Michael Jai White (The Dark Knight), James Marsters ("Buffy" and "Angel"), and Darren Shahlavi (Watchmen) with fight choreography by Larnell Stovall (Mortal Kombat).

In this week's edition of Dread Central Live, special effects guru Vincent Guastini brought some props to the studio and showed us his interpretation of what the spider head from the new The Thing would've looked like.

If you can only spare a couple of minutes, this is THE clip from Dread Central Live that you have to watch!

In addition to the spider head, whom host Vanessa "Gore Whore" Gomez immediately wanted to make out with, right after Staci Layne Wilson (you have to watch to get it), Vincent also showed off a monster head from Steven C Miller's Under The Bed as well as a couple of victim heads from Cabin Fever: Patient Zero.

Last month Syfy and The Asylum revealed that Ian Ziering and Tara Reid will reprise their roles as Fin and April in the eagerly awaited Sharknado sequel, Sharknado 2: The Second One. Today more familiar faces have joined the fracas.

Deadline is reporting that Vivica A. Fox, Mark McGrath, Kelly Osbourne, Andy Dick, Judah Friedlander, and Judd Hirsch have been cast in the sequel, which is set to begin production next week.

Anthony Ferrante is again directing a screenplay by Thunder Levin – this time about a freak weather system that turns its deadly fury on New York City, unleashing a “sharknado” on the city’s population and its most iconic sites, with sharknado experts Fin (Ziering) and April (Reid) the only ones able to save the city.

Here's the breakdown of who's who:

Vivvica A. Fox will play Fin’s old high school friend, Skye.
Mark McGrath will play Fin’s brother-in-law.
Kelly Osbourne will play a flight attendant.
Andy Dick will play a police officer.
Judah Friedlander will play someone named Brian.

The Daily Mail landed the first images of Halle Berry as Molly on the set of the now filming CBS project "Extant" along with her pint-sized co-star and android son Ethan, played by Pierce Gagnon. Check 'em out and look for more on this one soon!

Camryn Manheim plays Sam Barton, Molly’s best friend; Goran Visnjic plays Molly's husband, John; and Michael O'Neill and Grace Gummer also co-star.

Synopsis:

Ready for a taste of Dracula’s imminent return? If so, you'll be happy to hear that Konami has released a playable demo of its eagerly awaited Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 in North and South America.

The full game is scheduled to be released on February 25th for Playstation®3, PlayStation®Network, Xbox 360, Xbox LIVE® Games on Demand, and Steam® for PC; and demos for all formats are now available digitally.

The demo allows users to become familiar with the game's many new advances, including an all-new controllable camera, vast locations, and intuitive combat elements.

The specially-tailored demo gives players control over Dracula as his castle comes under siege from the Brotherhood of Light and their armies. It acts as a prelude to the full game, allowing players to wield an assortment of weapons such as the energy-replenishing Void Sword (see the video below for more info) and the armor-destroying Chaos Claws. It also showcases a huge Titan combat sequence, wherein a gigantic enemy creation forms a moving location during the game, with Dracula scaling the moving behemoth as it assails his castle.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 has been flagged as one of the most ambitious and epic games of the current generation and acts as a stunning conclusion to the Lords of Shadow saga. The full game will see Dracula stranded in modern times and charged with thwarting the emergence of an even greater evil: Satan himself.

It was last May when Summit announced that Insurgent, the sequel to the upcoming Divergent, already had a writer lined up; and now word has come that along with giving the script a rewrite, the studio has found a director.

Per Deadline, Robert Schwentke, whose credits include the 2010 action comedy Red (which also came from Summit), has been tapped to helm the script currently being rewritten by Akiva Goldsman based on a draft by Brian Duffield.

This past December it was revealed that Divergent director Neil Burger wouldn't be directing the second film because of post-production on the first movie overlapping pre-production for the sequel, which already has a March 20, 2015 release date.

Divergent, which stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, and Kate Winslet, comes out March 21, 2014, with the third film in the trilogy, Allegiant, scheduled to arrive on March 18, 2016.

Moving to a brand-new night of the week, Season 9 premieres Saturday, February 15, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT and features thirteen hour-long episodes; new episodes continue Saturday nights thereafter. In each episode the “Ghost Adventures” team travels to a different haunted destination, where they meet with locals, eyewitnesses, and experts in an attempt to piece together the haunted history of each site. They then begin a dusk-to-dawn “lockdown” investigation, using the latest scientific gadgets and technology in an effort to obtain physical evidence of the paranormal and uncover the truth behind each haunted mystery.

In the Season 9 premiere, Zak Bagans, Nick Groff, and Aaron Goodwin explore the Oman House – a Los Angeles home ridden with paranormal activity believed to be directly related to the infamous Sharon Tate murder by Charles Manson’s cult of followers in 1969 – which took place just 200 feet from the property. The team discovers the home also sits atop a Native American burial ground and on a geomagnetic anomaly. Reports include objects moving on their own; sightings of a pregnant, bleeding female apparition walking around outside the home thought to be Sharon Tate herself; and those who enter the house have feelings of overwhelming physical pain and illness. As the lockdown begins, a powerful, negative energy shrouds the space – along with disembodied voices and objects falling over on their own. When Groff experiences burning sensations and severe stomach pains, he’s forced to leave the home. What the team documents leaves more questions than answers.

With production set to kick off in a few days, an update has arrived for The Night Visitor 2: Heather's Story, the sequel to The Night Visitor, Jennifer Blanc-Biehn’s directorial debut, which has been hitting the film fest circuit with a vengeance.

Chip Coffey is an acclaimed medium, paranormal investigator, and speaker. Coffey was also featured on thirty-one episodes of the popular A&E series "Paranormal State."

