  • Exclusive Interview: The Loved Ones' Victoria Thaine on Good Girls and More!

In Sean Byrne's Australian darkly comedic horror flick The Loved Ones, we see what kind of hell gets unleashed when a "Daddy's Girl" named Lola doesn't get her way after she asks her fellow schoolmate Brent to the prom and he declines.

When Lola has Daddy (John Brampton) capture Brent for her own "special dance", it's up to Holly (Victoria Thaine) - Brent's girlfriend - to get to the bottom of things and rescue her boyfriend before Lola and her power drill go too far.

Over the weekend The Loved Ones finally hit limited US theaters courtesy of Paramount Pictures and Tugg, which allows fans to vote for screenings of the flick in their respective cities. In honor of the recent release, Dread Central had the chance to catch up with Thaine briefly to talk about her experiences working on The Loved Ones, the film's long journey Stateside, the potential for more dastardly fun with Lola and Daddy, as well as more on her future projects.

Exclusive Interview: The Loved Ones' Victoria Thaine on Good Girls and More!

Dread Central: What were your first impressions of this story when you initially read the script for The Loved Ones?

Victoria Thaine: I honestly didn't know what to think (laughs). It's really hard sometimes to read a script and get a feel for it, especially with The Loved Ones because there was a lot of screaming and stuff so it's hard to get a sense of the rhythm. I really had no idea what the final film would look like until I saw Sean's short film. That clinched the deal for me; I saw how he approached the story and how it wasn't like a lot of horror films out there, which caught my interest. I thought if someone like him was behind The Loved Ones, it could be great. And I was right!

Dread Central: Tell us about Holly and how she fits into this world.

Victoria Thaine: Well, Holly is Brent's girlfriend, and she is the all-around nice girl that has a maturity about her. She's very active about saving Brent from Lola, which I think is great; most times the girlfriend just sits around and waits, but not Holly. She does something about what's happening, and she's not afraid to take on Lola to get her man back either.

I really liked Holly because she wasn't the typical popular girl characters you usually see in these movies; she was actually nice and had character development as well, which was all due to Sean. He really knew how integral her character would be to this story so he focused on that a lot. I think Sean has a natural gift for these kinds of stories; he's got this amazing visual style, and all the characters and different horror elements are really well drawn so you actually care about the movie and what's happening onscreen.

Dread Central: The Loved Ones has had quite the journey before getting its Stateside release; how has this process been for you as a whole? Any thoughts on the Tugg initiative Paramount is using for the film's US release?

Victoria Thaine: It has been a few years, hasn't it? (laughs) But the entire thing has been amazing. When the film played at the 2009 Toronto Film Festival, it had such a great response from the fans, and just seeing how warmly the film was received was pretty amazing. I guess that's why we were all a bit disappointed that it didn't pick up distribution immediately, but I think that was more about the financial climate than anything.

I think Tugg is a pretty clever way to screen movies with your friends, and it definitely lends itself well to a movie like The Loved Ones. The business model for the industry is continually changing, which means so is the theatrical model. It's exciting, and I hope fans find our movie and really enjoy it.

Dread Central: Do you think there are any future plans to revisit these characters and the world of The Loved Ones anytime soon?

Victoria Thaine: Well, I haven't heard anything recent from Sean about it, but I do know that at one point he was quite interested in doing a prequel rather than a sequel because he created quite a detailed backstory for both Lola and Lola's father so I do think that if we do ever see anything more, it would be a prequel not a sequel.

Dread Central: And what are you working on now?

Victoria Thaine: I'm also a writer so right now I am working on a short film that I am shooting next month. It's called The Kingdom of Doug, and it follows a cult on the day they decide to commit mass suicide so it has some horror elements to it. It's set in an ice skating rink, too, which is kind of fun and weird; we are crowd-funding at the moment, and I'm hoping we get to start shooting at the end of next month. In an ideal world, it would hopefully get in to Sundance next year because I'd love to experience that.

