At the recent premiere of Dave Zagorski's Killing Brooke, Mad Z Productions debuted the teaser trailer for his next project, The Devil's Nightmare, and we have it for you right here along with a few photos and some preliminary details of what the film is about.

A remake of Jean Brismee's Belgian/Italian film from 1971 (not released in America until 1974 and alternately titled "La plus longue nuit du diable", "Castle of Death", "La terrificante notte del demonio" and "Succubus"), starring Seregon O'Dassey and Devanny Pinn.

The Devil's Nightmare is once again written and directed by Dave Zagorski. Regular Mad Z players Johnny Donaldson, Kt Baldassaro, Colin Allen, Ray Hryb, Dina Baker, and Chris Shanahan (all encoring from Killing Brooke) return alongside newcomer Camee Manderfield in this gory tale of demonic temptation and terror. Jared Skolnick, an award-winning director in his own right (for his short H.P. Lovecraft adaptation The Music of Erich Zann), reprises cinematographer duties from Killing Brooke, shooting on the Canon EOS 7D.

The original Devil's Nightmare centered on a group of tourists who are forced to take shelter at an old Gothic castle owned by Baron von Rhoneberg. There they are joined by a mysterious stranger who turns out to be a succubus, or a servant of the Devil. Each one of the tourists is supposed to represent one of the 7 deadly sins (but with the exception of 3, it's hard to decipher which person represents which sin) and are killed accordingly, but about halfway through the movie that concept is seemingly abandoned.

This new version of The Devil's Nightmare modernizes the story a bit. It now takes place at an experimental rehab clinic where Dr. Rhoneberg is attempting to cure a group of people of their vices. Among the group are a drug addict, a sex addict, an alcoholic, and an actress with an eating disorder. There is still a 7 Deadly Sins motif all the way through, but it's a little more obvious who represented what. As with the original, they are joined by a mysterious stranger who may or may not be a succubus.

O'Dassey plays the part of Lisa, originated by Erica Blanc, and Pinn tackles the role of Satan, played in the 1971 version by Daniel Emilfork. Post-production on the film is under way with a hoped for release the end of this year.

Focus World has partnered with web platform Tugg to release Nacho Vigalondo's sci-fi comedy "Extraterrestrial" in theaters and VOD on June 15th.

Film will open in select cities including Brooklyn, Seattle and North Hollywood, as well as Alama Drafthouse locations in Texas. As part of the unique distribution strategy, pic will also be available for audiences nationwide to create their own theatrical screenings through the Tugg platform, where an individual can create personalized theatrical screenings by selecting the date, time, and theater of their choice, and then spreading the word. Once enough people commit to attending, the event will be confirmed and fans can host their own screening of the movie.

"Extraterrestrial," which hails from the Spanish writer-director of "Timecrimes," made its world premiere at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival. An alien-invasion tale, pic follows two strangers in Madrid, fresh off a one-night stand, who find their morning after disrupted by a suspicious neighbor, a jealous ex and a mysterious flying saucer that hovers over the city.

"We're thrilled to be able to bring Nacho's work back to audiences in the United States. This strategy allows his fans to see 'Extraterrestrial' either on the big screen with an audience, or in the comfort of their own homes," said Focus' Avy Eschenasy, who closed the deal along with Kent Sanderson.

Entertainment One will release "Extraterrestrial" on DVD later in this summer.

Well then. It sounds as if RoboCop isn't going to be the only unconventional lawman getting a modernized upgrade soon. The man who gave new meaning to the term beat cop may just be patrolling for violence and mayhem soon enough!

According to Daily Grindhouse in an exclusive interview with both William Lustig and Larry Cohen, it's been revealed that Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive) is going to be joining Lustig as a producer on the next entry into the Maniac Cop franchise.

“It’s going to be more of a prequel than anything else. I am really excited to come back to this world especially since Nick is going to be a part of it,” said Cohen. “Nick (Winding Refn) has been talking to us about it for a while now, and I had an idea that would work so we’re going to do it.” Cohen said that the film will still maintain the noir-ish comic book feel of the first three films but “with a bigger budget than the others have had.”

Lustig cautioned that “the project isn’t 100% signed off on but it’s pretty close.” No director has been named yet. Stay tuned.

The film is shot in found footage style and revolves around the events surrounding a horrific plane crash. After the terror of the impact is over, things just get worse. An action-packed thriller as well as a creature feature, Area 407 looks very intriguing and shows tons of promise.

Synopsis

Finally! That's right ... Finally! We've been waiting an agonizingly long time for word of when we'll be seeing the next entry in the Silent Hill film franchise, Silent Hill: Revelation, and thankfully that time has come.

Open Road has acquired U.S. rights to video game-based sequel Silent Hill: Revelation 3D and plans to release the psychological horror flick wide on October 26th. Sean Bean, Deborah Kara Unger and Radha Mitchell return from the original film.

