Colombian Rockers Dante Releasing New Music Video Ghost Dog Streets Tomorrow

I’ve been a fan of Colombian rockers Dante for a while now. They’re not hard rock, they’re not metal, they’re something else. Imbuing their music with local flavors, they embrace horror as a means of storytelling, drawing from folks tales or crafting their own stories to haunt their listeners. They use this passion to craft fascinating music videos, such as the one for “Shagfoal” or “Swamp Thing.”

Tomorrow the band will be releasing another gory, yet fascinating video in the form of “Ghost Dog Streets.” The video is, according to the band, “…a dark tour around our hometown of Bogota showing everything that happens in the streets at night, all from the perspective of Hellhound.

Keep your eyes peeled because this sounds like something that will be right up this site’s alley! Meanwhile, to give you a taste of the video, we’ve got some images below that give off a very “grindhouse” feel!

If you want to follow Dante, you can do so through their website, Facebook, Twitter, Spotify, and/or YouTube.

The CW Announces Fall Premiere Dates for Supernatural and Riverdale

As we learned last month, The CW is moving “Riverdale” to Wednesday nights and teaming “Supernatural” with Arrow on Thursdays, but we didn’t know when they will be premiering. Today that changes…

Excerpts from the Press Release:
The CW Network announced its Fall 2017 premiere dates today, as the network’s entire primetime line-up will debut during the week of Monday, October 9.

“RIVERDALE” returns on its new night Wednesday, October 11 (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT), followed by the delicious high drama of the all new “DYNASTY” (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT).

On Thursday, October 12, “SUPERNATURAL” (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT) makes its Season 13 debut paired with “ARROW” (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT) on its brand new night.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2017
8:00-9:00 PM RIVERDALE (New Night)
The first season of RIVERDALE found our characters reeling from the tragic death of high school golden boy Jason Blossom. For many who had seen their home as perfect, safe, and innocent, the investigation into Jason’s murder peeled back the layers of their hometown to reveal a place bubbling over with secrets, mysteries, and scandals. Archie Andrews (KJ Apa), for instance, grew from a sweet, all-American kid into a young man acutely aware of the darker side of life—he broke his best friend’s heart, had a forbidden relationship with his music teacher, and grappled with whether he wanted to follow in his dad’s salt-of-the-earth footsteps. On the positive side, Archie repaired his friendship with Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse), found some success as a musician—thanks in part to Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray) and her band, the Pussycats—and found a new romantic interest in femme fatale Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes). New to town, Veronica spent the season trying to atone for her “bad girl” past, all the while wrestling with her beloved father’s criminal legacy—and contending with a mother, Hermione (Marisol Nichols), who might not be as innocent as she claimed. Veronica became fast-friends with Archie’s girl-next-door neighbor, Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart), who did some growing up of her own this season. After Archie’s rejection, Betty threw herself into running the school paper, “The Blue and Gold,” where she discovered a better romantic match in sardonic outsider Jughead. Together, they tracked down Betty’s sister, Polly (guest star Tiera Skovbye), who had been sent away by their overbearing mother Alice (Mädchen Amick). Under the guise of writing for the school paper, Betty and Jughead investigated Jason Blossom’s death—which led to them discover that Jughead’s father—FP Jones (guest star Skeet Ulrich)—was involved with covering up Jason’s murder. Meanwhile, Jason’s twin sister, Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch), ruled the school as Riverdale High’s venomous, merciless Red Queen—until she learned the true identity of Jason’s killer. As the town breathed a collective sigh of relief that Jason’s killer had been found out, another terrible crime occurred, in a space that had been considered one of the town’s safest, most innocent places. If Jason Blossom’s murder revealed the slimy underbelly beneath Riverdale’s surface, as we enter Season Two, the shooting of Fred Andrews threatens to plunge the entire town into utter darkness. Based on the characters from Archie Comics, RIVERDALE is from Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, in association with Berlanti Productions, with executive producers Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (“Supergirl,” “Glee”), Greg Berlanti (“Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”), Sarah Schechter (“Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”) and Jon Goldwater (Archie Comics).