NBC Has Found Mockingbird Lane's New Herman Munster and His Name Is... Jerry O'Connell?

    $

    0

Jerry O’Connell has been cast as Herman Munster in NBC’s “Mockingbird Lane”. Let me repeat that so it will fully sink in: Jerry O’Connell has been cast as Herman Munster. Nope, still hasn’t sunk in.

When word broke that Eddie Izzard had been cast as Grandpa Munster in NBC’s revisionist reboot of the classic 1960’s sitcom “The Munsters”, one could at least see him in the wig and make-up as the character.

But Jerry O’Connell as Frankenstein-ish Herman Munster? Jerry O’Connell? The fat kid from Stand By Me? The “Sliders” guy? The dude whose penis was eaten in Piranha 3D? The guy whose last three TV shows all got cancelled in less than a season? That Jerry O’Connell? I just don’t see it.

Hopefully the show’s re-creator Bryan Fuller (“Pushing Daisies”) and pilot director Bryan Singer (X-Men) have something truly fantastical in store for viewers of “Mockingbird Lane”, or else this NBC TV pilot is going to go down as one of the great unsung television train wrecks since… Well… Since last year’s catastrophic “Wonder Woman” revamp.

Deadline describes the pilot’s premise as follows:

O’Connell will play the family patriarch, the handsome and gangly Herman Munster, a great dad and a devoted husband. He is married to Lily, a vampire, with whom he has fathered a 10-year-old boy, Eddie (Mason Cook). Strong but sentimental, Herman works at a funeral home and worries that Eddie’s transformation into a werewolf and burgeoning awareness of his family’s origins will crush the boy’s spirit.

The mere fact that Herman Munster is now described as “handsome” pretty much tells everyone watching to throw out any preconceived notions of what they know about “The Munsters”. That still might be a problem given that no matter what they call this show, it's still a rebooting of “The Munsters”.

Some Guy Who Kills People Visits a Crime Scene

In the mood for a bit more chaos from the horror comedy Some Guy Who Kills People? Good! Then sit back, relax and check out this latest clip along with a gaggle of new stills. That's right a gaggle. Dig it!

    From the Press Release
Few films achieve the perfect balance of genuine sincerity, tastefully ironic humor, and the heightened level of blood and guts expected from horror movies. On July 3rd, Anchor Bay Entertainment brings you one of these rare gems with Some Guy Who Kills People. Executive produced by famed director John Landis (National Lampoon’s Animal House, An American Werewolf in London, Coming to America) and boasting impeccable performances by Kevin Corrigan (The Departed, Superbad, The Dictator), Barry Bostwick (The Rocky Horror Picture Show, TV’s “Spin City”), Karen Black (Five Easy Pieces, House of 1000 Corpses), Leo Fitzpatrick (Kids, Serendipity), Ariel Gade (AVPR: Aliens vs. Predator-Requiem, Dark Water), and Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead, TV’s “The Office”), this film festival favorite is coming to DVD for an SRP of $22.98.

At first glance, Ken Boyd (Corrigan) may seem like an average comic enthusiast, living with his mother and working to make ends meet as an underpaid, underappreciated ice cream parlor attendant. But Ken has a dirty little secret: He fantasizes about killing people. After being released from a stay in the loony bin for severe mental trauma suffered when he was beaten and tortured by a gang of high school thugs, Ken’s repressed anger suddenly reaches a boiling point. He begins to hunt down his tormentors, one by one, and exacts his bloody revenge - all the while forming an unconventional bond with his estranged 11-year-old daughter (Gade). The film is written by Ryan Levin (TV’s “Scrubs,” Disney Channel’s “I’m With the Band”) and directed by Jack Perez (La Cucaracha, Wild Things 2, Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus). Critics have plenty of praise for Some Guy Who Kills People’s off-beat charm, with Bloody Disgusting calling it “funny, bloody, really sweet… a welcome breath of fresh air” and Sound on Sight noting, “About halfway through Some Guy Who Kills People, I’d laughed my throat raw.”

