RLJ/Image Entertainment have just unleashed the official trailer for the new zombie flick Aftermath, starring Edward Furlong and Monica Keena, and we have this flesh-hungry sonofabitch for you right here. Dig it!

Directed by Peter Engert, the film also stars Andre Royo and C.J. Thomason.

Synopsis
When the devastating horror of a nuclear apocalypse becomes a reality, nine strangers find themselves holed up together in a farmhouse cellar. These would-be survivors are faced with dwindling supplies, radioactive air, and the greatest threat of all: the hordes of zombie-like refugees who want in.

Bong Joon-ho's Snowpiercer has had a long and arduous journey to theaters here in the States, initially being heavily edited for mass American consumption. Thankfully, that journey has come to a happy end as the film is set for release on June 27th in its full original form.

Based on the graphic novel Le Transperceneige, Snowpiercer is set in the not too distant future, where a new Ice Age has wiped out most of the human race. With a revolt brewing onboard, the Snowpiercer is a train of Earth’s lone survivors that travels around the cold world.

In a future where a failed global-warming experiment kills off most life on the planet, a class system evolves aboard the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe via a perpetual-motion engine.

We've seen a handful of different promotional posters for the upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, but we can assure you that the one you're about to see is the one you'll most want to tack up on your wall, admire, and possibly even touch yourself to. Seriously. It's that cool.

Synopsis

While doing press for The Fault in Our Stars, opening this weekend, director Josh Boone was asked about The Stand, which he is slated to direct; and he had some optimistic words for fans of the massive Stephen King novel.

"We’re gonna do one, three-hour, R-rated version with an amazing A-list cast across the board," Boone (pictured) told Vulture. "Every single one of those characters will be somebody you recognize and somebody you relate to. And it’s gonna be awesome."

He continued, "I’m really excited. It’s the most exciting thing I’ve ever got to do in my entire life. If 12-year-old me had ever known that one day I’d be doing this, to even just go back and look at that kid, I’d be like, 'Keep doing what you’re doing!' It’s just crazy. I’ve met so many actors over the years... when I met Stephen King, I hugged him with tears in my eyes. He meant that much to me when I was young. I still say everything I learned about writing I learned from Stephen King. I don’t read screenplays. I don’t read screenplay how-to books. It’s always just establish the character. Establish the character."

Cast thus far is Boone's Fault co-star Nat Wolff, and we expect more announcements soon.

The Stand, which is being produced by Jimmy Miller and Roy Lee for Warner Bros. and CBS Films, is a story of good versus evil after a virus wipes out most of the American population. It features dozens of characters (including such memorable ones as the Trashcan Man and Mother Abigail) and overlapping storylines running over many years as it tells of a group of survivors fighting the Antichrist-like Randall Flagg.

Back in 2011 Ghostbusters embarked on a bit of a theatrical revival, playing on screens across the country. I was lucky enough to experience the film on the big screen with an audience of fellow super fans, and it was quite frankly the geek equivalent of a religious experience...

One that I hope every fan of the film gets to experience at least once in their lifetime.

Sony Pictures Entertainment will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its blockbuster franchise Ghostbusters with a series of special events and home entertainment releases. As a highlight of the celebration, the original 1984 film has been restored and remastered in 4K and will be returning to the big screen, in over 700 locations in the United States and Canada, for a limited engagement starting August 29 (Labor Day weekend).

Commenting on the announcement, Rory Bruer, president, Worldwide Distribution for Sony Pictures, said, “Ghostbusters is still one of our studio’s most beloved franchises – I was lucky enough to work on the release of the film on its first run, so it’s a real thrill for me to see that it’s still connecting with audiences everywhere. On the big screen or in home entertainment, this is a great movie to experience again and again.”

Following the theatrical release of the film, on September 16, fans will be able to own the Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray and the Ghostbusters II 25th Anniversary Edition, as that film makes its Blu-ray debut. The Sony Pictures Home Entertainment releases of the films will also be available in a two-disc anniversary edition Blu-ray™ Digibook including both films, as well as a Limited Edition gift set that includes an exclusive collectible Slimer figurine and the two-disc Digibook. This special gift set will only be available for a very limited time, with the collectible Slimer figurine being a true must-have for fans. Both films have been fully restored and remastered in 4K and will be presented in high definition on Blu-ray from those 4K sources.

Both the Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II Blu-rays come loaded with exclusive bonus materials, including revealing conversations with director Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd, as well as never-before-seen deleted scenes from Ghostbusters II and more. The Ghostbusters anniversary edition features the original music video of the Oscar® nominated song “Ghostbusters” by Ray Parker Jr., while Ghostbusters II includes the original music video for “On Our Own” by Bobby Brown. In addition, Ghostbusters will contain all previously released legacy content, commentary and an interactive Slimer Mode, offering fans a picture-in-picture graphical viewing experience.