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2017
8:00-9:00 PM SUPERNATURAL
The exciting journey of the Winchester brothers continues as SUPERNATURAL enters its thirteenth season. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) have encountered every kind of supernatural threat, facing down monsters, demons, and gods. Saving people, hunting things, and keeping the world safe. In the show’s twelfth season, the Winchesters were reunited with their long-dead mother, and joined forces with the British arm of the Men of Letters. But things turned from bad to worse, with the return of Lucifer and the surprising revelation that the Devil is expecting a child. Now, Sam and Dean find themselves facing a creature of almost unimaginable power… one that could save the world… or destroy it. SUPERNATURAL is from Warner Bros. Television in association with Wonderland Sound and Vision, with executive producers Robert Singer (“Midnight Caller”), Andrew Dabb and Phil Sgriccia.

Radiohead’s Thom Yorke Talks Scoring New Suspiria

We told you a few weeks back that that Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke would be composing the original score for Amazon Studio’s Suspiria remake. Recently BBC Radio 6 caught up with Yorke, who spoke a bit about this latest endeavor.

It’s absolutely terrifying,” said Yorke of scoring the film. “It’s a very different film [in comparison to the original]. There’s a few core pieces of it that I’ve been trying to piece together. It’s hard because I’m way out of my comfort zone, and I can’t read music so it’s not like I’m writing for orchestra. So I’m building it all myself. In fact, I watched Blade Runner twice at the weekend. ‘Oh, that sound, I could do something like that, that’s quite easy. I’ll rip that bit off there and that bit there, and I’ll be fine.’ No, not really.

Vangelis [composer of Blade Runner], it’s him. It’s his hands that made that,” Yorke said. “Which encouraged me. Because that was the thing I was finding most daunting. Normally a horror movie involves orchestras, these specific things. But Luca [Guadagnino], the director, and Walter [Fasano], the editor, are very much like, ‘Find your own path with it.’ They’re giving me as much freedom as they can. I just have to find a way into it. Which I am doing. It’s exciting.

Related Story: Mia Goth Talks Suspiria Remake and How it Will Shock Fans

Suspiria is written by David Kajganich, who adapts the “remake” from Argento and Daria Nicolodi’s original script, and directed by Luca Guadagnino.

Frenesy Film Company, Mythology Entertainment, First Sun Films, and Memo Films produce. Guadagnino, Brad Fischer, Kajganich, Francesco Melzi d’Eril, Marco Morabito, Gabriele Moratti, William Sherak, and Silvia Venturini Fendi are producers on the title while James Vanderbilt, Paul Deason, Massimiliano Violante, and Carlo Antonelli exec produce.

Amazon Studios picked up the project last year for worldwide distribution rights and is financing production.

Synopsis:
Suspiria is based on a young American ballet dancer who travels to a prestigious dance academy in Europe, only to discover it is something far more sinister and supernatural. She becomes increasingly terrified after a series of gruesome murders ensue and she slowly unravels the dark history of the academy.

The headquarters is full of relics and monster paraphernalia, including a severed hand of a Creature from the Black Lagoon in formaldehyde and a fanged vampire skull. There, Jekyll (Russell Crowe) loses control and turns into Mr. Hyde. As Hyde wails on Nick, Jenny tries to gain entrance into the room to assist him. A Prodigium employee who has seen Jekyll transform before attempts to stop her. The two scuffle, but eventually Jenny grabs a heavy book and knocks him on the head. There’s a brief, brief shot of the book — and it’s familiar. It’s the Book of the Dead from the ‘99 Mummy, complete with a star-shaped lock.

Neat!

Dark Sky Falls Over M.F.A.

The revenge thriller M.F.A. (review) has landed itself some distro in the form of Dark Sky Films, and in our estimation that’s a perfect home! Read on for details.

From the Press Release:
MPI Media Group announced today that it has acquired all rights in the U.S. to M.F.A., a critically acclaimed, powerful thriller starring Francesca Eastwood in a stand-out role. The film, from a female director and female screenwriter, takes on the searing current issue of sexual violence on campus. M.F.A will be released domestically this fall under the company’s Dark Sky Films banner.

The distribution agreement was negotiated by Nicola Goelzhaeuser, MPI’s VP of Digital and International Sales, and Ryan Kampe, President of New York-based worldwide film sales company Visit Films. The deal covers U.S. theatrical and digital rights.