Filming for The Night Visitor 2: Heather's Story begins February 15th in Los Angeles so expect lots more soon.

Is a reconciliation in the cards for "Being Human's" Aidan and Suzanna? Somehow we don't think so although in these new photos from Episode 4.06, "Cheater of the Pack," they do seem to be getting a bit chummier.

Synopsis
LUCKY BASTARD is the story of a shy young man who wins a contest to have sex with a famous porn star on an adult website. It is the found footage from these cameras that tells the story of the inevitable and horrifying reality of what actually happened.

The official US trailer has checked in for Under the Skin, the sci-fi thriller that stars Scarlett Johansson as an alien seductress. Honestly, do you need anything else to sell you on this one? Please, Scarlett, probe us. Thanks, we'll wait!

In the film, written by Walter Campbell and directed by Jonathan Glazer, Johansson's character scours remote highways and back roads in Scotland for human prey.

When it comes to viewing 3D images in movies, TV shows, etc., our choices are limited. We're either wearing paper glasses with colored lenses or bulky glasses that we sometimes have to change the battery in, or we're going to the theatre and watching as our wallets are violated. There just may be an alternative!

Over on Wiki Tree a story has been published which shows off a viable alternative that may be simpler than you think. As simple as adding lines to a moving image.

Is it perfect? No. But it's certainly a step in the right direction for those of you who want the thrills without the frills.

We have a couple of updates for NBC's "Grimm" that should help fill the void until the Olympics are over and the show returns, including word on a new guest star and the upcoming digital series "Love Is in the Air."

Per TV Guide, C. Thomas Howell (pictured; "Southland,""Criminal Minds") will play FBI agent Weston Steward in Episode 3.18. Because of his experience and capability, Prince Vikton (Alexis Denisof) views Weston as an invaluable resource when Stateside issues need to be handled swiftly and precisely.

Peter Straub has called Tessier’s novels, “Excellent… frightening…something very special in the field of horror.” Stephen King praises his work as, “Very good indeed, scary, grim, and fast-paced,” and Ramsey Campbell says Tessier’s stories are, “Terrifying…As frightening as anyone now writing in this field. One of the few who are extending the boundaries of the field rather than merely retelling guaranteed terrors.”

When asked about this project, Tessier said, “The stories in WORLD OF HURT range over the whole spectrum of horror, from the demons that dwell within us, feeding on our fantasies and obsessions, to the monsters that lay in wait for us outside...in the woods at the edge of town or just down the street, in the backyard or the room upstairs.”

The five stories in THOMAS TESSIER’S WORLD OF HURT are from his Remorseless (Sinister Grin Press) and Ghost Music (Cemetery Dance Publications) collections and include “I Remember Me,” “In Praise of Folly,” The Infestation at Ralls,” “The Ventriloquist” and “Evelyn Grace.” Production is to begin in 2014, and each director (identities forthcoming) will be writing his or her own script in consultation with Tessier.

About the five directors Tessier said, “I’m thrilled to be working with such a talented and accomplished group of directors and filmmakers. They are going to create powerful moments of fear, dread and horror and riveting cinema.”

Tessier’s novel Fog Heart received the International Horror Guild’s Award for Best Novel and was cited by Publishers Weekly as one of the Best Books of the Year. A finalist for both the Bram Stoker Award and the World Fantasy Award, Tessier’s work was also included in Huffington Post’s “Ten Books That Will Scare the Shit Out of You!”

“Look for horror, and you will find it,” Tessier said. “Don’t look for it, and it will find you.” In 2014 it’s apparent that horror will find all of us in the form of THOMAS TESSIER’S WORLD OF HURT.

File this one under "No-Brainer": The CW has announced its early pickups for the 2014-15 TV season, and of course they include genre favorites "The Originals,""Supernatural," and "The Vampire Diaries."

The CW Network has ordered early pickups for the 2014-15 season for its hit series "THE ORIGINALS,""THE VAMPIRE DIARIES," and "SUPERNATURAL," which will be returning for its tenth season next fall. The series pickups were announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW.

“This season we've had great success with our new hit series 'THE ORIGINALS' paired with 'SUPERNATURAL,' giving us our best Tuesday nights in years. 'THE VAMPIRE DIARIES' is #2 in its time period in the young adult demos...,” said Pedowitz. “I'm very pleased to announce [these] early pickups... and let our fans know they’ll have more great drama to look forward to next season.”

The CW's lineup of breakout freshman hit series "THE ORIGINALS" and fan favorite "SUPERNATURAL" has doubled the network's Tuesday night ratings year-to-year in adults 18-34 (+100%, 1.4 vs. 0.7), grown +150% in adults 18-49 (1.5 vs. 0.6), and gained +88% in total viewers (3.2 million vs. 1.7 million) versus last season. In its ninth season, "SUPERNATURAL" has seen double-digit increases year-to-year in total viewers and all key demos and recently had its most watched episodes since 2010.

"THE VAMPIRE DIARIES" remains the network's highest-rated show in all key demos in its fifth season and season to date is ranked #2 in its time period among adults 18-34 (1.8 – tie) and #3 in adults 18-49 (1.8), ahead of ABC and NBC.

This season... "THE VAMPIRE DIARIES" [has] also seen a 25% jump in digital viewing versus last season, and "SUPERNATURAL" has seen a huge 57% jump in digital viewing over last year. "THE ORIGINALS" was also named the most social new series of the fall season by ListenFirst Media.

Also picked up for early renewal were "Arrow" and "Reign." Still on the bubble is "The Tomorrow People," which has definitely improved as of late, so we're hoping for a positive outcome for it as well. We'll keep you posted!