    Special Features

  • Audio commentary by director / co-producer Jack Perez and writer / producer Ryan Levin

  • Stephen Rebello Shares Five Things You Never Knew About the Making of Psycho

    $

"It's not like my mother is a maniac or a raving thing. She just goes a little mad sometimes. We all go a little mad sometimes. Haven't you?" These are my absolute favorite movie lines of all time, and even though the source is decades old, we're still learning about it.

It's so powerful because as Norman Bates asks the question of Marion Crane (who happens to be sitting on $40,000 of regretfully stolen money), he's also asking it of the entire viewing audience ... and aren't we all forced to answer the same way as Marion did? "Yes. Sometimes just one time can be enough."

Psycho was not the first horror movie to scare the bejesus out of America. Certainly by 1960 scores of horror films had graced the silver screen. But Psycho was one of, if not the, first truly disturbing film. The one that dug into the American psyche and made us question what drove us to watch this nightmare, even as we couldn't tear our eyes away.

From iconic shots of the Bates house, hovering menacingly over the motel, to the discovery of Mother in the basement as Norman rushes in a moment too late, wig sitting askew atop his head, to the final chilling scene where Norman seems to have fully become his mother, Psycho is loaded with incredible scenes and images that have become legendary. Now, to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the film, we've got a special guest writer to fill you in on some Psycho info you might not have been privy to.

Stephen Rebello, the author of Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho and screenwriter of the motion picture adaptation of his book (the upcoming film for Fox Searchlight Pictures stars Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Scarlett Johannson, James D'Arcy, Jessica Biel, Toni Collette, Danny Huston, Michael Stuhlbarg, Ralph Macchio, and Michael Wincott…Wow!) is here to share Five Things You Never Knew About the Making of Psycho. Read on!

Five Things You Never Knew About the Making of Psycho by Stephen Rebello
Under contract with Paramount Pictures, director Alfred Hitchcock had made box office hits like Rear Window, To Catch a Thief, and The Man Who Knew Too Much. But when he pitched his idea for Psycho, the studio's executives were so shocked and repulsed that they denied him his usual generous budget and the use of their sound stages, cameras, and other production equipment. Instead, Hitchcock financed the film himself and shot Psycho at Universal, using his television crew. Paramount then released the film and won their biggest box-office profits of the year.

    1. Before Psycho, Hitchcock was famed for elegant Technicolor thrillers starring marquee actors such as Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, and James Stewart. With Psycho, Hitchcock tried something completely different. He shot the film in black-and-white and broke with convention by violently killing the film’s biggest star on-screen early in the movie. He also depicted the lead actress in what was then considered an unusually frank sexual relationship, showed and flushed a toilet on-screen for the first time in American movies, and dressed the lead actor in women's clothing in a chilling role.

    2. Although Janet Leigh appeared in most of the infamous shower sequence, Hitchcock hired Playboy cover model, exotic dancer, and sometimes actress Marli Renfro as Leigh’s body double. Both he and Leigh were shy about the near-nudity, and Hitchcock created extremely specific storyboards for filming the sequence so that he wouldn’t overexpose his star.

    3. Hitchcock decided against using Anthony Perkins in the shower scene, both to avoid tipping off the audience to the killer’s identity and to spare the actor potential embarrassment. Instead, he gave Perkins time off to rehearse for his upcoming Broadway musical.

    4. During filming and post-production, Hitchcock became convinced that Psycho would be such an embarrassing flop that he considered cutting out the most daring and shocking scenes and dialogue so that it could be played off as a one-hour Hitchcock TV show. The addition of Bernard Herrmann's brilliantly innovative score was a deciding factor in releasing the movie to theaters.

    5. Since Hitchcock believed that the twist ending of Psycho was its biggest asset, he tried to buy up as many copies of the original Robert Bloch novel as possible so that the public wouldn’t already know the plot. He also devised a promotional campaign that insisted no one would be allowed to enter the theater once the film had started and also asked audiences not to reveal the finale.