Greg Newman, Executive Vice President of Dark Sky Films, said, “M.F.A. is a bold new film in which Francesca Eastwood gives an absolute break-out performance. We’re happy to continue our support of the growing body of work by visionary female filmmakers by bringing M.F.A. to US audiences.”

M.F.A., which was nominated for the Grand Jury Award at the 2017 SXSW festival, tells a gripping story of a young woman forced to take action to protect herself in “perhaps the bravest, rawest rape-revenge thriller yet” (No Film School). Noelle (Francesca Eastwood; Final Girl, Outlaws and Angels), an art student struggling to find her voice, is sexually assaulted by a fellow classmate. Attempting to cope with her trauma, she impulsively confronts her attacker, leading to a violent altercation that culminates in his accidental death.

Noelle tries to return to normalcy, but when she discovers she is only one of many silenced sexual assault survivors on campus, she takes justice into her own hands. A vigilante is born – retribution is the inspiration she’s been waiting for.

M.F.A. was directed by Natalia Leite (Bare) from a debut screenplay by actress Leah McKendrick (Bad Moms). McKendrick also co-stars in the film along with Clifton Collins, Jr. (“Westworld,” Knight of Cups).

Francesca Eastwood has been singled out for extraordinary praise. Kate Erbland of IndieWire said, “Eastwood harnesses the kind of tenacity she’s previously displayed … adding rich emotional layers to a demanding role.” “Francesca Eastwood gives a stirring, sterling performance, transforming from a wallflower into a dynamic powerhouse,” wrote Peter Martin at Screen Anarchy. “Eastwood’s performance is something out of this world,” said Dread Central’s Jonathan Barkan.

The film received glowing reviews upon its world premiere at SXSW. Variety’s Andrew Barker said, “An unapologetically feminist, female-centric take on the oft-problematic (and oft-male-gaze-dominated) rape-revenge thriller genre … Leite directs with a bracing, assertive style.” Brad Miska of Bloody Disgusting called it “intensely engaging, thought-provoking, and also mesmerizing.” “Spectacular, risky and wonderfully realized by Natalia Leite,” said We Live Entertainment’s Nick Casaletto.

David Harbour Talks Hellboy; Film to Begin Shooting in September

The new Big Red himself, David Harbour, recently sat down with The Wrap to talk about his upcoming gig in Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen. Read on for the scoop!

We’re supposed to go in September, I hope,” Harbour said. “It’s good. It’s a whole new thing. I’d always been a fan of the comics and there’s a darker tone to it and I think in the climate we have now there’s kind of a darker… a desire for more of that… the script is good and this guy Neil Marshall is directing who’s really good and the aesthetic is great.

It’s a character that I love, and sort of in the way, I think Mike [Mignola] and a bunch of other people saw me in ‘Stranger Things’ and wanted me to play Hellboy and I think he has some parallels to him. I think he’s another complicated anti-hero who is not strictly good or bad; he’s just trying to do the right thing. I think he’s a demon, he’s crazy, and he’s also sweet and vulnerable and neurotic so there’s a lot of complexity there.

Rights to the film sold big at Cannes. The new Hellboy project emerged a few weeks ago with Mike Mignola, who created the original Hellboy comic, breaking the news on Facebook.

Look for more soon.

The Mummy – Annabelle Wallis Interview

When we first met Annabelle Wallis, she was starring in – appropriately enough – Annabelle, the first spinoff from The Conjuring universe. She is in another new horror universe, Universal’s Dark Universe, which is set to explore the lives, deaths and un-deaths of Dracula, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Invisible Man, Frankenstein’s monsters, and of course, The Mummy (review).

Wallis plays the plucky prehistorian in The Mummy, and while Jenny is an archetypical archeologist – determined, smart, and deeply dedicated to solving history’s mysteries – she’s also got a little something of the actress’s own innate traits. “I knew I could only be me and that I could only present myself in a room as I do in everyday life, which is competent, and so they kind of got inspired by my gumption and my passion,” Wallis told us. “I wanted to be part of it, and I had all these ideas. Then, naturally Tom and I had such a fun rapport, so it just worked out. It was a no-brainer.”

