Alrighty, kids, time to add a little sticky to your morning with a slew of images from the upcoming Mike Mendez flick Big Ass Spider!, which feature one hell of a... well... big ass spider. Check out a glimpse of the chaos to come right here!

Battling the beast are Greg Grunberg ("Heroes", "Alias") and Lombardo Boyar ("The Bernie Mac Show"), who star as Alex, an exterminator, and Jose, his security guard sidekick, respectively. The unlikely heroes team up with an elite military unit that includes genre vets Clare Kramer (The Gravedancers) and Ray Wise (X-Men: First Class, "Twin Peaks").

Mendez explains what drew him to the project: "The script was hilarious, and as we got into the creature design and the casting, we had one objective in mind: fun! I love the tone of this movie and think audiences are going to have a wild time.”

Synopsis
Surviving extermination by nuclear eradication, a horrible alien mutation in arachnid form is now growing at an exponential rate and making its way toward downtown Los Angeles. Hot on its spindly heels is a crack military unit with absolute authority, led by an obsessively driven commander and his beautiful but lethal sidekick. Judging by the popularity of Evil Dead at the box office this past weekend, one thing is for sure... Horror is hotter than ever. Who would have guessed that "Hemlock Grove" would be adjacent to an evil place which you need explicit directions to get to? Actress and producer Blanc-Biehn teams with Streamy Award-winning producer Mark Gantt (The Bannen Way) and Lony Ruhmann (who is also helping produce the remake of Hidden In The Woods) for her directorial debut on the digital feature, The Night Visitor.

With a mix of both sci-fi and horror, the film will be lensed in the found footage style that has become popular within the genres. Ruhmann helmed the story and will executive produce with Blanc-Biehn; Gantt will produce the screenplay written by the Marcus Bros. (Hidden in the Woods-Remake, The Farm).

This project is created outside of her Blanc/Biehn Productions company and is a new partnership. Blanc/Biehn Productions is the partnership of famed actors Michael Biehn and Jennifer Blanc-Biehn. The pair decided to put their passion for acting and filmmaking into creating their own production company. Most recently the duo produced the grindhouse film The Victim, which co-stars Danielle Harris. The Victim will be released this month in Australia and New Zealand. The company is finishing post-production on their film Treachery and other films in development.

Bollywood has a longstanding history of creating beautiful and compelling pieces of cinema which usually end up breaking out into truly strange dance numbers. Why this is is anyone's guess, but now they're ready to throw their hats into the zombie arena.

Things sure have picked up since last week's announcement that Susan Sarandon and Topher Grace had been cast in the new serial killer thriller The Calling. On tap for you right now we have a myriad of casting news and the newly revealed synopsis.

Joining Sarandon and Grace will be Gil Bellows (House at the End of the Street, The Shawshank Redemption), Ellen Burstyn (pictured; The Exorcist, Requiem For A Dream), Christopher Heyerdahl (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, "True Blood"), and Donald Sutherland (The Hunger Games, Invasion of the Body Snatchers).

The Calling was written by Scott Abramovitch and will be directed by Jason Stone. Christine Vachon, Killer Films, and Randy Manis are producing.

Synopsis
Despite a bad back, a reliance on painkillers, and the occasional drink to take the edge off, Detective Inspector Hazel Micallef (Susan Sarandon) leads a tranquil existence sharing a home with her elderly mother, Emily (Burstyn), in Fort Dundas, Ontario. It is the epitome of a quaint and quiet town, but all of that is suddenly upended. As the interim commanding officer of an understaffed police force, Micallef, out on a routine call, discovers the grisly body of an elderly woman. The murder is shocking in its brutality.

As Micallef and her investigative team, including seasoned detective Ray Greene (Bellows) and new arrival to Fort Dundas, Ben Wingate (Topher Grace), learn of more victims in rural towns across the country, they realize they are tracking a serial killer driven by a higher calling. Dealing with small town bureaucracy while galvanizing her troops, she enlists the help of Father Price (Donald Sutherland) in her fearless pursuit of a religious madman they’ve come to know only as Simon (Christopher Heyerdahl).

Around these parts we are big fans of the Japanese Ring films. Hell, even the American version of The Ring was pretty good. Sure, the Japanese TV show sucked and the American The Ring 2 left LOTS to be desired, so we're hoping Sadako 3D can right some wrongs.

Synopsis:
Ciarán O’Shea, the handsome though washed up policeman of sleepy Erin Island, has a daily routine consisting mainly of hanging out at the pub with the local drunks and various other charmingly eccentric characters. But his day is about to go horribly wrong.

Teamed up with the unwanted help of Lisa – an uptight workaholic policewoman from the Irish mainland – they suddenly find themselves dealing with dead whales, decapitated fishermen and weird alien creatures or “grabbers”. Like a giant squid with tentacles, fanged jaws and a three-foot barbed tongue, they’re making mincemeat of the locals.

Faced with another imminent attack, O’Shea and Lisa figure out that the only person to survive the last onslaught only did so because he was so drunk his blood was literally toxic to the monsters. So there is only one thing for it: They have to get the entire village as drunk as possible in order to survive the night ... a task that the villagers apply themselves to with gusto.

But one person must remain sober so for the first time in years O’Shea has to face up to things without a drink. When things don’t go to plan, an extremely drunk Lisa and a very sober O’Shea have to reconcile their differences and somehow save the day.

Having just watched A Haunted House, I can tell you this... it's tolerable. While that's far from a ringing endorsement, at least it was better than the last few Scary Movie entries. With round 2 on its way hopefully Marlon Wayans can add some spice to his original recipe.

The original A Haunted House took in around $40 million worldwide and will be debuting on home video on August 23rd. That being said, Variety is reporting that Open Road Films has acquired U.S. distribution rights to spoof sequel A Haunted House 2, starring Marlon Wayans, who is also co-writing the script.

Production of the sequel will take place this summer, and Open Road will release it nationwide next winter. Look for more on this one as it comes.

Well, that certainly didn't take long! With the first season of "Bates Motel" premiering as the most-watched scripted drama in A&E history in key demographics, it's no surprise the network has picked up the show for another season.

BBC America is expanding its "Supernatural Saturday" lineup in 2014, and we have all the early details for its upcoming seven-part "Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell" miniseries, based on the novel by Susanna Clarke.

BBC AMERICA is co-producing a new drama series, "Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell." Based on the bestselling novel by Susanna Clarke and adapted by Peter Harness ("Wallander," Is Anybody There?), "Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell" (7 x 60) is set during the Napoleonic Wars in an England where magic once existed and is about to return. The series will premiere in 2014 as part of BBC AMERICA’s Supernatural Saturday programming block.

Extremely sad news has hit the internet regarding one of the finest actors to ever play the horror mega-icon Jason Voorhees. It's with a heavy heart that we have to say goodbye to Friday the 13th Part 3's Richard Brooker.

The new started spreading like wildfire across Facebook moments ago and we have confirmed from Brooker's management that it is indeed true. Richard was born in 1954 and was taken from us at an all too young age.

Aside from being the very first actor to ever officially don the infamous hockey mask as Jason Brooker also appeared in James Sbardellati's sword and sandal flick Deathstalker and many horror documentaries such as Never Sleep Again, His Name Was Jason, and the upcoming Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th.

Richard was also a staple on the convention scene and as anyone who has met him can easily attest to... one hell of a nice guy. He will be severely missed, by fans and many friends the world over. Thanks for the memories, sir. Godspeed.

One year after a tragic incident tore their family apart, a grieving son (Sean Elliot) and his estranged father (Lance Henriksen – Aliens, The Terminator) embark on a journey into the wild to reconcile. When an accident leaves the father badly injured and strands them, it is up to the son to save them both. However, this wilderness is not what it seems, and as they deteriorate, so too does reality. Horrifying creatures, ghostly apparitions-- are they all in their heads… or could the truth be far more terrible?

Talk about under the radar... to little or no fanfare Universal greenlit the long talked about flick Dracula: Year Zero, and we even have a star ready to bare his fangs as the title character. Read on for details.

THR reports that Luke Evans (pictured; Fast and Furious 6, The Immortals) has signed to topline in Dracula: Year Zero, now known simply as just Dracula, Universal’s dramatic horror movie telling an origin story of the most famous of vampires. Michael De Luca is producing the project and hopes to start shooting later this year. Commercials helmer Gary Shore is making his directorial debut on the picture.

The script tells of a young prince who, when the lives of his wife and child are put in danger by a bloodthirsty sultan, risks his soul to save them and in the process becomes the first vampire. More as it comes.