    BONUS:
Although Hitchcock’s special effects team devised a rubber female torso that spurted fake blood, the director rejected the prosthetic as crude and unsubtle.

A giveaway is coming soon at the Stephen Rebello Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho Facebook page. Stay tuned!

Savage, judging by the trailer, might be the most aptly named film to come along in quite a while. Take a look at this Irish psychological thriller and see if you don't agree!

Written and directed by Brendan Muldowney and starring Darren Healy and Nora-Jane Noone in a film that's already been compared to Taxi Driver, Savage looks to follow right in step with that Straw Dogs, man pushed too far motif. We're digging what we've seen so far.

Watch the trailer, and then check out the official Savage website and while you're at it, head over to the official Savage Facebook page and give them a like. This one looks like it has real potential to knock audiences on their asses!

    Synopsis
Paul Graynor, an alienated press photographer who lives and works in an unfriendly and threatening city, becomes victim to a serious crime. Finding himself the subject, rather than the purveyor, of an inner city tabloid story, Paul tries to come to terms with his attack, though the scars – both psychological and physical - prove impossible to heal. His only hope of recovering his tenderness is in his burgeoning relationship with Michelle, a nurse who he met through her caring for Paul’s once violent, but now infirm, father.

Savage is an exploration of violence and masculinity that studies, in forensic detail, Paul’s metamorphosis from victim to avenger. The debut feature from Brendan Muldowney is uncompromising in its portrait of the violent underbelly of city life in Ireland. Savage unfolds with a palpable sense of dread, leading to a devastating climax.

Dread Central Visits the Set of Chiller's Dead Souls

    $
    0
    0

Dread Central Visits the Set of Chiller's Dead SoulsRecently Dread Central was lucky enough to travel to the quiet town of Canterbury, Connecticut, to visit the set of the upcoming Chiller original production Dead Souls. The film, scheduled to hit the television airwaves in October, was directed by Colin Theys and boasts the one and only Bill Moseley amongst the impressive cast.

Upon arriving at the set, one thing was abundantly clear: The production team that sought to find a location to be used as a haunted house was incredibly effective. The abandoned farmhouse used in Dead Souls was incredibly creepy. Add to that the fact that a scraggly bearded Bill Moseley was sitting on a rock outside the barn as you walked up the driveway, and the creep factor of this place goes through the roof!

Moseley spoke on working with the Dead Souls cast and crew. "They really know their stuff," Moseley said. "I think Colin [Theys] is a really cool director. There are a lot of great young horror outfits just starting out in the business, having just done their second or third film…like rock bands that regionally play bars. It's cool to be part of a young production, knowing that they've got great places to go. They get their licks down and learn their chops, and who knows what they're going to come up with next."

Director Theys, who was also at the helm for Chiller's previous original production, Steve Niles' Remains, gave us his impression of the project. "Dead Souls is a great experience on set," Theys said. "It was fun to be able to shoot more of a classic horror film than we've done before at Synthetic Cinema International. Location factors so heavily into a haunted house film, and we really put a lot of time and effort into creating a setting that would help set the creepy tone I was trying to build."

In addition to Moseley, the cast featured Jesse James (The Amityville Horror, The Flyboys), Magda Apanowicz (The Butterfly Effect), Geraldine Hughes (Rocky Balboa, Gran Torino), Noah Fleiss (Brick) and Jaiden Kaine (Hellbenders). Theys talked about the players he was directing. "It was great to work with such a strong cast. All of our leads were talented, experienced performers with great attitudes, which made for an easygoing set and a collaborative attitude. Bill's character had a lot of explaining to do so it was important to find a skilled actor for the part to help keep those explanatory moments interesting. Everyone on set was excited to be working on the movie so when it inevitably came time for the blood to start flying, the cast was ready to roll in the dirt, jump on cars, get dragged across the floor, crucified, and generally have a good time."