In the sequel, directed by Michael J. Bassett, Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father (Bean) have been on the run from mysterious and dangerous forces. She discovers she isn't who she thinks she is, leading her deeper into a demonic world.

Chernobyl Diaries, an original story by Paranormal Activity mastermind Peli, is set in the city of Prypiat, which once housed the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor. It's written by Peli, Carey Van Dyke, and Shane Van Dyke and directed by Brad Parker.

Production took place in September and October 2011 in Eastern Europe with Peli and Brian Witten (Dark City) producing. Alcon Entertainment's Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson are exec producers. It was financed and sold internationally by FilmNation Entertainment, and Warner Bros. will be releasing it later this year on Memorial Day weekend.

Chernobyl Diaries follows a group of six young tourists who, looking to go off the beaten path, hire an "extreme tour" guide. Ignoring warnings, he takes them into the city of Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, but a deserted town since the disaster more than 25 years ago. A bit of late breaking news has come out of this past weekend's C2E2 in Chicago involving Dark Horse Comics' announcement of two brand-new miniseries based on fan favorite characters from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which are slated for release later this year.

First up is Spike. Written by Victor Gischler (X-Men, Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth) and drawn by Paul Lee (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Devil’s Footprints), Spike promises to be the series all Joss Whedon fans will be talking about.

Spike ventures off world in his bug ship in order to get away from some personal frustration on terra firma and winds up sucked into a demonic plot to take advantage of the absence of magic on earth.

“What I love about working with Dark Horse on Buffy-related material is that they take great care to capture the feel of the characters and stories from the television show, of which I was a huge fan. Getting my hands on the characters I’ve loved so much over the years is a dream come true,” said Gischler.

Spike #1 will be on sale August 22, 2012.

Next, Willow gets her own miniseries. Written by Jeff Parker (Thunderbolts, Agents of Atlas) and drawn by Brian Ching (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Witchblade), Willow tells the story of the witch’s obsessive journey to recover her magic.

Willow is on a quest to bring magic back to the world, and she’ll do anything to make it happen, including forming some unhealthy alliances after cracking the code to travel to other dimensions - something thought impossible since the destruction of the Seed.

Willow #1 will be on sale November 21, 2012.

Okay, all you guidos and guidettes, you better be stocking up on bottles of spray tan, Valtrex, and shark repellent because there’s an albino shark in the mood for Italian cuisine. Forget smooshing; there’s a whole lot of chewing going on in this trailer for Jersey Shore Shark Attack.

Synopsis:
Many years ago, hundreds of locals and tourists were massacred by giant man-eating sharks in the infamous 1916 Jersey Shore attacks. But that's just a legend... or is it? It's a holiday weekend on the Jersey Shore, and unbeknownst to anyone, underwater drills have attracted dozens of albino bull sharks to the pier. It isn't until a famous singer is eaten alive during a performance on the pier that the shark hunt begins. Now, the Preppies must work together with the Guidos in order to save the Jersey Shore and its inhabitants from another vicious slaughter. Starz Media has sprung the trailer for Jersey Shore Shark Attack, and it looks to deliver all the shark-on-Italian-Americans action you could want from a movie with such a title. In fact, I get the impression this is another one of those cases like with Super Shark where all the best moments are completely given away in the trailer. I mean, the big money shot of the movie is Joey Fatone, playing himself, getting eaten by the shark, and the trailer shows you the whole thing. Then again, can you really spoil a movie called Jersey Shore Shark Attack?

It hasn’t been officially announced yet, but word is Jersey Shore Shark Attack will be premiering on Syfy sometime in June.

No one doubts the acting abilities of Sir Anthony Hopkins, and now that the first image of him in full makeup as Alfred Hitchcock has been released, we're even more excited to see him portray the iconic director in the upcoming film Hitchcock. Check it out!

Dread Central hit Monsterpalooza this past weekend, and one of the many amazing sights we witnessed was the An American Werewolf in London panel, which assembled the principals for an in-depth chat regarding the seminal film. We brought back some video for your viewing pleasure.

Moderated by effects artist Mike Hill, the An American Werewolf in London panel featured director John Landis, actor David Naughton, special effects makeup artist and legend Rick Baker and his FX crew, which was comprised of Steve Johnson, Craig Reardon, Tom Hester and Bill Sturgeon.

Running well over the hour mark (and all of it fascinating), the panel touched on the creation of the groundbreaking effects Baker and his team created as well as several other topics. Have a look at the videos below for a taste.

What can we say? We're fascinated by the bloody goodness of The Raid, so much so that every time we see anything new, we have to serve it up for you hot and fresh!

Synopsis
Rama, a member of a special forces team, arrives at a rundown apartment block with a mission to remove its owner, a notorious drug lord. The building has become a sanctuary to killers, gangs, rapists and thieves seeking accommodation in the one place they know they cannot be touched by the police. When a spotter blows their cover, Rama and his team must fight their way through every floor and every room not just to complete their mission but to survive their bloody ordeal.
