File this one under "How the Hell Is This News?" You know, no one understands the allure of a mysterious woman in black more than I do, but people in Winchester, Virginia, are taking this bit of not-so-paranormal catnip to a much higher level.

Winchester residents have come across a mysterious woman dressed in black, known now as "The Woman in Black," walking about their town, and they've gone so far as to track her appearances and even created an official Woman in Black Facebook Sighting Page to keep tabs on her for... well... who knows why.

Even weirder, The Woman in Black's story made the local news.

PIX11 reports that the mysterious woman has been spotted wearing all black and traveling on foot with black luggage through several states, but now police are asking the public to leave her alone.

The woman, identified as 50-year-old Elizabeth Poles, caught the attention of several residents of the Virginia town, prompting numerous calls to the police department and dozens of people gathering to take a closer look at her.

Why? Just why? Here's an idea! How about you all leave the poor woman alone and let her do her thing... or better yet, instead of gawking at her like an 11-year-old idiot trying to invent an urban legend, why not lend her a helping hand? What the fuck is wrong with people?!?!

Syfy’s pop culture sensation Sharknado 2: The Second One devoured the competition during last night’s July 30th premiere, becoming the channel’s most watched Original Movie ever! Sharknado 2: The Second One (review here) gobbled up 3.9 million total viewers.

Out of those viewers, 1.6 million were Adults 18-49. The movie also averaged 1.8 million Adults 25-54. Additionally, Sharknado 2 delivered one billion (yes, with a "B") estimated impressions for Sharknado Twitter conversations. At one point, Sharknado 2 held all top 10 trending topics in the United States.

There were more mentions of Sharknado on Twitter than #MileyCyrus on the day of MTV’s 2013 VMAs; #kimye on Kim and Kanye’s wedding day; and #transformers4, #thelegomovie, #godzillamovie, and #22jumpstreet on each movie’s worldwide premiere day. It is the most social movie on TV ever and was more social than any episode of "Game of Thrones,""The Bachelorette," or "Survivor."

In addition to the social media storm, Sharknado 2 soared 183 percent among total viewers, 190 percent among Adults 18-49, and 185 percent among Adults 25-54 compared to the first Sharknado movie premiere on July 11, 2013.

Sharknado 2 beat numerous broadcast programs in prime time including CBS’s "Extant," Fox’s "So You Think You Can Dance," and ABC’s "Motive" among Adults 18-49.

Syfy will unleash Sharknado 2: The Second One again on Saturday, August 2nd, at 7PM and Sunday, August 3rd, at 9PM (ET/PT).

We have just one more week to wait until we can head Into the Storm, and to help get us all ready, Warner Bros. has released TV spot number two plus a new featurette courtesy of the studio's UK arm.

From New Line Cinema, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, comes the tornado disaster film Into the Storm. Steven Quale (Final Destination 5) directs the film, which is produced by Todd Garner (Zookeeper, Knight and Day).

The screenplay is by John Swetnam. The executive producers are Richard Brener, Walter Hamada, Dave Neustadter, Mark McNair, Jeremy Stein, and Bruce Berman.

Look for Into the Storm August 8th in the US and August 20th in the UK.

One of the cooler pieces of news to come out of Comic-Con was the announcement by Charles Band of Full Moon Entertainment and Brian Seaton of Action Lab Comics about their partnership to create a comic book series based on the Puppet Master saga.

That's news hotter than Torch's right hand!

The Puppet Master comic series will be written and edited by Shawn Gabborin, famed for his work on Snowed In and Fracture. The artwork will be done by Michael DaSacco.

You may remember Puppet Master making a brief, six-issue foray into the comic world many full moons ago in 1990, but this new partnership will allow Charles Band to bring Blade and all his fellow nightmarish brethren back to the shelves of your favorite comic shop in 2015.

And for those of you using Full Moon Streaming, be sure to check out Herschell Gordon Lewis' 1970 movie The Wizard of Gore, which will be available on August 4. The trailer for that classic romp is below as well. And in the upcoming weeks keep an eye out for Lewis' 1967 film The Gruesome Twosome.

Puppet Master Synopsis
Puppet Master is the story Andre Toulon, an elderly puppet-maker who discovers an ancient Egyptian potion and uses it to bring his creations to life. At the height of World War II, Andre fled to America, pursued by Nazis. In a last ditch effort to protect his secrets, the master packs the dolls away and takes his own life. Years later a rogue psychic revives the dolls, leaving his associates to face off against the monstrous marionettes. Decades (and a handful of "masters") later, the puppets are still raising hell in their own unique way.

I may well be the last DC staffer still watching "Under the Dome," but, just like when driving by a train wreck, I can't help myself. If you're in the same boat, here's a peek at Episode 2.06, "In the Dark."

Just a day after announcing that Alex Kurtzman is now at the helm of The Mummy, we have a release date to share with you cats. Look for the latest reboot to unwrap in theatres on June 24, 2016.

Kurtzman is in final negotiations to direct Universal’s reboot of The Mummy. Kurtzman, who with former writing partner Robert Orci wrote some of the biggest franchise players in the last decade, is already producing the movie with Chris Morgan.

