If bugs bug you, then you might want to stay clear of a new horror anthology film that weaves three creepy crawler tales of terror. Creeping Crawling is set to slither onto DVD/VOD in just over a month. If you suffer from entomophobia, then consider this a warning.

John Russell Cring directs Raine Brown, Anna Shields, Chuck Girard, Sarah VonOuhl, and Laura LaFrate in this trilogy of insect insanity.

Synopsis:
You live with them, you feed them, you fear them. Creeping Crawling is an anthology featuring three tales of terror centered around things that go slither in the night.

Doug and Allison have a paper due and they're hoping an eccentric entomologist will be the lynch pin to a passing grade. They get more than they bargained for when Dr. Tarkovsky tells them the story of GRUBBERY and the lengths supermodel Denver will go to in order to keep her figure. Denver's best friend, Ginger, introduces her to age old dieting wisdom as her boyfriend, Rick, witnesses her eaten away by her own vanity. RID introduces Dori, a beautiful young girl who desperately needs money and poses as a nurse hired to take care of a comatose patient. While staying in the Gothic mansion, she begins to unravel as something feasts upon her while she sleeps. Dr. Tarkovsky's final cautionary tale centers around Bailey. In BUGGER, the lonely man navigates love online. He can't seem to find a woman who shares his six-legged obsessions. A co-worker has her doubts about his motives, as a serial killer is at large.

Brain Damage Films will set loose Creeping Crawling on DVD October 7th. Better stock up on Raid while there's still time.

While the world continues to experience Attack on Titan-mania, Toho is banking on the live-action adaptation of another wildly popular manga: Hitoshi Iwaaki’s Parasyte. It looks like just the sort of mix of cute, ugly, weird, and violent we expect from Japan.

Alien “parasytes” come to Earth and start taking over humans by entering people’s bodies and latching onto their brains. They can deform human bodies in ways that would make John Carpenter’s The Thing smile.

Teenager Shinichi gets infected by an alien called “Migi”, but since it is only able to control his right arm, the two come to an understanding and work together to stop the evil parasytes that only want to consume and control us.

Did you get all that? If not, here’s an even longer, more detailed synopsis of the plot.

Synopsis:
One night by the seaside, tiny creatures, or "Parasytes," arrive on Earth to take over human bodies and prey on humankind. One Parasyte latches on to a regular high schooler, Shinichi, but he prevents it from completely taking over his mind and body, and instead it has to start a reluctant existence in his right arm. Shinichi cannot reveal his terrible secret to those around him, and during this time of stalemate, a feeling almost of friendship develops between him and the creature he calls "Migi" ("Righty"). Before long they begin to encounter other Parasytes, which launch savage attacks against them and put the life of his childhood friend, Satomi, in danger…

Then things take a sudden turn for the worse. Shinichi's beloved mother is killed and taken over by a Parasyte. When the creature launches an attack on him, he has no choice but to kill her. It becomes all-out war. Parasytes kill humans and humans kill Parasytes in return. But nothing is black and white in this struggle. Among the Parasytes themselves, various factions and different points of view develop. Shinichi's new teacher, Ryoko Tamiya, although infected with a Parasyte, tolerates Shinichi. On the other hand, the character Goto, a composite "person" made up of a number of cooperating Parasytes, is bent on human destruction. Collectively the Parasytes begin to ask themselves the question, "Why were we created?"

In a world that humanity has continued to despoil and destroy, is it that the Parasytes are here to cull our numbers? Of course the humans continue to kill Parasytes in order to survive.

Which is it that ought to win? The planet needs to be preserved; yet, it is in our nature to protect our loved ones. Amidst this conflict of values, Shinichi and Migi have no choice but to hurl themselves into the fight against the ever more complex attack of the Parasytes.

The feature film version – actually Part 1 of a two-film series - of the popular manga is directed by Takashi Yamazaki, director of the live-action Space Battleship Yamato flick from a few years back. Shōta Sometani, Eri Fukatsu, and Ai Hashimoto star. Yeah, you know - them.

The true stars of the film are going to be the freaky special effects, and there’s definitely going to be a lot of funky visuals in this one judging by the trailer.

Parasyte opens in Japan November 29th. Expect it to start making its way to the US sometime next year, probably right about the time the second film opens in Japan.

Oh, and don’t feel left out, anime fans. An anime adaptation of the manga debuts on Japanese television this fall. Expect to see it in the US even sooner than the movies.

Premiering September 22nd, "Sleepy Hollow" Season 2 is one of the first fall premieres we have to look forward to. But first a companion book, The Secret Journal of Ichabod Crane, arrives to whet our appetites.

