Hammer has revealed the official and first UK teaser trailer for its upcoming sequel to The Woman in Black, entitled The Woman in Black: Angel of Death. Check it out right here!

Hammer is looking to take the franchise route with The Woman in Black starting with this one which is set 40 years after the events of the original film. "If your second's successful, then your third, then you've got a franchise," said Hammer CEO Simon Oakes in a previous interview. "I just don't believe in the notion that you can press a button and create a franchise, but, I mean, I'm definitely planning 3 and 4…"

The Woman in Black: Angel of Death stars Phoebe Fox in her first leading role in a feature film. Fox is joined by Jeremy Irvine (War Horse, Great Expectations, The Railway Man), the award-winning Helen McCrory (Skyfall, Hugo, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows), and rising star Oaklee Pendergast (The Impossible).

To be released by eOne in the UK on Friday 13th February 2015, the film is directed by Tom Harper and has been shot at multiple locations throughout England and Pinewood Studios.

Synopsis
England, 1941. With London in the midst of the blitz, two teachers evacuate a group of schoolchildren to the abandoned Eel Marsh House. Seeking safety from the bombs in the remote coastal location, the group instead find themselves facing an evil far more frightening when their arrival awakens the Woman in Black.

Last month we learned that Paramount Pictures is working on a third installment in The Ring's American franchise, which is now being titled The Ring 3D. In addition to the title and dimensional change, a new writer has come on board, so read on for the latest!

Deadline reports that Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman is in talks to pen a new draft of the second sequel's screenplay, working off an existing script by David Loucka. F. Javier Gutierrez was previously announced as the project's director.

Goldman's previous writing credits include I Am Legend, Batman & Robin and I, Robot; and he also executive produced the first three sequels in the Paranormal Activity franchise.

Based on a Japanese cult success, the first U.S. film went on to gross $249 million at the worldwide box office. That was enough to justify a sequel, which didn’t match the first one’s B.O. power but still grossed $160 million worldwide despite sucking CG deer dick.

The storyline revolved around a mysterious videotape that, when watched, kills the viewer a week after the person has watched it.

Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are on board as producers, and it is unknown at this time if Naomi Watts will return to star.

Last year's horror comedy Bad Kids Go to Hell was lots of fun, and it did well enough to even warrant a sequel! One that stars a former Hobbit and his lovely true life daughter. Read on for the first word on Bad Kids Go 2 Hell. See what they did there?

Sean Astin (pictured; “The Strain,” the Lord of the Rings trilogy) and daughter Ali Astin (pictured; Lord of the Rings: Return of the King), Gina Gershon (Killer Joe, Showgirls, Bound), Drake Bell (Nickelodeon’s “Drake & Josh”), and Sufe Bradshaw (HBO’s “Veep”) have signed on to join Sammi Hanratty (WGN America’s “Salem”) in Bad Kids Go 2 Hell, the latest chapter in the cult dark comedy-horror franchise Bad Kids Go To Hell.

The announcement was made today by the producers of the Bad Kids film franchise, James R. Hallam, Barry Wernick, and Brad Keller. The film is based on the best-selling graphic novel and has developed a tremendous cult following.

BGKTH veteran Ben Browder ("Farscape,""Stargate,""Arrow"), who played “Max” in the original film, makes his feature directorial debut on BKG2H as well as reprises his role for the sequel. The film reunites Sean Astin with his daughter, last seen together on-screen in Return of the King. Hanratty, in the starring role, leads an ensemble cast of “Bad Kids” comprised of young rising stars Colby Arps (the upcoming Men, Women & Children), Sophia Taylor Ali (“Tyrant” and the upcoming Walking with the Dead), Matthew Frias (When the Game Stands Tall), and Erika Daly.

Executive Producer James Hallam noted: “We are so blessed to have rounded out our youthful and very talented cast with the star power that Sean, Gina, Drake, and Sufe bring to the table.”

In Bad Kids Go to 2 Hell, it's four years later and a new group of students has been placed in Saturday detention at snooty Crestview Academy. After one of the kids locks away the teacher assigned to watch them, the five of them very quickly find their ranks dwindling as each meets a gruesome fate. They may make it out of the library, but with a new threat revealing itself around every hallway, is there enough time and resources for at least one of them to make it out alive?

The film, which was written by Barry Wernick and based on the comic book series created by Wernick and Matthew Spradlin, is currently in production in Texas and is expected to be released in summer 2015. Additional plot details are being kept under wraps, but fans of the first film in the franchise should expect a lot of fun twists and turns.

One of the upcoming shows we're very much looking forward to here on Dread is The CW's DC Comic-based "iZombie," which is set to premiere next year. The network is still working on casting, and a major role has just undergone a big change so read on for the latest!

Entertainment Weekly reports that the network has recast the role of Olivia “Liv” Moore’s mom, tapping Molly Hagan to replace the originally cast Nora Dunn.

Hagan will recur as Eva Moore, a hospital administrator and overbearing mother who watches her ambitious daughter become a zombiefied couch potato who breaks off her engagement to every mom’s dream son-in-law.

