Sean Carter's upcoming thriller Home Invasion has an impressive cast that continues to strengthen. Today, it's Saw scribe Leigh Whannell who joins the cast just in time to add an air of mystery to the proceedings.

We don't know much else about Whannell's role, according to THR, but the story focuses on a family imprisoned in their home by intruders who play a life-and-death game in which the mysterious rules become clear as the night unfolds.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Chandler Riggs ("The Walking Dead") and Ioan Gruffudd ("Ringer") will star opposite Bella Thorne and Natalie Martinez in the thriller being made by Voltage Pictures and Zinc Entertainment, a division of Silver Pictures. Riggs joins Thorne in playing the siblings, while Gruffudd will play the father to Martinez's stepmother.

It was only a matter of time until someone optioned M. William Phelps'The Devil's Rooming House for the big (or little) screen. The story of America's most prolific female serial killer is far too fascinating to pass up, after all.

Deadline is reporting that Peter Facinelli's A7SLE Films has optioned The Devil's Rooming House for the screen. An adaptation of M. William Phelps' novel, it tells the story of Amy Archer-Gilligan, a nursing home administrator responsible for a series of poisonings between 1907 and 1917. According to the article, bulk arsenic buyer “Sister Amy” was eventually found guilty of murder, with her story serving as the basis for Joseph Kesselring’s 1939 play Arsenic and Old Lace.

A7SLE’s Rob DeFranco negotiated the deal with Matthew Valentinas for Phelps.

While it's too early to talk about casting, it'll be interesting watching this project take shape. More to come.

A familiar face returns to "Supernatural" next week, just in time for Thanksgiving, but it sounds like Episode 9.08 will find the Winchesters caught between a "Rock and a Hard Place." Here's a dozen stills of what's ahead when Sam and Dean reunite with Sheriff Mills.

CGI has taken taken over monster movies in the States, but for one small group of students at the Osaka University of Arts, old school rubber suits and miniature buildings drive the production of their daikaiju eiga (giant monster film).

Get set for your first look at Zella: Monster Martial Law.

Practical effects, be they giant rubber suits or a gallon of karo syrup, are almost always preferred to CGI, and Zella,, directed by Shingo Maehata, seems to be a labor of love for someone who holds this tradition so dear. Clocking in at a mere 41 minutes and inspired by Godzilla, Gamera, and stop-motion guru Ray Harryhausen, production on the film was assisted by Hiromasa Mitsudome, who worked as special effects supervisor on the "Ultraman" TV series.

Check out the teaser below for a quick glimpse at the monstrous and demon-like kaiju Zella as he battles the cyborg Isoroku. When it’s complete, the film will be subtitled and released online so we can all join in on the kaiju fun.

Who better to make a movie than film festival organizers? The folks at the Everybody Dies Horror Film Fest have decided to take their knowledge of filmmaking and create their own short, Everybody Dies at Scarycon.

As someone who grew up with Fleetwood Mac, I'm pretty excited to see Stevie Nicks on "American Horror Story: Coven." Exec producer Ryan Murphy is too and tweeted a picture of the iconic songstress from the set. And in this week's EW he shares some clues about "AHS" Season 4.

Below you'll see Nicks' photo, but first, what's up next season?

Murphy will begin dropping hints about Season 4 around Episode 11, but he did tell the mag, “It’s not contemporary," adding, “It’s either going to shoot in New Orleans, or it’s going to shoot in Santa Fe.”

Back in 2005, New Line acquired the production rights to the 90s comic series Parasyte, with plans on Takashi Shimizu (The Grudge) directing the live-action adaptation. It ended up being one of those projects that never happened...

...but it's just been given new life courtesy of a new production company. Read on for the exciting details!

As per Variety, Japanese company Toho has picked up the rights to Parasyte, securing them after a bidding war that resulted from New Line ceding the rights. Takashi Yamazaki has been tapped to direct the two-part adaptation, with Part 1 set for release in December 2014 and Part 2 following sometime in 2015.

Shota Sometani will star as a teenager whose body is invaded by an alien parasite that takes over his hand instead of, like many of his fellow humans, his brain. He ends up battling for survival in a world teeming with seemingly normal but potentially deadly alien-controlled hosts.

Production begins in January of next year.

Yesterday we got a look at the official poster for Devil's Knot, and today we have the first trailer to share. Image is releasing the film in the US sometime in 2014; stay tuned for an exact date.

Firth stars as Ron Lax in the film, a local private investigator and one of the first people to support the teens in their defense. Witherspoon plays Pam Hobbs, the mother of one of the murdered boys. Together, they allow an uncompromising look at both sides of a town that was torn apart… and will probably never be the same again.

I know it's cool to hate remakes and all, and I realize it's a bummer that this one is rated PG-13, but I kinda can't help but be excited about the return of RoboCop to the big screen.

If you experienced 2010's The Last Circus, then you know that you should never miss anything with the name Alex De la Iglesia attached to it. Swapping out the clowns with witches, the Spanish filmmaker's next is Witching and Bitching (review), which is fresh off a premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The flick centers on a band of thieves trying to flee to France after purloining 25,000 gold rings from a Spanish city. A curse is placed on them, and they fall into the clutches of the witches of the Navarrese town of Zugarramurdi.

Witching's ensemble cast boasts some of Spain’s biggest film and TV stars, such as Mario Casas (I Want You), Hugo Silva (Sex, Parties and Lies), and Carmen Maura, who earned a Best Actress award at San Sebastian in 2000 for her role in Commonwealth. Further cast members are Terele Pavez, Carolina Bang, Secun de la Rosa, Pepon Nieto, and Jaime Ordonez.

According to De la Iglesia, Witching and Bitching is a mix of his 1995 groundbreaking hit The Day of the Beast with multi-awarded 2000 comedy Commonwealth. “It is an outrageous comedy, in the line of ‘It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World,’ but a horror comedy,” De la Iglesia explained.

Spike Lee's remake of the Korean classic Oldboy is almost here but right now we have cool little tidbits for you to chew on! Part 2 of the Oldboy-inspired graphic novel The Devil's Eyes and a way to get hammered the old country way. Make you humble.

Starring Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, and Sharlto Copley, Oldboy was directed by Spike Lee from a script by Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend, The Cell, Thor). The film was produced by Roy Lee, Doug Davison, and Nathan Kahane. It arrives in theatres on Wednesday, November 27th.

Henry Rollins' new project, He Never Died, is filming right now and on tap for you fans of his is your very first look at Rollins in character in the flick. Check it out and look for more on this one as it comes.

The film is currently shooting in Toronto.

Written and being directed by indie helmer Jason Krawczyk (The Briefcase), He Never Died stars punk icon Henry Rollins as Jack, a mysterious loner who has lived an inexplicably long life fueled by blood lust and filled with crime and violence. Rollins also serves as an Executive Producer on the project.

Rollins is joined on screen by the Twilight franchise star Boo Boo Stewart (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Kate Greenhouse (The Dark Hours), and Jordan Todosey (Degrassi: The Next Generation”). Synopsis

Mysterious, unexplained events occur around the castle and strange noises are heard in the middle of the night. At first the group are skeptical – they think the COMPANY is creating the illusion of a “haunting” to test their reactions, until it is revealed there is something more sinister involved.

An all-star cast of both monsters and actors alike are set to do battle in The Kitchen Sink, a horror comedy that's currently shooting and is set for release on October 24th of next year.
