RoboCop officially took over the city of Detroit yesterday as the crime fighter hit the streets to meet and take pictures with fans in celebration of #ROBOCOPDay and the Blu-ray and DVD release of the film.

RoboCop visited iconic landmarks including The Monument to Joe Louis, The Spirit of Detroit, 8 Mile, and Comerica Park. Additionally RoboCop visited top radio stations at Clear Channel, CBS Radio, and Greater Media Detroit and even did the weather on WJBK-TV, the local Fox affiliate.

The day concluded as he threw the ceremonial first pitch at the beginning of the game between the Detroit Tigers and Toronto Blue Jays, with the first 10,000 fans receiving a commemorative RoboCop poster and some lucky fans taking home a copy of the new Blu-ray. RoboCop took photos with players, invaded the press box, and kept the peace with passionate fans.

It's been called one of the best zombie films in years, and after scooping up heaps of acclaim on both the festival and VOD circuits, Jeremy Gardner's must-see film The Battery (review) is headed to home video, courtesy of our friends over at Scream Factory. Release details await!

Over on their Facebook page, Scream Factory revealed that the Blu-ray release of The Battery has been given the street date September 16th, with pre-order links set to make their way onto the net real soon. No details have been confirmed about extras, but we're told they will be available real soon.

In the meantime, check out the reversible artwork for the release below, featuring the original theatrical poster on one side and a brand new piece of alternate art on the other. Dig it!

The film follows Ben (Gardner) and Mickey (Adam Cronheim), two former baseball players with clashing personalities, as they trek through a bleak landscape overrun with the walking dead searching for a glimmer of hope.

With the emphasis placed less on the zombies and more on the dynamic between the two diametrically opposite main characters, The Battery is an incredibly ambitious film that defies convention and is loaded with emotion and a sense of sentimentality not often seen in your traditional zombie flick. It’s also proof positive that a great movie is made through passion and dedication, not a huge budget or crazy special effects.

Wrenches and scissors and handguns? Oh my! Techland and WB Games have announced their upcoming presence at this year’s E3 with authority by giving us a brand new trailer for the upcoming zombie game Dying Light.

The trailer itself is an onslaught of violence with a variety of improvised weapons, showcasing a level of gore that would make H.G. Lewis blush.

Gamers have been waiting a very long time on news of Dying Light’s release date. Finally, our unholy prayers have an answer. The game is slated for a February 2015 release, but there's no concrete day as of yet. It will be available on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.

Aside from being gleefully violent, Dying Light’s new trailer is meant to show off the game’s natural movement feature. It allows for movements to be more intuitive and combine parkour-style movement with brutal combat. The trailer does nothing to explain this though, but Techland promise to provide full details about it at E3 this year. Yet another reason to attend the world series of video games.

The trailer also showcases some of the more powerful enemies that will be encountered in Dying Light. A large super soldier, effortlessly swinging a rebar club, and a flaming behemoth-like brute charging headlong are just a taste of the more powerful undead that the game will feature.

For those of you who go outside and thus haven’t heard, Dying Light is an action survival horror game where, during the day, you utilize movement and agility to defeat hordes of zombies and complete missions. At night you are on the run, as the zombies become much more powerful and are accompanied by nocturnal predators that leave their hives to feed. In the game’s night segments, the hunter becomes prey as you flee the ravaging undead.

The game will incorporate the RPG elements of collecting and crafting, which the player will utilize to craft their many weapons and find the supplies needed to survive a zombie filled hell on earth.

Zen Pinball 2 has played host to a number of great concepts and titles reinterpreted into a pinball format. From Dr. Strange to Star Wars, the game has always had the nerdy in mind, but today Zen Studios announced that it has one in the pipe for horror fans...

The Walking Dead Pinball will be available for download later this summer on Zen Studios pinball platforms across console, PC, and mobile stores.