I hate around 90% of the human race. That being said, few people can appreciate a little Solitude more than I can. Check out trailer number two for the latest indie film to come our way, and celebrate silence. I know I do.

Written and directed by Taylor Scott Olson and Livingston Oden, the film stars Armin Habibovich, Victoria LaChelle, Brent Latchaw, Alex Cotant, Glen Stone, Kelly Lavasseur, Amy Correll, and Nicole Kruex.

Solitude is a horror feature film that takes place over a span of 75 years on a mysterious riverfront piece of land where an ancient evil dwells. The story will be told in six segments, each of them taking place in a different time period and made to look like horror films from the era when they take place.

Synopsis:
In 2014 James Erikson finds an old storage locker filled with journals and newspapers... of his family's history. As he researches it, he finds out about the evil that his family has tried to contain for several generations.

Besides present day, the other segments in this film are as follows:

1939 - Frank Erikson is a scientist doing research in North Dakota when a mysterious monster attacks his research team. This will be reminiscent of classic monster movies of the time period, such as The Mummy or Frankenstein.

1961 - Frank Erikson returns to the Solitude River to try to destroy the monster once and for all. This segment is influenced by Alfred Hitchcock's films as well as other B-movies of the 50's and 60's.

1977 - The 1977 segment follows Donald Erikson, Frank's son, a real estate broker who plans to build river homes in Solitude but does not realize what the land holds. It is in the style of supernatural horror films of the 70's, such as The Omen or The Exorcist.

1986 - And here's the slasher! A group of college friends are planning on spending a weekend camping and partying near the Solitude River, not knowing of the evils that dwell there. This segment takes influence from classic 80's slashers such as the Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street series.

1999 - The last segment before present day is going to be found footage, similar to The Blair Witch Project. It follows a group of film students who heard the rumors of the deaths near Solitude and are shooting a documentary about them.

"Z Nation" kicks off tomorrow night, and after showing us a few teasers and some videos they dubbed "WTF," the powers-that-be at Syfy have now released the official full-length trailer for the show.

"Z Nation," produced by The Asylum, is an action-horror series about the epic struggle to save humanity after a zombie apocalypse. The 13-episode "Z Nation" stars Harold Perrineau ("Lost,""Oz"), Tom Everett Scott ("Beauty and the Beast,""Southland"), and DJ Qualls (Road Trip, "Supernatural").

The cast also includes Michael Welch (The Twilight Saga), Kellita Smith ("The Bernie Mac Show"), Anastasia Baranova (The Darkness II), Russell Hodgkinson (Big Fish), and Keith Allan (Rise of the Zombies).

The cast for Yoga Hosers also includes Michael Parks, Justin Long, Genesis Rodriguez, Ralph Garman, Jennifer Schwalbach, and Harley Morenstein. New to the cast are Stan Lee, Tony Hale, Natasha Lyonne, Austin Butler, Adam Brody, Tyler Posey, and Jason Mewes.

Yoga Hosers, written by Smith, centers on 15-year-old yoga nuts Colleen Collette (Lily-Rose Depp) and Colleen McKenzie (Harley Quinn Smith), who have an after-school job at a Manitoba convenience store called Eh-2-Zed. When an ancient evil rises from beneath Canada’s crust and threatens their big invitation to a Grade 12 party, the Colleens join forces with a legendary man-hunter from Montreal named Guy Lapointe (Johnny Depp) to fight for their lives with, according to the producers, "all seven Chakras, one Warrior Pose at a time."

The characters of the convenience store clerks appear briefly in Tusk.

Though we don't yet know much about the film other than the fact that it's of the supernatural variety, TWC-Dimension has just picked up a script called The Bye Bye Man, and they seem pretty certain that it's going to scare our collective pants right the hell off. Read on for the first word!

TWC-Dimension announced today that they have acquired worldwide rights to Intrepid Pictures’ supernatural thriller THE BYE BYE MAN, with a proceed-to-production commitment.

The script was adapted by Jonathan Penner (LET THE DEVIL WEAR BLACK) from the short story “The Bridge to Body Island” by Robert Damon Schneck, which chronicles the harrowing events experienced by three Wisconsin college students in the early 1990s. Stacy Title (THE LAST SUPPER, HOOD OF HORROR, and the Oscar-nominated short DOWN ON THE WATERFRONT) will direct. The log line and plot details are currently being kept under wraps.

Trevor Macy will produce through his Intrepid Pictures banner with Marc D. Evans and David Prior as executive producers. Overseeing production for TWC-Dimension are Matthew Signer, EVP of Production and Creative Affairs for TWC-Dimension, and Keith Levine, SVP of Production and Development.