The man responsible for making that blood fly was F/X artist Brian Spears (Stake Land, The Innkeepers). Spears talked about what type of effects were needed for Dead Souls. "Basically, it's a ghost story. I'm handling the ghosts. There's a little bit of gore. I guess tasteful gore. Nothing outlandish, but there's definitely some blood and gags," Spears said. "But my main priority and the reason I took the job are the ghosts. What's great about this film is Colin comes from a visual effects background so we're going to pool our strengths. On my end, I've definitely done more effects-heavy films; this is more character driven, but there's definitely enough gore for our fan base. It's there when it's needed. It's punctuation."

Dead Souls was adapted for the screen by John Doolan from a novel by Bram Stoker Award finalist Michael Laimo. Keep an eye on Chiller this fall to see the haunted tale.

    Synopsis
On his 18th birthday Johnny Petrie learns he was adopted when he inherits a farm in Maine, abandoned for the 18 years since his natural family died at the hands of his father, the local preacher. Eager for a new life, he leaves home to start over in his new dwelling. However, as he digs into his past, he soon uncovers the horrifying details of his father’s questionable teachings. E3 2012: Sony Finishes Strong

E3 2012: Sony Finishes StrongSony is the second of the "Big Three" to have their press briefings at E3 2012. Much like Microsoft before them, it was a little light on surprises, but they did bring the heat with several extremely impressive demos.

Here are some of the highlights:

  • Beyond: Two Souls
  • Heavy Rain developer, Quantic Dream, kicks off the show with a CGI presentation of their new game. Jody Holmes (voiced and performance captured by Ellen Page) is a girl that has always sensed that there’s more to the world than what we can see. The presentation begins with a police officer trying to get through to a seemingly catatonic Jody. He explains to her that he found her at the scene of an accident. After several minutes of trying to convince her that in order for him to be of any help she needs to open up to him, she still doesn’t respond. After more pushing Jody seems to get a little frustrated and she (or some unseen other force) telepathically throws a mug of coffee against the wall. This, understandably, frightens the cop, who proceeds to get out of that room as quickly as he can. As he’s on the way out, an entire SWAT team busts in through the front door of the police station with the intent of capturing Jody. This doesn’t go well for anyone. What followed was a quick montage of action clips that showed a helicopter crashing to the ground and what appeared to be Jody showcasing the ability to inhabit the bodies of the police officers.

While they didn’t go into what the actual gameplay would be like whatsoever, what they showed definitely left me intrigued to see more.

  • Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale
  • It’s very obvious where this game gets its inspiration from. Someone at Sony looked at Super Smash Brothers and said to himself, “We have some characters, let’s do one of those.” Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all. The gameplay involved building up a super meter to unleash special moves to eliminate your opponents. The characters they announced were Kratos ( God of War), Sweet Tooth (Twisted Metal), Fat Princess (Fat Princess) , Sly Cooper (Sly Cooper series), Nathan Drake (Uncharted) and the Big Daddy (Bioshock). They also announced a version for Playstation Vita as well as cross-compatibility between the two versions. It’s Super Smash Brothers with Playstation dudes.

  • Playstation Plus and Vita Talk
  • Next up were several rapid fire announcements about Playstation Plus and the Vita. They announced an expansion of the free titles available for the Plus service, including Infamous 2, Little Big Planet 2 and Saints Row 2. PS1 classics for Vita were up next, including Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy 7. Hulu Plus and Crackle are both coming to Vita, and Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified was announced as well. No details on that, however.

  • Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation
  • Exclusive to Vita is a side story to Assassin’s Creed 3 proper featuring a lady assassin. Not much was shown, but it looks like Assassin’s Creed 3 on the Vita. It will link with the PS3 version of Assassin’s Creed 3 to unlock new content. They also announced a bundle with a crystal white wi-fi Vita and 4gb memory card. Releases October 30th, 2012.

