Two-Faced Official One-Sheet for The Raid 2: BerandalThe official one-sheet for Gareth Evans' sequel to The Raid: Redemption, entitled The Raid 2: Berandal, has arrived; and it's boasting some pretty big words that we are likely to agree with. Check it out!

Hyperbole or fact? We'll all find out come March 28, 2014.

Iko Uwais (The Raid), Julie Estelle (Macabre, Alex Abbad (Merantau), Marsha Timothy (The Forbidden Door), Mathias Muchus, Tio Pakusadewo, and Cecep Arif Rahman star.

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA) acquired the film for the United States, Spain, Latin America, and South Africa; and Sony Pictures Classics will once again release the film theatrically in the United States.

Synopsis
He thought it was over. After fighting his way out of a building filled with gangsters and madmen – a fight that left the bodies of police and gangsters alike piled in the halls – rookie Jakarta cop Rama thought it was done and he could resume a normal life. He couldn’t have been more wrong.

Formidable though they may have been, Rama’s opponents in that fateful building were nothing more than small fish swimming in a pond much larger than he ever dreamed possible. And his triumph over the small fry has attracted the attention of the predators farther up the food chain. His family at risk, Rama has only one choice to protect his infant son and wife: He must go undercover to enter the criminal underworld himself and climb through the hierarchy of competing forces until it leads him to the corrupt politicians and police pulling the strings at the top of the heap.

And so Rama begins a new odyssey of violence, a journey that will force him to set aside his own life and history and take on a new identity as the violent offender “Yuda.” In prison he must gain the confidence of Uco – the son of a prominent gang kingpin – to join the gang himself, laying his own life on the line in a desperate all-or-nothing gambit to bring the whole rotten enterprise to an end.

Kurt Russell Offers Opinion on Escape from New York Remake

Kurt Russell Offers Opinion on Escape From New York RemakeThere's been talk of an Escape from New York remake for years, and the project is now languishing in development hell. Something tells us it won't be there for very long. In any event, Snake Plissken himself, Kurt Russell, offered up his take on the possible remake and more to IGN!

There’s nothing wrong with the concept of doing something,” Russell told the site of the proposed Escape from New York reboot.

I just think that my only thing about that is, when I think of remakes — and I’ve done remakes that I didn’t think should have been done — I only think remakes make sense if you take an idea that was flawed, a script that was flawed, perhaps they didn’t have enough money to make it correctly, maybe a character or two was not particularly well-played or could be fixed. If it had a problem that you’d say, ‘God, if you just do that, that’s a great movie,’ or ‘If that movie had so-and-so in it, it could be great! Imagine that with so-and-so in it. Imagine that done this way.’ Then that to me makes perfect sense as to why they would do a remake.

We couldn't agree more.

When asked if Russell would take the role on again himself... “He’s a great character. But no, I’m too old. Snake’s a man in his prime. He’s an American man absolutely in his prime. He’s a really good character.

Jinn Trailer Grants Your WishBefore you get all crazy and start going off on "My wish never got granted," yadda, yadda, yadda... the headline is a figure of speech and is not to be taken literally. Though that would be cool. Really cool, even. In a perfect mystical world, I tell ya! In any event... dig on this new trailer for Jinn.

Detroit-based Exxodus Pictures and Freestyle Releasing have announced a North American wide theatrical release date of April 4, 2014, for JINN, a tension-filled supernatural thriller.

The film, written and directed by Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad, was produced by Ahmad, Benjamin Dresser, and Alan Noel Vega and stars Dominic Rains (Flight 93), Serinda Swan (USA’s “Graceland”), Ray Park (Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace), Faran Tahir (Elysium), and William Atherton (Die Hard). Richard Mandell, Najam Syed, and Shahid Syed executive produced the film for Exxodus.

The storyline of JINN involves ancient mythological beings that have rarely been explored in US cinemas. The premise of the jinn concept, known to over 1 billion people around the world, involves ghost-like entities and revolves around creation mythology.

Synopsis
In the beginning, three were created. Man made of clay. Angels made of light. And a third made of fire.

For centuries, stories of angels and men have captured the imagination and been etched into history crossing all boundaries of culture, religion, and time. These two races have dominated the landscape of modern mythology, shrouding the evidence that a third was ever created. This third race, born of smokeless fire, was named the jinn. Modern man has all but forgotten this third race ever existed. It is time for him to remember.