I have played a lot of games on the next-gen consoles and can report that Zen Pinball 2 is by far the most genuinely fun title available. It features lavish graphics and fully animated tables, providing an experience beyond what is possible in real life arcade. Look for this game to be a must-play for anyone who enjoys zombies or unadulterated fun.

"Salem" Episode 1.08 - "Departures" (airs 6/8/14)
Increase Mather (guest star Stephen Lang) makes it his first order of business to catch a real witch, and starts by pinpointing a prominent figure from Salem's most sinful district. Mary worries that Increase will detect that his old friend George is under a spell and enlists the help of Isaac to deter Increase from uncovering the truth.

Meanwhile, accusations within Salem intensify, and Cotton must deal with a painful turn of events – and Anne’s suspicions of her father reach a fever pitch.

In addition to Lang, guest starring are Christopher Berry (“Resurrection”) as Petrus and Morgana Shaw as Mab. "Departures" was written by Jon Feldman and directed by Alexander Zakrzewski.

Hulu Plus has just launched the trailer for its latest horror acquisition, Crawlspace, and you can check it out with just a quick click of your mouse. Isn't technology grand? I remember the days when we had to go to movie theatres to see trailers, and even then we couldn't rewatch 'em!

Weeks ago Hulu Plus signed a deal with digital studio Vuguru for exclusive subscription VOD rights to three films, one of which is the horror flick Crawlspace. Dig on the eye candy below.

Crawlspace will debut on Hulu Plus this Thursday, June 5th.

Originally known as Hideaway, the film was directed by Josh Stolberg. Steven Weber ("The Shining", "Desperation"), Jonathan Silverman, Lori Loughlin, Nicole Moore, and Sterling Beaumon star in the film about a killer terrorizing a family living in his foreclosed house.

Promising to be "bolder" and "even more ridiculous,"Sharknado 2: The Second One is heading toward us faster than a... well... I don't know what it's faster than, but it's definitely fast! Check out the newly released teaser trailer for the flick, which will be blowing in at the end of July.

You will be able to see the highly anticipated sequel on Wednesday, July 30th, at 9 PM PT/ET, just a little more than one year after the original Sharknado aired.

Anthony C. Ferrante returns to direct a screenplay by Thunder Levin, who also wrote Sharknado. In Sharknado 2: The Second One, a freak weather system turns its deadly fury on New York City, unleashing a "sharknado" on the population and its most cherished, iconic sites – and only Fin and April (Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, returning from the original) can save the Big Apple.

Kelly Osbourne, Judd Hirsch, Andy Dick, Judah Friedlander, Vivica A. Fox, and Mark McGrath also appear in the Syfy Original Movie, which promises cameos by the likes of Perez Hilton, rapper Biz Markie, Salt-N-Pepa's Pepa (aka Sandra Denton), Robert Klein, and professional wrestler/Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle.

Well Go USA has released another clip from Juno Mak's Hong Kong vampire flick Rigor Mortis, and right now we have it for you complete with a suicide attempt and other ghastly happenings. Check it out!

Rigor Mortis will be on VOD outlets June 6th along with a limited theatrical roll-out on the same day. The theatrical listings thus far include New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, and Honolulu.

In this eerie and chilling contemporary action/special effects-laden homage to the classic Chinese vampire movies of the 1980’s, writer-director-producer Juno Mak makes his feature directorial debut. Co-produced by J-Horror icon Takashi Shimizu, and reuniting some of the original cast members of the classic Mr. Vampire series, Rigor Mortis is set in a creepy and moody Hong Kong public housing tower whose occupants, we soon discover, run the gamut from the living to the dead to the undead, along with ghosts, vampires, and zombies.

