This upcoming anthology film sounds a bit familiar both in title and in the fact that it features 26 different horror shorts for each letter in the alphabet. Directors include Ryan Meade, Rob Bedard, Sebrina Bedard, Erik Zijlstra, Tom Sullivan, Raoul Duke, Jr., and Beth Norwowski.

"Hang on to your seat. This low budget rollercoaster ride has got something for everyone," says the tagline, and we're sure by that they mean the eventual lawsuit.

Synopsis
The story for Treehouse focuses on missing teenagers and unknown shadows in the local Missouri woods. A brother and sister are kidnapped and two brothers find one of the victims, Elizabeth. Elizabeth is alone and afraid, in an isolated fort; several shadows lurk below. All three classmates will have to face an unimaginable evil, if they are to survive the night.

The sales art for the latest film adaptation to grow like a Homunculus from Clive Barker's Books of Blood, entitled Jacqueline Ess starring "Game of Thrones"' queen of all that is evil and perverse, Lena Headey, hit Twitter this morning courtesy of Paul McEvoy and we have it for ya right here!

Headey will star in the movie version of horror icon Clive Barker’s Jacqueline Ess. Raven Banner Entertaintment and Barker’s Seraphim Films are producing. Raven Banner will be selling the film, set to go into production late this year, at Cannes.

“Lena Headey is a marvelous performer with an incredible presence,” says executive producer Clive Barker. “As far as I’m concerned, there is no better choice of actress for the role of Jacqueline. Her beauty and authority will carry the day.”

Jovanka Vuckovic will make her feature debut. Her credits include short film The Captured Bird from exec producer Guillermo del Toro, and the all-female horror anthology XX.

Vuckovic will direct from a script she co-wrote with Christian Francis.

Jacqueline Ess is the story of a woman who, in her thirst for change, achieves the ability to transform people’s bodies at will. It originally appeared in Barker’s Books of Blood anthologies, which also included the stories that were basis for the horror films Lord of Illusions and Candyman.

Headey and Vuckovic will be co-producers on the film. Barker, along with Seraphim’s Mark Miller and Ben Meares, will executive produce.

Last month we learned some more information about the upcoming Friday the 13th TV series that Sean Cunningham teased last year, and today he's spilled a whole lot more of those tasty beans, giving us much more of an insight into what we can expect from the show. Read on!

In an exclusive chat with Bloody Disgusting, Cunningham confirmed that the series will be taking place inside the confines of the infamous Camp Crystal Lake, and that Jason Voorhees will play an integral role in the show, both through flashbacks with his mother and in present day action.

"It’s premature to say how the stories will involve the Pamela/Jason relationship but we have some very exciting ideas of what we’d like the show to be and some new themes we’re going to include," said Cunningham, in regards to the flashback sequences. He went on to suggest the possible involvement of Jason's father Elias, who was never seen in any of the movies.

What will Jason look like, you ask? Cunningham remained tight-lipped about that, but he seems fairly confident that us diehard fans will be happy with the direction being taken with the character.

"As we wrestle with the passage of time a new issue became how did Jason age?. Did he age at all or is he the same as he was back in the day? Fortunately our special effects team led by Bill Basso, Jordu Schell and Roy Knyrim are on the case," he offered up. "Their work is amazing and the end result is both disturbing and fitting with the story we’re hoping to tell."

Though he neither confirmed nor denied the involvement of Tommy Jarvis (here's hoping!), Cunningham assured that the show will be quite gory and very much true to everything we know and love about the franchise, which is music to our ears.

"We’re at a place where we can actually do a series which satisfies fan expectations and, more importantly, will allow us to tell stories which can attract an even wider audience," said the director of the original Friday the 13th. "The filters on violence and sex and language which used to exist in network television are quickly disappearing. There is a tremendous appetite for well-told stories, regardless of how horrifying the themes may be."

The beginning of FX's adaptation of Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan's "The Strain" is just a little over a month away, and the network is continuing to dole out tiny teaser trailers to keep our anticipation growing. Speaking of growing... you may wanna watch where you're walking!