Nick Morton (TOM CRUISE) and Jenny Halsey (ANNABELLE WALLIS) in a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: “The Mummy.” From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, “The Mummy” brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

We wondered how she first heard about the role and what made her want to take it. “I was just so excited at the possibilities in unraveling this Dark Universe, and that was part of it. I’d heard about the franchise first, and then when they told me The Mummy was going to be the first one I was excited. Then later on, they said there was going to be this archeologist and that Tom Cruise was onboard – and so it was the combination of so many different strong components that got me very excited.”

Not to mention being able to work with Tom Cruise as an equal, with almost as much face-time. Cruise plays a rakish tomb raider in the movie, and the two share a lot of important scenes together. We’ve always heard great things from his costars, and Wallis is no exception. “Tom is so old-school in that he loves rehearsals, and he loves camera tests for tone, for lighting. All of that adds to the performance. He’s so methodical in the process. I just found that to be so incredibly generous, because a lot of people at the level don’t have time to support a large cast and yet he’s so generous that way. He loves to just play. So, we’d do full days of rehearsals trying to find beats and so his drive is just infectious. And his love for cinema is one that you can’t help but learn from every day. I learned that in order to have that career, you have to be that passionate, be that driven, and to know your audience and give them what they want. It was wonderful to observe him in that space.”

When it comes to the tone of The Mummy, Wallis says, “It was important to pay homage to the classic monster films. Also, we watched all of Hitchcock’s catalogue and The Shining, and An American Werewolf in London. So we tried to keep our tone and our lighting and everything to inspire a horror audience. And we wanted to break it up with levity. So another reference was Romancing the Stone. We didn’t want to go too deep into horror. We wanted to celebrate the fact it’s a big adventure film and have those kind of campier moments. Sofia in her presence, and what she brings to that creature with just her movement, I think audiences are going to go in thinking one thing and then come out thinking completely others. I’m intrigued to know what the people think when it comes out.”

Wallis says she’s a fan of the legacy of films, and also the historical aspects of it all. “I remember watching the first Mummy movie, but also there’s the history. This idea that we have these different dynasties, and the way that they’re buried, rituals, and just the whole system that they lived by doesn’t exist anymore. It so fascinating. The pyramid-building… I mean, just the physical idea of that is so alluring. When I was growing up, I was so fortunate to be able to travel so much. I got to go to all these amazing places and see the ruins of the ancient civilizations and be around prehistoric artifacts. I’ve always been fascinated and so doing a film like this [is great].” She adds that the cast was immersed in the experience of their characters, in order to lend a foundation of believability. “We had an Egyptologist on set, we took a field trip to the Natural History Museum and looked through their archive of mummies, and all the stuff they have unearthed over years. It so immersive and so wonderful to have access to stuff you would never otherwise see. There’s real truth here, in the possibility of unearthing something dark.”

Since Jenny survives the film – barely! – we asked Wallis about the possibility of her returning for more adventures. “There are still a lot of unanswered questions about Jenny,” she said. “Why is she there? Who is she, really? I would love to return to this world.”

The Mummy – Exclusive Interview With Director Alex Kurtzman

Although The Mummy (review) is only Alex Kurtzman’s second feature film directing credit, he’s credited with writing some pretty huge blockbusters (Star Trek Into Darkness, The Amazing Spider-Man, and the list goes on) so he’s savvy on entertainment for the masses. And the masses have been looking forward to this particular Mummy reboot for some time now. We got the chance to chat with Kurtzman on how it feels to finally have all that expectation come to fruition, what it was like to have a hand in creating Universal’s Dark Universe franchise, and of course, directing megastar Tom Cruise.

Dread Central: It must be quite something to have this legendary canon as part of your resume. Was it at all intimidating?

Alex Kurtzman: It is but at the same time, I feel the way [most people] do about it. I’ve loved them since I was a kid and I just think it’s a special and unique world. The idea of getting to play in that world and to bring it to a modern audience, while honoring the classic, was too good to pass up, as much as it terrified me and I didn’t want to mess it up.

DC: How did you find that balance?

