Last night “Sleepy Hollow” returned from its holiday hiatus, and while there are still a lot of problems with this season so far (an angel? really?), here’s hoping Episode 2.13, “Pittura Infamante,” which doesn’t air until the 19th, can get things back on track.

One thing that appears to be back on track for sure is Ichabod and Katrina’s relationship; in the first image below they’re actually on a date! If you scroll a little lower, you’ll also get your first look at guest star Michelle Trachtenberg as Abigail Adams.

Remember when I was talking about how excited Matt is about Howling II: Your Sister Is a Werewolf finally coming to Blu-ray a bit earlier? Okay, well multiply that by a million, and you have my feelings about the following story.

Word has come across our desk that Coffin Joe himself, the great Jose Mojica Marins, is on board as one of the four directors of the upcoming Brazilian splatter anthology The Black Fables (or As Fabulas Negras for your purists). Even cooler? He will also star.

Joining Marins on the film are fellow directors Rodrigo Aragão (The Monster of the Sewage and Iara’s House), Petter Baiestorf (Fierce Pampas), and Joel Caetano (Bloody Blonde).

Hermann Pidner and Rodrigo Aragão are executive producing, and Mayra Alarcón and Kika Oliveira are the producers. Walderrama dos Santos, Tiago Ferri, Carol Aragão, Cesar Souza Coffin, Milena Bessa, Margareth Galvão, Mayra Alarcón, Dora Dadalto, and of course Coffin Joe star!

One show we definitely missed during the holidays is FX’s “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” and it finally returns tomorrow night. The network was a bit stingy in the photo department, releasing just a trio of stills from Episode 4.11, “Magical Thinking,” but they do feature guest star Neil Patrick Harris so at least we have that!

Look for the “AHS: Freak Show” mid-season return on Wednesday, January 7th.  Just three episodes remain!

“Eye Candy” centers on tech genius Lindy (Victoria Justice), who is persuaded by her roommate to begin online dating and begins to suspect that one of her mysterious suitors might be a deadly cyber stalker. When her friends at the elusive cyber-police uncover a potential serial killer in Manhattan, all signs point to one of Lindy’s dates. Teaming up with this band of hackers, Lindy works to solve the murders while unleashing her own style of justice on the streets of New York City.

The first casting news has arrived for the new film from Nicolas Winding Refn, entitled The Neon Demon, as The Wrap is reporting that the lovely Elle Fanning has signed on for demonic duty! Fanning will play an aspiring model who is caught in a world of beauty and demise.

Refn wrote the screenplay with new talent Mary Laws, described only as a horror tale with a young female-led cast.

The picture will be co-financed and co-distributed by France’s Gaumont and Wild Bunch, who were partnered on Refn’s 2013 pic Only God Forgives.

Refn says of The Neon Demon, “One morning I woke and realized I was both surrounded and dominated by women. Strangely, a sudden urge was planted in me to make a horror film about vicious beauty.”

Refn’s regular collaborators, editor Matthew Newman and composer Cliff Martinez, will be joined by The Grandmaster director of photography Philippe Le Sourd on the film. Refn’s partner, Lene Borglum, will produce under their Space Rocket banner.

Lionsgate has finally set a date for its upcoming flick The Voices, starring Ryan Reynolds and some talking animals! Look for it on VOD platforms and in select theatres on February 6th via Lionsgate.

Directed by Marjane Satrapi, the psychological thriller also stars Gemma Arterton, Anna Kendrick, and Jacki Weaver.

According to EW “Breaking Bad” star Mark Margolis has landed the role of DC Comics sorcerer Felix Faust in the 10th episode of the season, “Quid Pro Quo,” which airs on January 23rd. In it John investigates why thousands of people across Brooklyn have fallen into a mysterious coma, and Chas’ daughter is among them.

Sure, in reality the holiday season is indeed over, but in the world of horror movies it can be Xmas time all year round. Right now we have a look at the latest film to provide some yuletide terror, Body.

The flick will be playing at this year’s Slamdance Film Festival (January 23-29). Even cooler, Utah’s other big dance will be celebrating its 21st anniversary this year. The fest, which takes place at the Treasure Mountain Inn in Park City, will include 13 world premieres, two North American premieres, and three U.S. premieres including this one.

Dan Berk and Robert Olsen wrote and directed Body. Helen Rogers, Alexandra Turshen, Lauren Molina, and Larry Fessenden star.