There will also be a slew of new merchandise from Sony Pictures Consumer Products to be released. Collaborations include Lego, Mattel, Funko, Mad Engine and other select items to help celebrate the occasion. In addition, SPCP partnered with Gallery 1988 to create a once-in a lifetime experience, displaying original paintings, limited edition prints, and sculptures inspired by the film.

Finally, Legacy Recordings / Sony Music Entertainment, will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic Ghostbusters soundtrack with multiple collectible vinyl LP releases this year.

We told you a few days ago that the MPAA was disturbed by the dark circular, barely visible appearance of Eva Green's nipple as well as her side-boob on the latest poster for Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For. Today we have the approved artwork as well as comments from Green herself.

"Oh, my God, I heard about that," she tells Vanity Fair regarding the uproar. "I find it a bit odd. It seems like it’s all just publicity—a lot of noise for nothing. You have so many more violent things in the movie business, and this is kind of soft."

She continues, "I’m not naked. It’s suggested. I find it really sexy, actually. It’s kind of beautiful. But if it shocks people, I don’t know what to do about it. I don’t want to upset anybody. I don’t want to be seen as just the femme fatale or put into some silly box. I hope that people will have enough imagination."

My jaw was already agape in petrified adulation, but this was just the appetizer for the big news found in the pre-E3 trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, released today.

The real shrimp and lobster of the video came at its end, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, February 24, 2015.

Finally, a release date for the most anticipated RPG of the near future. This was all revealed via press conference by CD Projekt Red, at 2 pm today.

This came with the announcement that The Wicther 3: Wild Hunt is now available to be preordered here!

It was accompanied with news that the standard edition of the game will come with additional items; such as stickers, a game map Witcher Universe-The Compendium, and a game soundtrack.

The collectors edition contains everything found in the standard edition and features; a four pound polystone statuette of the game’s hero, Geralt, battling a gryphon, a medallion, a one of a kind steel box, a 200 page art book. All of which is contained in a collector’s box.

The trailer broke a long lull in information or content from the developer since news of its delay from a fall 2014 release, earlier this year. The trailer contains many hints at what will be featured in the upcoming game. Graphically it appears to be a masterpiece. The cut scene visuals look nothing short of magical.

In the trailer, a behemoth bear is displayed in attack mode, and each strand of its brown fur can be seen waiving independently as it charges the camera. With the footage appearing to be ingame, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt appears to deliver a rich graphical experience.

A tidbit of story is revealed as a ruler tells of a mysterious woman who has returned after many years and has the ever sadistic wild hunt chasing her. Geralt is charged with locating her to so that the royalty may, give her what she deserves.

A foreboding voice hints at a prophecy and an element of choice in the game’s storyline. Warning, every decision you make will bring devastation. Each choice will lead to a greater evil.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The good people at Slacktory created this hilarious supercut video from a slew of horror movies. The concept? Bad things happen when a) a character goes to "check it out" or when someone suggests the group should "split up." But it strangely happens so often. Take a look.

Guns, the twisted mutant dead, and dancing. If you are a fan of any of the aforementioned, then today is your Woodstock because Nether has received a full release on Steam. Graduating from early access, the game is now fully available for $14.99.

The news was accompanied with a brand new trailer showcasing the game’s combat... and dancing.

In celebration of the occasion, Phosphor Games announced via press release that:

All players logging in after today will receive a potion that grants the ability to play as a nether and golden chest keys to open rare loot boxes that contain valuable survival items. The first-person survival game pits players against the mutated nethers and each other as they scavenge to survive in a post-apocalyptic Chicago. Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn's film Drive, starring Ryan Gosling, made nearly $80 million at the box office. Recently we learned a really cool fact about him... Refn is a true lover of horror!

Check him out in action hosting a screening of a restored version of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Refn is currently working on The Bringing, a film about the infamous video of a woman acting strangely in the elevator of Los Angeles' Cecil Hotel. He was also helping out with the Maniac Cop remake, but on this night he was all about The Saw. The print was an amazing 4K digital restoration.

The video below is from The Directors' Fortnight (Quinzaine des Réalisateurs), a part of the Midnight Madness program at the Toronto International Film Festival. This is a program that features new directorial talent and indie films outside the primary fest. Refn is joined by Colin Geddes, who helms the event.

Never mind the Easter Bunny, Bugs Bunny, the Playboy Bunny, Peter Cottontail, or any of the other bits of rabbit-themed entertainment you're used to! They will all pale in comparison to Bunnyman Massacre, and come this August you can see it for yourself!

Midnight Releasing is set to unleash the demented Bunnyman Massacre this August 12th on DVD and VOD across North America. Also known as Bunnyman 2, the film is a drastically improved sequel to the 2011 cult hit Bunnyman, which played in heavy rotation on cable TV channel Chiller.