AK: I think for me, part of why I love them so much is that there is this amazing kind of mix of feelings that you have for those classic films – forget about the beauty of the filmmaking and the incredible actors that played the parts. To me the universe is defined by being scared by the monster and feeling tremendous sympathy for the monster. I thought to be able to make a big studio film, that had all the requirements of that, but to do it in a way where the assumption is that the character is broken and there is no expectation that the character can get fixed. Because if they get fixed they’re not a monster anymore. That is really cool and different and just an exciting arena to play in. I’m a huge fan of horror and I basically gobble up any horror movie, the wonderful and the terrible ones. I just want to watch it. I think the tricky thing is that horror is often very small and that’s what makes it great, so figuring out how to use that with scope and scale was kind of a new challenge. I like that challenge and I think it’s just a matter of knowing when you’re secure in the balance of filmmaking, so that you can actually deliver big adventure, but when you make the segue into horror, it feels like it is part of a whole, connected, unlike two things colliding into each other.

(L to R) TOM CRUISE as Nick Morton and director/producer ALEX KURTZMAN on the set of “The Mummy,” a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization. From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, “The Mummy” brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

DC: Your villain, the Mummy herself, has double-irises. They did that on “The Exorcist” TV show, and I think some other movies as well. What’s the story behind this look in your case?

AK: I’ve never seen that; did they do that on “Exorcist” the television show? I read an interesting article that said it represented the evil eye, and I was looking for something different and original. We’ve seen so many eye things in horror movies. You see contacts, dark pupils, no pupils, red eyes, all that stuff, and I just wanted the idea of that and because it has story value to connect it.

DC: What about An American Werewolf in London? I felt like a saw an homage or two there, as well.

AK: Absolutely. American Werewolf in London is one of my favorite films. What I love about it is its absolutely seamless connection between humor and horror and the way they work together so beautifully. I think American Werewolf perfectly understands the rules of a werewolf movie, kind of plays with them and re-invents them in a modern context. It’s clearly a movie that was done with so much love and reverence, so it’s one of my all-time favorite films.

DC: Of course, CGI is unavoidable on a big picture like this, but is some practical as well?

AK: Yes, we wanted to as much practical effects as we could do and use CGI to augment as opposed to being the driving force behind the filmmaking, back to an almost low-fi approach to the film. These are classic films and I think to bring a classic sensibility and marry that with something modern was critical for me. In the case of the underwater sequence, we could have done all those mummies as CGI characters but you would have felt it, so we spent about six months working with incredibly brilliant dancers developing movement and strange kind of odd, weird movements. Once we got the movement down we ended up removing the hand and the head, so what you’re looking at, replacing those with CGI, is real moving bodies which is why it feels so real. And then with the head and hand replacement, you can create a world where you can’t really tell the difference because the human eye, it’s very hard to trick it, so the hardest part would be to actually build the movement in CGI. You would have felt something wasn’t quite right about it, so it was all about keeping it as grounded as we could.

DC: We know you wrote one of the Mission Impossible movies, and that you know Tom Cruise. How was it actually directing him and collaborating with him?

AK: I’ve worked with him now for almost ten years. We love to create an experience on film where you can get completly involved in the experience and forget you’re watching a film. That’s always the goal, and I think the best way to do that is, like I said, to do it practically. He’s worked with the greatest directors in the world, and this is only my second film so I had a lot to learn. I feel like I inherited his wisdom in the form of all the other directors he’s worked with. He’s an open book, so how did Kubrick do this or how did Scorsese to that or how did Oliver Stone do this? We talked through all those things and he was an amazing teacher, in a way. He puts his trust in you completely, he makes a handshake agreement with you and he says, ‘I will do what you ask of me’ and there was never a single moment where I asked him to do something and he didn’t want to do it. He’s an actor who is happiest when he’s being directed, and he loves that. It was a wonderful partnership there and to inherit the benefit of all of that was a gift and I think a gift for any director.

DC: He looks the part.