Kurtzman and Morgan are weaving together a cinematic universe for Universal based on its movie monsters properties, and The Mummy is due to be one of the first one out of the gate, setting the tone and stage for the rest of the universe.

Plot details are still under wraps, but it was previously indicated that the new Mummy is set in the present and is not a horror play but rather an action-adventure tentpole with horror elements. It will also feature new characters and not rehash previous incarnations.

Jon Spaihts worked on the script, as did Kurtzman and Orci. Sean Daniel is also a producer on the project. Bobby Cohen is exec producer.

Some of "Sleepy Hollow's" best moments are those that focus on Ichabod's introduction to modern conveniences, and in this new clip from the Season 2 premiere, Abbie teaches him the finer points of banking in the 21st century.

"Sleepy Hollow" focuses on a resurrected Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison), who’s pulled two and a half centuries through time to unravel a mystery that dates all the way back to America’s founding fathers. Along for the wild ride is a modern-day cop, Lt. Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie).

Orlando Jones, Katia Winter, and John Noble return, and joining the show this coming season are Timothy Busfield as Benjamin Franklin, Sakina Jaffrey as the new sheriff, and Matt Barr as a bounty hunter.

If you're still not quite caught up on Season 1, the Blu-ray and DVD arrive on September 16th.

New York's Comic Con might not be quite the juggernaut that San Diego's is, but 2014 looks to be its biggest year yet. A limited number of tickets for the sold-out event are hitting comic book retailers next week, and along with their tickets, fans can get a special New York Super Week card.

The Super Week card offers access to dozens of special offers so read on for the details of that along with how to get your NYCC tickets.

This will be the biggest year in New York Comic Con history, and next week at select comic book retailers, ReedPOP, the world's largest producer of pop culture events, is rolling out a limited number of tickets for the sold out New York Comic Con (running October 9th-12th) along with special New York Super Week cards.

This is the last chance for fans to get multi-day passes and gain special access to the show’s events. The ticket rollout also supports the newest addition to the power-packed guest lineup for the week-long New York Super Week festival: legendary writer and creator Neil Gaiman, brought to the stage by NPR’s "Ask Me Another."

Midtown Comics will be the epicenter of New York Comic Con’s retailer ticket launch on August 7th, giving fans the chance to buy tickets for New York Comic Con and the New York Super Week card at its Midtown Comics Downtown location before rolling out ticket sales to its other stores on August 8th. The limit will be four tickets per customer.

The ticket announcement comes as ReedPOP reveals the latest and greatest guest to join the week’s events and activities: renowned comic luminary Neil Gaiman. The prolific Gaiman will appear as the special guest at an exclusive New York Super Week edition of NPR’s "Ask Me Another," a rambunctious public radio show from NPR and WNYC that blends brainteasers, pub trivia, comedy, and music into an evening of hilarity. On October 10th at the 92nd Street Y Kaufmann Concert Hall, host Ophira Eisenberg invites guests and contestants alike to stretch their noggins and tickle their funny bones alongside house musician Jonathan Coulton. The New York Super Week show will be taped for air on public radio stations around the country and available as an NPR podcast.

Gaiman joins a stellar lineup of New York Super Week guests and events including internationally renowned rock icons X Japan, led by co-founder, drummer, pianist, and songwriter Yoshiki, who will return to New York City’s Madison Square Garden for their first concert since 2010. Tickets for X Japan’s October 11th concert will go on sale Friday, August 1st, at 10:00 AM EDT. Yoshiki will also be on a panel with comic legend Stan Lee at New York Comic Con, where they will discuss the pair’s collaborations, including the comic based on Yoshiki – “Blood Red Dragon.”

These new additions round out a growing lineup of superstar participants and programming for New York Super Week that kicks off with "StarTalk Live!" hosted by Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Few current TV shows are as cinematic as NBC's "Hannibal," and that includes the stellar music that accompanies each episode. If you're a fan of the series who's looking to add to your CD collection, then read on for some very cool news!

Lakeshore Records will release four volumes of music from the hit NBC television series HANNIBAL, composed by Brian Reitzell (Lost in Translation, "Boss").

The HANNIBAL SEASON ONE Volumes 1 & 2 soundtrack will be available digitally on August 5th and on CD September 2nd. The HANNIBAL SEASON TWO Volumes 1 & 2 Original TV Soundtracks will be available digitally on September 2nd and on CD September 23rd.

“Visually it’s so artfully done and quite fantastical so I see it like an opera staging; otherwise, I might be more disturbed,” said Reitzell of HANNIBAL. “Listening to the music alone is scarier than in the context of the show.”

One of the most memorable instruments from the first season of the show is a bullroarer. Reitzell describes it as “an aboriginal instrument. Every continent on Earth has a form of bullroarer — it’s the oldest instrument known to man.” The one he uses, he got from eBay for $5. The instrument is spun around your head and creates a low hum that has movement in space and not just sound. It was recorded in surround sound for the series. “So when you listen to it, it spins around your head, and it’s really powerful.”

