FEARnet's "Reaper" reunion special is officially in the can, and we have all the details concerning when you'll be able to reunite with all your favorite stars for a night of devilish hijinx on the genre's quickest growing horror channel!

FEARnet’s "REAPER" reunion special was shot on Wednesday, April 24, at the Medusa Lounge in Los Angeles. In attendance for the special—hosted by TV and web personality Angie Greenup—were series stars Ray Wise, Tyler Labine and Bret Harrison as well as Rick Gonzalez, Ken Marino, Christine Willes and series creators Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas.

The reunion special will air on Tuesday, May 28, setting the stage for "REAPER"’s FEARnet debut on Tuesday, June 4, at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, as part of the Network’s Twisted Comedy block, which also features the FEARnet original half-hour comedy series "HOLLISTON." Additionally, the special will be available for viewing on the FEARnet website starting Friday, May 31st, and VOD on Saturday, June 1st. It will air again on the Network on Tuesday, June 4, at 8:30 p.m. ET. FEARnet has licensed both seasons of the hour-long series, for a complete 31 episode order.

Four years later, the wildly popular cult hit still enjoys a rabid fanbase—many of whom feel the series was cancelled much too soon. These same fans will be delighted to see their favorite stars brought together, once again, as the amiable cast openly discusses many behind-the-scenes anecdotes and stories from their time on set. The cast’s favorite memories—such as Sock’s lusty encounter with Gladys; the creators’ insider info that comedic icon Louis C.K. originally auditioned for the part of the Devil; and whether or not the team would be open to a Kickstarter campaign to resurrect "REAPER"—are just a few of the things fans can expect to glean from the special.

“I’m so happy that FEARnet is doing this,” said Ray Wise, who played the Devil on "REAPER."“It really warms my heart having us all back together again.”

The quirky series focuses on the life of Sam Oliver (Harrison), a college drop-out who, on his 21st birthday, learns that he now must work as a bounty hunter for the Devil (Wise), as part of a deal made many years ago when Sam’s parents offered up their firstborn son in exchange for good health for the ailing father. Tyler Labine (TUCKER & DALE VS. EVIL) and Rick Gonzalez (COACH CARTER) play Sam’s slacker friends who help him in his new secret double-life of ‘reaping’ souls, using a Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner, as well as other modern household items.

"REAPER" is a production of ABC Studios and the Mark Gordon Company. Metallica will release their 3D film, Metallica Through the Never, in a limited IMAX engagement on September 27th, followed by an expanded release on October 4th.

System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian will release two solo albums this summer via his own Serjical Strike Records. Orca, his "first true symphony," will be released on June 25th, and his collaborative jazz-infused album, Jazz-iz Christ, will be released on July 23th.

Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan and drummer Mike Wengren have a new side project called Fight or Flight. Their debut album, A Life by Design?, is due out on July 23rd via Warner Bros. Records.

I feel like we've been talking about a Gears of War movie for like forever now. It has to be a couple of years, right? Well, for the faithful out there still waving the flag, we have some slight movement to report.

According to Variety, Scott Stuber is coming on to produce and begin developing the script with the video game’s creator, Epic Games. The project has yet to attach talent, writer, or distributor, although Stuber does have a first look deal with Universal. Both parties will begin taking it out to studios.

New Line picked up the rights to make a Gears of War movie in 2007, tasking Stuart Beattie to adapt the script and Len Wiseman to direct. When creative differences between the studio and Epic could not be reconciled, New Line let the property go, and it has since been looking for a new home.

The video game's story is set on the planet Sera and follows a former P.O.W. who is civilization’s best hope in the fight against the Locust Horde, a race of creatures who emerged from beneath the planet’s surface and are intent on eliminating humankind.

We let you know a while back that XLrator Media was going to be giving American Mary a limited theatrical run on May 31, 2013, and now we have additional info for you concerning the whens and the wheres.

The flick, available on VOD on May 16th, will be opening in Los Angeles, New York, Austin, Chicago, and San Diego on May 31st. Written and directed by the Soska Sisters, American Mary stars Katharine Isabelle, Antonio Cupo, Tristan Risk, David Lovgren, Paula Lindberg, Clay St. Thomas, John Emmet Tracy, and Twan Holliday.

Synopsis
This metaphor for the Soskas' own journey through the independent film industry follows medical student Mary Mason as she becomes increasingly broke and disenchanted. A truly fresh face has signed on to the MGM meta redux of The Town that Dreaded Sundown, and we hope that said face eventually gets removed by some form of sharp implement. In just the movie of course. We're not that sick in the head. Then again...

According to THR newcomer Travis Tope has booked the male lead opposite Addison Timlin in MGM’s The Town That Dreaded Sundown.

Timlin plays Jami, a girl who survives a copycat massacre at the film’s annual tribute screening and sets out to solve the mystery of who’s recreating the unsolved Sackhead murders, using clues from her own past. Tope will play a classmate who befriends Timlin’s character and decides to make a documentary about the search for the killer. The flick begins shooting in May in Louisiana.