Synopsis
Joe and Bunnyman's adventure continues in a rural ghost town. Bunnyman's blood lust knows no bounds, as he slaughters indiscriminately anything that crosses his path. Joe is all too happy to encourage his behavior, selling the dead victims as beef jerky in his local store.

It's a mutually beneficial relationship until cracks start to emerge. As the bodies pile up, including a couple dozen kids in a school bus, Bunnyman's body count is becoming more problematic. Joe is forced to dispose of the bodies by any means necessary, a problem he exacerbates by occasionally joining in on the rampage.

In addition to Joe's body disposal problem, the local sheriff becomes suspicious after the disappearance of a few of his deputies. His investigation crosses paths with two persistent sisters that refuse to die at the hands of Joe and Bunnyman. Some will live, and some will die, but all will be damaged.

It was back in October 2012 when we first heard about The Hourglass Figure, but now that it's wrapping up a successful festival run, the short's director, Patrick Rea, has given us the okay to share the whole film with Dread Central's readers.

The Hourglass Figure, from SenoReality Pictures, premiered at last year's Shriekfest and is next heading to the Macabre Faire Film Festival as part of Eternal Con, running June 14-15 in Garden City, NY.

It was written by Michelle Davidson and Amber Rapp and stars Davidson and Brian Paulette.

The short is about a mother who’s overwhelmed with housework and raising children. She finds an hourglass in her attic that gives her an extra hour in her day, but it comes with dangerous consequences.

Knowing Rea as well as we do, we're sure he's got at least a dozen irons in the fire and several more projects heading our way soon so stay tuned!

Just days before E3, EA has released new screens from its upcoming action RPG Dragon Age: Inquisition. The new shots introduce fans to one of the game’s many characters, Sera. One picture contains a quote that displays the hard-edged and vengeful side of the character’s psyche. We like edgy chicks!

A second shot depicts a host of characters surrounding a table, a screen grab from the previously available gameplay trailer. Dragon Age: Inquisition will be available October 7th for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.

Okay, in truth we can't confirm whether or not Leatherface is a card-carrying library guy or not, but we have received word that Harvard University has indeed verified claims that one of its library books is actually bound in human flesh.

We reported this possibility in an earlier story but now have solid proof that the college does indeed possess a tome bound in skin. A Necronomicon? Well, maybe.

Actually, it's nothing quite as interesting as a Book of the Dead, but instead it's Arsène Houssaye’s Des destinées de l’ame (On the Destiny of the Soul), which was confirmed to be an example of anthropodermic bibliopegy (bound by human flesh) after researchers disputed the claim about other titles which were concluded to be bound in sheepskin. Des destinées de l’ame was found to be the real deal.

Harvard's Houghton Library received the book in 1934; it contains a manuscript note claiming the book was bound in human flesh from the back of a woman, reading: "A book about the human soul deserved to have a human covering." Performing a peptide mass fingerprinting test to identify proteins, researchers came to the conclusion that the book was truly bound in human skin (or else that of a great ape or gibbon, which could not be ruled out, but chances of that are extremely slim).

According to Bill Lane, the director of the Harvard Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Resource Library, "The PMF from Des destinées de l’ame matched the human reference and clearly eliminated other common parchment sources such as sheep, cattle, and goat." Um…yuck.

Hot on the heels of yesterday's poster reveal for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, a new international one-sheet has charged online and with it comes a pair of floaty faces. This trend has got to stop, damn it!

Look for the film in theatres on July 11th. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smith-Mcphee, Enrique Muriciano, and Kirk Acevedo. James Franco has a minor cameo.

Synopsis
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

French series "The Returned" ("Les Revenants") is getting the American remake treatment here in the States via A&E, and a new star has just come on board. Read on for the latest!

Deadline reports that Jeremy Sisto is returning to his drama roots with a lead role in the 10-episode series. Sisto is known to horror fans like ourselves for his roles in films like Wrong Turn and May.

Kevin Alejandro ("True Blood"), Mark Pellegrino, Sophie Lowe, and Mat Vairo also star in Carlton Cuse’s A&E drama series "The Returned." Keith Gordon ("Dexter") will direct.

"The Returned," from A&E Studios and FremantleMedia North America, focuses on a small town that is turned upside down when several local people who have been long presumed dead suddenly reappear, bringing with them both positive and detrimental consequences. Pellegrino will play the rugged Jack, father of 20-year-old twin girls Lena and Camille, who died in a school bus crash four years ago at age 16 and are now coming back.

Alejandro will play the town’s authoritative but accessible Sheriff Tommy Moran. Lowe plays Lena, one of Jack’s (Pellegrino) two daughters. Vairo plays one of the returned, Simon, a musician who comes back 10 years after his death.

Sisto plays Peter, a psychologist who runs a grief support group for people in the town who are struggling with the loss of loved ones from the bus accident.
