Retrosploitation brings the “lost” 1987 shot-on-video slasher from pseudonymous filmmaker Jesus Satan to DVD - on the heels of a sold-out limited edition VHS release and lengthy creative content dispute with Amazon.

DOLL KILLER began life as a short story by Dustin Ferguson published on leading slasher website Retro Slashers and quickly grew a viral life of its own as a lost classic with a shady past. Now it’s a real movie that blurs the lines between contemporary and retro.

Horror Society was “completely mesmerized with the film’s history and back story” and called it “flawless when looked at as a modern S.O.V. horror attempt.” Slasher Studios says that “if you enjoy flicks like VIDEO VIOLENCE and THE BASEMENT, you are sure to have a gory good time with this one.”

Shot under strict conditions to recreate the feel of quintessential late 1980s shot-on-video slashers, DOLL KILLER is a darkly absurd trip through yesteryear guaranteed to concurrently offend and delight.

Synopsis

The Bunnyman Massacre is set to premiere next Friday, April 18th, on the CHILLER TV network. Just is time for Easter weekend! The holiday was never about coloring eggs or eating candy. On the contrary, it was the celebration of Christ, and this psychopath is looking to make sure you meet him first-hand!

Synopsis
Joe and Bunnyman's adventure continues in a rural ghost town. Bunnyman's blood lust knows no bounds, as he slaughters indiscriminately anything that crosses his path. Joe is all too happy to encourage his behavior, selling the dead victims as beef jerky in his local store.

It's a mutually beneficial relationship until cracks start to emerge. As the bodies pile up, including a couple dozen kids in a school bus, Bunnyman's body count is becoming more problematic. Joe is forced to dispose of the bodies by any means necessary, a problem he exacerbates by occasionally joining in on the rampage.

In addition to Joe's body disposal problem, the local sheriff becomes suspicious after the disappearance of a few of his deputies. His investigation crosses paths with two persistent sisters that refuse to die at the hands of Joe and Bunnyman. Some will live, and some will die, but all will be damaged.

After five weeks of competition the Hellions Video Contest Winner was announced on April 7th, 2014. The Crimson Thread, written and directed by Nate Wilson, took top honours and will be featured in a scene of the feature film HELLIONS.

We knew Katharine Isabelle would be joining "Hannibal" this season, and her first appearance comes on Friday in Episode 2.08, "Su-zakana." Check out this new batch of stills from the ep that gives us our first look at Isabelle as Margot Verger.

Margot is a patient of Dr. Lecter who has suffered years of abuse at the hands of her serial-killer twin brother, Mason Verger (played by Michael Pitt). As the season progresses, the unstable, wealthy Mason will engage in a dangerous cat-and-mouse game with the good doctor while Margot is a potential new love interest for Will.

"Hannibal" Episode 2.08 - "Su-zakana" (airs 4/18/14; 10-11PM)
JACK INVITES WILL TO REJOIN THE FBI TEAM - When a young woman’s body is discovered inside of a horse, Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) suggests to Jack (Laurence Fishburne) that Will (Hugh Dancy) be brought in to help crack this peculiar case.

Will has seemingly cast aside his suspicions of Hannibal, resuming their doctor-patient relationship, but Alana (Caroline Dhavernas) remains skeptical regarding Will’s true intentions and worries that Hannibal may still be in danger.

The FBI questions the man they suspect to be the killer in their case, but lack of evidence forces them to let him go. Will and Hannibal race to guard the safety of a witness they believe is in jeopardy, but it might be Will’s own judgment that is in peril.

It's getting to the point that horror movie success can now be measured by how many posters the A Haunted House series deems fit to spoof. Today's A Haunted House 2 poster goes back to The Conjuring and we can't help but snicker. Dig it!

The sequel to A Haunted House catches back up with Malcolm (Wayans), who is trying to get a fresh start after having to exorcise demons out of his ex. However, moving into a beautiful home with his new girlfriend and her two children does nothing to stop the paranormal — or the humor.