"American Horror Story" director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon will direct the remake of the 1976 Charles B. Pierce horror classic with Ryan Murphy and Jason Blum producing.

The original movie was based on five unsolved murders attributed to the Phantom Killer during three months in 1946 in and around the city of Texarkana on the border between Texas and Arkansas. Pierce shot large parts of the movie in and around Texarkana with extras recruited from local residents.

Oblivion starring Tom Cruise and Olga Kurylenko is playing now at a theatre near you. In case you didn't know, it's been said that it pretty much sucks. Now Kurylenko is set to star in a new flick that will suck in a good and literal way - Vampire Academy!

According to Deadline, Kurylenko is set to star as Kirova, the headmistress of Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters, the screen adaptation of the six-volume Richelle Mead young adult novel series that Mark Waters is directing from a script by Daniel Waters.

She joins the previously announced Zoey Deutch (Beautiful Creatures) and Australian newcomer Lucy Fry. They will play lead characters Rose and Lissa alongside Russian star Danila Kozlovski (We Are from the Future), who will play the role of Dimitri.

Blood Sisters: Vampire Academy will be produced by Michael Preger and his Preger Entertainment banner, Angry Films’ Don Murphy and Susan Montford, and Kintop Pictures’ Deepak Nayer. IM Global’s Stuart Ford is executive producer.

More casting rumors abound for the lead role in F. Javier Gutierrez's remake of The Crow. Turns out the previously reported Tom Hiddleston has flown the coop, and now Relativity Media is circling "True Blood"'s Alexander Skarsgard to rise from the grave for vengeance.

We'll just file this one under rumor for now because nothing is official. It's amazing the devil of a time the powers-that-be are having in terms of nailing down a star. Could Hollywood's best and brightest be afraid of the long talked about Curse of The Crow? Who knows. When we know more, you'll know more.

If signed, Skarsgard will play Eric Draven in the story based on the James O'Barr comic book series that was previously adapted as a 1994 Miramax movie starring Brandon Lee. In case you're one of the ten people on the planet who haven't seen the original, it follows a man who returns from beyond the grave to avenge his death.

Ed Pressman of Pressman Film and Kevin Misher of Misher Films are producing with Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanaugh and Jeff Most. Dan Farah of Farah Films will executive produce with Relativity's Tucker Tooley.

Directed by James DeMonaco (writer of Assault on Precinct 13 and The Negotiator), The Purge is produced by Jason Blum of Blumhouse (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Sinister) and Platinum Dunes partners Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form (The Amityville Horror, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) as well as Sébastien Kurt Lemercier (Assault on Precinct 13). It stars Ethan Hawke, Lena Headey, and Adelaide Kane.

Look for it in theatres on June 7th.

Synopsis
In an America wracked by crime, the government has sanctioned an annual 12-hour period in which any and all criminal activity—including murder—is legal. The police can’t be called. Hospitals suspend help. It is one night when the citizenry regulates itself without thought of punishment. On this night plagued by violence and an epidemic of crime, one family wrestles with the decision of who they will become when a stranger comes knocking.

While doing press for his latest film, The Lords of Salem, rocker turned filmmaker Rob Zombie spoke to The Playlist and took a look back at two of his most controversial films and lent some insight into one that never happened.

It's no secret that when it comes to his Halloween movies, people either liked them or they didn't. “I really like those films," said Zombie of his two excursions into the land of Michael Myers. "I didn’t have a good time making them. It was actually a kind of miserable experience. Any time they vary from the format is when I really like them.” Yeah, Rob, we hear ya. Luckily for you, you were a lot less miserable than some of us who sat through them. Hell, I'm still not sure what I think of Halloween II.

During the period when he was making his Halloween movies, word broke that Zombie was interested in remaking The Blob. That never happened, but the filmmaker did have a kind of interesting slant he wanted to put on his version of it should it have happened.

“There are so many projects that don’t happen, just sometimes they don’t get announced so no one ever knows about them and you don’t have to talk about them. The Blob was going to happen. I was dealing with people on the movie, even though I was on the fence about doing anything that was considered a remake again. I really didn’t like the idea of that, but just as I went down the road further with the producers and the guys that owned the property, I didn’t feel good about the situation, and I just walked away from it. My gut told me this was not a good place to be… It was dead serious. It was almost like a dark science fiction film, but it was serious. To me horror and comedy never work. Never worked for me, anyway.”

There's an old saying - If I knew then, what I know now... Ever wonder what would happen if you could warn yourself not to do things before you do them? Would you even listen to future you? That's the question posed by the new project from 20th Century Fox called Capsule.

According to THR, 20th Century Fox has picked up Capsule, a sci-fi spec by Ian Shorr (Splinter) that has Matthias Hoene (Cockneys vs Zombies) attached to direct. Hutch Parker and John Zaozirny are attached to produce with Parker producing through his Hutch Parker Entertainment banner.

Based on an original story by Hoene, Capsule centers on a young man whose life is turned upside down when he mysteriously begins to receive metallic capsules containing messages from his future self.



Steve Asbell will oversee the project for the studio. Aaron Ensweiler will shepherd the project for Hutch Parker Entertainment.