Look for the film on VOD March 25 via Gravitas Ventures.

Happy Camp is the story of four filmmaker friends who visit the Northern California town of Happy Camp, where hundreds of people have gone missing from the surrounding mountains, including one of the pals’ younger siblings decades ago, to film a documentary.

James Badge Dale Busts Ghosts for Spectral

James Badge Dale Busts Ghosts for SpectralWorld War Z actor James Badge Dale isn't ready to give up the undead just yet as he's going from fighting zombies to fighting ghosts in Legendary Pictures' new horror flick Spectral.

According to The Wrap, Badge Dale is in negotiations to star in the film, which will be directed by Nic Matthieu. The original treatment, which was described as a supernatural Black Hawk Down, was purchased from Ian Fried, though George Nolfi wrote the script with an assist from rewriter John Gatins.

The premise of the project is centered on a modern-day, militaristic, and gritty approach to fighting the supernatural. Sources say the pitch, which sold for six figures, has been described as a darker and more serious take on a Ghostbusters-like story, with a plot that revolves around a special ops group formed to bring down evil ghosts that have taken over Manhattan. Locations and details might change over the course of the writing, however.

A&E Developing The 36 with the Writers of Immortals

A&E Developing The 36 with the Writers of ImmortalsAre you a fan of stories about angels fighting humans and/or amongst themselves? If so, you'll possibly have another new TV show to watch along with "Dominion" on Syfy as word has come that A&E is developing "The 36." Read on for the details.

Per Deadline, A&E Network is developing the high-concept drama "The 36" with Immortals writers Charley and Vlas Parlapanides along with producer Michael London (The Illusionist, Milk).

The project’s title stems from the mystical Jewish concept of The Righteous 36, which stipulates that at all times there are 36 people in the world possessing special powers who don’t necessarily know each other, but if even one of them were to go missing, the world would come to an end.

If this premise sounds familiar, it was recently used on the Fox drama "Touch," where such 36 people were hunted by a shady organization.

A&E's "The 36" is set in New York and tells of the world of the Biblical fallen angels. These dark angels, or Nephilim, live among us and are only kept in check by The Righteous 36. It will center on Dane, a complicated hero who soon learns that he’s in the middle of this battle for the soul of mankind. The Parlapanideses are writing the script and will direct. They will also executive produce with London through his Groundswell Productions for A+E Studios.

Is Final: The Rapture the Scariest Christian Movie Ever?

Is Final: The Rapture the Scariest Christian Movie Ever?Nic Cage’s remake of Left Behind looks to have some divine competition in the form of Final: The Rapture. “Don’t Miss the Most Important Film of Your Life” might sound like the filmmakers are laying it on a bit thick...

...unless you consider the objective of their film is to render the audience born again scared.

Final: The Rapture is starting to make its way around the country theatrically, mostly Florida at the moment.

Judging by the trailer for Timothy A. Chey’s entry into the subgenre I’ve come to dub “Rapture Porn,” when the Rapture occurs, the human race will be divided into two groups: those that seemingly walk around aimlessly and those that join armed gangs of roving killers. Marantha News calls Final: The RaptureThe Scariest Christian Movie Ever,” for what’s that worth.

No, I have no clue what Marantha News is either.

Synopsis:
Breathtaking, gripping, layered, and astonishing, FINAL is a gritty, international tale of four separate stories woven together by a common theme: the Rapture. In Los Angeles, Colin Nelson desperately attempts to flee to Bora Bora. Keenly aware that he's in the Tribulation period, his only hope is in a mysterious man named Frankie. In Tokyo, a covert agent, Masashi, tries to unravel the disappearance of millions of people as the government closes in on him. In Rio De Janeiro, Marie searches for her final relative as time runs out. And on a deserted island in the South Pacific, Tom Wiseman, an avowed atheist, attempts to be rescued after his plane goes down. Bold in scope, FINAL will captivate you from the very first page to the stunning, tear-jerking end.

Nothing more to say as I think the final line in the trailer pretty much sums it up.

Actually, there is one more thing to say. What network news outlet has a teletype making a racket in the background during a live newscast in this day and age?