Deadline reports that QED won a bidding war to obtain the Dan Kunka-penned spec script, which oddly enough is only 52 pages long. Not only is the script so short, but there is very little dialogue and few human characters in it, which needless to say should make for a most interesting movie.

The action begins after an apocalyptic event that saps the humanity from most of the mutated humans that remain. At its core, it’s the story of a mother wolf, separated from her mate as the rest of the pack flees to safety, is forced to defend her cubs from the oncoming swarm.

The deal was six figures against a near seven-figure purchase price if the movie gets made.

The film will be produced by Kevin Misher as well as QED’s Bill Block.

THIS SATURDAY NIGHT, April 19th, Gallery 1988 will begin its most ambitious, and secretive, project ever. We have teamed up with Sony Pictures to pay tribute to one of the greatest movies of all time, turning 30 this year: Ghostbusters.

We have produced a once-in-a-lifetime traveling art exhibit that features more than 70 artists creating original paintings, limited edition prints, sculptures, and apparel inspired by the classic comedy. More casting news has come in for the latest comic book adaptation headed our way! Read on for an update on the feature adaptation of Alterna Comics'The Chair, which is to be directed by Dread Central favorite Chad Ferrin.

More fan favorite actors have been attached to The Chair, based on the Alterna Comics graphic novel of the same name.

Zach Galligan (Gremlins, Hatchet III) and Kyle Hester (The Book of Daniel, Burden of Freedom) have been cast as prison guards Riley and Bowen, respectively. Ezra Buzzington (Crossbones, The Prestige), rumored before to play the part of the insane and rambling inmate Tudley, has also been attached to the cast. And rounding out these latest additions, Kin Shriner (the voice of Green Arrow in the Justice League animated series) has been cast as Officer Oliver, the officer who arrests main character, Richard Sullivan.

Producer, co-writer, and creator of the graphic novel Peter Simeti informs us that the rest of the main cast, including the pivotal role of main character Richard Sullivan, is very close to being finalized.

A Kickstarter to raise $300K for the film's budget has been planned for release in mid-May. Rewards will include props, wardrobe, books, posters, copies of the film - all signed by the cast and crew, set-used and signed chairs from The Chair, and even several roles in the film as an extra on camera during the scene where Richard Sullivan gets arrested.

Topping off all of this news, a teaser trailer has been planned for release in the next few weeks that Simeti assures will be "bone-chilling, terrifying, powerful, and absolutely awesome. If the teaser trailer doesn't let you know what you'll be in store for, then nothing else will. We are making a horror film that has as much 'brains' in it as it does 'guts'."

Richard Sullivan is an innocent man struggling to escape his fate on Death Row. Witnessing the brutal torture and murder of his fellow inmates, will he find a way to survive, or will the insane events of the prison finally consume him? Everything is not what it seems, and sanity is such an easy thing to lose.

So we've all been waiting patiently to see who the next director of the latest installment of the Friday the 13th franchise would be. Today we're closer to that answer, and the choice may signify the found footage route after all given the person considered for the gig's past.

The Wrap is reporting that David Bruckner, who wrote and directed the “Amateur Night” segment of V/H/S (which follows three guys who bring a mysterious girl back to their motel room, where terror strikes), is in negotiations to direct the Friday the 13th reboot for Paramount and Platinum Dunes.

It's unclear what approach Bruckner plans to take with the reboot or how it will incorporate the Jason Voorhees/Camp Crystal Lake mythology.

Bruckner previously co-wrote and co-directed the 2007 horror film The Signal, and he has also been working on the home invasion thriller Intrusion for producers Doug Davison and David Linde.

Paramount has already picked out the perfect release date for the Friday the 13th reboot — Friday, March 13, 2015. Please just bring back Derek Mears and give him something exciting to do. That's all we ask.

Last year was the very first annual Stanley Film Festival, taking place at the real-life hotel that served as the inspiration for The Shining's fictional Overlook Hotel. This year the fun continues, and the event has just gotten a big time upgrade.

Celebrating the best in independent horror cinema, SFF will showcase a full slate of features, shorts, panels, and fully immersive experiences - set at the Stanley Hotel. The haunted landmark opened in 1909 and was the inspiration for Stephen King's Overlook Hotel in The Shining.