The site also reports that "Scrubs" alum Judy Reyes will guest star as Lola Abano, an artsy bohemian who becomes the prime suspect when her artist husband is murdered.

Rose McIver stars in the series alongside David Anders and Robert Buckley.

"iZombie," from Rob Thomas Productions and Warner Bros. Television, is written by Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero and produced by Thomas, Ruggiero, Danielle Stokdyk, and Dan Etheridge.

Synopsis:
Med student-turned-zombie Liv (McIver) takes a job in the coroner's office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity. But with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse's memories. With the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head. A DC reader known only as Egon Spengler has busted these first images of the haunting new film. Amityville: The Awakening is the Blumhouse-produced next installment in the franchise that continues to endure all these decades later.

Jennifer Jason Leigh stars as lead character Joan, a single mother who moves her three kids into the Amityville house, which of course has a very dark history. Bella Thorne, Cameron Monaghan, Taylor Spreitler, and McKenna Grace are also on board.

Maniac remake director Franck Khalfoun will direct.

Dimension had planned on reigniting the popular horror franchise using a found-footage angle, but that idea has been dropped. Amityville remains scheduled for release on January 2, 2015.

Daniel Farrands and Casey La Scala co-wrote the script and are expected to produce with Jason Blum of hit factory Blumhouse.

IFC Midnight’s upcoming thriller The Pact 2 will be released on VOD on September 5th and in theatres October 10th, and to further whet your appetites, they've released an expanded synopsis plus a second still from the film.

The stunning sequel to Nicholas McCarthy’s recent horror classic The Pact ups the ante on terror when a series of brutal murders lead authorities to believe the Judas killer is back and Annie (Caity Lotz; The Pact, "Arrow,""Mad Men") returns home for the final showdown.

The next instalment in the Resident Evil franchise is on the way. The news broke after the box art and a screen capture for Resident Evil: Revelations 2 appeared on the Xbox website.

The leak was first noticed by the French website Gamer in a Box.

Capcom has kept quiet about the upcoming release, refusing any more information about the sequel to Resident Evil: Revelations, including if it will be coming to any consoles other than the 360, but with the PAX convention just a few weeks away, more news on the game could be coming soon.

The financially successful and very well received Resident Evil: Revelations first appeared on Nintendo 3DS and later moved to PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.

The upcoming year will heavily feature the Resident Evil franchise as news recently emerged that the Gamecube version of the original Resident Evil would be remastered in full HD for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

The dust has barely settled on this year’s Gamescom, and after an impressive showing during the Sony press conference, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is back with another gameplay video.

The lengthy demo features developer commentary and walks the viewer through the process of solving one of the many ghastly mysteries found in The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. This video finds the game’s protagonist, Paul Prospero, stumbling upon a blood-laden murder scene on the side of a railway.

Players must use Prospero’s ability to communicate with the dead to piece together the order in which a legless corpse met its end, and the graphics are astounding. The game’s showing at Gamescom looked like a title from the previous console generation, but this video displays the game in full 1080P.

The new video is accompanied by the news that the game has received an official release date of September 25th on PC with a PS4 release coming sometime in 2015. The PC version is already available for pre-order on the game’s website for $19.99. The pre-order edition comes with several bonuses, including the game’s soundtrack, a poster, and a digital map.

While massive crocs menacing big city sewers and huge gators eating cows on the shores of Lake Placid might be the stuff of legend, news from Alabama tells us that monster gators absolutely exist in the good ol' USA.

AL.com reports what appears to be a new world record gator. Clocking it at a massive 1011.5 pounds (over half a ton!) and exactly 15 feet in length, this gator caught in backwoods Alabama is almost definitely the biggest caught in the US.

While it isn't quite big enough to eat helicopters, checking out the size of the claws is enough to keep you from taking a swim down Alabama way.

Caught during a legal hunt by Mandy Stokes and her family, the massive beast put up a four-hour battle involving hooks, lines, and shotguns before finally giving up the ghost.

There's no denying that Daryl Dixon is the most badass character on "The Walking Dead," and we've learned a lot about him over the years. But one area the show hasn't really delved much into is Dixon's sexuality...

He's had a couple of almost romances, but they always seem to fizzle out before they ever really start.

Does it matter which gender a fictional character has eyes for? Well, not really. But since the show's creator is talking about it, we figured it's a topic worth broaching.

In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Robert Kirkman responded to fan questions about Dixon's sexuality by essentially saying that the idea of him being gay isn't totally out of the question, and we may find out as the show gets longer in the tooth.

"All I can say is that it's been discussed," said Kirkman. "We have very specific ideas about Daryl's sexuality (or the seeming lack thereof), and if there's ever a quiet period in the show where he's not consistently distracted by crossbowing… we'll tackle it in the show."

When asked if AMC would allow Daryl to be gay, he added: "For the record, they absolutely would."

Personally speaking, I would love to see Daryl come out of the proverbial closet, as I feel it would be a very positive thing for the community. Homosexuality is often portrayed in a very one-note fashion on television, and such an empowering, masculine character like Daryl could really educate the world a great deal on those matters.