The ensemble cast of "The Strain" includes Corey Stoll, Mia Maestro, Sean Astin, Kevin Durand, Natalie Brown, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Robert Maillet, Jack Kesy, Ben Hyland, Miguel Gomez, and David Bradley.

"The Strain" is a high concept thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers wage war for the fate of humanity itself.

The highly anticipated first season of “The Strain” will premiere on July 13 at 10 p.m. and will include 13 episodes.

On tap for you today are lots of little morsels of info regarding four upcoming horror films, so let's waste no time and jump right in, shall we?!

First up, Screen Daily reports that the horror comedy Zombeavers has been picked up for distribution in a slew of different markets, including Europe (Splendid Films), Spain (A Contracorriente Films), France (Zylo), Australia and New Zealand (Roadshow) and the Middle East (Prime Pictures).

Epic is understood to be closing a multi-territory deal with a major distributor for the UK, Scandinavia, Latin America and Eastern Europe excluding Russia and a pan-Asian pay-TV deal with a studio. Negotiations are ongoing for Russia, Taiwan and South Korea.

Jordan Rubin directed the tale of girlfriends at a lakeside getaway who get attacked by mutant rodents. Evan Astrowsky, Chris Bender, JC Spink, Christopher Lemole and Tim Zajaros produced.

The site also reports that Johnny Galecki, Chloe Sevigny and Angelica Huston will star in the fantasy horror flick The Master Cleanse, described as a potent brew of dark humor and David Cronenberg-style body-horror.

The film centers on a heartbroken man who attends a spiritual retreat, only to discover that the course releases more than everyday toxins and traumatic experiences.

Production is set for early July in Vancouver. Bobby Miller makes his feature directorial debut and additional casting will be announced in due course.

In other news, the UK rights to the Neil Marshall-produced Soulmate have been acquired by Soda Pictures, due for a July release.

Anna Walton (Hellboy 2), Tom Wisdom (300), Nick Brimble (A Knight’s Tale) and Emma Cleasby (Dog Soldiers) star in the story of a young widow who is disturbed by a cottage’s previous inhabitant after a failed suicide attempt.

Writer-director Axelle Carolyn’s feature debut is produced by Claire Otway and is a Neil Marshall presentation for Sterling Pictures.

And finally, the cast of Timo Tjahjanto and Gareth Evans'The Night Comes For Us has been filled out, as Arifin Putra (The Raid 2), Oka Antara (The Raid 2), Rio Dewanto (Joko Anwar’s Modus Anomali), Prisia Nasution (Sang Penari) and Kelly Tandiono (The ABCs Of Death) have joined the previously announced Julie Estelle and Yayan Ruhian.

The Raid: Redemption's Joe Taslim plays a mobster who returns to his local crime family in Jakarta only to find himself trapped in a word of betrayal and chaos.

Raid director Gareth Evans will handle the action direction for the film.

Much like You're Next, the hunters become the hunted in the UK home invasion film Tiger House, and on tap for you today is the first piece of sales art for the flick, which is sure to arouse those with a crossbow fetish. Blame Norman Reedus, if you've got one.

Shooting has begun on the thriller, which is set in the UK and currently being filmed in South Africa. Theatre director Thomas Daley is at the helm.

Expect it in UK cinemas and, depending on Glass Man Films' Cannes distribution deals, elsewhere, later this year.

Kaya Scodelario ("Skins") stars as Kelly, a teenager who fights back after an armed gang break into her boyfriend’s home and take him and his family hostage. The cast also includes Ed Skrein and Dougray Scott.

Tiger House is the first film to be produced by Glass Man Films, comprised of producers Richard Mansell (Only Lovers Left Alive) and Tarquin Glass, in partnership with South African producer Ronnie Apteker.

Executive producers are Tendeka Matatu for Ten10 Films; Will Clarke, Andy Mayson, and Mike Runagall for Altitude; and Gary Millner.