  • Assassin’s Creed 3
  • A lot has already been said about this game, but Sony had a little surprise up its sleeve for the show. Sneaking and stabbing will not be the only way to wage war against the Templars during the American Revolution. Get behind the wheel of a warship and get yourself into some full-on battles on the high seas. Dynamically shifting weather makes sailing and shooting unpredictable. The waves crashing against the sides of the ships look absolutely incredible. If I wasn’t already excited about this game, this puts it way over the top. They announced exclusive DLC for Playstation 3.

  • FarCry 3
  • Four-player co-op was the name of the game during this presentation. Players were tasked with grabbing explosives to blow up a bridge. It wasn’t made clear whether this was an option available on the entire open world map, but they did say that there was an entire co-pp campaign to play through. Once again, exclusive DLC on the Playstation 3.

  • Wonderbook
  • Next up was an extremely bizarre presentation for a new augmented reality game/book that uses the Playstation Move and Playstation Eye to use augmented reality to bring things inside a storybook to life. The first book/game published for Wonderbook is “The Book of Spells”, which takes place in the Harry Potter universe and is written in part by J.K. Rowling. The bulk of the…gameplay (?) consisted of reading a storybook to discover spells and the motions you need to make to cast them. If you’re into Harry Potter, this looks like it’ll be right up your alley.

  • God of War: Ascension
  • Kratos is still pissed, or since this is a prequel, he’s just starting to get pissed I guess? Lots of God of War stuff happening here. Slashing and stabbing with the signature blades. Some quicktime event finishing moves sprinkled around for good measure. There was a very interesting moment when Kratos was standing on a wooden dock that seconds later was destroyed by a giant sea monster. After pausing for a second, Kratos was able to use a new ability to rebuild the world around him and create platforms to reach a higher area. He was also able to use this ability to suspend enemies in the air for a moment to open them up for combos. Looks like more God of War. If that’s your thing, then you’ll feel right at home.

  • The Last of Us
  • Sony saved the best for last. Naughty Dog, of Uncharted fame, is behind this shocking and brutal look at the post-apocalypse. The demo started with a man and a young girl in an abandoned coffee shop looking for supplies. After moving on from there, they enter an abandoned hotel that’s occupied with hostiles. Moving silently, the man is able to take down one enemy before all hell broke loose. Ammunition seems extremely limited so you need to make every shot count. You’re able to switch seamlessly between a gun and melee. And believe me, the melee attacks are absolutely brutal. At one point the man’s pistol runs dry; this prompts his enemies to become more aggressive. After dispatching the initial wave of enemies, the man and girl have a moment to rest before more come.

This is the point where they showed off the very cool menu interface. Rather than just being able to pop in and out of a menu at any moment, you actually have to physically take your backpack off and choose things inside it. After grabbing a Molotov cocktail out of the backpack, the man uses it to dispatch the remaining enemies. The demo ends with the girl saving the man from the last attacker, and after a short scuffle the man ends up with the upper hand and the bad guy ends up with a shotgun blast to the face. Absolutely incredible. This is "game of the show" type stuff.

While it was kind of an underwhelming show overall, Sony ended up on an extremely strong note. Two down, one to go. What you got, Nintendo?

Auradrone Releases a Post-Apocalyptic Music Video for Shadow

Ready to take a break from all the E3 news that's been filling up our pages and relax with some new music? Then check out this post-apocalyptic music video for "Shadow," a song off Bleeding Edge, the sophomore album from horror actress Jon Mack's prog rock band Auradrone.

Mack (Mandrake, Saw VI, Spiders 3D) has teamed up with Robert LaSardo (The Professional, "Nip/Tuck") and Brian Krause (Camel Spiders, TBK: The Toolbox Murders 2, "Charmed") for this dystopian video about a struggle between alien hybrids and humans. It was written and directed by Dan Zacharias and produced by Zacharias and Mack.

