We told you about the new horror film from John Schneider (yes, that John Schneider of "Dukes of Hazzard fame) entitled, Smothered, a while ago and now we have the first premiere news for you! Read on!

Actor and filmmaker John Schneider (Smallville, Dukes of Hazzard) has rounded up some of horror's most famous faces for Smothered, premiering in New Orleans in May.

The highly-anticipated fright-fest, which features the likes of Kane Hodder, Don Shanks, R.A Mihailoff, Bill Mosely, and Brea Grant , boasts the largest number of horror icons ever to grace the screen at the same time.

Smothered, written and directed by Schneider, sees the horror icons playing themselves in a scenario that sees them attending a small, disheartening horror-convention on Friday the 13th. Running out of patience but principally money, the group accept a cash-offer to go and scare-up the local RV park - but things take a surprising, dark turn when they arrive. The tables are turned as the monsters of the movie screen become the prey!

Smothered will premiere in Louisiana, where the film was shot and Schneider's Fairlight Films is now located.

The premiere, being held at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel on Friday May 16, encompass a pre-screening social hour and post-screening Q&A with Schneider.

Members of the film's cast and crew, as well as city dignitaries are expected to be in attendance.

Smothered, also featuring Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes), John Kassir ('The Crypt Keeper'), Dane Rhodes (True Detective), and Shanna Forrestall (The Last Exorcism), is due for release late 2014.

A local surfer cautions them strongly against the journey into the dense jungles of the Darien Gap, warning that other gringos in search of the legendary waterfall had mysteriously disappeared into the rainforest, never to be seen or heard from again.

Ignoring his warnings, the group convinces the woman to guide them to the picturesque waterfall, thinking that they have nothing to fear with a local as their guide. What begins as a fun outing quickly turns terrifying when their guide mysteriously vanishes after a romantic tryst at the falls. As night closes in, the friends realize too late the truth behind the warnings— horrific, bloodthirsty, flesh-eating creatures are now stalking them. The mangled survivors rush to jungle caves for shelter, only to realize they’ve entered the monsters’ lair!

It was during last year's Comic-Con that we first told you about the partnership between Life of Agony's Alan Robert and IDW which resulted in the graphic novel The Shunned One. Today we learned that it's being adapted for the screen.

Jack Reher is the man who is behind the adaptation. The book focuses on an Angel of Death who goes rogue after being ordered to take several innocent lives. This guilt-ridden death angel begins to carry out his own judgment on humans based on their actions instead of whether their names appear on the preordained Death List.

The Angel’s unsanctioned murders instantly alter the balance within the universe and trigger a string of unforeseen disasters that spiral out of control. Banished from Heaven by his Creator and hunted by a pack of vengeful death angels, The Shunned One must hide among the humans to survive while trying to reverse the damage he’s done.

Alan Taylor is directing the film from a screenplay by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. David Ellison and Dana Goldberg of Skydance Productions are producing. Skydance’s Paul Schwake, Annapurna Pictures’ Megan Ellison, Kalogridis, and Lussier are executive producing.

Smith is best known for playing The Doctor on the popular “Doctor Who” television series during the 2011-2103 seasons. His other television credits include “Christopher and His Kind,” “Moses Jones,” and “The Street.” He can be seen next on the big screen in LOST RIVER, directed by Ryan Gosling, alongside Christina Hendricks, Saoirse Ronan, and Eva Mendes.

The “TERMINATOR” franchise launched in 1984 with Schwarzenegger as the title character and spanned three subsequent films, which have earned more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

Paramount will distribute the film worldwide on July 1, 2015.

The trailer for the directorial debut of Academy Award-winning special effects designer Tom Woodruff, Jr., a supernatural thriller called Fire City: The Interpreter of Signs, is finally here and the practical effects are nothing short of badass! Dig it!

The film centers around a fragile balance that exists between humankind and the demons who secretly live among them and the crisis for all when this balance is broken. Mary-Margaret Humes, Harry Shum Jr., Danielle Chuchran, Kristin Minter, Matt Winston, Eric Edwards, Tobias Jelinek, and Robert Peters star.

Shum plays an abusive alcoholic boyfriend who suddenly transforms into a caring and loving person, along with the rest of the humans in his seedy tenement building. Dependent on human misery for survival, the demons in the building begin to starve.

Writer-producers Brian Lubocki and Michael Hayes successfully funded a Kickstarter campaign for the film in August 2013 and will go into production this month. Shum is repped by Innovative.

According to Deadline Screen Gems has set Stefan Ruzowitzky to direct Patient Zero, from a script by Mike Le.

In Patient Zero, an unprecedented global pandemic has resulted in the evolution of a new species. An aggressive form of rabies turns the infected into predators, addicted to violence. An inexplicably gifted human survivor with the ability to speak their new language spearheads a hunt for Patient Zero in order to find a cure to save his infected wife and humanity.

Production will begin in the summer, most probably in Germany.

Synopsis
The Sacrament follows two Vice media correspondents as they set out to document their friend’s search to find his missing sister. At the centre of this small, religious, socialist community is a mysterious leader known only as “Father.” As their friend reunites with his sister, it becomes apparent to the newcomers that this paradise may not be as it seems. What started as just another documentary shoot soon becomes a race to escape with their lives.

Ruhmann, who came up with the idea for the story and tapped Wilson to flesh it out (so to speak) with an original screenplay, previously said of the film, “When I was a kid, these grainy, cleavage obsessed pin-up photos used to put me in another world. I want to see these mysterious, unattainable, naughty women of my adolescence come to life. I anticipate our film’s vibe being fun, humorous, ironic, visually pleasing, and lusty in a happy way.”

"Salem" returns to the airwaves in just a few hours, and to whet your appetites for what's ahead, here's another clip from Episode 1.03, "In Vain," in which we see that Anne's new toy has more power than she could have ever imagined.

"Salem" explores what really fueled the town's infamous witch trials and dares to uncover the dark, supernatural truth behind them. The series is created, executive produced, and written by award-winning writer/producer Brannon Braga and Adam Simon.

Salem trembles in the aftermath of the trial, and Anne (Tamzin Merchant) turns to John Alden (Shane West) for comfort. Mysterious circumstances lead Alden to suspect Magistrate Hale (Xander Berkeley) is not who or what he appears to be. Mary (Janet Montgomery) discovers who witnessed the witches' ceremony and deliberates a course of action. Elsewhere, George Sibley (Michael Mulheren) begins hatching a plan to escape Mary’s clutches.
