If you’re the type who likes to plan ahead, then you have a little over a year to get ready for A Quiet Place, which finds John Krasinski directing and co-starring with his wife, Emily Blunt, in their first feature film together.

Word has come out of CinemaCon, via Deadline, that Paramount has dated the film for April 13, 2018. Its competition so far includes an untitled Universal Monster movie.

Along with the aforementioned director/actor duties, Krasinksi is writing the Paramount/Platinum Dunes supernatural thriller, marking his third directorial effort and first for a major studio.

Michael Bay will produce along with his partners, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller of Platinum Dunes. Scott Beck and Bryan Woods wrote the earlier draft. Krasinski and his Sunday Night partner, Allyson Seeger, will serve as executive producers alongside Beck and Woods.

Other than the catch-all “supernatural thriller” tag, plot details are unknown. A Quiet Place goes into production this fall.

Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie Being Produced by Blumhouse

$

Nearly two years ago, it was announced that Warner Bros. picked up the rights to make a film based on the indie game sensation Five Nights at Freddy’s. The last we heard, the film was being directed by Gil Kenan (Monster House), written by Kenan with Tyler Burton Smith, and produced by Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith, and David Katzenberg. Since then, it’s been rather silent on the progress of the film.

Earlier today, however, FNAF creator Scott Cawthon sent out his first tweet, which was a rather interesting photo of a director’s chair with the word “Freddy” on it and in the background is the Blumhouse Productions logo. Looks like the company behind such titles as Insidious, The Purge, Paranormal Activity, and the like are getting into the haunted animatronic animal industry!

Personally speaking, I’m 100% okay with this. The games take place in a single-setting location, which is what Blumhouse thrives at offering. There really is no greater partnership that I can think of here.

But what are your thoughts? Are you excited for a FNAF movie? Do you think Blumhouse is a good production company for the film? Let us know in the comments!

Incoming Scott Adkins Movie Under Way

Scott Adkins is a bit of an anomaly. Had he burst on the scene during the heyday of the action movie hero, he’d likely be a legend right now mentioned in the same breath as Schwarzenegger or JCVD.

He’s a decent actor and an all-around badass. That’s why when he dabbles in our genre, we pay attention. Enter: Incoming.

From the Press Release:
Scott Adkins (Doctor Strange, The Expendables 2) is set to star in the new sci-fi action thriller INCOMING from prolific indie producers Benattar/Thomas Productions. Production is under way in Belgrade, Serbia.

XLrator Media will distribute the film in North America. Foreign sales will be handled by Premiere Entertainment Group. The film is financed by the UK’s Sharp House.

INCOMING marks the feature directorial debut of longtime Benattar/Thomas collaborator Eric “Z” Zaragoza and is written by Jorge Saralegui, based on an original story by Rick Benattar, Nigel Thomas, and Jorge Saralegui.

Producers are Rick Benattar and Nigel Thomas. Premiere’s Elias Axume also serves as producer, as does Milos Dukelic of Belgrade’s production service company, Red Production. Executive producers are XLrator Media’s Barry Gordon and Michael Radiloff and Sharp House’s Ian Sharp, Rebecca Joerin-Sharp, and Emma Dutton.

Scott Adkins’ deal was negotiated by Joe Hutton of London’s BWH Agency and Brett Norensberg at Gersh.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Scott on this exciting new project. It’s a science-fiction film but rooted in the realities of our world today. It explores familiar themes and looks at what could be our world in the not-too-distant future,” said producer Rick Benattar.

“We are excited to work with Scott Adkins again after our collaboration on CLOSE RANGE. He is one of the best action heroes and martial artists in the world today,” said XLrator Media CEO Barry Gordon.

Synopsis:
The International Space Station is now a prison — the ultimate black site. No one’s getting out. And no one knows it’s there. But when the imprisoned terrorists take over the Station and turn it into a missile aimed at Moscow, only a shuttle pilot and a rookie doctor can stop them. Their task is complicated by a rogue CIA agent (Adkins) who has his own plans for the station and the terrorists within.

Darren Aronofsky’s Newest Film mother! Is Supposedly a Horror/Thriller

Darren Aronofsky has no trouble creating films that are deeply unsettling. Pi and Requiem for a Dream both have a specific air of dread about them. Then there is Black Swan, the beautiful, yet frightening film that stunned audiences and grossed nearly $330 million worldwide on a budget of $13 million.

It seems that Aronofsky is keen on creating yet another horrific standout addition to our genre in the form of mother!, which was thought to be a drama but has revealed itself at CinemaCon and to The Wrap to be a horror/thriller, supposedly with a similar feel to Black Swan.

Synopsis:
A couple’s relationship is tested when uninvited guests come to their home.

The film is packed with celebrity names, being headlined by Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem, who will star with Ed Harris, Domnhall Gleeson, Kristen Wiig, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

mother! will hit theaters on October 13th, just in time to spook us all for Halloween!

From Paco Plaza, the director of the [REC] franchise, comes Veronica, a supernatural horror/possession film that follows a group of Catholic schoolgirls who play with a spirit board and suffer the consequences of having reached out to something they shouldn’t have.

Starring Ana Torrent, Leticia Dolera, Sonia Almarcha, Bruna González, and Carla Campra, Veronica claims to be based on a series of true events. It was reported by Variety earlier this year that the film would get a theatrical release next Fall, although I’m assuming they mean Fall of 2017 and not 2018.

Synopsis:
During a total eclipse of the sun, Veronica and two friends decide to make a ouija board to invoke her father’s spirit. After the glass shatters, Veronica enters a kind of trance and passes out, frightening her friends.