The Stanley Film Festival is honored to recognize Joe Dante (Gremlins, The Howling, Piranha) with the inaugural 2014 Stanley Film Festival Master of Horror award. The award will be presented by horror icon Mick Garris (Sleepwalkers, The Shinning, The Stand, Masters of Horror), creator and chief organizer of the fabled master of horror dinners attended by great filmmakers past and present, on Sunday, April 27, at the Stanley Awards Horror Brunch. "Our festival is a celebration of horror in all its forms, with live performance being chief among events to get excited about. The eerie atmosphere of the Historic Park Theatre will provide the perfect backdrop to perform the Stanley's very first live radio play," says Stanley Film Festival Program Director Landon Zakheim. "Larry Fessenden, Glenn McQuaid, and their troupe of players bring a tremendous sense of creativity and talent that will make this one of a kind experience a highlight for years to come."

Rounding out the weekend is a series of panels. SpectreVision co-founders Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah, and Josh Waller will present a panel about their film production and music management company and their future plans. Additional panels include Who Watches This Stuff?: Buying, Selling, Distributing and Exhibiting Horror Films Today as well as a panel focusing on the New Wave of horror featuring Ti West, Travis Stevens, Glenn McQuaid, and Larry Fessenden.

Panel moderator Ryan Turek (ShockTillYouDrop.com) and Fangoria Entertainment's Rebekah McKendry will also bring their hit Los Angeles horror event Dead Right Horror Trivia to the Wheel Bar in Estes Park on Friday Night. Scare yourself with how much you actually know about horror. While this event is free and open to the public, pre-registration is strongly encouraged.

After tickling the ivories and scooping up acclaim on the festival circuit last year, Eugenio Mira's Grand Piano (review) hit limited theaters and On Demand outlets earlier this year. Now, the high stakes piano playing is headed to home video, and we've got the skinny for ya today.

Magnolia Home Entertainment has announced a May 20th release for the flick, on both DVD and Blu-ray. Check out the box art along with a listing of bonus features!

Elijah Wood stars in the thriller, alongside John Cusack. The cast also includes Dee Wallace, Alex Winter, Tamsin Egerton, Kerry Bishé.

Synopsis
Tom Selznick, the most talented pianist of his generation, stopped performing in public because of his stage fright. Years after a catastrophic performance, he reappears in public in a long awaited concert in Chicago. In a packed theater, in front of the expectant audience, Tom finds a message written on the score: “Play one wrong note and you die.” Without leaving the piano, Tom must discover the anonymous sniper’s motives and look for help without anyone realizing.

Tuesdays are a lot more bearable now that we have "From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series" to look forward to, and if you're enjoying it as much as we are, then check out a preview of tonight's Episode 1.06, "Place of Dead Roads," in which we finally arrive at the infamous Titty Twister.

“From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” centers on bank robber Seth Gecko (D.J. Cotrona) and his violent, unpredictable brother, Richard “Richie” Gecko (Zane Holtz), who are on the run after a bank heist left several people dead.

While heading to Mexico, Seth and Richie encounter a former pastor and his family, whom they take hostage. Using the family RV to cross the Border, chaos ensues when the group detours to a strip club that is populated by vampires. They are forced to fight until dawn in order to get out alive. The series deepens the tone of the original film, adds new characters and backstories, and expands the Mesoamerican mythology behind the creatures inside the club.

Along with Cotrona and Holtz, the international cast includes Jesse Garcia, Eiza González, Wilmer Valderrama, Adrianne Palicki, Jake Busey, Don Johnson, Madison Davenport, Lane Garrison, Robert Patrick, and Brandon Soo Hoo. The 10-episode, hour-long series is El Rey Network's first scripted original and has already been renewed for a second season.

The Gecko brothers and the Fuller family enter the Titty Twister and find more than they bargained for as Seth senses his deal with Carlos may be slipping away. Meanwhile, Texas Ranger Freddie Gonzalez tracks his quarry to the last stop before Hell.
