Episode 1 of Robert Michael Ryan's post-apocalyptic web series Revelations debuted a few days ago, and Episode 2 is on its way shortly. In the meantime here are some photos from both installments, including a few exclusives that haven't been seen anywhere else!

The bottom row contains the new stills from Episode 2, which should be online this weekend. The entire run will contain 10-12 episodes, and we'll be keeping tabs on the series' progress as it evolves.

The story takes place after the Rapture has occurred and follows a particular two survivors -- Dana, played by Marlene Mc'Cohen (Vampire Boys, Alice in Murderland), and Jeremy, played by Cuyle Carvin (Assault of the Sasquatch, Blood Moon) -- and their attempt to get out of town, find other survivors, and seek some kind of safety - which may or may not exist. Also appearing are Ted Ferguson as the Homeless Man and Damion Stephens as a Demon.

Just five days remain until the season premiere of "True Blood" on HBO, and this latest promo video wants to make sure you don't forget that the wait is almost over!

There's no greater joy we get around here than reporting that a much beloved director is getting back in the saddle and readying himself to return to feature films with a brand new terror tale. The fact that it's based on a Stephen King story to boot is the icing on the proverbial cake.

Director Tom Holland (Fright Night, Child's Play) has headed into King territory before with "The Langoliers" and Thinner, and now he's set to take the reins on a big screen adaptation of the short story "The Ten O'Clock People" from Nightmares and Dreamscapes.

“The story follows Brandon Pearson, who in trying to kick his smoking habit uncovers a frightening aspect of reality he plans to extinguish through extreme measures.” Holland remarked that “this film will be a modernization of the original short story, a paranoid suspense piece.”

The Ten O’Clock People will begin filming this summer and is produced by Making Ten O’Clock Productions and Holland’s Dead Rabbit Films. Holland returned to directing in 2007 with his entry into the acclaimed Masters of Horror series for Showtime, "We All Scream for Ice Cream." Currently he is writing and directing Twisted Tales, a series of shorts for FEARnet.

Namco Bandai Games has announced the highly anticipated Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition. The special content-enhanced edition, which has been revamped for PC gamers while retaining all of its original content and atmosphere, will release in North America on August 24th.

Leading video game publisher and developer NAMCO BANDAI Games America, Inc., today announced that, by popular demand, Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition will be releasing for the PC platform in North America on August 24th. This special, content-enhanced edition of the critically acclaimed Action-RPG developed by FromSoftware will be finely-tuned to cater to the PC gaming audience while retaining all of the deep challenge, rich atmosphere, and compelling gameplay that made the game a worldwide phenomenon. Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition on the PC platform will also include an enhanced PVP mode allowing players to more closely assemble battles against one another online in an all-out fight to the death that fans have demanded.

IFC Midnight is acquiring all US rights to REPLICAS, the acclaimed thriller from director Jeremy Power Regimbal, which had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in April. Starring Selma Blair (HELLBOY), Joshua Close (THE PACIFIC), James D'Arcy (W.E.), and Rachel Miner (BULLY), the film was produced by Regimbal and Justin Tyler Close and was executive produced by Tina Pehme, Kim C. Roberts, and Susan Jackson. Celluloid Nightmares has all foreign rights.

Jackson, of North American sales agent Turtles Crossing LLC, negotiated the sale with Jeff Deutchman, Director, Acquisitions & Productions, Sundance Selects/IFC Films.

REPLICAS is Jeremy Power Regimbal’s first feature after helming numerous commercials and music videos through his company The Lab Media Group. The script, written by cast member Joshua Close, was based on a story from Regimbal and producer Justin Tyler Close, the creators of The Lab Magazine.

IFC Midnight is a sister label to IFC Films and Sundance Selects and is owned and operated by AMC Networks Inc.

After the accidental death of their six-year-old daughter, the Hughes family escape their busy upscale suburban life and head to their isolated cottage for some quality time. After a couple of years of talking about John Wildman's horror flick Stripped, things are finally moving, and the flick is ready to go before cameras with some new additions to the cast. Read on for details. Dig it!

On the eve of principal photography for the film STRIPPED, Wildworks Productions, director/producer John Wildman, and producers Farah White, Adam Dietrich and Justina Walford announced key changes in the cast, with Melodie Sisk, Gabriel Horn and R.J. Hanson joining the horror thriller. Filming is set to begin in Dallas, Texas on Friday, June 8. Sisk has been cast to play the leader of a “family” of malevolent women that threaten the lives of a trio of young men on a birthday outing, with Horn and Sanford set to play two brothers that are part of that trio. Sisk and Horn replace the previously announced Tiffany Shepis and Michael Guarnera.