Over the last decade and a half, multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and music supervisor Brian Reitzell has been on a mission to further elevate the layer that music adds to a film's life. He has created his own unique method of scoring films, drawing equally from his experience as a recording and touring musician with bands such as Redd Kross and Air and his massive knowledge of recorded music.

Acting as both music supervisor and composer, he often blurs the lines between score, source music, and sound design. His vision is to create a seamless landscape of songs, score, and found music for each soundtrack. Brian’s explorations of new sounds add unique character to visual images. He often has instruments custom built or even invented for individual film scores and wholeheartedly embraces the Brian Eno philosophy of the recording studio as his instrument. Brian has thrived on collaborations with musicians from outside the Hollywood film composer network and has worked with some of today’s most acclaimed musical artists including Air, Richard James (Aphex Twin), Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine), Elliott Smith, Britt Daniel (Spoon), Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Explosions In The Sky, Fever Ray, Robert Plant, Daniel Lopatin, and Ensemble Matheus.

One of the most fascinating literary characters comes to life on television for the first time: psychiatrist-turned-serial-killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter. In this drama we see where his incredible story begins. “Hannibal,” based on the characters from Thomas Harris’ classic novels, is from Gaumont International Television in association with Sony Pictures Television Networks and airs on NBC in the U.S. The series was developed for television by Bryan Fuller, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer.

The Hannibal Lecter character is known as a gourmet chef with a penchant for using unusual ingrediants. Episodes from the first season were named after elements in French cuisine and the second season from Japanese haute cuisine. “Scoring is very similar to cooking,” explained Reitzell, “except with music you can throw all the spices into the pot and then take them out one by one to see what flavors arise out of uncommon combinations. If you put too much white pepper in your sauce, it’s very hard to take it out, but with Protools you just delete the white pepper.”

On tap right now is the first trailer for The House at the End of Time, aka La Casa Del Fin de Los Tiempos, and if you like your horror more creepy than action-packed, this is bound to be in your wheelhouse.

Synopsis
Dulce (Rodríguez) is a mother who has encounters with apparitions in her old house, which unleashes a terrible prophecy. Thirty years later, Dulce, now an old woman, returns home to unravel the mystery and tragedy that has tantalized her.

A clip from "Sleepy Hollow" Season 2 shown at the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con has finally arrived online, and you can see it here. Along with that, we have news of a very popular cast member's return.

In the clip (from an undisclosed episode of the expanded 18-episode Season 2), Abbie and Ichabod use Headless' skull to raise "The Kindred," a powerful entity they hope will be helpful in their battle to save Katrina and avert the apocalypse.

As for that returning cast member, HuffPost TV learned that fan favorite Clancy Brown will indeed appear as Sheriff Corbin in the sixth episode of the season, which is titled "And the Abyss Gazes Back."

"Sleepy Hollow" focuses on a resurrected Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison), who’s pulled two and a half centuries through time to unravel a mystery that dates all the way back to America’s founding fathers. Along for the wild ride is a modern-day cop, Lt. Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie).

Orlando Jones, Katia Winter, and John Noble return, and joining the show this coming season are Timothy Busfield as Benjamin Franklin; Sakina Jaffrey as Sheriff Reyes, filling in for the incarcerated Frank Irving (Jones); and Matt Barr as Nick Hawley, an arms dealer who gets drawn into Ichabod and Abbie's work.

The second season of "Sleepy Hollow" kicks off on September 22nd. If you're still not quite caught up on Season 1, the Blu-ray and DVD arrive on September 16th.

A DVD release date of September 16th has been set for director Richard Gray's Mine Games, which was originally titled Mine Games before it was retitled The Evil Within, via Phase 4 Films. Confusing enough?

Mine Games stars Briana Evigan (Sorority Row), Julianna Guill (Friday the 13th), Alex Meraz, Joseph Cross, and Rafi Gavron.

Synopsis
A group of friends travel to a cabin located deep within the forest. Shortly after arriving, they stumble across an abandoned mine and decide to explore the dark and mysterious tunnels. As the group hikes deeper within the mine, they make a shocking discovery that quickly turns their excitement into fear. Hunted by a mysterious force, the group must work together to escape the mine alive.

It was 15 years ago that Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez co-wrote and co-directed The Blair Witch Project, which needless to say changed the horror game in a big way. Myrick soon returns with Under the Bed, and today the first casting announcement was made. Read on!

THR reports that "Black Sails" and Maleficent star Hannah New (pictured) has joined the cast of the thriller, which was written and directed by Myrick.

Based on true events, Under the Bed centers on a young woman (New) trying to get over a recent romantic breakup, while unbeknownst to her, an obsessed stalker befriends her on social media while taking up residence in her home.

Principal photography is set to begin sometime early this month.

Shawn Papazian is producing along with Radar Pictures' Ted Field and Mike Weber, who developed the project, which started as a story by Myrick and producer Richard Halpern. Sobe Brook Entertainment's Justin Shaner will executive produce with Tom Van Dell, Aldo LaPietra, and Eustace Montgomery Hicks.

Schizo Pictures and Appian Way, the production banner run by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran, are also coming on board to produce the film.
