A new tale of terror is on its way from Vietnam known as House in the Alley (aka Ngôi Nhà Trong Hẻm for those of you brave enough to even try to pronounce that), and we have the English-language trailer for you right here.

Synopsis
A young married couple has just suffered through a terrible tragedy. Thanh and Thao are a successful couple living in Saigon who were about to begin a new happy chapter in their lives, starting with their first-born child. However, that dream ended abruptly when Thao had complications throughout her pregnancy period, ending in the worst scenario: a miscarriage.

Life would never be the same for this young couple. Ever since the tragic day, Thanh sees a drastic change in Thao’s emotions and immediately becomes concerned. It seems that moving on will be harder than they had anticipated; even continuing with their everyday tasks seems challenging.

As the young couple makes every effort to move on, they are suddenly met with unusual and uninvited encounters; loud footsteps are heard, scratches on walls and vandalized furniture are seen, even children whispering and brief shadows are seen. These paranormal activities get worse when Thao mistakenly believes that they are caused by their unborn son haunting them, and she gravitates toward the evil forces. Thanh is forced to choose between his wife and the forces he has trouble believing in and is not sure even exist.

Thao becomes almost unrecognizable as the paranormal takes over her body. Thanh sees his wife’s sanity worsen every moment and is tormented by thoughts of losing her. It’s a race against time to save his wife, and Thanh must try to piece together all the mysterious information and revelations he finds about the House, a secret he will realize many wanted to forget.

Ghost House Pictures is producing the much anticipated remake of The Evil Dead, the film that effectively launched the careers of Sam Raimi (Spider-Man franchise, Darkman, Drag Me to Hell), Rob Tapert (30 Days of Night), and Bruce Campbell, who played the Ash character and was co-producer of the original. Penned by Philip Gelatt, the film tells of "a group of astronauts, handpicked from around the world, who make the arduous journey to Jupiter’s frigid, glacial moon Europa in search of extraterrestrial life. The search to find two engaged Dead Island superfans, who were willing to be zombified for a legally-binding wedding, began in January and the ceremony will be the centerpiece of the celebrations for the launch of Dead Island Riptide on 26th April. After being inundated with video applications, Deep Silver has selected Jennifer Jones, 27, and Rob Blackmore, 31, whose application, genuine love for each other, and enthusiasm for the Dead Island franchise made them the ideal undead couple.

On hearing that they had won, Jennifer commented: “We're thrilled to have been chosen to be the official zombie bride and groom for Dead Island Riptide! We're big fans of Dead Island and the horror genre, and a zombie wedding is a dream come true for us. Thanks Deep Silver & Koch Media!”

As well as hosting a zombie-style beach wedding, Deep Silver will also be sending the undead couple off on a Caribbean honeymoon.

The nuptials will take place on 23rd April 2013 at One Mayfair in London, and being a thoroughly legitimate wedding, it will include all of the traditional trappings of a ceremony… but with a Dead Island spin. The bride will arrive for the ceremony in the specially customized Dead Island Riptide pickup truck, where the couple will make their everlasting vows to one another. The ceremony will be followed by speeches and a first dance, with music provided by an undead mariachi band.

The dark fairy tale Puppeteer is set to release later this year exclusively for the PlayStation 3. Players will entire a bizarre and terrifying adventure where a young boy was turned into a puppet and then has his head devoured by the Moon Bear King.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II will get the new DLC Uprising on April 16th for the Xbox 360. The downloadable content will feature new maps and an epic new zombie experience entitled Mob of the Dead where players take on the roles of Hollywood's most iconic mobsters.

Synopsis

Around August of last year was the last time we had a chance to talk about Mickey Keating's directorial debut, Ritual, but with the passage of time comes good things... including distribution news. Read on for details.

According to Deadline, Continental Media has closed multi-territory deals on Ritual, from Eric B. Fleischman’s EBF Productions and Chelsea Peters’ Chelsea Stardust, through After Dark Films, which will distribute in those markets. Lionsgate has come aboard for the U.S. Continental will shop the remaining territories — including Canada, Germany, Japan, and Spain — next month in Cannes.

Synopsis
The radio blares a 24-hour Halloween Weekend Fright Fest as Tom Moses drives deeper and deeper into the desert. He arrives at a sleazy motel, where his wife, Lovely, informs him through the locked door that something terrible has happened. He persuades her to let him inside and discovers a man slumped against the wall on the other side of the room, stabbed to death.