AK: You know it’s interesting, I don’t know that I look at actors and think ‘You would be the perfect x or y.’ I think it’s more about saying whenever you play a part I realize that you chameleon right in to whoever you’re playing, and I forget that you’re the actor playing the part. When you have actors who are that talented like [Michael] Fassbender, who just dissolves completely into the experience and the character we forget who he is and honestly, you could probably take your pick and he could make it work. I think the other thing for me is that for an actor, you want to tailor a part to their strength, it’s not like ‘OK, now we’ll cast Michael Fassbender,’ just randomly say as The Wolfman, ‘let’s make sure he does the script,’ it’s more like how do you harness the spirit of that actor and what they see and feel, than adjust the character to make that work so then one becomes the other… does that make sense?

DC: Annabelle Wallis is well-cast as the archeologist. What did she bring to the table, for you as the director?

AK: I had seen Annabelle’s work in “Peaky Blinders” and thought she was fantastic. Obviously she has tremendous range and weight, and at the same time I think part of the swashbuckling element is the humor in there. When I first met Annabelle and she walked into the room she just brought this light. Often as a director you’re not looking at how the actor delivers the lines, although obviously that’s important, you’re looking for what they do between the lines and who they are. In the same way I just said I want to take the actor and help them become the part and vice versa, you’re looking at who this person is who just walked in. She has this incredibly natural charm that reminded me of a screwball comedy, actually. She’s a goofball, and I thought what an interesting thing to be able to marry her strength with her humor. It’s not something I see very often and I think harkens back to some of my favorite films, my favorite classic actresses. I love that about Annabelle. She’s just a delight to work with and she really is tireless. Between the pace and the physical demands of the film, she never ever complained, she just dove in. I adore her, and I adore working with her.

DC: How does Russell Crowe fit in, as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?

AK: There was a lot of conversation and debate early in the process about bringing Jekyll into a Mummy movie, because it’s not necessarily an intuitive idea. We were constantly asking ourselves: how do we deliver something new to the table? What we wanted to do was obviously give you a satisfying Mummy movie experience on its own terms which would open the door to the Dark Universe and plant seeds and not be overwhelming; we thought that would be the way to go. What you don’t want to do is smash characters together, or just have them together. I tend to react negatively to that. I can’t imagine what it would be like for an audience member sitting in a theater, so there was a lot of debate about whether or not to put him in the film. Once we came to the idea that part of the storytelling would be about the fact that the Mummy was in a larger world of gods and monsters, it became very clear that we were going to need somebody to help us understand that. You’d like that person to have their own relationship with good and evil and obviously there’s an almost medical side to this now, because in the modern world we’ve been interpreting monsters medically and in science, so you begin to describe Dr. Jekyll. But even more than that, he acts as a mirror to Nick’s character. Dr. Jekyll has been where Nick is going, he has good and evil inside of him and the minute you can justify it in story terms – say not only is he here to guide Nick through all the gods and monsters, but it acts to echo his character, now you have a very strong lead-in to have him in the film. So that excited me, and once we made that connection it felt like an organic way to go. Absolutely, he will be back in many of the monster films. The idea of this organization that has been researching and hunting and protecting and destroying, depending on the monster, [makes sense]. The idea that Jekyll will come in throughout many of the films to help guide some of the characters through the experience in the world they are suffering in, for sure, we’d love to bring him back.

DC: We saw a few “Easter Eggs” sprinkled throughout the film. How did you decide where they would go and which ones to use?

AK: Well, the trick with “Easter Eggs” is you want them to land at the right moment in the right way, otherwise fans will reject them. I remember when we were doing Star Trek, there are obviously classic Trek lines that you are just waiting for and the trick is to figure out how to deliver them in an unexpected way but in a very organic one. You just want to decorate all the scenes with the goodies from the monster universe but the idea that we experience them through Tom’s point of view as he enters into this world felt like the right place to do it, so that is where we began.

DC: In our press screening a lot of people waited throughout the credits – which were so long! – to get that teaser at the end. But there was none. How come?

AK: It’s funny you ask that, and many people have. It was a conscious choice. I feel like Marvel has kind of taken that domain, it’s kind of a staple of Marvel films, and I did not want to take that from them, to have it feel like we were copying anything. At the same time, just by the virtue of you asking that question, other people asking the question, I feel like people want it so it’s something that I’ll reconsider when we do the next one.