Wildman said, “We couldn’t be more excited by these additions to the film. Melodie and Gabriel are both accomplished indie producers as well as actors with a proven talent for challenging themselves and audiences with their past projects. All three actors impressed us greatly and will round out the STRIPPED cast wonderfully.”

Wildworks Productions also announced that STRIPPED will film at the premiere boutique film studio Agora Entertainment, located in Las Colinas, Texas as well as utilizing several of that studio’s crew of filmmakers in key production roles on the film. The 32,000 square foot facility will be home to 95% of the production boasting an exact replica of Wildman’s and Walford's actual Dallas home.

Regarding the impact filming at Agora will have on STRIPPED, White said, "It is remarkable and rare for a truly independent film to have the infrastructure of a studio like Agora as part of their production. It will give John creative diversity and unparalleled capabilities by enabling shots and sequences that couldn't be done in a non-studio setting. We are very lucky to have access to Agora and full run of their facility."

Melodie Sisk is an actor/producer based out of Brooklyn NY. Sisk made her feature film debut starring in Zach Clark's feature MODERN LOVE IS AUTOMATIC (2009) which went on to screen at many film festivals including SXSW and the Edinburgh International Film Festival. She followed by Co-Producing and starring in Clark’s second feature VACATION (2011), as well as Co-Producing his upcoming feature WHITE REINDEER, set for a 2013 release. Upcoming projects include Drew Tobias’ upcoming feature SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY.

Gabriel Horn most recently starred in Tom Huckabee’s award winning film festival favorite, CARRIED AWAY in 2010, which he also produced along with his wife and New Palace Films producing partner, Jennifer Floyd. Upcoming projects include the comedy scripted/reality hybrid television series, Ghostbreakers, which will debut this Fall 2012 on the Mark Burnett partnered cable network, YouToo Social TV. Additional credits include credits include NIGHT CRAWLERS (2009), THE CONSULTANTS (2009), and LITTLE WHITE BOY (2002).

Yet another young adult book-to-film adaptation is on its way, but considering that the writer of the source material is Mark Frost, co-creator of "Twin Peaks", we're pretty optimistic about its prospects.

Per The Wrap, Reliance Entertainment and Kintop Pictures have paid seven figures for the film rights to The Paladin Prophecy, an upcoming young adult trilogy written by Frost. Random House will publish the first book in the Paladin series this September, and Reliance hopes to release the first film in 2014.

Reliance will develop the screenplay of the first book with Frost, a best-selling author whose other screenwriting credits include Fantastic Four and numerous episodes of "Hill Street Blues." Frost will also executive produce.

"We are thrilled to be in business with a master storyteller like Mark Frost," producer Deepak Nayar of Kintop/Reliance said in a statement. "These books align perfectly with what the international motion picture audience is looking for."

In case you haven't noticed, every time we put up a trailer or do a story on Sega's Aliens: Colonial Marines, we drool like the nerdiest of fanboys. Thankfully we had lots of wipes around when these images from Sega's Aliens E3 booth showed up via Heather Wixson.

So, yeah. Everyone knows that today the planet Venus passed between the Earth and the Sun. Especially Fox, which has Ridley Scott's Prometheus (review) hitting theatres this weekend. Can you think of a better rare celestial event to capitalize on? Dig it!

Part of our morning ritual around here is checking out just what the new header is on the Google home page and where it leads. That's why today's movie-themed doodle caught our eye, jump scare and all! Check it out!

When you head on over to the main Google page, you'll find an animated image that upon being clicked leads directly to a listing for the opening of the first drive-in theater. Given the history of horror movies and drive-ins, we felt this was something that would be totally worth a look!

For the record ... the first patent for the Drive-In Theater (United States Patent# 1,909,537) was issued on May 16, 1933. With an investment of $30,000, Richard Hollingshead, then a young sales manager at his dad's Whiz Auto Products, opened the first drive-in on Tuesday, June 6, 1933, at a location on Crescent Boulevard in Camden, New Jersey. The price of admission was 25 cents for the car and 25 cents per person.

An official one-sheet has made its way online for Jennifer Lynch's new movie Chained, which was recently slapped with an NC-17 for "some explicit violence." Doesn't that sound ever so ominous? Thank the lord the MPAA is there to look out for our precious psyches!