Synopsis
RIGOR MORTIS stars action movie veteran Chin Siu-ho (Siu-ho) as a former vampire hunting actor who now finds himself reaching the end of the line as a washed-up star, separated from his wife and alienated from his son. Down on his luck and with barely a dollar to his name, he checks into Room 2442 in the housing estate, an allegedly haunted flat. His aim is to end his misery by doing himself in, but instead Siu-ho is interrupted by some of the other "occupants" of the building including a Taoist master-exorcist (Anthony Chan), a traumatized housewife with a tragic past (Kara Hui), as well as a seemingly benign elderly woman (Paw Hee-ching) who has an empty coffin conspicuously hanging in the middle of her apartment. Soon it becomes apparent to Siu-ho that the people around him and the situation are far from normal. Despite his lack of belief in superstition, Siu-ho is soon thrust into the battle of his life as vicious vampires with unsettled business begin to rise from the dead...

Another still has arrived for Joston Theney's new project Adam K., and we have this bad boy for you right here. The still features Sarah Nicklin as "Amanda Cole," who's apparently trying desperately to avoid the warm, bloody embrace of the flick's big bad.

"What really makes the killer so scary is that he could literally be any 'normal' guy that you run into on the street," says Nicklin. "He's completely unassuming (until all Hell breaks loose)."

She continues, "I think the biggest impact it would have [on horror fans] is to make people look over their shoulder and be more suspicious of their neighbors or the good samaritans that seemingly just want to help them out because you never know what their ulterior motives might really be."

Writer/director Joston "El Rey" Theney has announced that Adam K. will soon be making its way to theaters and home video. Theney previously said, "In early fall we'll have the Los Angeles premiere, then a Bay Area showing. Some festivals have reached out to us, but we're only going to do about two or three of those."

The film stars Brinke Stevens, Arielle Brachfeld, Kristin Wall Wheatley, Sarah Nicklin, Jessica Cameron, Graham Denman, and Dylan Hobbs. It's written, directed, and produced by Joston "El Rey" Theney.

Yesterday we brought you an early look at the Afterlife with Archie trade, and now Archie Comics is back with the announcement of a new ongoing title, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, from writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Afterlife with Archie) and artist Robert Hack.

Details are a bit scarce at this point, but we do know that the series, which promises to show fan-favorite character Sabrina in a way fans have never seen her, builds upon the success of Afterlife with Archie and expands the company’s line of horror-centric offerings.

Issue #1 of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is slated to launch in October.

Our Canadian friends will be able to see Discopath (review here) on DVD and digital/cable VOD beginning next week, and today we have a look at the first four minutes of the film along with its new artwork and a few stills.

Abigail Breslin stars as the lead with Alexander Ludwig, Wes Bentley, Logan Huffman, Connor Paolo, Francesca Eastwood, and Michael Trevino rounding out the cast.

Synopsis
Loner Veronica is new to school, shy and vulnerable, the perfect target for a group of teenage boys who lure girls into the woods to hunt and kill them for sport. It’s only after they get her alone that she turns the tables on them, escaping and revealing she’s armed and knows how to defend herself. Little do they know, Veronica is an assassin-in-training, and she’s chosen killing these boys as her final test. Every bit of artwork we have seen for the horror musical Stage Fright (review) has been great. Let's hope that trend extends to its Blu-ray and DVD release. Given all the goodies we've gotten already, if we get some ugly eyesore, we shall riot!

Filmmaker Luciano Onetti's Giallo homage Sonno Profondo (Deep Sleep) had its premiere at this year's Cannes Film Festival, and now BrinkVision is set to release it on both DVD and VHS(!) later this year.

The CW has sent some new artwork for its upcoming series "iZombie" into the digital world, and we've gotta be upfront and honest... it's about as bland as they come. Given the fun subject matter of the show, this is a real misfire. Hey, at least it's early, right?

"iZombie," from Rob Thomas Productions and Warner Bros. Television, is written by Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero and produced by Thomas, Ruggiero, Danielle Stokdyk, and Dan Etheridge. Rose McIver stars alongside David Anders and Robert Buckley.

Synopsis:
Med student-turned-zombie Liv (McIver) takes a job in the coroner's office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity. But with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse's memories.