While it's not exactly a horror film, per se, The Mule stars a few faces that are familiar to horror fans like ourselves and it's about drugs being stuffed up a dude's butt, two things that make it worthy of a mention here on Dread.

The whacky film has just been picked up for U.S. distribution, and we've pulled out all the details for ya today!

XLrator Media has acquired U.S. distribution rights to the edgy, comedic thriller THE MULE from Entertainment One Films International’s newly launched boutique sales arm Séville International. The film, written by Leigh Whannell & Angus Sampson, recently had its world premiere to great acclaim at South by Southwest (SXSW) in March. XLrator Media will release the film in Fall 2014 on its acclaimed “MACABRE” genre label. The deal was announced today by XLrator Media CEO Barry Gordon.

We've been talking about Darren Bousman's (Saw II, III, IV; Repo! The Genetic Opera; The Devil's Carnival) latest flick Abattoir for what feels like forever. Finally we have some solid news to report!

According to Variety Chad Michael Murray (pictured) is attached to star, with plans to deliver the flick by 2015.

Bousman is set to direct Abattoir, which will be produced by Radical Studios. Bousman will work from a screenplay by Christopher Monfette, who adapts the Radical Publishing comic book miniseries created by Bousman.

Abattoir centers on a Boston real-estate reporter who unearths an urban legend about someone who has spent decades buying homes where horrific tragedies have occurred and piecing them together, ultimately leading to the enigmatic Jebediah Crone and the answer to the terrifying question: How do you build a haunted house?

Rob Zombie has been away from the horror movie making genre for a while now, but with the following teaser it's become very apparent he's ready to make his return. We don't know much, yet, but we do have some goodies to show you.

A couple of days ago the following video was posted on Rob Zombie's official website by unior Manager Sarah Martin McIvor. Basically what it is, is a brief look at his filmography thus far ending with something called 31.

Bloody Disgusting has confirmed that "The title refers to October 31, Halloween night" and Zombie himself claims that this is something “for the hardcore fans who want it nasty and brutal.”

Given the visage of a clown mask and it happening on Halloween it's hard not to speculate that the musician turned filmmaker would be returning to the Myers franchise for round 3, but that seems highly unlikely.

The directorial debut of Hong Kong Best Actor winner, Nick Cheung, entitled Ghost Rituals, is scaring up interest at this year's Cannes Film Market, and we've got the details you need to see if this is one haunt you're interested in visiting!

The multiplex isn't the only place you'll find Godzilla this summer as IDW Publishing has announced that the King of the Monsters will also be resurfacing in the pages of a new mini-series in which an apocalyptic wasteland awaits!

This summer the fire-breathing goliath Godzilla faces a ravaged earth in the brand new mini-series Godzilla: Cataclysm. Like the previous critically acclaimed Godzilla mini-series Godzilla: The Half-Century War, this new five-issue series explores a self-contained journey of epic proportions!

Last seen in the monster apocalypse, Godzilla has all but abandoned humanity. In the ashes of a nightmarish future, an elder tribe leader, Hiroshi, is haunted by the monsters of the past that nearly wiped out mankind. As danger begins to escalate for his tribe, the memories of the past may well be the key to saving the future.

Godzilla: Cataclysm will come crashing down starting this August.

Industry veteran Cullen Bunn (The Sixth Gun) brings his renowned talents to the series as writer, with the immensely skilled Dave Wachter (Night of 1,000 Wolves) handling the art in this dystopian Cataclysm.

“I've wanted to write a Godzilla story for as long as I can remember,” said Bunn. “Before I even started kindergarten, I drew a book titled ATTACK OF THE MONSTERS, which featured Godzilla, along with other monsters, terrorizing the world. The story started with Godzilla erupting from an iceberg and ended when the military dropped a massive sword on his head. I like to think that my storytelling sensibilities have matured since those days, but the desire to write a Godzilla story has remained with me.”