Synopsis
Eight-year-old Tim and his mother, Sarah, are picked up by Bob, a deranged taxi cab driver on the hunt for his next victim. Tim witnesses his first murder, the murder of his mother, but it would not be his last. Bob keeps Tim as a reluctant protégé, forcing him to clean and bury the bodies of the young women he drags home. Now a teenager, Tim must make a life or death choice between following in Bob's footsteps or breaking free from his captor.

In the indie thriller Apartment 143 follows a trio of parapsychologists who begin investigating a series of anomalous phenomena in a newly occupied apartment.

As the team begins interviewing and recording the tenants, the unexplained phenomena intensifies and as they go deeper into their research, it is revealed that a family's secrets may also play a factor into the mysterious supernatural happenings inside Apartment 143.

Recently Dread Central had the opportunity to speak with first-time feature filmmaker Carles Torrens about his involvement on the flick as well as his experiences making the challenging flick which uses well over 10 different forms of footage style and more on why he'd like to continue to call the horror genre home for some time.

Dread Central: I'd love to hear more about how you came on board this project. Had you known Rodrigo (Cortes, who wrote the script) before this?

Carles Torrens: Oh definitely; I've admired his work for a long time and we've also been friends for a while. He had originally written this script to direct but after the success of Buried, he moved on in a different direction. He sent me the script and I thought it was really interesting because it was very different; it wasn't the usual ghost story and I enjoyed that. At the point I was reading the script, they didn't have anyone attached and I guess they liked my work on the short films I had done so they offered it to me and I was thrilled to come on board.

Dread Central: Had you known a lot about parapsychology and investigating the supernatural before you came on board? How did you prepare to tackle this story and make it your own?

Carles Torrens: I didn't really at first, no. But I knew I wanted to learn everything I could about it and Rodrigo had done a lot of research while he was writing the script so that was my first resource because it was a great blueprint to start from. After that, I did a lot of research on my own and made a reader's digest version of everything I had absorbed through all of the books and everything I read. That's what I gave the actors to work off of too just so they'd have a great wealth of information on parapsychology coming into this which I think definitely helped prepare them for the shoot.

Dread Central: Because first-person footage has become so popular recently, what did you do to make Apartment 143 stand out from other recent films who used the same techniques?

Carles Torrens: Well the movie was already planned as a found footage-style project before I signed on so I didn't really decide the style but I think it really works well with the approach of our story. Because we focus so much on the scientific process to parapsychology, it wouldn't have felt right to shoot this movie traditionally and I think when you have cameras that become the background, it allows for some interesting character moments and I think we successfully achieved that in this.

The funny thing is that Apartment 143 had been in the works long before Paranormal Activity 2 came out so to be honest, I hadn't seen a movie use surveillance footage in this way before we set out to make this. I see this as a research movie and that's definitely unlike other movies that may share similar DNA with us. This approach about providing a detached and distant look at the experiments carried out by scientists and it's all very academic. Scientists wouldn't shoot with a steadicam, right?

Dread Central: What are working on now? Any plans to return to the horror genre in the future?

Carles Torrens: There are a few things I’m working on but I can't really talk about them because these days, it seems like projects can come together and fall apart in just a few hours so it's always better to not talk about things until you're actually in pre-production. But yes, there are a few things I am working on but I’d rather not talk about them yet.

I definitely do want to stay working in the genre for a while though- I will say that. I love it and I think it's a great platform to tell incredibly engaging stories and one of the best ways to hone your craft and challenge yourself as both a storyteller and a filmmaker.

It's always hard to say goodbye to a legend, but in this case we don't really have to because his legacy lives on. If there's one thing we know for certain, it's that the genius work of author Ray Bradbury will be enjoyed, dissected, and studied for generations to come.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Ray Bradbury, the writer whose expansive flights of fantasy and vividly rendered space-scapes have provided the world with one of the most enduring speculative blueprints for the future, has died. He was 91. Bradbury was author of more than 27 novels and story collections and more than 600 short stories. Some say he single-handedly helped to move the genre [of science fiction] into the realm of literature.

“I'm not a science fiction writer,” he was frequently quoted as saying. “I've written only one book of science fiction [Fahrenheit 451]. All the others are fantasy. Fantasies are things that can't happen, and science fiction is about things that can happen.”

Ray Douglas Bradbury was born August 22, 1920, in Waukegan, Illinois, to Leonard Spaulding Bradbury and the former Esther Marie Moberg. As a child he soaked up the ambiance of small-town life — wraparound porches, fireflies, and the soft, golden light of late afternoon — that would later become a hallmark of much of his fiction.