A collective music and multi-media project led by Los Angeles artist Mack, Auradrone combines electronic sounds with live instrumentation, resulting in ultramodern post-rock dance music that is gritty, sensuous, and sophisticated. Bleeding Edge features the collaboration of Mack (vox, electronics, guitar), Strasbourg France’s Fred Traverso (electronics), and Christopher Fudurich (electronics, guitar) with additional contributions from musicians in Los Angeles and around the world. As one would expect in a band in which the artists met and primarily worked together online, the group’s songs are often remixed by DJs and musicians worldwide and have inspired cutting-edge video artwork created by artists all over the globe.

    Embrace your shadow. Transcend mediocrity.

Bleeding Edge is a love story which explores self-reliance, transcendence, and faith in the face of betrayal and entropy. Auradrone’s sound is inspired by groups as diverse as Nine Inch Nails, Massive Attack, Underworld, Curve, and Blondie.

Auradrone fans are clever, thoughtful people who love to mix their dance with a little aggression. The Auradrone project pools many talents and resources to create a hybrid of sound and vision for this new age so it’s fitting that our fans hail from every walk of music including electronica, goth, pop, progressive, post punk, and metal. With Bleeding Edge we are delving into a darker and dirtier industrial sound with songs that have a progressive bent,” says Mack.

Check out the video for "Shadow" and some photos below. For more visit the official Auradrone website, and "like" Auradrone on Facebook.

Robert Kurtzman Enters The Dungeon of Deadly Delights

Delamorte's Dungeon of Deadly DelightsHey there, Fiends! The sinister summer is upon us, and another excellent Dungeon show is in the can! Just wanted fans of the show to know a few things. The first involves the name of the show. When I began this venture, I placed my name on the show to get our names out there.

The truth is, though, everything we do belongs to ALL OF YOU. So, from this day forward, my name will be stripped from every title. We will be The Dungeon of Deadly Delights. It's your Dungeon. We do this for the fans. Second, I am in talks to make The Dungeon a television show! More on that when it becomes available.

So last week on the radio show, we spoke to my friend and show sponsor F/X legend Robert Kurtzman. Bob spoke about some history on certain films like Night of the Creeps and Phantasm 2. We also held a contest in which the winner won a Halloween mask straight off of Bob's new line. Congratulations to Tom Martino, a.k.a. Jebediah Morningside. Your knowledge of Wishmaster has garnered you some really sweet schwag!

Speaking of Wishmaster, we have a Wishmaster Retrospective scheduled for June 20th featuring Bob and the Djinn himself, Andrew Divoff! You don't want to miss it!

Lastly, I just want to thank JimmyO and April Burril of Chainsaw Sally and Forbidden Pictures for joining our ranks. Forbidden is now another incredible sponsor of the fear we bring! More thanks go out to my wonderfully wicked "Terror Team" of Amy Lynes, Thomas Surprenant, and Mary Agnew of 45 Grave. I absolutely love all of you, and you bring so much to the killing floor every week! Let's keep makin' magic happen!

That's it for now. Tune in next week when we speak to the great Bill Moseley! I'll scare ya later!

The Dungeon of Deadly Delights is brought to you by Forbidden Pictures as well as Creature Corps and the official Steph Sciullo website, along with Doug Bradley's Spine Chillers and clothing and apparel company Se7en Deadly.

Be sure to listen live every Sinister Saturday at 11:00 pm ET/8:00 pm PT on Jackalope 105.

Exclusive: Phantasm 5 a RealityYou read the headline. You have the same questions we all do. While at this point in time we cannot elaborate on many details, we can tell you this... the ball has definitely not stopped spinning, and there are wonderfully ghastly things on the way!

Before we get into details surrounding what we know, remember this - we rarely publish stories that are pure rumor, and if we do, we're very upfront about it. We would NOT tell you guys that Phantasm 5 is happening and happening soon unless we were at least 95% sure of the news. That being said...

We just got off the wire with our very own Rob Delamorte, who has been informed by an extremely reliable source that Phantasm 5 is fully scripted and will begin filming this year. You can expect to hear more about this one soon.

    Let the speculation begin.