Though Lovely tries to convince Tom that she only came here for a drink, he knows the real story – this isn’t the first time she’s run off with strange men in the middle of the night. Lovely begs Tom not to call the police, and against his better judgment, he finally agrees to help. Maybe he’s a fool in love, maybe he’s just a plain fool, but his decision to stay is certainly the worst he’ll ever make in his entire life. It is not long before Tom discovers a video camera in the trunk of the man’s car and plugs it into the television. He and Lovely watch as a horrifying image crackles to life: a group of individuals, shrouded in robes and disguised in skull masks, ritualistically sacrifice a helpless girl.

The situation becomes clear, and Tom and Lovely realize that they need to get out while they still can. But the night has only just begun, and the strangers in skull masks soon arrive with a plan of their own…

Please forgive me if there are any typos here on display as it's kind of hard to type over the height of my Nerd Boner of Possibility™. That being said... think about this... Pacific Rim and Godzilla are both properties of Legendary Pictures. Both feature giant monsters. What if....

What would happen if these two enormous worlds collided? Appropriately enough Collider asked the magic question... Could it happen?

"So far with the sequel, what we’re writing, what we’re creating, is very different, so there are no plans," says Del Toro. However, "hypothetically, I would love the fuck out of it. I would love to see a jaeger and Godzilla duke it out. That would be too much for the human brain. But I don’t think there are plans on that. I don’t even know what direction they’re taking Godzilla in. I know somewhat that it’s grounded differently. Pacific Rim, my aspiration was, the color, the saturation of color, was almost an acid-drip version of the Heavy Metal coloring that I loved when Richard Corben was working there, when [Jean-Claude] Forest was working there. Super bright, super saturated, the crazy color and aesthetic. And Godzilla is more realistic, somewhat. That’s my thinking. That’s what I’ve heard. I don’t even know which way they’re going."

It's been a few days since we've heard about any new young adult novels being adapted for the big screen so of course it's time for another! Here's the first word on Half Bad, the beginning of a trilogy that takes place in a world inhabited by covert witches.

Per Deadline, Fox 2000 has acquired film rights to Sally Green’s debut book, Half Bad, a contemporary supernatural thriller that will be published under the Penguin imprint in spring 2014. It deals with two factions of witches, one good and the other evil (of course), which are divided by hatred but united by one thing — fear of a boy descended from both sides.

The adaptation will be produced by Karen Rosenfelt, whose recent films include The Twilight Saga, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, and The Book Thief.

In Hollywood nothing is over until it's over, and that's apparently very true for Scary Movie 5, which went before cameras once more as a means to get in a quick Evil Dead gag. You mad, bro? LOLZ.

Malcolm Lee directed Scary Movie 5 from a script penned by David Zucker. It stars Ashley Tisdale, Erica Ash, Heather Locklear, Terry Crews, Jerry O'Connell, Kate Walsh, and Jasmine Guy. The plot involves three dancers — one veteran performer and two upstarts who are also best friends — who vie for the lead in a new production from a snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed director. It spoofs Black Swan, Paranormal Activity, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, 127 Hours, and lots more.

Look for it in theatres on April 12th.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have announced that the Injustice: Gods Among game for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch is now available on the App Store. Developed from the ground up by award-winning NetherRealm Studios, this free-to-play mobile game delivers stunning graphics and a completely unique fighting gameplay experience created especially for Apple devices.

The full console version will be available for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, and the Wii U™ system from Nintendo beginning April 16th.

The Injustice: Gods Among Us mobile game features a collectible card mechanic and engages players in 3-on-3 tag team combat that pits many of DC Comics' most popular icons such as Batman, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Aquaman, and more against one another. Fans who also own the forthcoming Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will be able to unlock content in the console versions that will be available in the mobile game, and vice versa, by registering for a Warner Bros. ID (WBID) account and playing the game.

Yes, in some theatres right now a movie called The Call is currently playing, but that's not stopping the makers of the indie thriller The Calling from using a similar title.

In The Calling, which we expect to be renamed The Hive shortly, Susan Sarandon will play a small-town Canadian detective who tracks down a serial killer targeting the terminally ill to use as disciples in his own planned resurrection. Topher Grace will also star as an ambitious police officer recently transferred from Toronto who becomes the detective’s right-hand man.

The Calling was written by Scott Abramovitch and will be directed by Jason Stone, with production getting under way this week. Christine Vachon, Killer Films, and Randy Manis are producing.