“There are only a few truly scary and iconic characters within this genre, and we think The Bye Bye Man has the potential to be the next one. Trevor and Stacy will be great partners in bringing this fantastic and terrifying script to the screen,” said Signer.

“TWC-Dimension saw the potential in this project from very early on, and their enthusiasm makes them a great home for the movie,” said Macy.

Info on FX's "American Horror Story: Freak Show" has been coming in slowly but surely, and in Entertainment Weekly’s Fall TV Preview we learn a bit more about all the characters...

...especially John Carroll Lynch's "Twisty the Clown" and a very popular one who's returning from "Asylum."

Per EW, this season’s main villain is a nasty fella (and murderer) named Twisty the Clown, portrayed by Lynch, who has retired in Jupiter, Florida, and is not thrilled by the arrival of the freak show.

“He’s out to make their lives a living hell,” explained "AHS" exec producer Ryan Murphy. “He’s wearing a mask on the lower part of his face, and there comes a point in the season where he takes the mask off, and when you see what’s under, you will faint in terror.”

As for whom the previously announced Wes Bentley will be playing in this season's two-part Halloween episode, it's a character named Edward Mordrake. “He is a very famous horror myth,” revealed Murphy. “It was a man with two faces: a normal face and then a face on the back of his head that would whisper evil things and force the forward-facing entity to commit horrible crimes.”

Now that we know the bad guys, what else did EW reveal about the "Freak Show"? Here are a few highlights; for the rest be sure to hit the link at the bottom of the page.

First off, Murphy has confirmed that Naomi Grossman will be returning in the role of Pepper, who first appeared in Season 2, "AHS" Asylum."“She is in this [season],” Murphy told EW. Since "Freak Show" takes place in 1952, a good 12 years before the events of "Asylum," we'll learn, according to Murphy, “what happened to Pepper before she went to the asylum.”

With regard to Jessica Lange's character, former German cabaret star Elsa Mars, "[She] is very manipulative,” said Lange. “She understands what’s needed, and she provides it. However, the thing I want to be very clear [is] that Elsa really loves these people. She truly cares for them in her own selfish, narcissistic way. It’s not just exploitation.”

As for conjoined twins Bette and Dot (Sarah Paulson), they are two very different personalities sharing one body. “It’s not as simple as nice and evil,” Paulson teased. “It’s more complicated, in true Ryan Murphy style.”

Jimmy (Evan Peters) was born with lobster-like hands, and his mother is bearded lady Ethel (Kathy Bates), "Elsa’s right-hand woman [who] helps run the camp and [acts as] sort of the guardian of the law," according to Murphy. Jimmy's father and Ethel’s ex-husband, Dell Toledo (Michael Chiklis), is a strongman who’s on the run from the law. Dell’s new wife, Desiree Dupree (Angela Bassett), is a three-breasted performer, a role requiring Bassett to wear a prosthetic that covers her entire chest.

Emma Roberts and Denis O’Hare play a pair of con artists; Frances Conroy is a wealthy woman whose son (Finn Whitrock) wants to join the freak show; and Gabourey Sidibe portrays a socialite who returns home to Jupiter when her mother (Patti LaBelle) goes MIA.

Set for release next month, Annabelle is all about the origin story of the titular doll from The Conjuring, and on tap for you today is a new TV spot that plays up that fact. It's mostly just footage from the trailer but worth a watch nonetheless!

Capable of unspeakable evil, the actual doll exists locked up in an occult museum in Connecticut—visited only by a priest who blesses her twice a month. New Line's supernatural thriller Annabelle begins before the evil was unleashed.

Scheduled for release October 3, 2014, the film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment company.

Annabelle Wallis (X-Men: First Class) and Ward Horton (The Wolf of Wall Street) star. Oscar nominee Alfre Woodard (Cross Creek, Twelve Years a Slave) co-stars as Evelyn, who owns a bookstore and is familiar with the occult. Rounding out the cast are Kerry O’Malley (TV’s “Those Who Kill”) and Brian Howe (Devil’s Knot) as Sharon and Pete Higgins; Tony Amendola (TV’s “Once Upon A Time”) as Father Perez; and Eric Ladin (TV’s “Boardwalk Empire”) as Detective Clarkin.

Annabelle reunites the filmmakers behind 2013’s hugely successful supernatural thriller The Conjuring. James Wan, director of the global hit, is producing Annabelle with Peter Safran. John R. Leonetti, who served as cinematographer on The Conjuring, is directing. Gary Dauberman wrote the script. Richard Brener, Walter Hamada, Dave Neustadter, and Hans Ritter are the executive producers.