2014 marks the 60th anniversary of Godzilla stomping on to the screen and captivating audiences worldwide. Fans can catch Godzilla every month in the ongoing IDW Godzilla series Godzilla: Rulers of Earth.

Highly acclaimed horror drama Nothing Bad Can Happen, directed by German filmmaker Katrin Gebbe, is getting a June 27th release in Los Angeles and New York with an expanded national rollout to follow, and right now we have several stills and the first clip from the film to share.

Synopsis:
Inspired by horrifying true events, Nothing Bad Can Happen follows Tore, a young lost soul involved with an underground Christian punk movement who falls in with a dysfunctional family who test his seemingly unwavering faith.

After a chance encounter helping stranded driver Benno, where Tore manages to start his car with an apparent miracle, he is invited back to Benno's home and becomes friendly with him, his wife, and two children. Before long Tore moves into a tent in the garden and gradually becomes part of the family. However, Benno can’t resist playing a cruel game designed to challenge Tore’s beliefs. As his trials become more and more extreme, Tore finds his capacity for love and resilience pushed to its limits and beyond.

We're seeing more and more creative marketing techniques these days, and to entice moviegoers to experience The Purge: Anarchy first-hand this summer, Universal and Blumhouse will be taking the special mobile attraction "The Purge: Breakout" to several cities across the country.

Per THR, the immersive experience will place people inside the annual Purge Night, 12 hours every year when all crime is legal. Groups of visitors will be held captive by a demented psychopath 30 minutes before the purge begins and must work together to solve a series of increasingly complicated, mind-bending puzzles to escape captivity.

"Our goal with 'The Purge: Breakout' is to bring the universe of The Purge films directly to the audience,"Blumhouse CEO Jason Blum said. "This experience allows fans across the county the chance to immerse themselves in the intricate world that the series' writer-director, James DeMonaco, has so painstakingly crafted. We hope that they enjoy being scared out of their minds."

The mobile attraction begins in Atlanta on May 30 and will spends weekend in Miami, New York City, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Dallas before its final stop in Los Angeles from July 11-20, which will overlap the film's July 18th release date.

It's a good time to be a fan of the iZombie comics. Not only is a new TV show based on Chris Roberson's popular series heading our way at midseason from The CW, but DC Collectibles has revealed an upcoming collectible statue of the main character.

TV Guide got the first look at the lovely lass in all her brain-eating glory. It's being released by DC Collectibles, the merchandising wing of DC Entertainment, whose Vertigo imprint published the series.

Based on the designs of the comic-series' artist Michael Allred and sculpted by Phil Ramirez, the statue is approximately 9.25 inches tall and will go on sale this November for $99.95.

Though the TV series modifies the original story written by Chris Roberson a bit, the storyline is essentially the same: Following a zombie infection, a young woman must eat the brains of dead people in order to maintain her own humanity. As a result, she absorbs the memories of the dead person and, somewhat reluctantly, helps solve their murder or carry out their final wishes.

In the original comic the protagonist was Gwen Dylan, a gravedigger; in The CW's version her name is Liv Moore, who works in a coroners' office. She'll be portrayed by Rose McIver. You can compare the different interpretations below.

It was a quick shoot for Fetish Factory, writer/director Staci Layne Wilson's feature debut, which features a post-apocalyptic atmosphere blended with burlesque bawdiness. While the film goes through post, we have several stills to share straight from the set.

“We are wrapped on FETISH FACTORY, my 5-day feature film wonder-shoot for the fab BBP,” said Wilson. “What a way to make a directorial debut: pinup girls, multiple costume changes, burlesque acts, singers, bands, claustrophobic ‘haunted house’ horror with a big cast, zombies, beauty and F/X makeup, bloody death scenes, stunts, and humor -- I think my next movie should be about one character in a phone booth or something… WHEW!”

“FETISH FACTORY was more fun than I could have ever imagined,” added co-star/producer Jennifer Blanc-Biehn. “It’s a really exciting film featuring pinup models versus zombies.