Synopsis:
Best friends Holly, Cali, and Mel are home for the holidays. It’s a couple nights before Christmas, and the three girls are bored out of their minds, sitting at Mel’s parents’ house. As she is wont to do, Cali suggests they go out and have some fun. Her uncle owns a mansion one town over and happens to be out of town for the holiday. Better yet, he’s given her permission to party there. Despite Holly’s reservations, the girls head out.

It’s only after hours of partying and taking advantage of the home’s many amenities that the girls discover Cali has lied to them. This is not her uncle’s house. It belongs to a family that Cali used to babysit for. And it becomes quite clear that permission was certainly never granted to party there. Holly and Mel, infuriated with Cali, immediately head for the door. Unfortunately, before they can leave, the groundskeeper of the estate arrives. The girls attempt to flee but wind up running into him on their way out. An altercation follows, and in a freak accident the girls push him down the stairs. He falls awkwardly, breaking his neck and ultimately dying.

For the remainder of the film we watch the girls slowly unravel as they decide what to do about the dead body in the living room. But covering their tracks might mean adding to the body count…

The idea of losing one’s memory sounds like a completely awful idea. Still, I wouldn’t mind striking the Nightmare on Elm Street remake or that damned Twilight franchise from my memory for good. In any event, amnesia takes on some deadly consequences in the new flick Amnesiac.

XLrator Media has acquired North American distribution rights to the psychological thriller AMNESIAC starring Kate Bosworth (Still Alice, Superman Returns) and Wes Bentley (The Hunger Games series, Interstellar). XLrator Media will release the film in summer 2015 on its acclaimed “MACABRE” genre label.

AMNESIAC was directed by Michael Polish (Twin Falls Idaho, Big Sur) from a script by Mike Le and Amy Kolquist. The film was produced by Lucas Jarach and Jason Price.

Zak Bagans is a good friend and, truth be told, one of the most interesting and funniest guys that I know. It’s no wonder that he has amassed one hell of a following for his “Ghost Adventures” show and various other projects. Some quick casting news has come in for FX’s “The Strain.” Max Charles (American Sniper) has been cast as a regular on the series. He replaces Ben Hyland, who played Zach Goodweather in Season 1.

“It is a pleasure to welcome Max Charles (pictured below) to the cast,” “The Strain” executive producer/showrunner Carlton Cuse said in a statement to Deadline. “We recast this part due to some specific story needs we have downstream. We are sad to see Ben go. He is a very talented actor and a wonderful person. We will all miss him and thank him for his great work.”

According to the site the second season of “The Strain” features a deeply emotional storyline involving Zach’s character, and the producers looked for a young actor with a range that can accommodate that.

Season 1 Synopsis:
When a freak virus kills all but four passengers on an airplane at JFK, Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), head of the Center for Disease Control’s “Canary Team,” is immediately called to the scene. We hate stories like this as they’re never concrete until they’re concrete, but still, it’s great to dream, right? Some possible casting news for Kong: Skull Island has come in. Deadline is reporting that Michael Keaton is finalizing a deal to join the cast of the film.

Kong: King of Skull Island will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D by Universal Pictures on March 10, 2017.

In the spirit of its worldwide blockbuster Godzilla, Legendary Pictures presents a bold new take on the mythos of another iconic beast with Kong: Skull Island, which stars Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers and Thor series).

Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) and written by John Gatins (Flight) and Max Borenstein (Godzilla), Kong: Skull Island will fully immerse audiences in the mysterious and dangerous home of the king of the apes as a team of explorers ventures deep inside the treacherous, primordial island. Legendary’s story honors the foundations of existing King Kong lore but places it in an entirely new, distinct timeline.

Thomas Tull (Godzilla, The Dark Knight, Pacific Rim) and Jon Jashni (Godzilla, Warcraft) will produce, and Alex Garcia (Godzilla) will executive produce.

The one great big festering neon distraction known as L.A. is in for it once again as the apocalypse has come. Well, in film form anyways. Read on for your first look and details regarding L.A. Apocalypse.

LA Apocalypse, much like the city of Los Angeles, is outrageous, over-the-top, and utterly absurd, all the ingredients that make for a campy cult classic and a must be seen before the world ends. Sure, the scenario presented in LA Apocalypse may not be scientifically sound or even vaguely plausible – but stop thinking – and just enjoy the fun!

Synopsis:
