As a bona fide card carrying member of the zombie army complete with full Romero authorized credentials, I have to say... blaming zombies for everything has got to stop! Someone needs to bring a halt to this undead oppression! Seriously, This Is the End!

Written and directed by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen and starring Rogen, Jay Baruchel, James Franco, Craig Robinson, Danny McBride and Jonah Hill as themselves, This Is the End finds six friends trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Once they discover that they are experiencing the Apocalypse, they must come to terms with why they were left behind. Eventually they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.

Look for the flick in theatres on June 12th.

Synopsis:
A group of strangers awake, trapped inside an old abandoned mental hospital. With no apparent way out and no one being able to remember how they even got there, they begin searching for a way to escape. As they explore the cold, dark maze of corridors, they realize they are not alone and that they are being stalked by supernatural forces with sinister intentions.

For Sam (Ry Barrett) and Jessica (Camille Hollett-French), keeping Celia (Ellie O'Brien), the youngest member, safe proves to be just as difficult as keeping the group together as hostilities grow between them. Everyone begins to question each other's motives as secrets linking their pasts are revealed and someone within the group is not who they say they are. One by one they begin to disappear; all that is left behind to be found by the others is the devastation and carnage of their demise.

As everything and everyone unravels, they start to understand that all the windows that have been boarded up from the inside are not so much there to keep them in, but to keep whatever evil lurks outside…out. In this place nothing is as it seems, and the decisions they make here will seal their fate forever.

Hands down the most bizarre mother/son team on TV is comprised of Norma and Norman Bates, and we have a clip from Monday's season finale, Episode 1.10 - "Midnight," that shows them at their finest. We've also gotten our hands on a slightly different preview to share.

Thanks, we're sure in no small part to the hype wheel beginning to move for Legendary Pictures' take on Godzilla, Diamond Select Toys will be bringing these usually expensive pieces of plastic to American consumers who've spent entirely too long trying to nab a 7" Gorosaurus and the like!

With Byzantium (review here) releasing in the UK on May 31st (we don't get it here in the States until June 28th), the first clip has arrived. It's moody and a bit creepy - exactly what you'd expect from director Neil Jordan!

Byzantium, written by Moira Buffini and directed by Neil Jordan, stars Gemma Arterton, Saoirse Ronan, Caleb Landry Jones, Danny Mays, Jonny Lee Miller, Tom Hollander, Bradley James, and Sam Riley in the vampire flick wherein Arterton stars as Clara, a vampire who has to protect herself and her daughter (Ronan) from those seeking to plunge a stake through their hearts.

On the run for murder, two young "sisters" arrive penniless at an English seaside town. Clara is a fiercely modern woman who has her eyes on the future and no time for the past. Teenager Eleanor is shy and innocent. Yet, they both hide the same secrets: They are really mother and daughter, and they are both ... vampires!

Sebastian Cordero’s sci-fi horror flick Europa Report stars District 9's Sharlto Copley alongside Michael Nyqvist, Daniel Wu, Anamaria Marinca, Christian Camargo, and Karolina Wydra.

Penned by Philip Gelatt, the film tells of a group of astronauts, handpicked from around the world, who make the arduous journey to Jupiter’s frigid, glacial moon Europa in search of extraterrestrial life. The only thing more intimidating and unpredictable than the trip itself is what the team will encounter upon arrival...

Okay, maybe the headline is a bit misleading, but this dude's mind power is pretty amazing, and given the talent involved in this remake of Richard Franklin’s seminal 1970′s Australian classic chiller, you should be wanting to watch the trailer anyway! Stop being so difficult and click already!

At the helm of the remake is Mark Hartley (Not Quite Hollywood), and the flick stars Richard E. Grant (Dracula, Corpse Bride), Rachel Griffiths (Blow), and Sharni Vinson (You're Next).

Synopsis
After killing his mother and her lover some years before, Patrick is the comatose patient in room 15 of a remote, private psychiatric clinic run by the secretive Dr Roget who treats him as guinea pig in his bizarre studies of life and death.

When Kathy, a nurse who has recently separated from her boyfriend, begins working at the clinic, she is instructed to care for him. She is disturbed by Roget’s treatment of him and somehow feels that Patrick is trying to make a connection with her. When Kathy realized that the lifeless murderer can communicate, she is shocked but compelled to prove her theory. Patrick has psychokinetic powers, which he uses to talk to Kathy by transferring his thoughts to her computer. As Patrick’s communication becomes stronger, strange and terrifying events begin to occur. Patrick has feelings for Kathy and his affection is about to manifest itself as a deadly, bloody obsession.

Here's the thing... you can put Dolph Lundgren in just about anything and we'll watch it. The prospect of a "Dolph of the Dead" flick is almost too much stimuli for us to handle, but handle we shall, if only in the name of science!

With Cannes in full swing, Anchor Bay Films has acquired U.S., Australia, and New Zealand rights to the latest undead flick on the block, Battle of the Damned from Bleiberg Entertainment’s Compound B. Dolph Lundgren stars with David Field, Matt Doran, and newcomer Melanie Zanetti. Christopher Hatton directed from his own script and also produced with Ehud Bleiberg and Leon Tong.

Says Anchor Bay, “There truly is no other film like this on the market; it’s got zombies and robots and spectacle. The visual effects are fantastic, and this is one of the best roles Dolph has ever had.”

Synopsis
In the near future on the outskirts of civilization, a remote test facility lies in ruin following a catastrophic security breach. All that remains is a handful of survivors, their small armory of weapons, and a fleet of the infected. The breach led to a viral outbreak that left thousands dead or mutated. Now the infected walk the land, stalking the few that still live. Led by private military operative Max Gatling (Lundgren), they fight the infected and soon learn there is a band of malfunctioning prototype robots also on the march. They are armed and incredibly dangerous...

Another Outpost movie is on its way, and given the quality of the first and the mediocrity of the second, we're really hoping that this third film, entitled Outpost III: Rise of the Spetsnaz, can get things back on track!

BBC America has released its first teaser promo for "In the Flesh," which is airing as a special three-night premiere event beginning Thursday, June 6th, at 10:00pm ET/PT. Check it out, and let us know if you're planning to watch. We certainly are!

"In the Flesh" explores a post-zombie-uprising - from the zombie’s perspective. A cauldron of brutal anti-zombie sentiment boils in Roarton, the home of the ‘rotter’ hating Human Volunteer Force (HVF). Can Kieren’s neighbors forgive him for what he did in his untreated state? Meanwhile, the zombie-hating Human Volunteer Force, led by the violent Bill Macy, is ready to take action against any PDS sufferer reintegrated on their patch.

Feeling trapped at home, Kieren escapes to his grave, where he is reunited with his old hunting partner, Amy Dyer, who persuades him to take a dangerous day trip. After an awkward reunion, Kieren finds himself on an HVF hunting mission in the woods, where the night patrol has reported live rabid zombies roaming free.

After visiting the supermarket where he used to hunt with Amy, Kieren remembers that Jem once spared his life. Together, brother and sister confront the demons in their pasts and visit Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster (the parents of the girl from Kieren’s flashbacks, who fell victim to Kieren and Amy in the supermarket). Kieren feels momentarily better but then has to say goodbye to Amy, who is leaving Roarton in search of The Prophet. Will Kieren and Rick be able to find peace and acceptance as PDS sufferers in this highly-charged new world?

What more can be said about The Scream Factory? They're like the real life Santa Claus for horror fans. Over on their official Facebook page they've announced two new horror Blu-rays from John Carpenter... Body Bags and my personal favorite Prince of Darkness.

"John Carpenter's BODY BAGS will be unzipped and presented on Blu-ray from us before 2013 closes. Didn't see that one coming, did you? That's all we can disclose at the moment. More details to be revealed in July/Aug."

Synopsis
This trilogy of horror comes from the gleefully demented minds of horror masters John Carpenter and Tobe Hooper. Three tales are told, each one increasingly terrifying. The first tells the story of a woman being stalked by an axe-weilding maniac. The second is the story of a man who pays the ultimate price for a beautiful head of hair. The final tale shows what it is like to see life through the eyes of a killer. Good writing and performances that revel in the wickedness of the material make BODY BAGS a cut above most horror anthologies. Carpenter and Hooper deliver the hair-raising goods with aplomb, exercising the talent for scary storytelling that has made them famous. Stacy Keach is particularly a stand out as the vain man who gives up his freedom for a perfect mane of hair. BODY BAGS is in the vein of such classic horror anthologies as CREEPSHOW and DEADTIME STORIES.

"Since we started this week with a John Carpenter film announcement (Body Bags), it is fitting we end it with another...The master's 1987 cult classic PRINCE OF DARKNESS - our #1 most requested title - will be coming this fall and presented as a Collector's Edition on DVD and Blu-ray! Synopsis
Proving that you can never guess what you'll find when you clean out the basement, a man of the cloth discovers that ultimate evil has made a hiding place in his cellar in this tale of terror. Father Loomis (Donald Pleasence) is a priest who discovers a strange object in a church basement -- a canister filled with a swirling and volatile green substance. With the help of Professor Birack (Victor Wong), Loomis discovers the startling truth about his find -- it seems that Satan, who is actually an alien life form, had a son, and the essence of the devil's spawn is trapped inside the canister. The evil spirit has been guarded by a group calling themselves "The Brotherhood of Sleep," but the spirit has the ability to free itself whenever it decides the time is right...and it seems that time is just around the corner. Prince of Darkness was directed by horror master John Carpenter; he also wrote the screenplay under the pseudonym Martin Quatermass.

Finally, after a slew of promos and teasers, the full official trailer for "Dexter" Season 8 is here; and we just have to say that after watching it, despite the past two lackluster seasons, we cannot wait to see how it all ends!

"Dexter" Season 8, premiering June 30th, begins six months after LaGuerta’s murder with Dexter (Golden Globe and SAG Award winner Michael C. Hall) still managing life as a dad, brother, and serial killer. As Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) struggles to deal with the consequences of her actions, a mysterious woman comes to work with Miami Metro, offering first-hand information on Dexter’s past.

The series also stars Desmond Harrington, C.S. Lee, Aimee Garcia, David Zayas, Geoff Pierson, and James Remar. Season 8 guest stars include Yvonne Strahovski, Bethany Joy Lenz, Rhys Coiro, Charlotte Rampling, Nick Gomez, Julian Sands, and Sean Patrick Flanery.

With filmmaker Sean Cain having recently wrapped his "sorority girls vs. dinosaurs" flick Jurassic Block, we sat down to chat with the affable writer and director regarding the project. Read on for more, including several stills and a look behind the scenes!

Written and directed by Cain (whose previous genre features include Silent Night, Zombie Night and Breath of Hate), Jurassic Block is produced by Anthony Fankhuaser and J.J. Kim, with FX by Joseph Lawson. It stars Ray Wise (Jeepers Creepers 2), Kevin Gage (Heat), Robert LaSardo (Death Race), Vernon Wells (The Road Warrior), Dana Melanie, Kayla Carlyle, Jack Forcinito (Silent Night, Zombie Night), Sofia Mattsson, Monique Parent, Timothy Muskatell, Vanessa Johnston and Bill Millsap (“Hatfields & McCoys”).

“Originally it was a much different concept,” Cain told us of the beginnings of Jurassic Block. “I had pitched the producers initially with my idea of basically combining [the premises of] Attack the Block with The Raid Redemption. It was supposed to be a bunch of teenaged ghetto kids who end up in this big high-rise building kicking ass. The producers liked the idea but came back to me and said, 'Can you make the location a prison, and can you make the lead characters three sorority girls?' So of course I said, 'Yes.' I mean, pretty girls and dinosaurs? That’s a combination we can sell.”

Written over the course of a month and a half, “There were about nine different drafts,” said the filmmaker of the script. “I kept having to change things based on budget or this or that, so I was pretty much writing up until a few days before we started shooting.”

Filmed in and around the Los Angeles area over the course of twelve days on the Red camera, the majority of Jurassic Block was lensed at the Sybil Brand Institute for Women, an abandoned prison in Monterey Park, CA.

“This is the first time that I haven’t produced a movie that I’ve directed, so I was kept out of the process quite a bit while I was re-writing the script,” offered Cain (pictured below) of the pre-production. “It was a lot less pressure on me, not having to produce the film. When I’ve done stuff in the past, it felt like the weight of the world was on my shoulders because I had do every single thing, but being able to delegate more and more with each project has been nice. So they pretty much hired the crew. I was in for the casting process, though, so I was able to bring some of my old familiar faces to the table and also go out to some new ones. All in all, it was a good experience.”

With regard to directing such a VFX-heavy project, “I worked previously as an editor and as the director on the Los Angeles reshoots for Rise of the Dinosaurs (aka Jurassic Attack),” Cain stated. “It was a good ‘jumping off’ point for me to prep for something similar. It was a good learning curve. A lot of the post will be working with the effects guy on how to make the dinosaurs react to the human performances, and we’ll come up with something pretty cool. I’ve just started editing it. I’m giving myself about six weeks to deliver a rough, finished picture.”

“The game plan is to have Syfy release it,” he said of distribution. “Because of that, we were very conscientious about crafting the film for television. So there’s no swearing. They have strict guidelines at Syfy about what you can and can’t do. They are very interesting. For example, you can have a lot of ‘creature on man’ violence, but ‘man on man’ is bad. So that was some of the re-writing I had to do. I mean, there are still people fighting each other, and it still has a lot of gory stuff, but it’s mainly with dinosaurs chomping humans, rather than humans shooting or stabbing each other.”

Pertaining to the gore, things apparently rush out of the gate in the opening moments of Jurassic Block.

“Bill Millsap was great,” stated Cain of the actor, who appears as a lone guard who meets an untimely demise in the opening. He also had a bit part in Cain’s previous feature Silent Night, Zombie Night.

“He was a trooper,” he continued. “He’s in the first scene, and he dies bloodily. He’s the Drew Barrymore of Jurassic Block. I don’t think the audience will have any illusions that he’ll survive. I think once he comes on screen, people will know that this guy is going to get it first, and I think it’s a fun opening.”

Stated Millsap of working with Cain, “Sean is a blast to work with. He is supremely focused on set, but with a casual attitude and disarming sense of humor that instantly makes you want to give him your best. As for the dino I'm up against, I have yet to see what it looks like, but I know it thinks I'm pretty tasty."

On the look of the dinos in Jurassic Block, “We are going old-school Spielberg,” Cain revealed. “They gave us a bunch of different looks for the Velociraptors, and some of them had more feathers than others, but we are going for the look of the original Velociraptors in Jurassic Park, other than the ones they did later in that series. That feather stuff is kind of ridiculous.”

As for what’s next, “We are looking to do many more creature features in the future,” concluded Cain.

Synopsis:
A trio of sorority girls are tossed in the drunk tank after a wild party gone wrong. They have to team up with some nasty characters to survive the night after a pack of Velociraptors get loose when a secret convoy is diverted from their original destination to the bowels of the jail.

XYZ Films joins Gareth Evans’ PT Merantau Films to launch worldwide sales on The Night Comes For Us, with Evans serving as action director and Timo Tjahjanto serving as director of the Indonesian-English thriller.

According to Screen Daily the film will be produced by the LA-based XYZ Films with PT Merantau Films, with Maya Barack Evans of PT and Nate Bolotin, Aram Tertzakian, Nick Spicer, and Todd Brown of XYZ serving as executive producers.

The Night Comes For Us follows “a Triad enforcer who, after unwittingly orchestrates a massacre, embarks on a bloody journey of atonement.” The film will star Joe Taslim of The Raid and Fast & Furious 6, alongside Yayan Ruhian.

Director Timo Tjahjano was one of the directors on the short film anthology ABCs of Death, as well as the “Safe Haven” segment of V/H/S/2, which he co-directed with Evans. His film Killers, also produced by XYZ, is currently in post-production.

The next film from legendary director Francis Ford Coppola, Twixt, is on its way to home video. Look for it from 20th Century Fox on Blu-ray and DVD July 30th. Or... don't. From what we hear it's kinda crappy. Time will tell.

Inspired by the Gothic horror of Edgar Allan Poe, Francis Ford Coppola's latest tells the tale of a burnt-out mystery writer (Val Kilmer) who gets mixed up in murder and evil in a California town. Bruce Dern, Elle Fanning, David Paymer, and Ben Chaplin also star.

Synopsis
A writer with a declining career arrives in a small town as part of his book tour and gets caught up in a murder mystery involving a young girl. That night, in a dream, he is approached by a mysterious young ghost named V. He's unsure of her connection to the murder in the town but is grateful for the story being handed to him. Ultimately he is led to the truth of the story, surprised to find that the ending has more to do with his own life than he could ever have anticipated.

Image Entertainment, an RLJ Entertainment brand, has acquired U.S. rights to Scott Di Lalla’s Ouija board thriller I Am ZoZo from Outsider Pictures and One World Studios Ltd. The film was written and directed by documentarian Scott Di Lalla (Choppertown: The Sinners) and stars Kelly McLaren, Courtney Foxworthy, Demetrius Sager, Caleb DeBattista, and Caleb Courtney. The film was produced by Zack Coffman and executive produced by Martin Perlberger. I Am ZoZo was filmed entirely on Super 8mm and recently received Best Feature and Audience Choice Awards at the 2012 US Super 8 Film Festival. Bill Bromiley, Chief Acquisitions Officer for Image Entertainment ,made today’s announcement.

"Di Lalla's background as a documentary filmmaker brings realism to I Am ZoZo whose subject matter is terrifying in itself,” said Bromiley. “We are excited to share with viewers Di Lalla's uniquely artistic vision of this supernatural horror genre."

I Am ZoZo centers on five young friends who play with a Ouija board that inadvertently summons the malevolent Ouija demon “ZoZo.” The film’s horrific account of possession is based on widely reported real experiences with this ancient and evil spirit that attaches itself to people exclusively through Ouija boards.

The deal was negotiated by Mark Ward on behalf of Image Entertainment, Paul Hudson of Outsider Pictures, and Zack Coffman of One World Studios Ltd.

In anticipation of the June 25th DVD and Blu-ray release of The Rambler, Anchor Bay has finally released an official trailer for the flick, and as always you can find it right here. Dig it!

In the film, a stranger known only as “the Rambler” (Mulroney) is just released from prison and anxious to build a new life for himself. Coming home to a faithless girlfriend (Lyonne), he quickly realizes his old life is truly behind him. With the promise of a job and some stability from his brother, the Rambler embarks on a cross-country journey to what hopefully is a new start.

Like Odysseus and other travelers on the road-to-wisdom before him, the Rambler – armed only with his cowboy hat, shades, a guitar, and traveling sack — will encounter all manner of obstacles and dangers on his road to redemption, including a scientist with a dream-recording (onto VHS!) machine, a cab driver with an unnatural love of the original Frankenstein film, “mummies” in the back of trucks, and oh — did we mention exploding heads?

Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment released a teaser trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins. Be on the lookout for the full trailer, which will be revealed on 20th May.

Batman: Arkham Origins is the next installment in the blockbuster Batman: Arkham videogame franchise. Developed by WB Games Montréal, the game features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, the first two critically acclaimed games of the franchise. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous criminals, the game showcases a young and unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. As the story unfolds, players will meet many important characters for the first time and forge key relationships.

Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag will release for consoles and PC on October 29th. Players can prepare for the adventure ahead by checking out the new trailer Under the Black Flag to learn the rules the pirates live by.

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag tells the story of Edward Kenway, a young British man with a thirst for danger and adventure, who falls from privateering for the Royal Navy into piracy as the war between the major Empires comes to an end.
